Now, this is really a good music to the ears of PBA fans. Just read it on my social media feed and i don't have link to it but i think this is legit news.

JUST IN | Resumption of games in PBA, pro leagues recommended; MPBL, other semi-pros not allowed until vaccine is available   

MEMBERS from various sports organizations, including the Philippine Basketball Association, met with the Department of Health, the Games and Amusement Board and the Philippine Sports Commission, which created a Joint Administrative Order on Thursday to discuss certain protocols to be followed in the resumption of training for professional and semi-pro leagues.

Atty. Melvin Mendoza represented the PBA as league commissioner Willie Marcial was in another meeting.   

In the joint administrative order by GAB, PSC and DoH, the following general guidelines were recommended:

1. Contact sports and activities for non-professional sports are not allowed at any time, until an effective vaccine and established standard of care is put in place for COVID-19 cases.

2. Contact sports and activities for professional sports are allowed in low risk areas, provided that the minimum public health standards are observed at all times.               

Under the 4Ps framework (person/participants, public/private location, physical environment and participation), the NCR, whose most municipalities are under the General Community Quarantine or under Moderate Risks Area, can have a maximum participants of five people attending the training. They are allowed to conduct training in a private or public place.

Unless the NCR is put on high risk or will return to Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), games of the PBA and other pro leagues can resume, but might do it behind closed door or in just one secured area until such time an effective vaccine or appropriated standard of care for COVID-19 cases is developed.
       
On resumption of live audience, non-professional events such as tournaments, competitive events, and athletic meets shall not be permitted. Professional sporting events may be allowed in low-risk areas, provided such events are compliant to the minimum public health standards.

This developed as the PBA is set to meet with the coaches of 12 participating teams on Friday afternoon. Immediately after the meeting, Commissioner Marcial will gather the rest of the board members regarding their plans to resume training and eventually, the games.

So there we go, we will just wait on what will the outcome of the meeting tomorrow but it's sure that PBA will resume unless NCR will be reverted back to ECQ.

Actually they have a point since it's really risky to restart the league while the pandemic still occurring and situation still uncontrolled, we don't have vaccine available yet so this could be a huge danger for the players as well the person who are inside the court since this could turn worse and they could possibly add up the number of patients. So guess the decision has been made so provably we could see the live action when vaccine will be successfully created.

PBA is still good with them, and it increases the chances of the SMB to win in the conference without Japeth, lol.

Yeah right, the game will proceed even without those violators. There are still fans from the other teams that will
continue to watch and support the league. The rules needs to be implemented to every players and teams whoever
the violators if there's certain rules that needed to imply then punishments should be there to apply.

Fresh from his 5 on 5 game controversy amid the GCQ status in Metro Manila, Japeth Aguilar strikes again lol. Why do this guy can't follow simple rules, is it that they think they untouchables because they are famous? If the trend continues, PBA resumption would be a disaster since some players can't follow protocols.

As I pointed out too in my previous post. These players should treat pandemic seriously.

Also hoping that there will be an increase with the penalty. It's unfair for those players who patiently wait and following the safety measures while these famous players can just do whatever they want.

So there we go, we will just wait on what will the outcome of the meeting tomorrow but it's sure that PBA will resume unless NCR will be reverted back to ECQ.

To be precise, once Manila shifted to MGCQ - wherein large activities are now allowed to resume. But for Manila to be considered shifting to MGCQ, the number of confirmed cases should be slow down which is far from happening based on daily records.

I'm not aware of this meeting tomorrow (or later), thanks for posting. I thought they will address the community next month. Either way, let's wait for the outcome.

Wow! That's all I can say, it's an achievement for another local pinoy player, like what he have said he's happy to represent our country
to whatever extent that he's career will bring him. A good move for him after leaving GSM team it an interesting journey if what will be
the future of his basketball career, the only thing now is we will continue playing and that's nice to know. Good luck Gregzilla.

Good luck to Greg's journey here, I thought this kid already quit his dream but I was wrong, he was looking for a bigger league than the PBA.
What made me happy is despite he is already out in the PBA, but he affirms he will play with the Gilas Pilipinas.

He is one of the most formidable players in the PBA court and all we can do now is wish him luck. What will happen to GSM right now? As far as I know, he's the best Centers GSM has.

I am not sure of this one yet, my guess is he is not paid, I think he is even the one who is paying for it.
I would only assume that he is paid once he gets a contract.

However, based on what I observed watching his games, I don't see him being valuable like a star player in a team.

Japeth I guess will man as the center in a Greg Less GSM, and I think he is more effective since he is faster and he can score as well.

Your idea might not work as they are in a business competition, what I mean is, what if they have the same schedule, of course TV5 will prioritize the PBA and will not cover the other league, so it will not work for sure. I am not sure what channels they will find but I think there are other channels out there that could cater them, besides these two leagues are popular in the Philippines, so let's just wait for the news or updated regarding this.

My bad, I didn't realize that, of course that's a vital factor that needs to be considered, it's the competition which I think MPBL is more of a competition to the PBA, we can remove the UAAP to the competition as they league where soon PBA players will play first.

I also thought of that as the biggest network in the Philippines are close and a lot of employees including the talents lose their job.
This would be the time where TV 5 focus on the entertainment and news industry, and I think it might result to limiting of sports broadcast which they might only broadcast the PBA games and that would lead to no open rooms for other sports, of course this is just an speculation, but I believe I'm seeing this scenario to be very close in the future.

At first i thought that the PBA will follow the set-up of NBA in their games resumption but as i have read the article, it's not. It's just like an individual working in a company then go straight back home, for me it's still dangerous. I hope the "every 10 days" testing will help in the safety of all the individuals involved.

I understand that they can't emulate the NBA bubble because it's so expensive but i hope they can isolate even the players only in a dormitory with their families for a certain period of time.
