Okoye hasn't had an opportunity to play in a long time, and yesterday he had one since Nwanbali wasn't available, but he just conceded two goals in three minutes. To be honest, Boniface must be relaxing with his game, though it has been difficult for him to score goals for Nigeria, at least he has got many chances to assist, but he continued playing the ball over the post.

It was an early goal on the 14th minutes of the second half. It's clear that Nigeria will win this match. I hope to see more goals as soon more fresh legs will be brought into the game. It is 1-0.

An early second half goal for Nigeria which they couldn't defend for long before the Rwanda Mutsinzi found th back of the net with a header to level the game. Now they are leading with a 1:2 score and are likely to win this game because Nigeria is really not showing so much energy on winning this game, maybe because they have already qualified come what may be with the result of the game.

Now Rwanda is 8 points level with Benin however, they still stay behind Benin Republic on the ground table due to goal difference despite the winning they're having against Nigeria. Doesn't seem they're eventually going to qualify for the CAF with this result anyway.

Unfortunately, The Super Eagles lost their game at home to Rwanda this evening because they looked down on Rwanda as a weak team that they can easily defeat. Got their first goal and thought everything was gonna end their and couldn't put in more effort, and they weren't forcing attack as supposed. Victor Osimhen was brought in the late hour of the game at the 77th minutes .After Rwanda got their equalizer goal and saw their was a loophole in the defense line, they immediately took advantage of that and scored their winning goal.  

I think the super eagles were somewhat lazy today and didn't play as a team, perhaps it was glaring clear that the coach of the super eagles didn't know what to do when he saw that his boys were losing the game, it seemed to me as if the coach didn't have any tactics whatsoever and the Nigeria team indeed deserved to loose this game, so I don't think anybody should be surprised by this result because Nigeria didn't play as expected.

I agree with you, the super Eagles where totally lazy with the way they approached the game, during the first half they maintained a good possession but we are not able to see the back of the net, although one of the major effect is the reservation that was made as most of the key players where reserved. The super Eagles were able to pick up their pace during the second half after that beautiful goal from chukwueze but there was some laxity as they all relaxed allowing their opponents to equalise the initial 1-0 and even proceeded to make it 2-1 in favour of Rwanda. It was just a messy game for Nigeria, I think they where playing with the mindset that they've already qualified for the AFCON.

Yes, they may have qualified but the issue here with Nigerians is that we do not value history or statistics and that's  why they played the game as if they were having a training session, this will go down in history as one of the games where Rwanda beat Nigeria on our home soil and it will never change, and probably these kind of results are the reasons why other African countries are no more scared of the super eagles before they no more command that respect they once had back in the days of players like, Sunday Oliseh, Finidi George, Jay Jay Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu etc.

I don't understand Boniface when it comes to playing for Nigeria, he finds it very difficult to add good impact to the success of the team, and he misses good chances provided for him. I missed Nwabali presence on the field yesterday because assuming he was the one on the goal post, those two goals wouldn't entered easily. It was a disgrace that a weak country came to Nigeria and defeated them from one goal down. What a porous defense.

My question for the super eagles is that how can they allow a team like Rwanda come all the way from there country to our home to win us 2:1 and not even because of any advantage they have over us, is a big shame to the super eagles and even if there intentions are not for the wining but at least draw would have been acceptable so that those that went to the stadium to support them will be proud to say that super eagles has wipe the shame of losing from them, actually we were very sad with the draw they had with the Benin team but this one is the saddest results and you can imagine how slow they were playing as if they have a fatigue.

The Super Eagles did not take the match really serious as they were just lousy on the pitch with no moral but on the other thought, do you not think it was intentional from the Super Eagles that they knew what they did because there was a news  circulating on the internet that the  Libyan players were pleading with the Super Eagles to win their match so that they Libya could still have the hope of hanging on. Maybe their stay depends on Super Eagles victory but their hope was dashed as Super Eagles lost their match.

Irrespective, of what their plans were, I think the performance from them weren't satisfactory because the approach was not encouraging and we hope they do not display such performance when the tournament begins as the hope of over 200million Nigerians depends on them to come hope with the trophy as it is that they are a full team with international experienced players with big clubs in the world.

For me, there is no need to reshuffle the Super Eagles because most of the players in the team are in good form. Many of them play in good clubs and are performing well in their leagues. The main issue might be getting a coach who would be able to harness the quality of available players. Maybe Augustine Eguavoen could remain as the hard coach while a technical adviser should be added to the coaching crew. My reason is that the current coach seem not to be sound technically. He might need someone who has mastered modern football strategy.

What you said id very correct. Even in Super Sport Africa football analyst, I have forgotten his name and he said, the weaker teams are rising up in this season of AFCON. Niger Republic drew with Ghana, Benin Republic drew with Super Eagles and recently Rwanda beat Super Eagles mercilessly. Though Rwanda didn't qualify in the Nations Cup and it is only Benin Republic and Super Eagles are qualified in the AFCON 2025 Morocco. But there is a big question. Of course Mohammed Salah impact was missed and if he was available today he would have made a very big difference, alot of chances was created just like you said and if he was in the squad he would have converted most of those chances. Despite know that they have qualified and top the group they still went on to put out a good fight and if those chances created was utilized they probably would have won the game maybe 4-1 or even 5-1. It was a good game but it doesn't just reflect on the final score line.

Egypt are nothing similar to super eagles, super eagles couldn't even control the game, the super eagles played poorly, they show lack of passion, and they don't even show the zeal that they want to win even as they where playing at home. Unlike the Egyptians today they absolutely took total control of the game from the very beginning and even when they conceded they equalized within 10 minutes, I would say if the Egyptian had scored first just like the super eagles they would have win the match. Sometimes football is like this, you take control, dominate and even create alot of chances but at the end the goal won't just go in that the Egypt case today, but they played well.

It's now official.
Here are the 24 teams that have qualified for the AFCON that's to be hosted at Morocco. Almost all the big African teams apart from Ghana are in the list all set for the tournament. The two finalist for the last edition are all in for another try and the host, Morocco, after smashing Lesotho 7:0 in thier last game will be hoping to go into the AFCON with that mentality hoping to do the same thing ivory Coast did by hosting and winning the last AFCON.

The question is now to determine which is the most likely team to get to the finals of the AFCON based on how they performed in the qualification stage and how strong the team is in comparison to other qualified teams.

Honestly, the Super Eagles is not giving me any confidence that they will do well in the AFCON.

Two goals in the second half points to the indication that the defenders of the Super Eagles lost concentration and lost the ability to keep the ball and stop the Rwandans from scoring two goals within a space of 10 minutes. That is not good going forward expecting to get to the AFCON and win it. We should not be having problems with scoring goals and now also have to focus on a new problem of defending. It was a lackluster performance from the Super Eagles. You can’t be doing this in front of your home fans. The AFCON definitely would be a lot more interesting without Ghana's Black Stars. I think Nigeria felt good after they were eliminated in the group stage the last time because we always want Ghana to lose their match since they never want us to win any games anyway. Ghana has developed some excellent players, and I can confidently state that they are on the same level as the Nigeria Super Eagle's best players. However, I'm wondering to understand why they were unable to defeat any opponents in the AFCON qualifier. Ghana has scored two goals, lost two, and drew three of their last five games.

But in one video I saw online, a Black Stars supporter claimed that Mohammed Kudus's inability to perform better for Ghana was due to the new number 10 shirt he received. I find that funny because I don't understand how a player's jersey number could stop them from participating in a game. The Black stars, in my opinion, are not prepared to represent their country, and I don't think they will have any trouble playing with their best players. In the future ahead AFCON, I hope they return stronger.

I don't totally agree with you. Even though Ghana has quality players, I don't think that the players are quite at the same level as their Nigeria counterparts in terms of overall quality and depth. The rumors suggesting that Mohammed Kudus underwhelming performance for his country is due to the pressure of wearing the number 10 jersey seems more of an excuse to justify his dip in form.

Ghana's recent struggles in international tournaments shows that they must be having issues, it could be for their coach, the players or a combination of both. Whatever the problem they are facing, it needs to be addressed if they are hoping to compete on the global stage effectively.

I will say that the reason for the super eagle players to performed very woefully yesterday was because they have already qualified from the group stage. And they didn't see that match as a competitive one again, rather it was more of a training session for the super eagle players. You can't blame them much because, they have been playing so many games lately and they still have many more to play. So what's the point of playing with all seriousness and risk losing your players to injuries, for a tournament that you have already qualified for. Honestly it doesn't make much sense. Remember these players have club side to return to and nobody will like to go back injured. So it was more of who needed the point most should play the highest and win. For me provided they have qualified us to the tournament that's enough.

The question is now to determine which is the most likely team to get to the finals of the AFCON based on how they performed in the qualification stage and how strong the team is in comparison to other qualified teams.

There's a problem with this idea because most teams might perform excellently in the qualification stages but goto the AFCON and play absolute shit. It's too early to make assumptions. I'd rather sit on my hands and wait for the tournament to fully go live and see how the teams perform in group stage match-ups. It starts to get reslly interesting when teams start going up against other teams of same or similar quality. That's where the real fun begin.

I'm happy to see most top teams make the cut because it means no one will get a free lunch.
