Vertical mounting and stock/reference coolers are a great combination. Thats why I love my RV03 case.

It's good for a main pc. It's quiet, and keeps the pc really stable. I don't think it's very cost effective, unless you can get the parts used. My main pc will probably never pay for itself, even though its been mining for over a year. It was never really meant to though.

My home kitchen rig (pics are clickable):
http://www.ximages.net/images/55149569002397989291_thumb.jpg
Fans speeds are changed in MSI AB config, maximum 2100rpm, blow out = TY-140 @ 1300rpm, 2 x HD7870 @ 1150/250 + 2 x 7950 @ 1050/250 on stock voltages = 2 x 420Mhash/s + 2 x 520 Mhash/s.

My home PC:
http://www.ximages.net/images/83334997118256058747_thumb.jpg
Very quite, nearly inaudible from 1-2m, 4 x Scythe Slip Streams 120x120x25mm @ 800rpm (PSU, Accelero S-1, blow in, blow out), 1 x Noctua NH-P14 140x140x25mmm (CPU cooler) @ 700rpm, HD7950 @ 950/800 = 475Mhash/s.

Some nice set ups in this thread

Here are a few pic's of my current dedicated rigs..

The top rig has 4 x 5830's, lower rig has 3x 5870 + 1x 5850. Each one has a 1000 watt Power supply MSI 890FXA-GD70 motherboard. I use one wireless adaptor and share the internet connection with the bottom rig through the ethernet port.

I have two 5850's in my home PC.

Just a little update of my 2 primary miners. Duct tape labels, sliiiiightly less messy wires (looks better from head on than before), and shows power usage of each. Warning, big images Tongue

Not bad, ssateneth!  According to my lil calculator you are only paying roughly $2.00 per bitcoin mined.

If you're not excited by the idea of being an early adopter 'now', then you should come back in three or four years and either tell us "Told you it'd never work!" or join what should, by then, be a much more stable and easier-to-use system.

My newest addition to my collection of rigs, my rig at work.

Nothing fancy, 2 x 5970 running at 820/300 @ stock voltage.

Shoutout goes to rjk, I bought and used his testing rig for this project.

I wouldn't see the problem. It's probably near silent because of water cooling.

Yeah and it looks like it might be replacing the heater below it with something that makes money while making heat. Wink

I use the don't ask, don't tell approach Wink. But I would imagine it will come up sometime so I will tell them what it is.

One of the reasons I used water cooling.

Awesome job with the watercooling!

Thanks rjk!

Got a new PSU the other day. Now the rig runs on just two power supplies (yeah, it was three before). :/

Epic Power Strip.
I have one too, somewhere. I have no idea how old it is, probably at least 10-20 years old. MASSIVE thing.
