Once Monero has a GUI, I doubt I will ever use Bitcoin again. Monero will be superior in every possible way.
lol you can buy what, exactly, with monero? Bitcoins, as an appcoin for xmr.to. At least until the merchants realize they are wasting money on conversion fees to convert their appcoin back to Monero.

Once Monero has a GUI, I doubt I will ever use Bitcoin again. Monero will be superior in every possible way. (Except maybe user base and market cap at first, but that can be resolved ) Everytime I read that "monero no gui blabla" rhetoric, it makes me MAAAAAAAAAAAAD So Monero has a GUI. Even several GUIs. Here's one of them: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=683365.0The dev has been interviewed in the last missive. And if you tell me blabla no official gui, do you even use bitcoin official gui? Yes, I do. Except for mobile devices. I will do the same for Monero.

Where I live at least, some have gone from "laugh" to "fight" already, and that is intensifying. Bets hedged, waiting if the next stage comes Laugh, fight, win—life You forgot a stage :-P "First they ignore you, then they ridicule (laugh at) you, then they fight you, and then you win."

From my perspective, I would only be using Monero.

Don't worry someone will build btc.to for the poor schlubs who still hold btc at that point..

I guess at this point it's unavoidable. However, once Monero is brought to a greater level of usability, and merchants begin accepting it, Bitcoin will no longer have relevance for me.

There are many in "ignore" stage, but typically they "ignore" BTC as well.
Again, my observation only.

the government should be freaking out about the potential implications of this tech. but they aren't. at all. not even a wiff of it. firmly in the ignore stage.

It is just a matter of time when Monero will reach the parity with btc. Again, 5,000 btc marketbuy gets you there and probably 10,000-20,000 btc will hold you there... I wonder who is the first to pull the trigger.

I would not be surprised if Monero will be traded with multiples of bitcoins each. Many who did not buy now will kick their legs for it. I am looking prophetically to the day when Bitcoin is one of Monero's altcoins.

And so they will until they can't. C'est la vie. Might as well immanetize the eschaton a bit with some laughing and light-hearted fighting. They already let the pejorative cat out of the bag when they legitimized Bitcoin. Hail Eris!
