Sounds like a nice addition, is there to make that "white dot" Blinking like this?

It won't be deployed because theymos is a classic man who don't like animated.

AFAIK, animated avatars were disabled years ago by theymos since 2019. Your proposed animated icon is less annoying than animated avatars, I understand, but chance to see its deployment is slim.

EDIT: I saw it was just a phishing attempt, but my above scenario could be possible just in case that this is true for some exchanges.
Phishing attempt is a most obvious thinking but if it is a true request from an exchange, I am sure they are a scam exchange.

Like this
  • Beware of "Pay original fine" - a scam method
  • Some users say those scam teams even use that UI templates to repeat their scam with some exchanges
  • I am not sure OP fell an exchange with similar user interface? Are they back after 3 years?

I am pretty confident that all of these different categories are here to stay primarily because they have become popular and have attracted artists from various genres of art and I am expecting them to add more categories as time passes.
With about two or three years of running many art contests, Roobet is like in following lists of many artists who only wait for announcement from Roobet to create their arts and join contests.  Cheesy

Quote
Rewards might also increase in order to makes these art contests more competitive.
It won't be a must and I see in Roobet's art contest history, prize pools are different. I guess it depends on their assessment about important of each event which will convince them to allocate bigger or smaller prize pool.

Higher prize pool is more attractive especially in times of inflation but it is not a must requirement. Even with low prize pool from past contests, I see it is attractive enough. Additionally, they don't have much competitive contests in Bitcointalk.

In Liverpool's winning match against Manchester United, many thought this was a good step to improve all of Liverpool performances. But it turns out that it doesn't always run smoothly. So there is no specific benchmark anymore for Liverpool to make this victory a start. They will face the top leaders of the standings. So you need to be careful, both Arsenal and Liverpool have the potential to turn things around on the field.
They have problems and could not solve them but with good players they can have some good matches whilst problems are still there. A surprising win against Manchester United is a match when their star players suddenly woke up whilst Manchester United players had a very bad match.

It's bad to see Liverpool failed to continue with better form and started to fall down under top four. In this match with Arsenal, they will have disadvantage as they had to play in mid of the week whilst Arsenal had a full week of rest. Hopefully Liverpool players will be ready physically to play with Arsenal. Another disadvantage is Arsenal are very energetic squad with many young players whilst Liverpool still have to rely on some old or no longer young players.

I don't want to see Arsenal lose Premier League to Manchester City but also don't want to see Liverpool will be missed next Champions League.
1086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 09, 2023, 01:13:21 PM
I know Arsenal are in a very optimal condition, but against Liverpool, it is also not certain that they can produce a win. It's a mental thing and Liverpool can do better against big clubs.
Liverpool still are in trouble and they just lost big to Manchester City. We should not only look at their big win against Manchester United and say they can beat any big club in Premier League in this season. Arsenal have very good season and after some hiccups, they return to their best form recent weeks that is their good preparation for the first big match in remaining matches. They don't have good memory with Liverpool recent years but maybe this season will be their chance to change it.

Quote
For this match, I think Arteta needs to emphasize his players to control their mentality on the field. Broadly speaking, Liverpool is dominated by seniors who know how to provoke the emotions of Arsenal's young players.
Liverpool will do everything possible not to drop too many points which are currently threatening its position. Besides that, Man City's landslide victory over Southampton had to bet Arsenal to win. Because losing just one game can have a bad impact on the position in the top standings.
Both clubs will do everything to win this super sunday. Arsenal know that if they win this match, they will come more closely to the title. Liverpool know that they must win it to keep up their small hope left for top-4 slot which has become farther for them after they lost over Manchester City.

I think this match will be very opened and expect to see many goals from two clubs. Liverpool have problems with their defense in this season and Arsenal are able to score some goals with their strong attacking power.

Mane was a beast, I loved him as a player. You don’t know what you have until it’s gone.
Mane was a beast and he brought lot of connections and choices for Liverpool. With Mane, Liverpool had more options which are very flexible for their system but when he moved to Bayern Munich, they failed to find a good replacement. Jota, Diaz, Nunez, Gakpo failed to replace Mane at same contributions he did for their system. Other players can score goals for Liverpool but they can not contribute for their system operation like Mane.

Quote
Our main problem is the midfield, it is totally flaccid, devoid of any quality when Thiago is not there.
Thiago brings creativeness for Liverpool midfield and attacking system. He can help them to control ball and match intensity very well but his biggest problem recent years is his body. He has gotten more injuries in the last two seasons and even he has limited appearances for Liverpool, we can see difference between Liverpool with Thiago and without Thiago.

Elliot grew up quickly but he is not a type of midfield like Thiago but another truth is it's hard to find such midfielders like Thiago among English midfielders.

  • Later, occasionally I found another thing but I won't talk about it now

Well, for this part, again, nobody could know from your post in Lauda's topic Smiley If you'll feel later like debating this too, feel free to do it!
Perhaps now it is the time to talk about it.

JusticeForYou, a VIP member, 50% likely a hacked account.
VIP member hacked?
In 2019, he woke up, reset password and joined a campaign managed by Hhampuz. Later, theymos wrote his investigation result that this account is likely hacked.

When I made the post above, I saw that user woke up after a long time, reset password again. I sent him a DM but never reply to me. Recently, another wake-up and this time is worse, apply to join in a signature campaign of a scam gambling site.

With this recent action, it is more than 50% likely a hacked account.
1090  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Under capitalism eventually 1% own 99% of BTC, 1% have 99% of power? on: April 08, 2023, 03:00:22 PM
This seems to be your mistake, you are making a wrong assumption!
Bitcoin is NOT a distribution of wealth system. Bitcoin is simply a decentralized payment system, how it will be used and how this currency is going to be distributed has nothing to do with the design and it was never the goal of bitcoin.
Bitcoin can be used for many purposes, a payment method, a method for storage of value and more. Basically and initially, it is a mean of payment and I agree with you that it is a most important use case of Bitcoin. Other use cases are like derivatives from the initial one.

Quote
The goal was to create an alternative currency that can not be censored. And bitcoin does that well.
By design, it is decentralized. In reality it is decentralized too and Marathon Miners Have Started Censoring Bitcoin Transactions and failed, is a good example that censorship attack on Bitcoin network and transactions can not be successful.

Great job from Satoshi Nakamoto and great practice from Bitcoin miners globally.

Hi guys, i'm a new user in this forum and I just wanna know, how do I get merits on my post. Is it just by writing or are there any other task involved.

Also if there's any other thing I need to know about this forum rules and regulations Maybe, that'd be appreciated. Thank you and happy holidays
If you are new in forum, it's strange to know about merit. If you know about merit, you should know what it is and it is easily to see it with pinned (sticky) threads.

With above threads, you will know almost every basics in the forum but if you need more, let's Searching effectively

To add to the previous links shared by OmegaStarScream I suppose you can always also check here[1] for advertisement stats within the forum. Albeit at the moment there's no campaign running, the data keeps being updated and also sheds some light on the traffic that comes to the forum in a way.

[1]https://bitcointalk.org/adrotate.php?adstats
About 2 years ago, I made a chart for 2020 year-end report and one of charts is for forum ads stats.

After Round 353, ends in late September 2022, theymos suspend forum ad sales

1093  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to bitcointalk? Small advice to you. on: April 07, 2023, 02:18:46 PM
Forum does not need new topics about plagiarism, guides about it. There are many topics about it over many years.

What to do when you want to write a guide? Search first to find whether there are guides about it. If you find them, it's probably time to read them thoroughly and if you have no new idea to contribute, don't write yours.

Plagiarsism QA topics. I don't think new topics about plagiarism are necessary

[Guide] Searching effectively.
1094  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1% own 99% of BTC, 1% have 99% of power? on: April 07, 2023, 01:17:34 PM
I think I understand that the BTC blockchain can't be corrupted, because it would be too difficult to do.  But can't the 99% be exploited the 1% that own 99% of BTC?  BTC is a transfer of wealth to a different system.  Won't the 1% be able to exploit the 99%?
Exploit what?

Who does exploit others?

In fact, you can check the Top 100 richest Bitcoin addresses and I am sure there is no information that 99% bitcoin belongs to 1% addresses. Remember, we can not identify what addresses belong to a specific owner.

There is a Pareto principle that says 80% of assets belong to 20% richest people. It is biased by lost BTC in early days when people considered it is a joke and did not back up their private keys.

Power, I guess you implied about power on the network, by owning hash rate. You must have 51% of network total hash rate to attack their network. It's impossible. Cost is expensive and community, nodes, exchanges will do react to this very quickly.

How many Bitcoin confirmations is enough. Read it first and experience the calculator there https://jlopp.github.io/bitcoin-confirmation-risk-calculator/

i also checked now after waiting for ~10 minutes, and now it's showing, (and i changed my browser to from brave to chrome)
It does not take too long like 10 minutes, are you sure?

Quote
but is it normal to have this type of problem or event (no word in mind)?
It is normal from my experience. There is a lag between your merit stat on your profile page and your merit history page (for received and sent merit history).
  • The first place (profile page) usually has a lag of seconds or up to 1 minute to update. I am sure it won't take up to 10 minutes to update.
  • The second place (merit history page) is updated nearly instantly.
1096  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1XBIT.COM ᐉ 7 BTC WB ᐉ Altcoin Betting ᐉ no KYC ᕗ Instant payouts on: April 07, 2023, 10:15:44 AM
It amazes me that these obvious scammers still have the money, and guts, to run a signature campaign here, but still refuse to pay customers.

Why is that even allowed? There should be some form of line that should not be crossed in this forum.

If an obvious scam site is allowed to promote their service in this community that looks really bad. There will be people who register there because of seeing the add on bitcointalk. So they will see their negative experience in the same light as this forum.

Seriously, something should be done to avoid further people to be scammed, a red flag is not enough.
It's simple. Forum does not moderate scam in Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ
19. Possible (or real) scams and Trust ratings are not moderated (to prevent moderation abuse).

Frank advice for 1xbit team, if they have enough budget for marketing and are ready to pay for shit posters in signature campaign with zero value posts, they should handle their issues with past accusations.

I do believe that not all accusations are valid as cheaters can try to break their reputation when they see the account was red tagged. I don't think paying to all accusation is good but resolve valid cases is a good thing to do for 1xbit team to move onwards. If they have good service, want to rebuild it, attract more users and they will be able to hire much better participants for their campaign. Then they will gain better effects from their signature campaign.
1097  Economy / Gambling / Re: 💥 💥 💥 VIPCoin Casino 💥 💥 💥 Slots | Live Dealer games | Poker on: April 06, 2023, 02:40:16 PM
We decided to keep this thread instead of posting a new one, as the casino and almost everything on the site got completely re-worked and re-designed. That said, the casino can be looked at, as a new one.
It's good to continue your business with its history even your website was redesigned, revamped completely. It is hardly to trust new business because scam is very common in cryptocurrency space and cryptocurrency gambling sites. So with your old history, it means something for visitors of this thread and your website.

Management and the team behind it is the same and regarding the feedback, we are looking for it from scratch on our new platform.
To have good feedback for your website, you can run a review campaign. Good feedback means it can help your team to know what need to be improved. I don't mean good feedback is to write only good things about your site.

To have exposure in forum, you can run a signature campaign.

If you need a manager, feel free to drop me a DM.

Indeed, if we bet a large amount, our wins will also be large.
But is there a guarantee that if you bet a large amount, you will "definitely" win? Nothing right?
So if you are wise, you will not bet large amounts but only in moderation because gambling is not a place to make money but only for fun.
Reward for win bet depends on your input capital for that bet and the given odds for it. Of course, if you bet big, when you win, you will get big reward. However, there is another way to win big, bet small but choose high risk of loss with too high odds.

Basically, don't bet if you don't afford to lose your money, no matter it is big or small capital. If you are ready to bet, you should afford to lose it. The rich bet big and the poor bet small.

The wise gambler choose low odds to manage risk better and accept small win reward. It does not mean you always win if you choose low odds to bet, but it reduces risk of loss.

In the past, Leicester City in Premier League season 2015 - 2016 is a very interesting case for gamblers.

What is the biggest ever football bet?
Quote
The biggest single football bet ever landed was on the famous 5,000/1 offered by bookmakers on Leicester City winning the Premier League in 2015-16.

Claudio Ranieri’s men pulled off one of the biggest sporting shocks in history by winning the title, with one punter making over £72,000 from a £50 stake after cashing out in March.

Had the punter let his bet run for just a few more weeks, it would have paid out at £250,000.

Another backer of the 5,000/1 price, Leigh Herbert of Leicester, placed £5 on the unlikely event and cashed out £2 of that for £5,600 before the remaining £3 returned £15,000 in May – a total windfall of £20,600.
1099  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Btc mining or staking crypto? on: April 06, 2023, 10:21:13 AM
I plan on investing in the crypto space, but for long term. Between mining and staking, which one would be a better option?
It is better if your choice is Bitcoin.

With Bitcoin, let's get started by considering two options: Investing and Mining.

Mining is not as simple as you think and it requires inputs like ASICs, cheap enough electricity power source, location for your farm, human resources to config and observe ASIC operations as well as for maintenance. You should have technical knowledge to self-solve technical problems to save your time. And some other things like deep budget to survive through mining capitulation when market is very bad.

Investing is most easily thing to do. Just buy bitcoin and store it in non-custodial (self-custodial) wallet. Hold and wait it till days you can take profit.
1100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jamie Dimon CEO of Chase Bank on Banking Crisis on: April 06, 2023, 04:50:44 AM
Quantitative easing and dollar printing should stop at once.
Those things won't disappear in global economy. I use the word disappear to emphasize that it will exist in global economy forever. Stop, halt are kind of temporary not forever. Money printing and Quantitative Easing (QEs) are how global economy boosted by inflation created by governments and central banks.

Quote
You get money at a certain interest rate, and you lend that money to the businesses and commoners like us and earn the spread. So when you cost of raising funds increases, banks must not invest that money into low-ticket treasury bonds. You don't earn spreads. The situation worsens because FEB kept on increasing interest rates without thinking about the consequences.
You can earn interest with traditional low interest rate but when the rate is overheated, it leads to Inverted Yield Curve which is a main cause of bank collapse. SvB, Signature and other banks' collapses recently are latest examples for impacts from Inverted Yield Curve.

I believe those CEOs, CFOs do know about Inverted Yield Curve and its impacts but they were fooled by FED months ago as in many press conferences, they stated that interest rate won't be increased.

Fed holds interest rates steady near zero, says economy is still well below pre-pandemic levels (Nov 2020).
