1741  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How trading during bear market can save your portfolio on: July 23, 2022, 06:38:45 AM
Take for example if you bought Bitcoin when the price dropped to 19k by now you will be making 30% profits so here is my strategy i hold alot of ustd>buy during the dip sell buy buy and buy again since am holding large ustd.

Well let's look at a scenario when BTC dropped or the way to 13K, Would buying from 19K still look like a good idea according to your strategy? I doubt it would.

Well, I believe it depends on your perspective, I mean you can't help but to regret at some point if that happens after you bought a dip in that kind of scenario, but after all, a profit is a profit. Buying below $20,000 or even if it goes way low like $13,000 is a boss move, since no one really knows what's the lowest it could get.

That's why those who have a lot of money to buy dips below $20,000 do have the advantage to make profits in the long run.
1742  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tips for newbie to long-term investing on: July 23, 2022, 04:07:29 AM
If you wanted to invest in the safe zone, I suggest buying big coins like BTC, ETH, BNB, etc. By doing so, you could just let it sit in your wallet after buying and wait for the bull run to sell your coins to make profits in the long run. Buying at $20,000 is a steal and wait till it hits $68,000 again. But if you're still hesitating to buy, for sure you'll regret it when left you behind.
1743  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where is real pumps ? on: July 22, 2022, 03:17:46 PM
There's no fake pumps in the market, unless you're using a fake exchange. Dumps are real, we are in a bearish market so don't expect long pumps that will give you a very nice profit in a short period of time. What you need is patient, I'm guessing it's your first time trading and first time to experience a bearish market.

No matter what exchange you use, they'll just give you the same market price chart.
1744  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can trading be likened to gambling and how so? on: July 22, 2022, 11:40:41 AM
Trading and gambling involves risk, however, they have different level of risk. For me gambling is more wild and random, full of false hope and chances but less luck, while trading is the opposite of it, because with the right amount of knowledge the risk from the beginning will lessen. Trading is much worthy in my opinion, reading price charts is easier rather than relying on your luck in gambling.

Anyway, I believe it depends on a certain person on what he really wants to do.
1745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Have Donated My Campaign BTC to buy Laptop for Practical Classes on: July 20, 2022, 10:56:56 AM
Great job!

This is what the community/society  need out there, catching them young on the knowledge about cryptocurrency and the way forward about the phase our world is gradually metamorphosing to.

Am sure this is part of the objective of the founding fathers of this forum, and as such it's a great feeling seeing people like you using the privilege gained here and giving it back to society.

Indeed. It's really good to see post like this because it makes me believe that there are still many kind-hearted person out there, willing to help without expecting anything in return. With this movement, you can accomplish win-win scenarios wherein you get to spread awareness and knowledge about bitcoin that is beneficial for our community and at the same time, you are able to help those in need.

Your initiative might be an instrument for those people you have helped to discover and explore bitcoin too. And who know they might be successful in this field as well in the future. It's heartwarming that despite the hardships we face nowadays, people still do good deeds. Hopefully, you'll be able to continue what you're doing and help more people in the future. The campaigns are indeed helpful as extra source of income and could be allocated for a deeper purpose like this one.
1746  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and the future of crypto 10 years from now. on: July 20, 2022, 10:16:31 AM
In 10 years the market will be far bigger in terms of value, size and technological advancement. The market at that time will be more streamlined and more structured. The volatility of market might be lesser at that time and we will be looking at stable crypto market in future. A lot of shitcoins will be dead by than and there will be few do0minant players like bitcoin ruling the market.

I like the positive perspective you have there.

I also believe that bitcoin will be here to stay in the next few years. I think it will still exist 10 years from now and even more. This is because bitcoin already withstood the test of time. It has proven its potential to the pioneers and even to those who are new in bitcoin that after its fallback, it will always eventually bounce back. We have faced so many challenges already and still, bitcoin is here striving. There may be some time that the season isn't as great, but after a while, it goes back to normal. This is why we have to have enough patience and trust as well. Because it isn't always a good day in investing and trading.
1747  Economy / Gambling / Re: How do you know how to trust online sportsbooks? on: July 19, 2022, 12:12:39 PM
Hello everyone, I've been using online sportsbooks for a while now, but I wanted to know how do you know how to trust those sites? What do you look for in them, what are some red flags for you, that kind of stuff. Hope it makes sense and please share what are your favorite online sportsbooks.

I treat online bookmakers quite indifferently. Probably, the fact is that sport is simply not my area of interest. However, in answer to your question, my criteria are 1) Reliability (compliance with generally accepted criteria and quick responses to user complaints); 2) Coefficients (the smaller the margin, the higher the bookmaker's coefficients and score); 3) Convenience of payments (the number of payment methods and the speed of payments by the bookmaker).
I think - the best one can do is to check the reviews and comments on the forums and in public groups.
Even Reviews on the website are very important and helps in letting other people decide what to do and what not to do.
I think you are right because review helps to find out or indicate the problem and the fault of a particular sites. So I believe but way to search review which some company paid for participants in bitcointalk to help out and the chick how good and how bad is the company really help some people really research about the platform and also report back to the platform about their observation

since you are here in the forum, why not check their specific thread in this forum? you will get a very comprehensive discussion not only review of a specific site. you will also get other info that can't be read from these review sites. as the users are mostly posting without bias, you will get a good understanding on what's going on with the site. if the thread is not moderated, you will get unfiltered opinions and views, as well as actual experiences of their players.

This is a good suggestion.

If you don't trust gambling review site because of shilling and paid reviews, you can browse here in forum about gambling reviews which are not moderated to check unfiltered and unbiased reviews of the members from their first-hand experience of the gambling website. You can also check the thread in scams and accusations board to know if there are any issues about them and check it yourself how they handle the situation. In that instance, you can know if they are also good at after sales service or not which can help you decide whether it's worth the shot or not.
1748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can change of environment have an effect on gambling addiction. on: July 19, 2022, 11:40:47 AM
Environment can affect many things in the lifestyle of someone. It can affect the way the person reasons, it can affect the way the person behaves and also affect the type of business someone does.
If a drug addict goes to a Sane environment where there is no drug to buy, he will suffer for sometime and gradually adapt to the new environment. Same thing can be said of gambling. But with online gambling and a forum like this, a gambling addict will not change since he could always come online.

Point taken. Environmental changes could really make someone ponder and reflect on some things. Perhaps it could also alleviate the urge in some people to do the usual things they do because of the situation. An entirely new environment means they have limited option and ways to do their hobby. Hence, they are forced to adapt from the sudden transition of their surroundings.

However, addressing the issue just on the tip of it will not solve it totally. Gambling addiction is a serious case. It shouldn't be taken lightly and it should be addressed from the roots to treat and completely heal it. It's not an overnight process. If we're just going to change environment, eventually, a person addicted in gambling will find his way to go back in gambling.
1749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This clearly damage the gambling. on: July 19, 2022, 11:10:19 AM
I don't think that its only in the lower leagues, despite sportsbook lower limit settings and fewer markets for less popular leagues. I think that there are other systems in play which are different than in the lower leagues because it would not work for the bigger ones. And if thats true then the systems would be more incognito, more anonymous more shrouded and completely made oblivious because there are many more eyes watching.

Regardless of that technical analysis of yours, do you really think that someone or some teams in the higher leagues will risk their respective career and reputation just to receive money thru a fixed match? If proven true, there are heavy sanctions and possibly be thrown out and banned from that league forever if they will attempt to make the game rigged.

The risks are not worth there as the consequences are too big.

I also doubt it's easy to decide for these players or teams to agree to do it.

Not saying that fixed matches won't happen in big leagues but safe to assume that the cases are just isolated ones and can't be generalized as a big case and issue in higher leagues. I know there are lots of controversies involving higher leagues "before" but some actions are already made. I also can't compare the situation before to the current one.

I agree with this. It's close to impossible and if ever, there's only a low chance of it happening because these teams who already made a name and great reputation would certainly endanger what they have for a money they could totally earn multiple times in the future in clean games. You're right that the moment the higher authorities responsible for the game being fair and square would know that the game is rigged, surely they would impose sanctions and punishment for them. Perhaps they would make them fine hefty amount too if proven that the game is fixed.

So for me, it's not really worth it and it could even cost them their career. It's still the best to fight fairly to let the audience know that they supported the right league because they have clean conscience and they fight fair and just.
1750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: People are not only gambling to win but they are buying entertainment on: July 19, 2022, 05:40:51 AM
That is good - if the gambler keep their money separate but a person like me who is very bad in money management might loose all the saving in one go.
Money matter and things don't go as they plan too - So I am not sure if people keep a cushion of that leak as well.
If you feel you can't manage your finances yet, you should start learning from now on, especially if the money is going to be used for gambling. This is to avoid using most of the money you have improperly, which can lead to disruption of money management for other things. And if you have started to be able to manage your money, you will not find it difficult to manage the money you want to use for gambling.

Or if we are to be straightforward in this regard, I would say that if you don't have the capacity to manage your finances you better not be involved in gambling. In gambling, your poor money management might translate into losing everything. Or if you don't have this money management skills but you still want to gamble, then avoid online casinos. Stick to land-based casinos and don't bring cards. Bring only the little amount you are willing to lose. But again I recommend more on avoiding gambling.

This is a good advice. If you know it to yourself that you are not good in handling your finances, then it's much better to rethink about entering and playing gambling. Gambling requires self-discipline and restraint and if someone doesn't possess those, the results could very much equate to chaos because of losses. Financial and risk management is essential in gambling. If you don't know how to properly allocate your funds and if you don't know when to continue or stop playing, then most probably you'll end up losing and go bankrupt.

Someone must first master discipline before diving into gambling since gambling addiction is no joke.
1751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion] Should Gambling be Banned? on: July 18, 2022, 12:01:53 PM
Why ban it? Anything that seems risky and dangerous needs to banned? Lets ban knives and forks and even drinking anything besides water. In fact, lets ban everything.

Gambling is fun. To me, its just an activity to have fun. Its fun because its risky. Sometimes you win sometimes you lose but you need to always understand that no matter what happens, its not a career and its not a lifestyle. Of course there are people who take it too far and become addicted and irresponsible but just because a few such people exist does not mean everyone should have to sacrifice their own freedom just to protect those few.

Unfortunately, the government is like that, If they saw something that they perceived as harmful, they would ban it and make it illegal eventually. Which just makes the situation even worse because now, the people are going to find alternative ways on how to continue doing that illegally. And this makes it even more unsafe for those people because they are now transacting and playing secretly so they won't be punished by the law.

Gambling isn't a bad thing like how they usually paint it to be. It is a kind of recreation activity wherein people get to relax and enjoy at the same time have the opportunity to earn while they are playing. It's just that some people do not know how to set boundaries and limitations. Hence, they fall into addiction. In gambling, it's a matter of self-discipline and restraint. If you don't possess that then you should think twice before entering gambling.

1752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can You See Or Tell If A Fight Or Event Is Fix ? on: July 18, 2022, 11:16:44 AM
eventually we gets more matured and understand how to spot a value based on the line movement.
That's what we should achieve as a gambler, complaining about fixed games is bad, we should already see that it could happen anytime so we can anticipate the kind of approach we will do in betting. Smart bettors are happy with fixed games as they know which side will win most of the time, we should be smart.

Why is it bad to complain about fixed games when fixed games should not exist in the first place?

In gambling, we risk many things. Despite knowing that you should only risk what you can afford to lose, it's still unfair for the majority who are betting fair and square if the game they are betting on is already fixed. Because fixed games means that even before the game starts, there's already a winner. Making fixed games is lying to the audience and to the supporters which these teams and organizers get profit from. If it weren't for them, they wouldn't be where they are. No supporters of a game or betting means no source of income for them. So, why would you go that far knowing that you are betraying those who only want a clean game and betting?

In addition, these people who do betting are allocating their time and effort to watch and analyze the situation. They are using their minds in thinking which is the right bet for them to win. And those efforts would all be put to waste if the game is already decided in the very beginning. If I am a gambler and I knew that the game is fixed, provided that I am fighting fairly, it would really anger me. Smart bettors that you are pertaining to aren't really smart. They are just greedy and they don't have the capability to distinguish which is the perfect pick, hence resorting to fixed games.
1753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Most Expensive Thing Bought with Winnings from the Casino or Sport Bet on: July 18, 2022, 10:22:10 AM

What is the most expensive thing you've bought with your winnings from a casino or sports bet that you've never used or used only a few times or even maybe regretted buying?

For me, it's a cellphone it has a good spec and is top of the line but unfortunately I only used it for a week as my daughter's phone was broken and she needs a new one for her distance learning I have no choice but to give it to her as I have no more money to buy a new phone for her, but no regret I made her happy and she got good grades she fulfills her promise that she will get good grades if give her my phone.

It's a good thing that a casino money winnings was able to be put into good use. No matter how hard we deny it, a good gadget such as phone is really needed now in everyday lives. Back then, it's only a luxury, but now it's already a necessity since the world is advancing and so are the ways to do things. In addition, the pandemic really forced us to adapt and adjust in the changes. Most especially those people who are working and studying.

The use of electronics is really needed in work from home set up as well in distant learning because the modality is usually online or flexible learning such as mixed of online set up and the traditional one or via learning manuals or modules. It's not totally unfortunate that you were only able to use the phone for a week because your daughter is now using it and specifications are still being utilized.

I guess it's just really innate in parents to sacrifice for the betterment of welfare of their children. I hope you can buy yourself a new phone soon if you'll have another chance to accumulate winning prizes in gambling and extra in your other source of income.
1754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Fengshui on: July 18, 2022, 09:21:14 AM
So you see even if everything depends on luck and circumstances there are many people even non-Chinese are following Fengshui practices.

Since it's luck maybe these people are finding ways how to make that luck comes to them.

Not wrong after all as what if, even though there's no explanation about it, they are really lucky to using those feng-shui practices.

I guess we just have to leave it that way and let them do what they want.

We just need to leave it that way and let them believe in something that increases their hope of winning,

There are people who act or believe like that and there's nothing to be bother they have their own mindsets about believing
in this kind of mystery or additional luck enhancement. Oh well, I don't know how to label, but to the gamblers that uses it
they are in the position that it can add winning to their gambling.

Everyone is free to do whatever they think can increase the chances of winning when gambling. As long as what we do is not breaking the gambling
rules and not cheating the casino,  it seems there is nothing to stop us from believing in the practice of Fengshui. So just do what we think can
increase our confidence to win, and something like fengshui practice that can allow us to increase our self-confidence would be very good to do.
But of course don't force others to believe what we believe, because everyone has their own way which is believed to bring luck when gambling.

You have a valid point. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and to believe what they think would do good to them. If someone is a superstitious person, then be it as long as he isn't stooping on someone else's right. And as long as they are playing fair, clean, and right, we're not in the position to judge or stop them. After all, there are just people who are very traditional and we can't blame them most especially if that is the kind of upbringing they grew into.

I know a lot of people who consider Fengshui in most things particularly in financial aspect. There's no harm in actually believing or doing it if that's what they want and if that's what would bring them peace of mind. After all, in gambling, luck still plays a role so perhaps there's a little hope in them that doing such will give them higher edge and chance of winning.
1755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Profitable are Gambling Bots? on: July 18, 2022, 08:35:57 AM
I am very skeptical about the use of bots in gambling.

My (small) experience with such bots is extremely negative.  I lost a lot of money in an online casino very quickly.

The use of bots in gambling has accelerated the process of losing money!

To be honest, it didn't make me very happy.  I expected more efficiency from using bots.

It is possible that there are brilliant developers who are able to create bots that increase the chances of winning in an online casino.  However, in this case, these developers are more likely to operate such bots themselves (rather than sell them to other players).
To be honest, using bot will never be able to guarantee that you can make a profit, everything requires a process that can't be done only by using bot, sometimes bot can be set by the developer to get defeated and will make the user lose. Gambling is more exciting and fun when you do it without using bot.

Now that you've mentioned it, indeed it's possible that developers actually use bots as bait to make the players lose and let the house gain.

I agree with you that bots do not really guarantee a winning from a casino or gambling website because the bots just also basically do what the humans can. I doubt if they really can improve the probability of winning to a great extent that you'll have a greater chance of winning the bet because bots were commonly use to be a form of assistance. And not every gambling platform actually allows the usage of it so the player must know the terms and conditions otherwise he would be banned from gambling and has the tendency to lose the initially deposit made or the winnings prior to using bots.
1756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can change of environment have an effect on gambling addiction. on: July 18, 2022, 07:58:33 AM
^

I absolutely agree with your opinion. The Internet has made gambling more widespread and promoted. But even if there were no Internet we would play cards or dice in the kitchen at night. Mankind has been gambling since ancient times, as evidenced by the dice that have been found more than a thousand years old.

Internet has got nothing to do with it except making it easier for many people to access gambling if they wanted to.A fun example would be from what I have learned from locals where I live that during the communist era that run for near 50 years here people still gambled despite it being illegal and you could get in jail for several years if caught. The gamblers here played at that time near a football club place of training and they were caught by the police who were wearing the uniform of that soccer team and put all of them to jail. This didn't stop as gamblers still continued to gamble no matter these high risks,it means it is true gambling is in our nature and we can't stop it no matter how hard we try.

Well, internet really did take part in promoting gambling to become widely known and used by people. Since almost everything is in the internet already, it paved way for easier access and of course, easier promotion of gambling in different websites and platforms. We can't really deny that gambling become more widespread in this modern times but it's also prevalent even way back.

Although for sure, even if the internet would be gone, people will still find ways to gamble to satisfy their need for it. Most especially those people who are already dependent on gambling.
1757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Fengshui on: July 16, 2022, 04:47:10 PM
How about you? Do you have Fengshui practice that you're observing when you are about to play or while playing

People gamble according to different superstitions and beliefs. However, in my opinion, gambling is based solely on mathematics and probability. Of course, some situations are exceptionally fortunate, but they really have nothing to do with beliefs, and when something like this does happen, it is just a coincidence.

Gambling is indeed all about mathematics and probability. But of course, luck and odds also play into it in some instances. Perhaps these people who believe in fengshui just really have a strong sense of traditional belief and thinking and for me there's nothing wrong with it. Maybe some people just boost their confidence if they have something to hold onto. After all, we're all different. We do things differently and we repeatedly execute what we think is effective and beneficial for us. It will just boil down on respect of anyone's choices and preferences on how they want to gamble.
1758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to know a good bounty on: July 16, 2022, 04:04:13 PM
This is hard to answer since bounty hunting is all about luck based on my experience. A good manager handling a bounty doesn't mean the project is great, it could go around in the end. Even if they had a good whitepaper and great partnerships with some companies, they could still turn out to be a scam in the end or if not, their coin is garbage. It's all about trial and error.
1759  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do real traders care about bear & bull market? on: July 16, 2022, 03:27:52 PM
Professional traders doesn't care about the market if it's bearish or bullish, it's just the same in my opinion, as long as the price chart is there, either bullish or bearish, they're gonna analyze that and make profits whatever the market situation is, simple as that. It's all about experience, and knowledge, if you know what you're doing, then you're surely gonna make money in any kind of situations.
1760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This clearly damage the gambling. on: July 16, 2022, 01:00:00 PM
It's a common thing in the lower class leagues, don't worry about it. If you are a person who likes to bet on football matches, as much as possible you should stay away from matches that are in the lower leagues. Although something like this can also happen in top-class leagues (for example the case of Juventus in the past), but it is unlikely that something like that will happen there. Now, I want to ask you. Is the match in the video a Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match? not of course, right? Grin

I won't say that it's not happening in the high tier of sports league, I'm sure it's happening as well but it's just not going out because of their connections and money. Match fixing can't be prevented especially the other party offers more money than the pool prize, it's all about title and dignity vs. money. Practical people will choose money, always. So betting in any form of gambling is really risky, because the highest possibility is losing always.
