1881  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Andre August - December 15th in Florida on: November 10, 2023, 11:27:02 PM
I watched Jake Paul’s newest YouTube video and there was some mention by him that he’s not trying to secure paydays anymore and that’s why this opponent is who he is. He’s trying to fight pros with more experience so he can continue learning and moving towards a legitimate title fight. That explains why he’s fighting a guy who is currently employed as an Uber driver.

Stocks shooting up today along with Bitcoin. Looks like investors are expecting and end of the year rally and positioning themselves to benefit from it. Tech stocks seem to be doing rather well, so it wouldn’t be crazy to think Bitcoin could continue its rally for a bit longer. As ETF approvals near it will be interesting to see if it’s a buy the rumor sell the news situation or not.

Zweig Breadth Thrust (ZBT) indicator was triggered on S&P, according to this stocks should continue going up for a while. IMHO

I’m not familiar with that indicator. Care to elaborate and save me the Google search? I’m not 100% clear why the market suddenly decided to rally. I’m guessing the bond market signaling that rate cuts are in the future and not increases is the culprit. Pretty much everyone can see the global economy is in shambles and are expecting stimulus soon. Dangerous game when the government is pushing for a recession.
1883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: November 10, 2023, 11:21:18 PM
The only game that I’ll probably pay attention to today is the Suns vs Lakers. Anthony Davis is listed as probable but is still suffering from groin issues which might hurt him considering Nurkic is a bit of a banger. The Suns are still hurting with injuries too but I think they’ve been playing better basketball than the Lakers. With them getting only a -2.5 point spread, I’m tempted to bet them to cover.

Well, it has happened. I got contacted by someone I know to pitch me on a shitcoin. That typically means the rally is about over with for now and a correction is due. Will that happen? Not sure. The first sign of a top is in for me personally though. As for my buddy, they’re betting the farm on SOL, which they also did at its peak in 2021. So I’m slightly less bullish now than I was yesterday, but long term I feel we’re still looking good.

I am going to have to respectfully disagree... I am still waiting on a buddy of mine to ask me to buy him Bitcoin again.. He's been a reliable indicator of when ATH will be in!... Predicted the last 2 ATH.

Yes, I have a buddy like that as well and so far he has been silent. However, the pitching of a shitcoin by an acquaintance is definitely a red flag for me that the shitcoin market is getting hot in the short term. When I start getting Facebook messages from friends telling me they’re buying Bitcoin then I’ll feel like the ATH is near, but that’s still probably a ways off.
1886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is anyone saw mempool right now? Mempool spam on: November 10, 2023, 04:52:55 AM
This isn’t really a problem because very few people actually transact using BTC anymore. The store of value narrative has to be what carries Bitcoin into the future because it is not as useful as a p2p currency as most other options. Maybe this is a feature and the cost of transacting in Bitcoin is worth it, but the shit will have to hit the fan first so we can see.

That’s why I stayed away from betting the Bucks today. They should be able to easily beat the Pacers but they’re just not playing good basketball right now. I can’t bet on them until they get some sort of an offense together. Giannis is the most dominant player in the league but giving him the ball and hoping he can dunk it every time is not a good strategy.
1889  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Getting losses, Take a break and just focus on Bitcoin. on: November 09, 2023, 11:30:20 PM
If you know what Bitcoin is and you’ve managed to somehow take losses investing this year, you are a special sort of trader… With Bitcoin up more than 100% nobody should be able to say they’ve lost a penny. If they did, they’re clearly doing it wrong. Just stack BTC. It isn’t brain surgery. It’s the best performing investment in human history. Stop trying to outpace it.
1890  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: November 09, 2023, 10:40:15 PM
I’m staying away from the bets today. The Bucks haven’t been playing great and the odds aren’t there to bet either side. Sometimes the best way to win is to not play. With Dame shooting terribly and Giannis seemingly having his issues with the change of PG I don’t feel confident they can win every night regardless of their opponent.
1891  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [POLL] Do you eat tacos on Taco Tuesday? on: November 09, 2023, 10:36:07 PM
Interesting to hear that Taco Tuesday is an American thing. I had no idea. It is big here though. For example, the place I go usually sells tacos for $3.99, but they sell them on Tuesdays for $1.79 which usually results in a line around the lot. The tacos are quite basic though. Typically just beef, cheese, and lettuce with a side of hot sauce.

I have always assumed it was a custom from.the United States, for reference I am from Venezuela and here we do not have any custom about eating specific sort of food depending on the day of the week, it only happens when we celebrate very known seasons or holidays, like Eastern, Christmas, etc.
I have also read and seen on Television that American Highschool also have their own version of Taco Tuesdays.

By the way, for that price obviously any taco you get would be simple, but getting a couple of tacos as lunch for a little bit over 3 Dollars sounds quite reasonable. It would the the sort of thing people would try to get here, in order to save money.

Ya, saving money is probably why Taco Tuesday has become insanely popular here recently. The taco place I go to just actually raised their Taco Tuesday prices from $0.99 to $1.79 (Bidenflation) and it’s still a huge deal. I get 3 every Tuesday and it comes out to $5.84 after taxes. That’s about how much I usually tip the DoorDash delivery guy…

although I listed some for sale at $39,876.50

i listed some for sale too, but at ~$120k usd

Yeah I ladder up a bit .

39k
49k
75k

85k
95k
105k

115k
125k
135k

$120k - $135k is not even 2x and those numbers should have been reached previous bullrun. This time another halving with tighter supply and ETF's in play. Add $50k - $100k on top of your bearish outcome.

today I made 30 posts. so I guess the bull has me going.

My projection is 500k for this cycle in fall of 2025.

48 k end of 2023
70k right at the 1/2 ing
111k Dec 2024
500k dec 2025

Advertising money laundering and selling your BTC right before the largest market cap increase in the existence of crypto… Who are you and what have you done to philipma1957? Something has clearly gone horribly wrong here. Blink twice if you need someone from the community to come rescue you from a basement somewhere.

1894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Holding for long might not be the best option. on: November 09, 2023, 08:25:35 AM
My suggestion to those who haven’t been around a long time or don’t understand WHY Bitcoin is valuable is this… Think of Bitcoin like a subscription service or a union. You pay your dues monthly (stacking coins) to be a member and in turn you get to be a Bitcoiner. When the shit hits the fan you will be protected and have the ability to spend. That’s what you’re paying for. Talking about trading to get rich is like saying you’re going to keep cancelling and signing up for Netflix to get rich. It just doesn’t work that way.
1895  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 09, 2023, 07:39:08 AM
I’ve never been called a wimpy BTC investor before, but I like it. I don’t have a system. I just stack BTC. Been stacking since before I had grey hair. Still drive the same car. Still live in the same house. I do intend to spend a little on a Cybertruck, but other than that I don’t have much need to part with my BTC. Pretty sure I don’t even remember my wallet password anymore. I think I still have some BTC somewhere though.
1896  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 09, 2023, 05:26:18 AM
Just sold some at 36303 coinbase.

no it was 36363

maybe we go past 37k

we peaked at about 36633

Selling?!?! WTF my dude. If there’s one thing I learned early on with Bitcoin, it’s that it’s better to wait and sell on the way down then to sell on the way up. You’re no newbie to the 4 year cycle. Surely you must be expecting BTC to hit deep into six figure territory 18 months from now. Does this mean you aren’t dollar cost averaging anymore?
1897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Andre August - December 15th in Florida on: November 09, 2023, 05:23:07 AM

Paul is making boxing a joke, no one ever heard of Andre August til he announced this fight. For all we know he just paid this guy in advance $50.000 to sleep whenever he do his signature move.
While I agree that both the Paul's are giving boxing a bad name, someone must be enjoying watching cause they do ok in the PPV market. It's really no different than McGregor and Mayweather, people found a way to get paid with some popular figures going at it. The only way it stops is if people stop paying for it, but thats not going to happen.

I don’t think Jake Paul is giving boxing a bad name. He’s putting in the work and matching up against better and better opponents. I won’t be surprised in another couple years when he gets a legitimate shot at a title.

I looked up his opponent as well. Dude seems like a legit boxer. While I’d prefer to see Jake beat up celebrities, you can’t hate on him for doing his best to have a legitimate professional boxing career.
1898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 09, 2023, 05:20:58 AM
This Warriors vs Nuggets game is coming down to the wire. I’ve been watching the game and I have no idea how the Warriors have been staying in it. The Nuggets are beating them in basically every category and outplaying them, but for some reason it’s a 1 point game with a couple minutes left. I think the refs giving them a ton of trips to the free throw line is the only area the Warriors are shining.
1899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 09, 2023, 02:27:38 AM
The Timberwolves are making the Pelicans look dumb tonight. They’ve got a 30 point lead in the 3rd quarter. I guess the Pelicans need Zion on the floor, but he’s having his first kid tonight which is definitely more important.

The Lakers are embarrassing themselves against the Rockets as well. Rui is the only guy on the squad doing anything.
1900  Economy / Speculation / Re: back in 2015 we had a nice pre 1/2 ing streak. on: November 09, 2023, 01:51:36 AM
I think when it comes to comparing historical norms, this cycle is going to be more than most people are expecting just because of the FTX fraud and how it depressed market prices for Bitcoin artificially. The true extent of this won’t probably be realized until 2025, but I think it’s likely to show up in larger than expected gains the entire way there.
