I don't agree that a player has to score a lot of goals to get more attention, in this case a contract. I personally don't think a player has to score goals, but contributing greatly to the team's play is also very good. I don't deny that they need to score goals to win games, but for me personally, I don't care who scores, because it's a team game, not an individual game.
If our standard is to look at players by how many goals they score, then we will never see the genius midfielders that we have now.
Actually you're wrong, most of people who received Ballon d'Or are strikers and the highest goal is sexier than the highest assist.

A good midfielder do receive some attention especially manager who want to recruit a good player. But when it comes to statistic, striker is better than any other positions.

PR awards have little to do with the game. Another thing is that the media component of football as a business is of great importance and because of this, strikers always cost more than everyone else because they attract more attention, although their contribution to the game may be even less than that of midfielders (or goalkeepers). The most striking example is Messi, who was promoted at the expense of Xavi, Iniesta and Co. and actually stole all their merits for himself.

It is quite remarkable that if Aston Villa wins, Tottenham will be out of the top 4, but just recently (2 rounds ago) Tottenham was in first place. But it’s hard for me to believe in such an outcome, since three defeats in a row would be too unfair for Tottenham. I hope they stay in the title race. Overall, we are looking forward to a great tour with three big games at once.
By experiencing consecutive defeats in the last 2 matches, the mentality of the Tottenham team will definitely decline, especially since they lost the top of the standings. Aston Villa is a very strong team this season so I think it is possible that they can beat or hold Tottenham to a draw.
In this match, the Tottenham team's mentality was really tested, if they fail to recover then it is certain that they are not ready to compete fiercely at the top of the standings in the race for the title.
~

It’s hard to say for sure because for really good teams, failure acts as an additional motivator. Aston Villa are consistently good (for their status) and for example last year they finished 7th while Tottenham 8th. In the upcoming game, Tottenham have the status of favorites, but their advantage is tiny and can only be attributed to the fact that Tottenham is playing at home:

2.32 - 3.80 - 2.82
1943  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: November 16, 2023, 05:56:01 PM
The fact about Xavi Alonso is he is still a young coach and he is not experienced a lot which means this coach can even have better performance if he gets experienced and starts working in some other teams.
Maybe that's a good reason to say other teams like Real Madrid and even Bayern Munich are going to show even more interest in hiring Xabi Alonso soon.

For top clubs, to some extent, the main requirement for a coach is that he does not spoil anything in the first place. It is difficult to expect (with such a composition and dominance as, for example, Bayern) a result in the national championship other than the title. The figure of the coach is not very important here. On the other hand, in the Champions League there are no guarantees even for the top team and top coach (for example, City and the paper best coach Guardiola). Therefore, if we think logically, there is nothing wrong with hiring a young coach (who has already proven himself).
1944  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: November 16, 2023, 05:49:03 PM

With the addition of one goal in Atletico's victory in last week's match against Villarreal, Antonio Griezzman is now in 2nd place for the temporary top scorer in La Liga. Antonio Griezzman is only 2 goals behind Jude Bellingham who is currently in first place with 10 goals and it looks like the competition for the golden boot this season will be even more exciting.

We can see that the goal difference between several players is not that big and the season is still long, which will really determine who is entitled to the title of top scorer this season. On the other hand, I still favor Alvaro Morata in this competition considering that every season he is always productive, especially since he is the main pillar in Altletico's attack line. What is quite strange is that there are no names of players from Barcelona and as we know last season Robert Lewandowski was the winner of this award.

Apparently those who compiled this rating had problems with free space, because there are three more players who scored 7 goals: Budimir, Mayoral, Lewandowski. It's hard to say who will win the golden boot, since Bellingham and Griezmann are midfielders, Lewandowski is in decline, Morata is consistently inconsistent (haha), and the rest are not players of dominant clubs.

Isn't it too early to assume that 1/8 will be easy? After all, any team from Group F plus Atletico or Napoli could become Bayern's opponent there. All of these teams (including PSG) will be underdogs against Bayern, but I wouldn't say that no one will have a chance.
In the game with Heidenheim, there was indeed an unexpected comeback, but in the end it was only an opportunity for live bettors to make a profitable bet.

I didn't say "easy" and I also didn't mean to say it. I rather wanted to imply that I am positive about their chances foe the 1/8 although it could already be quite a hard game, but when they face Real Madrid or Manchester City, or also Inter Milan, that would be the games I am really looking forward to because I have my doubts as they are a weird team at times. They can at one moment destroy the opponent, and in the next moment destroy themselves. I think this works against teams that are not top-notch because they can compensate for it by scoring many goals (as we have seen against Galatasaray), but against the heavy weights this could be the end for them quickly.

Now I understand you. I agree that Bayern's level is not yet clear in games with strong opponents. In the Bundesliga they had problems with both Bayer Leverkusen (2-2) and Leipzig (loss in the Super Cup 0-3) so it is reasonable to assume that even if Kane continues to score, playing against Real Madrid or City his efforts may not be enough as the opponent will score even more goals than Bayern. I’m also waiting for top pairs, but as always, it’s unlikely that anything will start before 1/4. For now there is entertainment in F's group.
1946  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: November 16, 2023, 05:35:55 PM
Much will depend on how the draw goes and at what stage the favorites start playing with each other. In general, if you look at which teams have qualified (or will do so in the remaining two rounds), then for the winner this could be one of the easiest Champions Leagues in history: in Group F, two strong teams will be eliminated immediately at the group stage, Liverpool and Chelsea are not in the tournament. In fact, a favorite can reach the final without ever playing against a team that is comparable in strength to it, we wouldn’t call Sociedad or Feenoord equal opponents.
They dominated in the group stage, and even now they are very comfortable because the remaining 2 matches will not affect them in the group A standings. But more than that, the real test is in the knockout rounds that they will soon play. They will meet the top seeds of the other groups, maybe some teams are not big favorites, but that does not mean they are not a threat to Bayern Munich. That's talking about not the top teams, it will be a different story when they have to meet teams that are equal or even stronger than them, Real Madrid and Manchester City for example and several other teams.

According to the rules of the draw, the team that takes first place will have to play the team that took second place, so really strong opponents should not face Bayern in 1/8. Naturally, this does not mean that Bayern will automatically receive a ticket to the quarter-finals, I think everyone remembers how Villarreal unexpectedly knocked Bayern out of the tournament the season before last. But still, I assume that for some of the favorites this season will be the easiest in history.
1947  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: November 16, 2023, 05:28:10 PM
It also looks like it will be difficult for Napoli to win the match, especially since Atalanta is also playing at home and will play optimally not to lose points, I think this is a difficult match for Napoli seeing that this season Napoli is not playing as well as last season and we all saw that there their performance has decreased and it is also possible that it will be difficult to chase the title this season.

The bad results obtained by Napoli in several matches are not very satisfying, making people feel unsure about Napoli's current ability and strength. To beat Atalanta at home, of course they need to fight hard to win, Rudi Garcia must be able to put pressure on his team to get good results. Also remembering that Rudi Garcia may have a lot of pressure from supporters to make Napoli better and more consistent.

The teams are close neighbors in the standings and their statistics are also similar, so bookmakers see this game as equal:

2.66 - 3.45 - 2.62

But I will most likely (depending on how successful I am in betting on national team games) bet on Napoli because the change of coach should spur the team. At least in the short term, Napoli must play at their best. And 2.62 is a good compensation for the risk.
1948  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: November 16, 2023, 05:22:18 PM
Sweden national team during this qualification was really bad and probobly one of the worst qualifactions from them in a long time. This match against Azerbajian is only for confidence because they dont have any chance to go through. Probobly a good match to test some new players and see how they adopt in the team.

Apparently the test is going badly because I see that by the 15th minute Azerbaijan is winning 2-0. But in reality, I understand that it is difficult for players to find motivation for games that no longer decide anything while national championships are in full swing.
But there is a plus in such games - betters can bet against the favorite and hope that the demotivated favorite will unexpectedly lose.

In terms of intrigue, a 1-1 result or a Juventus victory would be the ideal outcome of this game. If Inter wins, it will practically be the end of the race for the title. Otherwise, Milan and Napoli will have a chance to join the race again. Although in the next round Milan plays Fiorentina, and Napoli plays Atalanta, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they lose points.
A rare case, but the next tour will be a tour where all the top 6 teams play among themselves.

I have honestly never considered a Juventus Turin loss in this game as the end of the title race. If that was the case, it could have been called a day whenever a team was 5 points ahead in any league. It would still be a 2-ball game. Juventus Turin could just get back in track and keep winning their games and there is only one loss needed and Inter Milan would be in striking distance. I agree that it would destroy a lot of the excitement in the league for the moment, but it would not mean the title for Inter just yet.

Theoretically, you can lose any advantage, but if Inter wins now, I think their quotes will be about 1.4. And this will be quite logical - 13 games + won personal matches is a distance where luck has very little meaning and it is difficult to blame the current situation in the tournament on it. If one team is better than others in such a segment, then it will be more likely that after completing another similar segment, its advantage will increase. But I agree that it won’t be exactly the end, but close to it.

As Turkey have guaranteed qualifying from the group it is really very hard to predict how they would play against Wales in the last match away. I'm very happy for us to have managed to qualifying from this group. I'm expecting Croatia and Wales both to win tomorrow. However it wouldn't be an easy away match for Wales against Armenia.

For Wales, even a home game with Turkey will be difficult, because although Turkey has already qualified and does not have much motivation, they can play without any pressure and I doubt that they will give victory to Wales. The situation in Group D is in favor of Croatia - they have two easy matches left, while Wales have two difficult ones.

Munich really doesn't seem to be having the slightest difficulty in group A, because I know they are very experienced in the UCL so maybe they can win the UCL this season, it's just that they have to get rid of Madrid and Manchester City first so they can reach the final and lift the trophy, no There are many clubs that look more convincing than these three clubs which are very strong in playing in the UCL.

Tuchel's current task is to make Munich play better, especially with Kane on the front line who makes Munich always perform well and always score goals at home to the opponent, he is like a goal machine that is hard to stop, he even scores almost a goal in every Munich match, Tuchel must maintain the performance of the other players so that they remain in good condition in undergoing the next round in the UCL. as long as they are consistent they can definitely succeed in lifting the trophy this season

Much will depend on how the draw goes and at what stage the favorites start playing with each other. Yes, Stuttgart's victory was a surprise for me (but not fatal because I know what Dortmund is like). I was also surprised at how low Union fell - 0:4, this seems to be an abnormal result, even taking into account the fact that now these clubs are at different poles of the standings.
Bayern have liked to concede goals in recent seasons, this is a normal result, although I was betting on a clear victory.

Bayern concedes goals more than they should, but there is a difference if they lead the game 4-0 and then concede the 4-1 and 4-2 or if they are about to lose points after a 2-0 lead in their home stadium against a team that was promoted the 2. Bundesliga just a few months ago. That should not happen and they should have more control during those games when they are already in the pole position like that. Against other teams this is more likely to be punished.

Can't wait to see Bayern play in the next round of the Champions League. The round of 16 should not be too hard for them, but after that I am really curious to see how they will be doing now that they also have Harry Kane being in great shape.

Isn't it too early to assume that 1/8 will be easy? After all, any team from Group F plus Atletico or Napoli could become Bayern's opponent there. All of these teams (including PSG) will be underdogs against Bayern, but I wouldn't say that no one will have a chance.

It seems to me that Xabi Alonso will move to Real Madrid without much hesitation. Firstly, with Bayer it is more difficult to maintain the top level that everyone now expects from him (no matter how Bayer plays further). Secondly, Real Madrid is close to building a team that can dominate Europe in the coming years. What is better - to try to jump over your head every season with Bayer or to really fight for victory in all tournaments with Real Madrid? It may be “safer” to stay at Bayer since failure at Real Madrid will be perceived as an unacceptable failure (unlike an ordinary club where failure may even be the norm), but if Xabi is ambitious, then he should try to work at Real Madrid.

Xabi Alonso was a great player. And yes, he is no stranger to La Liga football. He has played for Real Madrid for a long time. And he also did a really good job at that as well. I do not think that assuming he is going to become the coach of Real Madrid is actually dumb. And after all the results that he has been able to bring in with his current team, Leverkusen, I think he will be able to do very well with Real Madrid if given the chance. Of course, if Real Madrid actually wants to get him, they are definitely going to get him. He should be a good coach to actually take the responsibility right after Anoti.

I also hope that everything will work out for him in Real Madrid. On the one hand, he is very young for such a high position, but on the other hand, if you look at his achievements (two Champions Leagues with different clubs + a World Cup and two European titles), you can see that dominance is something he has been familiar with for a long time. Plus, how steep a path he had as a player will make his authority as a coach undeniable.

Urs Fischer is coach at Union Berlin since 2018. He achieved promotion and managed to play internationally. But it seems he is not the right coach for the current crisis. Okay, I have already written it here, the problems are also due to the transfer policy during the summer break. But Union Berlin should slowly start scoring 3 points again. The international break should be used intensively to prepare for the next game.

In the next round, Union plays Augsburg and this is the best opportunity to start doing this. By the way, Augsburg is not so bad (they have only 4 defeats, one more than Stuttgart), but this is definitely a more convenient opponent for the Union than Bayern, with which they will play after the game with Augsburg  Grin Bayer beat them 4-0, which means Bayern will do it with a score of 5-0 or 6-1.
1957  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 15, 2023, 08:18:45 AM
Aston Villa has better goal productivity than Tottenham. But I see Tottenham still have a good chance of beating Aston Villa. This is an interesting match because the two teams are only 1 point apart. Tottenham will win that match and Aston Villa will remain in 5th place in the standings. Even though Aston Villa has more wins but it cannot be said that Aston Villa has better chances.

It is quite remarkable that if Aston Villa wins, Tottenham will be out of the top 4, but just recently (2 rounds ago) Tottenham was in first place. 1958  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cash out or keep playing? on: November 15, 2023, 08:07:37 AM
If he plays responsibly, then increasing the amount at his disposal should not negatively affect him. But personally, I think that after winning the jackpot you should withdraw more than half, more like 90-95%. If this is money that can change your life or just a significant amount, then it is better to keep it for yourself, and have fun as before, playing for the same amounts as before.
Without a doubt this should be the right decision to take, but often what happens after a big win is that people begin to get greedy as they think of all the money they could make if they keep gambling and they increase the size of their bet, and then when they follow that plan they realize their luck has finally run out and they just wish to recover the money they have lost so far, only to keep losing and eventually wasting what it could have been an opportunity to improve their lives.

Yes, this is a common scenario, but it seems to me that it does not concern much money. Because if a person received really big money, in my opinion, a kind of greed should turn on that will keep him from spending it. It's one thing to be greedy in the sense of wanting to get more and more, and another thing to be greedy in the sense of trying to keep what you already have. If you already have a lot, then the desire to save should also become very strong.

What should have happened even earlier has happened. Napoli finally sacked Rudi Garcia.

https://www.news18.com/football/napoli-sack-coach-rudi-garcia-appoint-walter-mazzarri-yet-again-8662762.html
"Napoli Sack Coach Rudi Garcia, Appoint Walter Mazzarri Yet Again"

Of course, it is strange that they invited such a problematic and conflicted coach, known not only for his victories, but also for a series of scandals.
This time the rumors say that Garcia was dismissed not for his results, but because of his conflict with Osimhen. Although to be honest it's hard to believe it considering how Napoli have been playing lately. They are in 4th place in Serie A and last time they lost to Empoli.
In general, the resignation is logical and it is good that they did not wait until the end of the season and fired him immediately.

It’s funny that the coach was accused of a conflict with Osimhen, although Osimhen’s conflict with the club began because of the PR department and some manager from there had already been fired as a result of this conflict. Although I don’t know all the details and maybe there really was another parallel conflict where the reason was the head coach, I also think that the main reason for the dismissal was sports results.

Hah.... Is this valid news? Not so sure. Roll Eyes

Looking at the football sports news there are interesting, but I'm not so sure about this rumor, in other words that UEFA while considering inviting Al Nassr to play in the champions league next season and all the letters are being considered.

Why I say this is a bit skeptical because it is not the continent, the Champions League consciously especially the European zone is unlikely to invite only 1 club Al Nassr because of Ronaldo's popularity and now the club is said to be 3 popular in the world.
I'm not sure anyone is taking this seriously.

[1] https://twitter.com/DeadlineDayLive/status/1724469459891441904
[2] https://twitter.com/alharbi_44/status/1724469385392160876

I don’t think that this news is true at the moment, it is rather an attempt to test public opinion. If fans receive this news with enthusiasm, then perhaps another club will be entered into the European Champions League (not necessarily Al-Nasr, just adding a wild card system). And in fact, I don’t see anything wrong with this, I think everyone would dream of seeing how other best clubs in the world would show themselves in the Champions League. Taking into account the change in the format of the Champions League from next year, no one will even feel that a new club is playing in the tournament.
