1981  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Educating unemployed friends about Bitcoin on: October 29, 2023, 05:23:20 PM
I think it would be dangerous to fill an unemployed person’s mind with the idea they can throw their life savings into Bitcoin and they’ll get rich. If they’re unemployed they probably have bigger needs than investing. Rather, the employed friend with funds they can invest would be the better choice as they are in a position to act on the knowledge responsibly.
1982  Economy / Speculation / Re: Scheduled deadlines of Bitcoin Spot ETF applications & Price speculations on: October 29, 2023, 05:04:00 PM
NEW: CFTC Commissioner Summer Mersinger says  the market is ready for a spot #Bitcoin    ETF.

"There's a lot of interest.

Bitcoin will never be lost, but it will come back stronger. It is expected that there will be a lot of pumping. Let's see what happens next bitcoin really bright future.

It’s only a matter of time. I think the delay likely has nefarious reasons, like people behind the scenes filling their pockets before they let the big boys run in and buy everything. The people are getting restless though. With this much demand, they’re going to have difficulty keeping an ETF suppressed for much longer.
1983  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvidia to make Arm-based PC chips in major new challenge to Intel on: October 29, 2023, 05:01:19 PM
With all the money Nvidia just raised through the artificial intelligence hype, I imagine they’ll have to expand their business in every way possible in order to try and bring in enough revenue to satisfy investors. This will no doubt result in a lot of wasted money, which is why I think that AMD makes a better investment currently.
1984  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Now we can sue the Covid vaxx manufactures because of impurities in the vaxxes. on: October 29, 2023, 04:59:37 PM
There’s no way the government is going to allow citizens to start suing companies over the jab. They forced it on us with wild tales of death. This was a handout to the medical industry and they’ll never let that money disappear. At least not until all the CEOs get their golden parachutes. Just watch. They’ll deny how bad the jab was a lie to protect the medical industry at all costs.
1985  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Crypto does NOT fund terrorism on: October 29, 2023, 04:57:10 PM
Crypto might not fund terrorism as a whole and it for certain doesn’t come anywhere near the terrorist financing that fiat currencies including the dollar do, but making a blanket statement that crypto doesn’t fund terrorism is probably not true. If it can be used for evil, it probably will. This isn’t unique to cryptocurrencies though.
1986  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adoption in coming years, merchants will be left behind on: October 29, 2023, 04:55:32 PM
Ironically, the way Bitcoin has evolved is going to force merchants to adopt middlemen like Coinbase to handle their payments and consumers will have to leave funds on exchanges like Coinbase to be able to spend them without massive fees at merchants. This is ironic because it is the exact behavior that Bitcoin was supposed to fix.
1987  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if there was only one cryptocurrency, which is Bitcoin? on: October 29, 2023, 04:53:44 PM
There were always going to be multiple cryptocurrencies, but none of the others were ever taken seriously since they were mostly rip offs of Bitcoin. However, once the block limit was forced down our throats there were needs that Bitcoin could no longer fill, causing people to have to support other rip off currencies to keep their businesses running.
1988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 29, 2023, 04:51:01 PM
Big news lately has been Harden to Lakers. Not that it is happening right now, but the rumor is there, which means at least someone from the staff leaked it to someone. Not that Lakers have any proper picks or anything to give, but they could give some players that are outside of AD and Lebron, those two will stay, everyone else can be used to get Harden. A trio of Harden, Lebron and AD should be proper, depends on who they have around them of course, they already have a weak supporting cast and with sending the very few they have, they are going to definitely end up with a lot more trouble on depth. But that would definitely make them a title contender without a doubt.

I don’t believe that news for a second. Mainly because James Harden doesn’t play basketball the right way and LeBron James would have zero tolerance for his isolation style play. I think they’d be a worse pairing than LeBron and Russ. A good match with LeBron would be Buddy Hield or another knock down spot up shooter.
1989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 29, 2023, 04:48:19 PM
I think hilarious should change the poll and ask whether the match ended with a robbery.  Lol.   Hint:  It did.  IMHO.
I swear, we really need to create a new poll and ask whether the split decision was rigged or not. I don't know what to think or say, I am sure I wasn't hallucinating and I was watching ESPN+ despite the fact that I wanted to sleep so bad. Ngannou was dominating in this match and hugging was all that Tyson Fury was doing. Ngannou even almost knocked him out, Tyson felt down. To be honest, it was a hella of a fun to see Tyson's face in slow motion during that moment.

I think, Ngannou won the match but it would be a huge shame for Boxing community to admit that man from MMA trained for a while and beat the undefeated heavyweight boxing champion on first debut. It was a robbery!

Your comment sounds crazy at first, but given that Tommy Fury literally just robbed KSI in the same way it starts to seem like less of a conspiracy theory. I’m glad Tyson Fury won because I had money on him, but even I know that he had no business winning that fight. Francis surprised everyone with that left hook.
1990  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 29, 2023, 04:46:03 PM
We’re still in the early stages of this next run, but it is clear that the market changed directions and is back on the way up. Given the time period we’re in of the cycle, we should get a good long rally from here that will only intensify as people begin experiencing FOMO. Soon an ETF will be approved and Bitcoin will be all over the news again.
1991  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has anybody expected this? on: October 28, 2023, 08:11:41 AM
The scary part to me isn’t that nobody expected this, but that everybody expected this. People are actually expecting the price to go much higher in the near future. I think if we end 2024 without seeing a six figure Bitcoin price, a lot of people will be disappointed. Most are expecting prices quite a bit higher in the next few years.
1992  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: October 28, 2023, 08:09:55 AM
I got another multi bet today with the Nuggets and the Mavericks winning. Feels like I’m on a bit of a hot streak even though I’m not exactly breaking the bank on the odds. I have been trying a lot of my bets recently to Tyson Fury winning his boxing match this weekend in order to boost the odds a bit. Hopefully he comes through.
1993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: October 27, 2023, 03:18:42 PM
Hey sports enthusiasts,

We've got two games coming up tomorrow, and here are the betting spreads:

Sixers @ Bucks: -6.5
Suns @ Lakers: -5.5

As you've probably noticed, the Lakers are now heavy favorites at -5.5. This line was initially set at just -1.5 for the Lakers, but that changed due to the news about Booker, who's doubtful to play due to a foot injury. It doesn't seem to be a severe injury, but he's likely resting for this game. Do you think Durant can lead his team to a victory?

You can check  my previous post for the details.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1220979.msg63058095#msg63058095

I'm leaning towards picking the Lakers to win and cover the spread. They're coming off a tough loss on the road, and this game marks their home opener against an undermanned Phoenix team. There doesn't seem to be a compelling reason why they can't secure the victory.

While we all know Durant is a superstar but he is not anymore on his prime, while the Lakers with their full squad are in full strength. I believe the Suns' offense may struggle to keep up with the Lakers. My prediction is that the Lakers will win and cover the spread as they might win by double digit.

I went the other way and picked the Suns +7.5. They still have Durant and I’m expecting an epic LeBron/Durant matchup. Not to mention it isn’t set in stone that Booker and Beal aren’t playing yet, and if they do play I think the Suns are the favorites, so it seems like a decent bet. I also added in a Bucks win because I think they’re going to be better than expected this year.

Got another one! So far this season I’ve been profitable on my bets every day. Had the Raptors not beaten the Timberwolves the other day I’d be a perfect winner so far. Will this luck streak continue? Probably not, but we have another day ahead of us today with some good games to throw in another multi bet parlay.
1994  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buying at 35k? on: October 27, 2023, 02:26:56 PM
Buying now after the price has more than doubled from the bottom and we’ve just had a significant rally shows some real confidence. Long term I’m certain it’s a good buy point, but for traders I can understand why they would be hesitant and awaiting a pullback. At some point the dips stop happening and we launch though.
1995  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The common saying Health is wealth on: October 27, 2023, 07:04:20 AM
It’s a common saying for a good reason… It is a good saying that applies to many things. Most often people take it to be about their physical health and relate it to not only medical costs, but the ability to enjoy things later in life. All the money in the world sometimes doesn’t mean a thing when you are unable to hike to see the beautiful view.
1996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 27, 2023, 06:17:56 AM
In the Lakers first game against the Denver Nuggets, you can see the Lakers playing like they are in a rebuilding process can't see any chemistry. They really need Dennis Schroder. Reaves and Russell are not that consistent, and I can't see any chemistry when these two guys are on the floor. Look at how Dennis Schroder right now carrying the Raptors. But fuck, the Raptors ruined my parlay. Lmao 🤣

ill also pick Lakers since D book & Beal will not play tonight.

A complete turn around for LeBron and the Los Angeles Lakers to turn the game on its head, Kevin Durant had 39 points for the Phoenix Suns, but that wasn't enough to help them extend their winning streak to 2 of 2 to start the season.

The Suns couldn't find any bucket for almost all the entirety of the 4th Quarter they could only make 3 points for close to over 10 mins, and Kevin Durant had to take things personal but ended up making some really awful shot decision with the game still very much open, and all tied, he decided to go for an unnecessary 3 point attempt which didn't fall and made the Lakers take charge of the game.

Just when it seemed like Durant was going to get the better of this legendary meetup, LeBron came through down the stretch and helped will the Lakers to a victory. This is much less impressive when you know that the Suns had two of their best players out with an injury, but I think it was a great showing. Not to mention the Suns covered the spread.
1997  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2023 end game sentiment check on: October 26, 2023, 09:00:49 PM
I answered that we will go sideways because I don’t think we’ll be making a run for the all time high until after the halving. However, I do believe we will continue to drift upwards as big banks continue to stack coins in preparation for their exchange traded funds. So by sideways I mean we’ll likely drift upwards to end the year around the $40K level.
1998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 26, 2023, 08:42:26 PM
The press conference was entertaining thanks to Tyson’s crazy Dad and Mike Tyson being Mike Tyson. I actually think that will probably be the most entertaining part of this fight. After seeing footage of Francis boxing, I’m pretty confident he’s in way over his head. Unless he was releasing faked footage, this fight is going to be incredibly one sided.

A couple of great games on today. First you have the 76ers against the Bucks. I think Damian Lillard and Giannis will be too much for the Soxers to deal with… Then you have the Lakers and Suns. I’m expecting the Suns to go 2-0 while the Lakers fall to 0-2. This will be a good test for the Suns though, as their new big man gets to go toe to toe with Anthony Davis.
