Security - getting paid is by far most important. 2. Working with the forum. This is a player's thread and books are held responsible for their actions. Questions are asked of books concerning number of employees, time in business, experience, poster problems, etc. If a book is going to ignore a player's thread, they will be severely downgraded. Most books are very easy to work with. The following cannot be quantified as to importance since being highly detrimental in one category may supersede other criteria used. 3. Poster review - poster review is much more important at bitcointalk than other forums, but other forums are also read. A high review from a new book will weigh less than the review of a book that's been in existence 2+ years. 4. Anonymous - one of the reasons that bitcoin books are used is to stay anonymous. There may be times where it is necessary to question players but it should be a minimum. 5. Margins - If players are going to have a chance to beat a book the margins have to be tight enough to give us that chance. If the margins are larger than -110 (1.91) that's a big blow to a book's rating. 6. Payout speed - If the average is longer than one hour, a book will be downgraded. One hour is sufficient due to possible grading errors. A large book is dealing with a significant amount of money along with a huge player base. 7. Markets - The more betting options, the better. 8. Traffic - time in business along with amount of players that a book has gives us a large sample size. 9. Currencies used - It's easier on the player if we are allowed to deposit and withdraw from alts. Miscellaneous - Books accepting fiat currencies are omitted from the guide. Other forums are read to make sure the ratings here aren't significantly out of line with the average of other books. This is why I recommend only using regulated sites and not crypto backed gambling sites.
Some of the crypto sportsbooks have been around for over 10 years. The ones in the UK and US have the strongest regulations but there are many that are safe in Curacao. It's not the licensing, but their history. The odds are better with some of the crypto books. The books in the US have awful odds. |

Hats off to OP for maintaining this thread and enhancing it. I have been a silent follower of this thread for years already. And I am also using the ratings as the basis when I try other sportsbooks.
Maybe it is time to include BK8 in the list of sportsbooks. I haven't encountered any issues so far. The company is big and has a lot of partnerships. The most notable is being the main sponsor of Aston Villa a top 5 team in the English Premier League, and it also signed boxing legend Manny Pacquiao as a brand ambassador.

I'm coming very late to this topic by chance, hardly check reputation section but I saw Sportsbet.io mentioned.
And I kinda expected to see one username mentioned, because jeremypwr manages a lot of giveaways but I seriously doubt he's an actual employee, and it never crossed my mind to see such an accusation when clearly, in many other megathreads merits are just dumped all on daily basis, why is that a problem? I can give it to whoever I want, if I think it deserves my merit. I'm sure these users do the same.
Personally, I know LFC_Bitcoin and buwaytress also for years, if they are Sportsbet employees I will eat my BTC wallet seriously. These guys are the most helpful people, years ago I personally got help for nothing from them, education, yes even merits to help my account grow. I know for sure they still run competitions and community events for not getting paid, buwaytress also a very outspoken member of all services here. I've 100% seen him criticize Sportsbet.io and in fact for years you can even see he runs pools for RIVALS of Sportsbet.io
Why would an employee do that??
To my best knowledge they're not even getting a cent paid for their work on this forum. People should be grateful there are people like these spending their time for free to make the forum a better place. Instead, they get accused on threads like this.
We need to recognize contributions but people seem to spend more time looking to take people down. Crazy.
I'm with you on the merit dumping not being a big deal. Also, giving each other trust isn't that big of a deal either. One thing that I'm against is giving people negative trust for the sole reason of not agreeing with an opinion. It's "trust", not opinion. That was the second claim of the OP. I've posted this a few times but my question with a case like this is can Rollbit take deposits even if the ToS says they can confiscate deposits. If this was in a court of law, that clause wouldn't be considered legal and the deposit would be returned. The winnings can be confiscated but not deposits. Pure curiosity, why is it not legal from the perspective of law? Both parties entered a binding agreement, the user violated one or two or even more clauses on the agreement, of which they're agreed with the consequences and outcome for said breach of agreement. Another thing I've mentioned a few times, let's ignore this case here, in the future do we just accept what a book states or is proof needed that a player has multiple accounts?
This is the importance of taking every case on this board with case-by-case approach, because on several cases, the casino seems vague and weaponize their ToS, on half other, the accusers are the ones questionable because their story are full of hole. I'll use an absurd example. If the ToS says that you can shoot a player for multi-accounting, the judge is going to throw that out since killing is illegal. Now does the judge consider confiscating deposits illegal since it's the same as stealing? Tricky call. You have the right idea in both your statements taking it case by case. If a player opens up 3 or 4 accounts there has to be some type of deterrent so I can see confiscating deposits being fine. Fortunately, its not the case of "stealing" in the sense the casinos rob player's fund. In many [big] casinos, they are more than happy to refund the initial deposits if the abuser is not on net profit. When the abuser is in profit [from their cheating activities], the fund will be confiscated, consider it as a way to "reimburse" the loss suffered by the casino from the abuses. So, I don't think it's "stealing", no? I didn't consider that but you've made a good point. The winnings occurred because of money used from cheating activities. Then there's man power or a third party cost that must be used to confirm this activity. I've had somewhat of a change of heart on the subject. |
