Is it in yet?

I think I can see my impact on the pool website (http://cryptonotepool.org.uk/)...

I have 2 x g2.2xlarge and 2 x c3.8xlarge running, and it looks to me that the pool hashrate went up about 4 to 5 KH/s after I started those instances.

Does that approximately check out?

I think you meant 40 to 50 KH/s.  Even with no change in miners the HR can go up and down.  They are now at 76 KH/s so it seems that you and/or others are there now.

Thank you

BCX, was that you in the polo chat under a different name?

For the record I did not DDOS Poloniex.

If I did I promise you I would have told you.

I have nothing against Poloniex.

As was pointed out by a few other posters, this is not my style.

More than likely some poser that was going to try and get some coins out of you.

Believe what you want to believe but anybody that has been here for any time knows, that wasn't me.

~BCX~

It seems it was the same account as the one that you proved you used yesterday

So who would like to defend BCX now?
2005  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: September 23, 2014, 02:10:57 AM
The biggest issue with this whole thing is I want to warm up my wallet and sell the 100 coins I mined fucking forever ago, and its going to be sometime tomorrow before the friggin thing syncs. How do you people deal with this its quicker to sync the entire years of bitcoin chain.

On the first page of the Monero thread there is a link to download the blockchain.  It will still take some time to sync but will be alot quicker than syncing from forever ago.

Hi,

For those people who like to kill two birds with one stone (looking at you David  Wink ) I have created an AMI that launches GPU and CPU miner automatically, on cryptonotepool.or.uk for the Dev Fund Address.

You missed the "g', it's cryptonotepool.org.uk

Damn, coming late to the party.  Tongue
Missed the beginning - where did BCX actually make this mythic thread?

BTW, the "confirmation" of TFM seems rather questionable.
you must have missed: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789978.msg8924866#msg8924866

Conformation of what?  BCX says he can steal wallets.  The post you linked says TFM has found something which and I quote "In effect this is a potential compromise to "untracability" in cryptonote".

How does this confirm that wallets can be stolen?

Also this comes way after the tread was started with it's misleading title.

how many hours until we know for sure? would now be a good time to buy shitloads of xmr, are we going to see big rise after "nothing happened"?

I think 29 hrs from now.

i have 1 GPU, how do i solo mine with it? usually i connect to moneropool.org.

i know it does not mean much but its a solid 315 h/s Smiley

Good question. I have never seen an answer to this. GPU mining is only set up for pools? Perhaps we'll get a better answer.

Meanwhile, put it on a smaller pool, with a backup pool configured.

Also, don't forget to solo mine on your CPUs as well.

Thanks for the support!

Moneropool.org is a small pool.  Moneropool.com is the big one

ETA:  Looks like I'm mistaken, there is no moneropool.org, I thought there was.
2013  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Mining on: September 22, 2014, 02:16:41 AM
How do I get everything set up for solo mining? I have the daemon running already, block chain up to date, etc.

If you are solo mining with just your cpu and are using the command line wallet then you can mine with the wallet.  The command is start_mining

You can choose the # of threads, for example 3, using: start_mining 3

To see what your hashrate is, in the daemon use the command: show_hr
To stop the display of the hashrate use: hide_hr

maybe the trolls are testing if xmr is bcx proof, testing if the devs are very good, testing the community, and getting the price low before investing a lot of money aka MEGA PUMP  Grin

Troll agenda is obvious. Unfortunately for them this community is above the curve. Wink

I need some good predictions for the floor to get back in. What do you guys think?

At the top of the first post IIT is the link to the speculation thread.  Price has been steady today with people speculating that it might go down as we get closer to the deadline.  Others have speculated that the panic sellers have already sold.  Good luck.

talking about how the devs are losing their motivation, that they dont feel like putting in the extra effort like they used to

PLEASE just give a detailed breakdown of [what] they need, LIKE A REGULAR COMPANY

Before we all started chasing BCX and TFM's shiny new objects, discussion was underway about reaching funding goals.

Since we have some time to kill before the moment of truth, let's get back to that.

A 1% devtax on mined blocks (excluding tx fees) would provide devs with motivation for putting in continuing/extra effort.

In addition to previously listed items, we should consider keeping funds in reserve to pay for bug bounties and network defense (IE VPS rentals to host known good nodes while under attack).

I proposed a "retroactive pre-mine" in the form of a Bootstrap Block containing 1% of all XMR, which is 184,000 coins.

The 184k XMR/$300k it provides seems sufficient to fund the following to at least alpha testing:

$100k - refactor codebase
$50k - security audits
$50k - integrate DB
$25k - complete I2P
$25k - Official Wallet
$15k - bug bounties
$15k - p2pool
$15k - trustless web wallet
$5k - network defense fund

Are these numbers too high, low, or just about right?

I'm not opposed to a plan like that, but I believe the emission rate should be slowed if we do that, both to combat inflation and keep the mining end date roughly the same, if not extended out even further.

I expect a fork to result.

Is your response was directed to infofront only?

I never said I was leaving, just that in 2 days I would be back.

Like a lingering bad smell. The putrid stench of rotten advice coming from the fetid mind of a spiteful man.

LOL, people should be taking your advice???

Maybe they should take yours..............

OK real question.

smooth had mentioned that not only mining but running a full node is important in securing the network,

If I run my regular miner and the daemon simultaneously without mining from my wallet, will this work or do I need to mine from my wallet?
2018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: September 20, 2014, 08:31:52 AM
I don't know how much this factors in but this question and answer are from just after this weeks Missive.

Very nice! Smiley

Two things:
1) You have probably already asked Zazzle about accepting monero but i would urge you to try a bit more or at least find someone who is willing to accept xmr and pay them in fiat. I would really like to see my XMR being used for buying these things!
2) Any (risky) timetable about blockchain and that awesome GUI? Or maybe we can wait until Friday's chat? Cheesy

There are a couple of companies waiting the do 1), we told them to wait for proper GUI and blockchain.

I heard that decentralized cyrptocurrencies are the answer to all of mankind's problems Smiley

Back on topic.  It's not how much can you bench, it's how much can you squat.

Can you really put FUD aside?

I did buy a little today, Thurs. and have one small order in that probably won't get filled.
