2381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Hello. I am new and confused, could use some help on: November 10, 2017, 06:09:59 PM
on our original paper work screen shot from the btc we have a "button" under  the identifier/ password field that says open wallet. id is filed in pass is blank.

is it true we need to keep the btc off coinbase to get any forked coins?
where do they go ( like bth, where is its address, we never got one)?
then how do we move it back to coinbase to put cash in bank acct?

thanks

They go into your coinbase wallet. Taking the bitcoin off coinbase won't give you the BTG, you will need the private key for that, and i don't think you have the one for your coinbase wallet.

( Which means you are not going to be able to access your BTG, since coinbase is not going to support the fork ).

2382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Hello. I am new and confused, could use some help on: November 10, 2017, 05:32:25 PM
Bought a coin 4 years ago.

have address and identifier recorded.
we can move it from coinbase to the wallet, but we DONT KNOW where the wallet is housed or located.

-are we online / offline?
-do we need to be off coinbase when btg drops on the 12th?
- how do we transfer from wallet to coinbase?
-should we just get a wallet on blockchain and put it there.
-how do i access the bth everyone got in september and move it around? if we were on coinbase, did we get that free bth?

sorry for the noobish questions, but i am a n00b

Quote
-are we online / offline?
If your wallet is coinbase, as you stated on your next question, then you are "Online" as it is a webwallet.

Quote
-do we need to be off coinbase when btg drops on the 12th?

No, it is already too late for that. BTG split has been recorded a month ago, so wherever your bitcoin was at that moment, ( i presume coinbase ) will be where your BTG will be.

Quote
BTG snapshot block 491,407 occurring approximately on October 23, 11pm PT (6am UTC)

Quote
-should we just get a wallet on blockchain and put it there.

If you mean blockchain.info, then no, i would advise getting a hardware wallet from here, https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet I personally use https://electrum.org/#home

Quote
-how do i access the bth everyone got in september and move it around? if we were on coinbase, did we get that free bth?

That fully depends on coinbase, and if they support the fork. https://support.coinbase.com/customer/portal/articles/2892196-bitcoin-gold-faq

Which they DONT right now.

2383  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 200$ bounty to whomever can get my BTC transaction processed today on: November 10, 2017, 04:59:04 PM
If you sent your transaction from an account that you have with a service, then you will need to contact the service provider and inform them that their service is broken.  You will then need to wait for the service to fix their problem so they can create valid transactions.

Thank you Danny. I was worried that might be the case. The people that run that site are very unresponsive and I may have lost my money on this....uggghhhhh

I really appreciate you looking into this for me.

So, let me get this right.

You deposited money into a crowdfunding ICO - ( link us please ), they store it for you in their webwallet until the ICO ends, -> you decide that you no longer want to invest. -> Said ICO no longer wants to give / is failing to give you your money back?

If you mind giving me the link of the ICO you were investing in, if they're doing a real ICO, you're probably going to get it back, but right now it does sound like this isn't the case.
2384  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do bitcoin developers get pay with bitcoins? on: November 10, 2017, 04:00:27 PM
I am very curious about if bitcoin developers get pay with bitcoin or bank currency?

That depends on who/for who you are working. IBM blockchain engineers for example get paid out in fiat i believe,

but startups like http://coinbase.com paid all of it's employees in bitcoin, see https://www.coindesk.com/getting-paid-in-bitcoins/

Reservation for migueltiu (Already paid and rented) for 2 days
You said you had ~ 70k likes per video, which is just not true. I don't understand where you are getting these numbers from.

The channel you sent me indeed had around 15k subs, and the most viewed video had around 80k views, with like 800 likes. The numbers simply don't add up. Please explain...

Also, from where did migueltiu rented your channel? Did he contacted you in PM? Jusr curious.

Seems to me that there is currently something wrong with the bootstrap you're using on the site, See

2388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to find out a wallet ID of a Private key? on: November 09, 2017, 09:18:32 PM
Hi,

I want to know how can I find out the wallet ID of a private key without importing the priv key into my wallet?

You can't as far as i know. There is no ""Direct"" correlation between the wallet identifier and the private key, at least not in the way that it is reversible.

Adresses are derived from the public key, and the public key is derived from the private key.

You can go from Private Key  -> Wallet adress, but not the other way around. >1 in adress is from 1= private key

Also a wallet adress is something different then a wallet identifier, so i'm not sure if you meant to refer to wallet ID instead of adress ID.

A wallet ID is something like this, https://www.walletexplorer.com/wallet/0004e0d47a2c36bd

So, correct me if i'm wrong, if you'd want to know the wallet ID(s) of a certain set of adresses, without importing the private key, ( essentially loading / scanning the private key), shouldn't be possible. ( as the process would / should be able to be done reversed aswell ).
2389  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can I promote my Youtube channel? on: November 09, 2017, 08:19:18 PM
Hi. How can I promote my Youtube channel? Can you tell me about legal methods? What should I do for getting more subscribers?

First of all you need quality content, if something you make is really good, in the sense that it is extremely funny or informational, a good way to promote it would be to post it on social media like reddit, and especially the bitcoin subreddit to get to your core audience.

See http://reddit.com/r/Bitcoin  / http://reddit.com/r/BTC
2390  Other / Meta / Re: Moderators Right? on: November 09, 2017, 06:58:55 PM
I warned a member whose post included insult and defamation about  a person. Additionally I reported it to moderator but  the moderator deleted my message because of excuse  float. And then I send a message to moderator "why" my post is deleted. He said that your post is irrelevant. I think that this is realy joke!!!  And then I wrote again him and I said "insult and defamation" is relevant but the warning is irrelevant. So how I complain about the moderator? Or whom?

You want to complain about the moderator so that he would get removed from his positions, is what i'm understanding from you -- right ?

Now i don't know how you would exactly do that, i also don't know what happend in your case, but your best bet would be to give full context, and see what the community thinks of said moderator, in this board ->

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=129.0

If there's alot of consensus, a higher power ( admin ) might take action, if there isn't,  i doubt anything will happen.

-- All the moderators i know are extremely dedicated to moderating this forum, and replacing them is/would be extremely difficult, so there has to be some major issues for an admin like Cyrus to suddenly replace them.

2391  Other / Meta / Re: Moderators Right? on: November 09, 2017, 04:43:03 PM
What is a "sharing" ?

He is probably refering to / as something he "shares" with use, aka a post of him, the answer on that is, YES. you can get banned for posting gore content i believe, but also for copy pasting, posting ref links etcetera.

For some guidelines, see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0 on what is and isn't allowed.

If you think what a moderator is deleted is unfair, i think your best bet would be to open up a thread here, in this section, and ask why / for what reasoning it got deleted.
2392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Urgent - unconfirmed transaction in chain.so, and doesn't exist in blockchain on: November 09, 2017, 03:32:27 PM

Wait, how did you calculated that his TX was 95KB? He never stated that anywhere? 0.07BTC fee for a transaction of 3.5BTC?

That's roughly 2%..

If he would have alot if inputs, then it would've made sense, but i don't see any reason for him to pay 500$ in fees.. ?

https://blockchain.info/tx/184299ddaa5f96a4c245e68ff9331e6e20be04f7d907b3dd2a6467ac9c9fc43b

This 4BTC tx only has a fee of     0.000904BTC, ~6$ and confirmed just fine.

Yes, it actually has 324 inputs... maybe that's why.

Yes. You should be able to import the private keys of block.io into electrum, and it should work just fine.

Ok, I will try to do that. But I prefer to get clear instructions if possible.

I think that's easier to ask around to get your transaction accelerated. Just do a bit of search on this forum, some people do this, some even for free / tip.
Or you can try yourself with ViaBTC https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ but you have to be in the first seconds after hour, else you won't get in. There are (too) many trying this every hour.

Impossible. It will give an error that the transaction doesn't exist. It is possible to see it only in chain.so.

Not sure how it works with block.io, but you already mentioned you could export your private keys, well, do that.

Simply download electrum from here, https://electrum.org/#download

And here's if you want to simply make a new wallet, which is what you want to do in your case, http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/faq.html#can-i-sweep-private-keys-from-other-bitcoin-clients

Or possible add it to an existing wallet, assuming you already have an electrum wallet. http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/faq.html#can-i-import-private-keys-from-other-bitcoin-clients

Also, this won't lower the amount of fees you'd need to sent, but it does probably make it easier to broadcast a transaction.

Aha, didn't see that, only checked the blockchain.info links, and they were all dead. Over 300+ inputs probably isn't that good for your average fee^ Shocked
2393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Urgent - unconfirmed transaction in chain.so, and doesn't exist in blockchain on: November 09, 2017, 03:07:49 PM
Well that's strange, as I used medium priority for sending that transaction, not low. And the fee is 0.00519072 BTC, which is not small.
Well, your transaction is over 95KB and for that size, you would be looking at the very least, a fee of 0.07BTC. Block.io probably don't have that great of an estimation.

So now I will have to wait another 3 days for it to drop again and I will have to be fast enough to send it again with high priority before it gets rebroadcasted again?
Yeah, the time may vary, if someone else rebroadcasts it continually. I'm not sure how Block.io works. If you'd like, you can search up on how to extract the private key(if possible) from Block.io. Using that, you can sign another transaction with a higher fee. Since the propagation isn't good, you're likely to get a confirmation really fast.
How many times more it can get rebroadcasted by itself? Hope this is not an infinite loop. Sad
It is an infinite loop, till it gets confirmed or the inputs gets spent in another confirmed transaction.

Thank you very much for your explanation.

By the way, is it possible for Block.io to drop the transaction from their mempool manually? I mean, can I ask them to do it? Then I will be able to send another transaction from my Block.io wallet with a high priority so it will get confirmed fast.

And Block.io not long time ago added the Private Keys feature for wallet holders. So it will be possible for me to extract the Private Key from my Block.io wallet into my Electrum wallet and then send another transaction with a high fee, even though the funds are not in my Block.io wallet now because of the rebroadcasted transaction? If it is possible, how to do it?

Yes. You should be able to import the private keys of block.io into electrum, and it should work just fine.

Wow, 15k subs -> 70k likes? Are these organic, and do you get this on every  / most videos?

What is the average amount of views you get on a video?
I might be interested to post a video on your channel, but i need to make sure that your views are organic and real.

Could you maybe share / add pictures in the OP of your traffic statistics, where most of your traffic is coming from, both country and refferer, and also the retention rates would be nice.

I currently have 16 videos regarding trading cryptocurrencies, investing in Poloniex, thoughts about the increase and decrease of bitcoin as well as doing live streams. Kindly message me and I could link you to my videos.

PM sent, I'm pretty curious what you're views are like when you only have 15k subs, but 70k likes on average. Also, are you currently partnered with anything such as BBTV/ Fullscreen?

2396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I made a refund on Blockchain.info - money is gone ? help!!!!! on: November 09, 2017, 11:54:29 AM
so if its not blockchain.info the money is gone or ? who should i contact ?
it has 6 confirmations..

Well, you should ask the guy who sent you the bitcoin from that adress where he sent them from. Which exchange / wallet.

The only possible exchange i currently see where something like this could happen is coinbase, as that is one of the only wallets not listed on https://www.walletexplorer.com/

It could be that the guy is trying to scam you, and that he has already received the money.

There's no way to turn back the transaction, the money is already gone. You might be able to get it back from the exchange/ wallet support, but chances are slim.

2397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I made a refund on Blockchain.info - money is gone ? help!!!!! on: November 09, 2017, 11:46:25 AM
i received payment on bitcoin ($63)   and guy who sent  asked for a refund
I saw his adress on ''From'' and just send back his btc to this adress:

picture:

He said

Shit dude. That's a blockchain address. You can't use that to receive payments. I asked you to send to my wallet. Check the previous PM.

Is that true? and money is gone ?

Transaction:
https://blockchain.info/tx/5c2d01cf1c779c4f1b929109bc3d9e94e811265fbce8a3d367b9678a58274005

If he didn't use a hardware wallet such as electrum, where he had control over all his private keys, but instead used an exchange to make the transaction, such as coinbase, poloniex, or bittrex, then yes.

He probably has no access to the adress he sent the bitcoin from as the exchange does that, he only has one receiving adress.

But, when i trace the adress,

https://www.walletexplorer.com/wallet/b257888856706ef8?from_address=149Vu5bbQKgxs4C6xRXiZaJMSVmabQ2pve

It is part of a wallet with only 1 adress, which is 149Vu5bbQKgxs4C6xRXiZaJMSVmabQ2pve, and it is not part from any big exchange, except coinbase?

Ask him from which wallet / exchange he sent it from.
2398  Economy / Digital goods / Re: BITCOIN MIXER FOR SALE on: November 09, 2017, 11:27:10 AM
no fake or trap. buyer can verify everything in live mode. during negotiations. right now in maintenance mode. buyer will obtain all passwords, domain, server in friendly jurisdiction. we prefer to talk about details in PM.

Except of putting more info about your mixer, which i'm more than sure that it's a fake/trap one,you should stop spam others threads.
Like this one.

Are you also selling just the source code? I'm really not that interested in your site and the brand you build, but rather in the basecode that your site uses.

If so, please give me a PM with your pricerange for the full source code, ( As i assume you coded the mixer yourself? )
2399  Other / Meta / Re: What functions are you missing on the current forum? on: November 08, 2017, 09:13:25 PM
Might be the wrong section to post this in, if so, please move it to the appropriate one.

I was wondering what some key features are that you guys are missing ( if all ) on this forum.

Think about things such as liking, tagging, embedding, stuff like that.

-Notifications when people quote you.
-Notifications when people tag you.

This is all I can think of at the moment. I like BitcoinTalk for the rest :-)

Regards,
Trump

The one I miss the most is the lack of notifications. You can never know if someone quoted you or replied to your thread, which results in a lot of unanswered questions - like newbies who haven't understood what you explained to them. That's why I tend to check my last few posts after some days to see if there is anybody trying to talk with me.

I'm personally missing this myself aswell.

I really think that the emailing system really doesn't fullfill my needs. I'd love to know when someone quoted one of my posts / tagged me.

If there's enough demand for it, i might look into something like a firefox / google chrome extensions that does exactly this. Not sure if it would even be possible, but since i have no clue when then new forum is going to be released, i guess this would be a good temporary solution.

I've tried to put it in the Forum Profile Information instead of my signature pacatosul: , but the result was an error called suspicious link removed! Please help me! Thank you!

You shouldn't put it in your posts, but as you stated, in your signature.

Go to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1098566;sa=forumProfile

And indeed, put this into signature.

If it says " Suspicious link removed ", you should contact the bounty manager, as this is a mistake at their end, not yours.

Also i doubt that that happens in signatures though.
