41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advice for beginner HODLers on: January 11, 2021, 04:35:13 PM
I put all my btc in coinbase, is it safe?
With custodial wallets being vulnerable to hacks, you can never guarantee the safety of your funds. Therefore, you should search for a better alternative wallet in which you have full access to your funds and comprises a good security feature. Read and follow the initial phase indicated in the post to convey the main idea. Nevertheless, I will suggest reading these threads to gain a better insight into the types and differences between cryptocurrency wallets.

I will suggest taking things slow, by making slow progress you can clarify things. Begin with defining your purpose in joining the forum, make a plan, and set a specific time frame for learning. With insufficient funds to invest, you can try offering a service with your skills in the forum to earn an extra income. You can participate in a bounty campaign if you have finally earned enough merits and activities to rank up. You don’t need to avail any premium or pay any fee to join. Therefore, give your best and be patient. In addition, to learn and understand cryptocurrency, you can browse the forum during your vacant time. With perseverance, you can find a way to overcome those hindrances.
43  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Treat newbies right - Teach them and sell to them at the ATH on: January 11, 2021, 12:07:08 PM
On my side of things I want to teach my friends everything that I know in the crypto industry especially on Bitcoin but when it comes to the question with regards to buying or selling I ultimately avoid answering it and explain to them that this kind of decisions are supposed to be made by you.
Honestly, it is a good approach to prevent any disappointments regarding the investment decision-making process. As some of our personal recommendations could be wrong and the outcome may contradict their expectation. Thus, it is better to suggest the evaluation of the market themselves to help them realize what actions they should do. In that manner, they will learn to weigh the possible risk associated with their investment. Personally, when my friends ask me about bitcoins' price and functional capabilities, I informed them of the basics and propose to do the rest of the exploration.

45  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price of BTC might go down on: January 10, 2021, 04:58:45 PM
Well, all I can say is that any of their or our predictions may come true as there's always a possibility and we can only tell that once we reach that point. There's a chance that it might go down to 50% but even the so-called expert at analyzing the market can still fail with their prediction so we should not be afraid since it will be a good opportunity for us to buy more bitcoin. Nevertheless, one thing for sure is that the price of bitcoin will go down, we just don't know when and how big it is in the future.
46  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling advertising monitored closely on: January 10, 2021, 04:10:22 PM
This is a typical example of an over reaction from some "Karin" (moaner) out there, because even some Adult people like stuffed animals. Just look at movies like "The Happytime murders" for instance, where puppets are used.  Roll Eyes
-snip
I think so too. just like what I said on my first comment. I've seen porn advertisements that use stuffed animals. I've asked the OP for a link that could lead to the supposed advertisement that uses stuffed animals so I can decide for my self if the advertisement really does try to attract kids to gamble. I am all for trying to prevent underage gambling but there are times they are just going out of hand making an issue out of something that isn't supposed to be an issue.
I made a little research and their paid advertisement are being shown on Facebook which we are aware that a lot of minors nowadays are into social media like Facebook. Compared to porn ads that use stuffed animals, I don't think they advertise it on Facebook (I haven't seen any before) or they probably have age restrictions.

You can see a screenshot of the video advertisement with stuffed animals here

47  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The gambler who manages to beat the casino through cheating on: January 10, 2021, 03:21:11 PM
The gambler who manages to beat the casino through cheating

What at least most of these people do is not cheating. Yes it is against casino rules, since it brings them loss, but is definitely not cheating. They just try to beat the game. And they do it smart.
Yes, they are working smart to think of a way to beat the house. They have the mind to find ways to be able to beat the house and they were successful but their method is just unethical and that's purely cheating. We may have different opinions as you believe it's not cheating but for me, it's considered cheating as they violated rules and used tools and techniques that should not be done in the first place.
48  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Be Aware]: Fake Liberty Jaxx wallet website and fake apps on Google Store on: January 10, 2021, 01:33:09 PM
This is getting out of hand honestly, I'm sure that many newbies would have fall for the new fake jaxx wallet, google playstore team are responsible for all this, I don't know why they refused to take any actions against fake app listing, that's strange
With the vast range of malicious applications in that platform, users should realize the importance of cognizant. Assessing the reviews and description is incapable to manifest the credibility of an application as it can be easily manipulated and copied from the official source. Thus, instead of downloading from the Google play store, we should follow this guide to prevent the victimization of fake applications.
[1] Officially visit websites & download apps, not fake ones.

Honestly, it is a major concern because people are handling their data into these applications and it could lead to threats of data theft. Regardless, we should report it and see how they will resolve the issue.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you were me , Do you buy this coin ?? on: January 09, 2021, 04:24:04 PM
If you look at the performance of the team on Telegram in answering everyone's questions and updates are always good. And if I become you then I will invest in this project
It is necessary for the team to actively update the investors with the process of development of the project, further plans, and its implementation to achieve their primary objective. By engaging with the discussion, they can clarify some issues and questions. Besides that, they can attract and gain trust from the current and potential investors. However, it does not define the successful performance of their project. Personally, I will not invest in it, as I am not interested.
50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When to take profit from your current bitcoin holding. on: January 09, 2021, 03:13:11 PM
Cashing out depends on our perspective. Personally, since I have trust in bitcoin, I am not afraid to hold it for a longer time even if the price started to go down, and I only try cash out some when I need it. Investing now is indeed risky because we are not sure until when it will continue to rise but I guess you become warier about getting losses since it went down a little bit that leads you to a loss increase of profit. I can only say that if you are afraid that you might lose your investment, it's better to invest during a bear market.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do you know A platform for protect us from scammers ???? on: January 08, 2021, 04:36:41 PM
Honestly, it is quite intriguing, but I find it unnecessary as investors could delve to validate the credibility of an investment. Besides that, they are liable to protect the privacy of their financial assets and personal data by applying their insights with several fraudulent methods. Personally, what is strictly necessary for the Defi ecosystem is aware of the risk of fraud and hacks. Nonetheless, you seem to find it interesting, have you assessed it yet? If yes, then it will be good if you share your general overview with it.
52  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Attention: Biden has officially won, make sure your sportsbook pay you. on: January 08, 2021, 03:48:20 PM
Just got curious does sports book website is not yet paying the bettors for placing bet on Joe Biden? Looks like the US was having a riot and everything seems not good I hope the bookies would be able to pay now their bettors.
Others who bet on the presidential election mentioned here that some sportsbook is holding their winnings because there is still no official declaration of the election. Although it was really pretty obvious that Biden already won but since Trump just can't accept his defeat. He keeps saying that there's something about the election, it probably causes more time before they can declare the next president. This is one of the negative sides of betting on this kind of event because it takes a longer time compared to sports.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: do I still have a chance to get profit? on: January 08, 2021, 02:48:21 PM
You probably know the project more than us here since you have invested in it back in 2018, and it's been years already. I personally think that it's up to your perspective towards the project since you know it better if you will still have hopes of getting a profit or not. But based on my judgment, there is a higher possibility that you won't get any profit on that project. If the team is still active, then you can probably ask and contact them about their plans for this project.
54  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Increase Your Alertness Everytime on: January 08, 2021, 01:16:36 PM
7. Don't be too excited to tell the people around you about the current value of your investment as it will increase the risks such as robbery and so on.
It is illogical to flaunt your investment value, criminals will certainly run after your private keys to steal your assets. Be wary that things could be complicated when it involves money, people can easily turn their backs on you. Instead, keep it private because it could lead to a perilous threat where your life and assets are at risk. Regardless, we should identify our priorities as an investor to secure the privacy of our financial assets. With the new ATH, there could be a rapid development of fraudulent activities in the crypto space, so we should stay vigilant.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty on: January 08, 2021, 08:52:33 AM
As this has been discussed before, you can find different guides in the forum that may help you be conscious of the differences between the bounties and the possible signs of a fraudulent bounty.
For instance:
[1] Enough of bounty scam, you can help to stop it too.

Besides that, you can also look into this thread, which has opinions of our fellow-member in the matter of assessing bounties.
[1] How to know if Bounty is scam?

Are you following or interested in any bounty campaign? If yes, then you can apply the guides given to you to avoid fraudulent projects. Nonetheless, I will suggest focusing first on the improvements in your knowledge instead of directly joining bounties.
56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An investigative report: YouTube channels doing bitcoin scams on: January 07, 2021, 03:25:33 PM
We have already seen a lot of similar giveaway modus like this on social media platforms especially on YouTube. Although I don't really care nor fall for this kind of giveaway on YouTube since I am already aware of their tactics, however, there are still newbies who don't have any idea and might get fooled. All we can do is to report and alert thousands of people watching giveaway lives by scammers about it. And it's YouTube's job to take down those videos.
57  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: More Trezor.io phishing sites on: January 07, 2021, 02:14:28 PM
And since Ledger has been hugging the limelight lately, these criminals think that people might switch to Trezor that's why they've created a lot of phishing sites like what the OP has found.
Trezor has made a statement to warn their user of the scams associated with their wallet and website.
[1] Phishing attacks are targeting Trezor users

It's very dangerous as this malicious sites really clone the original. Do not enter your seeds.
it has been a common tactic of cyber-criminals to attack and steal credentials. Thus, it is extremely alarming as it is difficult to see the difference with its similar logo and content provided. Therefore, any user can be at risk, so we should verify the website address before signing in to our account.

We can check it using the website mentioned in this thread, which is the Punycode converter. By using it, we can see its real web address.
[1] UPDATED!!! Punycode and how to protect yourself from Homograph Phishing attacks?
58  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC crossed $34K. $40K this week? on: January 07, 2021, 12:42:35 PM
Bitcoin already reached the $37k mark and there's probably a chance of it reaching $40k this week, or if not within the week, I still believe it will soon reach $40k since there's already a small difference to reach it.

We just keep reaching new goals and it just shows how Bitcoin can prove itself. We will also probably get to see it reaching more than $40k. Not to be optimistic, but bitcoin could reach $45-50k sooner as others believe.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The Alt Season Has Started on: January 06, 2021, 04:58:46 PM
Before altcoins started to increase even more, it's better to invest already. But of course, we need to be wise at selecting altcoins and it's safer to go with top altcoins. And since we are talking about top altcoins, eth would be one of our best options when choosing where to invest in. But aside from eth, I also go with bnb.
60  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Fast ways to lose money trading on: January 06, 2021, 04:03:35 PM
Another fast way to lose money quickly is to follow these "instagram traders" hehehe.
Who are these people anyway?
In specific, be prepared for an instant scam as you follow and trust your funds with those self-proclaimed traders. Instead of following their trading guides, you should pour your time to gain knowledge to understand how to read and analyze the stock market chart.

Are they selling any trading guides
It seems so, as you are required to pay for them to help you assess your trades.

or do they lure in newbies with "how I made easy money on trading crypto" blogs or videos with pictures of luxury cars or house? A trader worth his salt doesn't need to go public AND sell aggressively. Let's remember that.
Flexing their travel pictures and luxury items are part of the scheme, and that’s how they attract people’s interest.
