521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you deal with high transaction fee on BTC on gambling? on: December 06, 2023, 10:59:22 PM
I think everyone notice how high the current fee right now on Bitcoin network. I’m sure player like me that relying only on signature campaign payment in Bitcoin is having a hard time to play right now since the fee is insanely high.

How do you deal with this problem? Is there any casino that allows no confirmation to deposit? Let’s say I will send my Bitcoin using fee below average and then play while it’s still unconfirmed. I knew that some casino do have instant deposit but I never try depositing much lower fee to the average fee if they will still credit instantly.

The best way to deal with high confirmations is to use altcoins in the process. With congested and high fees, it will surely eat up your balance as miner fees are like $10 from the last time I checked.

Swap your BTCs to any altcoins that are available in the respective gambling website and you are good to go. If you really want to gamble with BTC, then the only solution is to wait until the transaction fees lower but this will take some time given that Christmas is around the corner and the fork is coming very soon.
522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Include Or Always Include Gambling In Your New Year's Resolution on: December 05, 2023, 11:48:53 PM
Only 4 weeks before we welcome a new year and new year for many is the best time to promise changes in their behavior, career, and habits, and many gamblers take the New Year as an opportunity to try to change something in their behavior or lifestyle and they do it through New Year resolution.

My question do you include gambling in your new resolution, and what's your New Year's resolution about gambling?

Let's talk about it.

I include it but I say it in a all encompassing manner so that it can be generalize.

For example, I phrase my new year's resolution that I will manage my expenses responsibly and discipline myself regarding my life choices. These statements can be applied to gambling habits as they involve discipline and responsibility of expenses.

For everyone's new year's resolution, I do recommend that people should not wait until new year to start. They can definitely start their resolution as early as today. It should not be perfect but it should start as soon as possible!
523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos after the shutdowns of mixers on: December 05, 2023, 05:00:25 PM
The worse news, is mixers will no longer be allowed in Bitcointalk for any kind of promotions or even discussions. Along with the risk of getting banned because of that means ; Mixers are dead here in BTT.

The important question here: how will casinos respond to this new landscape, and what measures will they take and implement to face the challenges posed by recent developments? Probably many users will join casinos for an alternative of mixer.

Remember that gambling contributes to the overall revenue of a certain country.

To give you an example: in the Philippines, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) is a government-owned corporation in which it presents itself as a gambling institution. It is responsible for providing a revenue of around $904 million, which is the largest among all the income streams generated by the government.1 Not only does the government benefit from gambling, it also creates a mechanism which enables them to create certain activities and programs for the society.

While mixers are going to be prohibited, I doubt that gambling companies would be affected in this move.

524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I learnt from a crackhead about gambling on: December 05, 2023, 03:24:35 PM
Addiction's no joke, wheather it's drugs or gambling. Both mean you just can't stop, no matter how bad you wanna.  With drugs, getting hooked is part physical - your body needs that fix.  Gambling's different cuz it's all in your head. The main thing is, addicts are always chasing after that high or rush they get from their habit, whether its drugs gambling, or something else.

I agree with you completely.

Actually, I am currently living with someone who is struggling with his drug and gambling addiction. Unfortunately, he became worse when the pandemic happened which further made him really unstable to live with. Not only did his relationship with the family members became sour, he is slowly self-destructing himself with the society (e.g. lots of debts, etc.) as he is currently unemployed.

This is the reason on why I advocate for change and discipline. At the end of the day, everything is bad when it is too much. Gambling is not entirely bad- what makes it destructive is if the person cannot control his greed which can slowly transition to madness.
525  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme. on: December 02, 2023, 08:23:21 PM
It's not entirely wrong to view Bitcoin as a quick money gain, as it can be faster than investing in property or stocks. However, the problem lies in how people approach it, making Bitcoin not meet their expectations. They should understand the basics of Bitcoin first before making significant investment decisions just because they see their friends succeeding in the world of Bitcoin.
What you say is true when compared to other investments, BTC can become rich if they study Bitcoin properly and correctly. Maybe more precisely, Bitcoin can make people rich if they maintain it and are patient. If Bitcoin is a get-rich-quick scheme, this is just wrong because BTC investment is not like that, everything requires analysis and process so that we can get big profits in the future.

Many out there, especially those who are still beginners, view Bitcoin as a quick way to riches, so when they don't achieve what they want they will say Bitcoin is a scam. In essence, no investment is a get rich quick scheme, it all requires time and patience.
Bitcoin investment is not hard to understand and follow through with, aside from having the capital to invest which is not enough because you will also need the knowledge too to navigate the market , without the knowledge as a newbie you can invest wrongly and start blaming that it's a scam.

With the proper knowledge you would know when it's the dip and how to take advantage, it's surprising to note that there are newbies that can't in clear cut distinguish the dissimilarity between technical analysis and fundamental analysis, for all they are focused on is making profit not knowing that the secret to making profits in cryptocurrency is knowledge. Which is why they have to learn first before all else.
Investing in Bitcoin is not a difficult task, people just need to understand the volatility of the market, it is something that is unpredicted.  When the market is being studied very well it is very easy for people invest in Bitcoin,  people  think they can become rich from bitcoin because they lack understanding. Bitcoin is a longtime investment that people needs to have patience to wait , some beginners always think that Bitcoin is something that they can start investing and get money immediately from it.

When it comes to investment, people tend to overestimate their expectations vs reality- I mean, it is not bad to dream big or to think of earning huge amounts of money in a short amount of time. But the difficult thing is being consistent with all the investments.

Cryptocurrency investment (or BTC) is something that should be fundamentally understood by the person investing before taking action. People should be aware of its potentials due to its unique characteristic being volatile- meaning its price changes every minute.

I just hope that people who invest think that there is no easy way of investing- if BTC investing were that easy, then everyone would be rich now.
526  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what is the importance of identify in your local board? on: December 02, 2023, 02:16:24 PM
1. Is it necessary for everyone to identify with their local boards and participate in the board discussions?

I do think it is recommended that you participate in your local boards to give it more traction and discussion.

From my experience in our local boards, some translate discussions to their respective local languages for better understanding. Also, the local boards discuss all crypto-related news that is currently happening on their country for everyone's awareness.

Quote
2. I would love to get a detailed aim For each of the local board and also know the kind of thread that's best to be created in the local board.

I think it all boils down to creating up-to-date news regarding cryptocurrencies in their country. Most of the information that I get comes from our local boardespecially when it comes to anything that is crypto-related. You'll never know when the government will have their stand/view regarding cryptocurrencies if you do not visit your local boards for the latest news.

Quote
3. If it's necessary to participate in the activity of the local board, what happens to the people whose local board is not in the forum.

If a specific language is not included in the forum's local board, I think they can suggest theymos in creating such. If not, then there is always the board of "BTC DISCUSSION" where english is the main language used!
527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You At Any Point In Time Blame Who Taught Or Led You To Gambling? on: December 02, 2023, 01:49:45 PM
I was guilty of this when I was a teenager not on online casinos but in a popular game on Fiesta It is a color game using dice, I was introduced here by my childhood friend and I had a lot of losses with this game, I'm using my school allowance so every time I lose money I blame my childhood for leading me to this color game I do it in a fun way as if I'm just joking but deep inside I hate it whenever I lose. I struggled to fight the temptation but the excitement led me to play again and again.
How about have you at any time blamed the one that led you to gambling in your mind, or even told him face to face?

I am of the opposite as I decided to stay away from gambling.

My father used to bring me and my brother to cockpit arenas to watch him fight various tournaments. Before the said fight, people would bet between the two (2) chickens, either "A" or "B" and the minimum bet was around $10 on our area. As you can see, my brother started with $20 and he ended up with $100; while I started with only $10 and lost the very first time I betted.

While I do understand that there were some moments when I still attempted to gamble and won a couple of times, I just cannot get myself to be addicted to a dangerous venture. Also, while others may be lucky, I just really consider myself as unlucky in these types of games which made me really decide to not to gamble.
528  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How does signature Campaign Sponsors make their money on: December 01, 2023, 11:55:31 PM
Often times I keep wondering how signature campaigns sponsors get their funds considering the huge amount of money they pay campaign members of their various Signatures and Avatars because some of the Signature Sponsors Refills their Escrow Funds on a weekly or monthly basis.

I want to know how advertising their Avatars and Signatures provides funds for the sponsors or is it that they just actually want their Signatures or their Avatars to be advertised to the public?

Remember that this forum is the biggest repository of any bitcoin/cryptocurrency related knowledge for everyone. The traffic here in this forum does not only come from the registered members but as well as non-members as well. Additionally, non-members can see signatures and avatars being advertised in all boards/threads across the forum.

From these facts alone, this can potentially generate hundreds to thousands of people visiting their respective website. The more people that advertise a certain company, the higher the chances that members and non-members would visit their website.

Lastly, if you can see some signature campaigns going on for more than 20+ weeks, then you can imply that they are profitable to support such campaigns.
529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How discipline are you in managing your bankroll? on: December 01, 2023, 11:42:06 PM
Bankroll management is vital for any positive sports bettor. I don't think there are many that do it professionally without a good roll management plan. Hard to stay level headed when you lose a game of inches.

I definitely agree with your statement.

I think this is where the cycle of gambling enters whenever a person experiences a loss on their game. They have this false hope of thinking that they can quickly recover their losses by gambling again, only to increase their losses further.

For those people who have someone to manage their expenses, this makes them level-headed and discipline when it comes to their expenses since they are somehow forced to withdraw from their gambling activities. I just hope that people would also follow this kind of example in order to prevent any over-expenditure on their allocated budget.
530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Using AI for betting predictions on: December 01, 2023, 11:24:35 PM
I have a developer who recently stumbled on multiple AI he uses for sport betting predictions, he uses it to generate sport bettings but none of the bets gets to be accurate as it generates tens of games. but when used to generate a much lesser number of games the predictions are sometimes  correct, at least 3 in 10 predictions of "multiple" bets.

But he loves having 30+ games "multiple" bet to win big amount and so far it has been a challenge in the last 5-6 weeks as his winnings have drastically dropped.

Should AI be relied on for sport betting predictions?

I am a believer that AI bots should be used as a supporting tool for predictions in sports betting. But, relying on it completely can be also risky, especially if a person does not know anything about the said sports.

Like what I have mentioned before, AIs were created in order to make our life easier. Since they can comply data, store information, and rely on statistics, they can be used as a tool in order to support a person in making his decision on which sports to bet on. But if you rely on it completely, it becomes potentially dangerous especially if you based everything on what they have said.

At the end of the day, a person's knowledge is still superior to that of AI. That is the reason on why using it as a tool can be beneficial rather than as an answer.
531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you make gambling a profession - a full time job on: December 01, 2023, 11:09:01 PM
<snip>
But, in a broader sense, can you make gambling a career path, abandoning all other sources of income to focus entirely on it?
If so, why?
If not, please advise!

I will not make gambling as an official job given the risks that are involved.

Gambling is a risky venture- meaning, there is no absolute guarantee that there can be profit. Sure, the returns may be high if you win the games but you can also lose all of your capital in one sitting. If you have bills to pay and obligations to settle, then gambling cannot answer for it on a consistent basis. The inconsistency of gambling is what makes this a dangerous path, especially if you weigh all the risks involved.

While there may be a couple of people (less than ~1%) that made gambling their profession, it still is a risky move for the average person to do it.
532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Its A Gambling Joke But Reflects Bad Things About Gambling on: November 30, 2023, 11:47:12 PM
<..snip..>

How about you do you have a gambling joke of your own or you've encountered that reflects the gambling experience of many, come share it here

Actually, this is somehow dark if you are going to look it at that perspective. It is funny but on that joke, it entirely encapsulates the possibilities that a person may experience if you make gambling a habit.

I have a joke that I would like to share:

How do you earn a small fortune from gambling?
Start with a large fortune.

It is also somehow dark but this is the reality of gambling- no matter how much we joke about it, remember that these jokes were written by people who have at least experienced them.
533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Two Carreer skill benefit of gambling on: November 30, 2023, 11:32:00 PM
Just to add on your list, I think the benefit of gambling is that it teaches you how to manage your expenses. It also teaches you to practice decision-making skills since you are on the very platform where it should definitely matter.

While there may be thousands of negative aspects about gambling, there are also some positive effects that we cannot overlook. But in all honesty, it is just not worth it to gamble purely if you want to experience its positive effects.

It's nice that someone's able to get some benefit out of gambling, I hope that this is the case for everyone that's gambling out there, for them to be able to get something positive out of gambling instead of just frustrations, anger and greed. As much as I congratulate OP for having gained those skills and seeing it improving his daily interaction with other people, I can't help but feel like this might not be applicable to other people, maybe you're already a social butterfly before you have gambled and it just so happens that you've improved more your already innate ability to socialize because sometimes there are people out there that's not really good at socializing and even when they gamble, they didn't improve in that aspect.

I agree that it is definitely nice to see people to look for the positive on the negative. But in all honesty, there are far better alternatives that people can exercise instead of doing gambling. I do think that making gambling as a habit can be destructive at the very least- that is why make it only as a recreational activity instead as a hobby.
534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why sports betting? on: November 30, 2023, 04:48:22 PM
With hundreds or probably thousands of games online, I'd like to ask why would you choose sports betting?

I believe that sports betting has become more popular here in the forum since most gambling sites, our reputable gambling sites are already sports betting on the menu. So, out of curiosity ( don't want to assume), what are the reasons why you fall in love with sports betting?

I think sports betting has the perfect combination of combining sports and gambling into one match. But in all honesty, watching with the thrill of winning money is like the ultimate adrenaline that a person may feel while trying this kind of activity.

On a more technical side, sports betting can be quite profitable if a gambler knows his information around the said sport. If he/she has the information about a certain team and its matchups, then you can somehow turn the tide in to your favour and speculate accurately.

Quote
Moreover, I like to know if you really believe you can win in sports betting in the long run, or you just really think no chance because every game can be win by luck, sports betting is not exemption.

As a general rule, gambling in the long run is not a good idea. The odds are proven to be on the side of the house since statistics provide that 51% of the time that the house would win.

I think the data/science speaks for itself- gambling in the long run is not recommended. To maximize your winnings, cash out it as soon as possible and avoid making it a habit.
535  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why rush, instead of taking your time to learn about the forum ? on: November 29, 2023, 11:59:13 PM
Whenever a person rushes the process, they tend to fail since it shows poor effort and lack of understanding the fundamentals.

I mean, it is never bad to dream big and to think of earning hundreds of BTCs at the same time. But as for everything, it involves a series of steps/processes that cannot be rushed at the same time. The person has to understand all the basics/fundamentals before they can even start some of the technical terms that are involved.

I have personally seen newbies who specifically joined this forum for signature campaigns and they tend to show perform poorly due to their lack of any understanding on the matter. Like what I mentioned, when you chase for merits, you will gain nothing.

That is why, learn and read respectively. Be inquisitive and be curious- this is not a race but a beautiful journey that can potentially give you profitable returns if you play your cards right.
536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accepting btc of tuitions payments for College/students? on: November 29, 2023, 11:47:32 PM
Is it possible in future students to pay tuition with cryptocurrency like btc or another. As we all know that only stable money can run a country, moreover btc price is unstable so you can't do that even if you want to.

I think this depends upon the educational institution if it is public or privately held.

Generally, private institutions have their discretion about their payment methods. Since an educational institution should be as understanding as possible, there is that possibility that they may accept BTC as payment.

As for public institutions in which the government controls the school, there is a high probability that BTC payments would not be accepted. Also, this is heavily dependent on its view about cryptocurrencies. Naturally, if the government of such country has a negative view on it, expect that it will not be accepted. On the other hand, if the government is in favor of cryptocurrencies, then there is that possibility that it may be accepted.

At the end of the day, to also save you the hassle, if you have enough BTCs to pay for your tuition, then convert them to your local currency through p2p or through some other method that will guarantee payment.
537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why the rich win gambling more than the poor. on: November 29, 2023, 11:34:31 PM
I have observed that the rich, I mean those who are financially comfortable, win more in gambling than the poor. By poor, I mean those who do not have enough to meet all their needs. I don't know the reason for this. Could it be that the rich understand financial management more? Or could it be that the rich are less desperate to win which make them make better gambling decision? I really want to know the reason for this pattern I have observed.

Statistically, the more you gamble, the higher the chances that you would experience your returns. Since the poor has a limited budget for their expenditure in gambling, then it is obvious that they only have a few chance for them to recover their losses.

Again, the more money that you have, the more chances that you would be able to gamble again your money. According to some sources, in a given day, a gambler has at least 30% of winning. While this may sound relatively low, this can be quite profitable if it is managed well. But the longer you gamble, the higher the chances of you losing as well.

In conclusion, players who have more resources have the privilege of gambling more compared to poor people who only have a limited budget. This gives the former more chances for them to recover their losses (this is assuming in an UNLIMITED budget).
538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think that this is aperfect analogy of how gambling addiction starts? on: November 29, 2023, 11:17:11 PM
Read this transcript of Andreas Analogy of how gambling addiction kicks off and tell me if you think he is right or not. Basically, your opinion.

Gambling is a tax for people who don't understand the mathematics of probability. If you understand how probability works,  you can't ever rationally gamble. The only reason you would gamble is if you decided, "I am going to lose money; the fun I have while I am losing money is worth it." "I am paying a fee for temporary fun." But most people cannot do that. Once you become drawn into the game, the gambling process triggers these responses. You start getting confirmation bias, selection bias, and survivor bias. These are known cognitive biases. The person who wins thinks they were lucky, but they don't think about all the times they lost. As you are doing this, it is triggering your dopamine centers.

I agree with him.

The problem of gambling stems from the hope that it can potentially give to a certain player. The best example here are slots where you can see dozens of slot machines, each having a significant amount of a grand prize worth millions of dollars respectively. In the eyes of a gambler, this is an opportunity where they can potentially win. Whenever they lose, they think that by gambling again, they can recover their losses.

I just really hope that people should start listening more about the horrors of gambling. It is already the 20th century yet people are still addicted to it. Even if all the resources are available, people still fall victim to gambling, which is very unfortunate.
539  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling are mainly for rich and lucky mind. on: November 29, 2023, 05:10:14 PM
It is obvious that no good thing that come easy and when you are not lucky in gambling you are not lucky and a lucky person in everything he tries might still be a lucky person on gambling because i dont see what you know you do consistently and is not favourable to you yet you are still in it, that is stupidity to a reasonable man and even if your taking it to be for funs but definitely you are spending carelessly on it and truly the mindset of a gambler is to get not to loose and on a casino game a real gambler must wisely have a plan and adhere on rules to actualize it target and rich gamblers stake high in a low game which is possible to win but does not get addicted  because he analyse and strategize before staking so if it is not favourable to you does not mean is not favourable to some lucky persons and these are the mindset of rich person(mind)not of the poor person (mind).

People who have good mind control definitely live life as carefree as they do when gambling. Some people may become gambling addicts because of the lack of self-control they have, but some are successful at gambling because they are able to manage their minds well. When you lose gambling one day, evaluate yourself and change your strategy for the better, gambling can give a person very positive things if the person does not turn into a gambling addict, often gambling addiction is the cause of a gambler's bankruptcy.

In conclusion, having the right mindset and goal before a person gamble is a key factor in order to control their expenses.

As we all know, gambling can quickly landslide and experience both the opposite ends- either a person gets really lucky and wins a significant amount; or a person falls on the cycle of gambling, thereby losing more in the process due to trying to recover their losses.

Since tons of post/threads have been created addressing the issue about managing one's expenses, this is more than enough for everyone to be reminded about this kind of activity.
