541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slot games are a waste of time and money (most of the time) on: November 28, 2023, 11:28:05 PM
Literally waste of time and money yet I'm still playing this shitty games for a chance to win big multiplier. The optimism on winning huge multiplier is they selling point of this game that's why many players keep playing this despite a terrible result in general.

You have literally encapsulated the reason why most people play slots- the possibility of winning a huge amount with that astronomically low chance of hitting the jackpot is what drives people to choose this game.

After I visited our local casino in our country, I have noticed that several of the people played slots. Every slot machine has two (2) jackpots- the GRAND jackpot and the normal jackpot in which the former contains like a million dollars on stake.

Quote
I can count using my finger my huge win on this game while I lose a lot on this game so in general this game is disaster for me just like you. I still preferred blackjack and sports bet compared to slot games if we are talking about the main game to play. I remember spending 4hrs of auto spin on slot game and end up in more than 50% loss to my bankroll plus migraine due to the animation.  Cheesy

Slots are really designed for a typical gambler to just play and call it a day. It is mostly catered to the people who impulsively gambles since it wastes no time and it shows the amount of money you could possibly win.
542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Many Bets to Know How Good Enough You Are? on: November 28, 2023, 11:04:29 PM
This depends upon several factors but the most common indicator to know that you should stop is when you have reached your budget for the day.

If you are the type of person who allocates a certain budget for gambling, then once you reach that threshold, then that is the sign for you to stop. However, if you do not have a designated budget since you gamble whenever you feel like to, then a good indicator is when you have realized that you have lost/won more than enough.

Again, this is a case-to-case basis scenario and this can depend on multiple factors. But having a designated budget is a good practice for a person to manage their expenses since this gives them their "reality check" when they gamble.
543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not gamble with Loan Money~otherwise you will be in danger like me on: November 28, 2023, 01:25:05 PM
Gambling with loan should be avoided. But not only that, also gambling with the amount of money that you can not afford to lose should be avoided. The reason I said this is because despite it is not advisable for gamblers to gamble with the amount they can not afford to lose, if they do, they are more likely to lose the money in their bank or wallet address and what they will look to is to get a loan if possible, so that they can continue to gamble. What will also still happen is that they will lose.

Imagine, you are doubling your risk if you ask for a loan and use it for your gambling activities.

Having a loan/debt itself is risky- sometimes it may be beneficial if you use it for a purpose that can potentially help your business grow. But if you are using a loaned money for a risky venture such as gambling, then you are doubling the risks that you may face. Not only is there the possibility of you losing your loaned money, but there is also that possibility that you may overextend your said budget.

OP is the living example of this nightmare. That is why, gamble responsibility everyone.
544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can old generation cause the habit of gambling in young generation ? on: November 27, 2023, 11:03:16 PM
There are some old people in my family which are paying cricket fantasy games. They usually talk about the games and their performance is matches almost daily. It is obvious that if any younger guy in family will listen about this, he will also be eager to know more about this. How can I stop the younger generation in my family being carried away by this and focus on other important things like studies only ?

It can cause but only affect to a certain extent.

If you a young person who lives in an environment of gamblers, then chances are that you are most likely to be influenced by their decision. You would be exposed to their actions as your curiosity would compel you to actually attempt/try the said act.

But even if a person is exposed in an environment of gamblers, there is still that chance that he/she would not gamble. Being exposed to gambling means knowing the risks involved- if the person wants to try and play the risks, then he/she would gamble. But if a person would want to avoid experiencing such kind of risks, then he/she would not even attempt to gamble.

At the end of the day, it really depends on one's decision over it. Personally, I would suggest that prevention is better than cure- stop exposing your kids into any form of gambling. If they are curious about it, then guide them and show the realities of gambling.
545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most gamblers do not believe they can consistently make money, that's why... on: November 27, 2023, 10:42:49 PM
Personally, I firmly believe that there are people who have achieved real success in gambling. What perplexes me is why many discourage gambling as a means of making money. Instead of outright saying no, they could guide gamblers with the right strategies on how to stay disciplined, enhance skills, minimize the risk of bankruptcy, and increase the chances of winning.

I think I somehow disagree with you.

With the nature of gambling that is involved, even if you apply some sort of technique/skill on the games, the chances of a person winning is still dependent on luck. The application of skill can barely help a person win a given round.

Also do note that if this were the case, then everyone would be rich. This is the reason on why majority of the people who gamble just lose their money at the end. Gambling relies on luck and luck cannot be controlled absolutely. You can at least twist it to a certain extent but the odds are still the main factor which determine whether a person would win or not.

If you're someone who doesn't believe anyone can be profitable in gambling, you might as well consider yourself not welcome in this thread. I'm looking for people who maintain optimism about their chances in gambling so they can share valuable insights.

Now, let's hear your opinion. In 3...2...1... go!

Even if a person remains optimism, the bank account speaks for itself! Man this is reality- gambling is a dangerous venture and everyone would agree to this.

Personally, I do think that you have yet to experience losing. You speak of gambling so highly that you quickly conclude that it can be a money-making venture. Open your eyes and accept reality- gambling cannot be profitable in the long run.
546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: A TOKEN to Save the Amazon and climate change ?????? on: November 25, 2023, 03:07:11 AM
There are just too many inconsistencies with your team page profile which makes me believe that this is NOT a genuine project. My reason are as follows:

First, the team member "Rokya" is clearly a female but she was described as a "male" with the use of pronouns of HIM and HE. In addition, you labeled her as a software developer but she is a graphic and image designer.

Second, Huy Hoang's information is named as "Anita" instead of his name Huy based on his profile. Upon checking his photo, he is a graphic designer for fiverr. I really doubt that he has something to do with the project.

Lastly, you have an anonymous team member and if you click on any of the social media accounts that they respectively have, you will just be transferred on the website itself.

Though these evidences are not 101% conclusive that this is a scam project, it is enough for me or for the average audience to mark this as a red flag if they plan on investing.

549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beginner needs your advices in gambling. on: November 16, 2023, 11:58:42 PM
I’m a new member here, and I want to gamble on online casinos. I found some good trusted casinos. And I want to begin with a game with a low budget. First, I need your suggestions about the best games, slots. Live casino for a beginner.
Do you think Me starting gambling would effect me in my real life or make me addicted to gambling. What’s you suggestion and advices.

I think this entirely depends on your style of play and preference.

If you are looking for a quick and easy game with no complications at all, then you may consider playing slots. This game was invented for the simplest reason- to quickly gamble and test your luck. Be aware, however, that slots have a significantly low chance of you winning compared to other gambling games that are available.

If you have time, then you may also consider card games such as poker, blackjack, etc. These games have a skill ceiling in which you can apply various techniques in order to gain an advantage over your opponents. The only downside to this game is that some games take relatively longer to finish.

If you plan on looking for the middle ground between two (2) aforementioned games, then I suggest playing baccarat. It is a fun game on its own and the rules are also simple for you to understand.
550  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What would you tell your younger self to learn this space efficiently? on: November 16, 2023, 11:45:20 PM
Hello,

With all the knowledge you have everything regarding cryptocurrency, what would you tell your younger self in order to learn the best / fastest to get the most out of this space?

Such as: trading, strategies, technical info, learning methods etc etc,

Any help or guidance is appreciated  Cheesy

I would actually tell myself to keep all the BTCs that I have earned since 2017 from campaign signatures!

Back in 2017, I was a college student desperate in needing money in order to purchase study materials. Living with a family of 5 with a single dad is truly challenging- the priorities are somehow focused more on my younger siblings. As the eldest of all my brothers, I have this duty where I should also provide them the needs that they have whenever they ask for something.

Though this may be the case, I would still tell my younger self to HODL and remind myself that days will be better in the future.

Trying the unknown and winning big time is really fun experience.

Sometimes when we move out of our comfort zone, new surprises come our way. Perhaps I could try going out of my way too but playing responsibly of course.

Congratulations for your first time big win on slot game. Sharing the streamer's link can also encourage more gamblers to follow up.

This is actually quite rare- winning a slot game after watching a streamer gambling also!

Generally, streamers have a bad reputation on a gambling platform due to some bias happening. People have this misconception that ALL streamers have bias rates in which they stream games that have predetermined results in order to attract gamblers in a specific platform. Well from my experience, this is actually what happened and eventually that gambling platform closed.

Congratulations for your win, OP! May this win bring you more luck in the future!
552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do Owners of betting companies bet? on: November 15, 2023, 11:58:23 PM
Do owners of betting companies place bet on their own platform or is there a policy specific policy that restricts them from betting. Do you think that there would be conflict of interest or that it will be unethical if owners bet on their own platforms. These are the questions that I am seeking an answer to.

I do not think that there is a policy which restricts them from betting as they are the owners of the platform in the first place. In fact, they have the power to stipulate anything on the TOC that can either prejudice the gamblers or himself in the process. Additionally, he has also the discretion whether to fix the rates and to determine the house edge of the whole casino.

I also do think that they try their own platform just to check if there are bugs or problems that a future gambler may encounter. Nothing restricts them completely as they are the owners in the first place. They have the freedom to do anything and to change anything to their liking.
553  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Start small and don't get tired of growing in the process. on: November 15, 2023, 11:47:40 PM
Most people dream big- big in a way that they want to grow quickly as soon as possible. But what most have failed to realize that starting small but with a consistent pacing is the key to success in earning potentially huge profits.

It is not definitely wrong to dream big and have this mindset of earning huge amounts of money in the shortest possible time. But if you are skipping tons of fundamentals and basics by disregarding them completely, then these people can potentially experience a burn-out.

Invest on knowledge more than money. In this way, as you grow and learn from your mistakes, you are also investing on your experiences which has a direct impact on how a person can potentially earn more in the process

At the end of the day, invest more on knowledge, start small but with consistent pacing, and accept your failures are some of the keys to a successful investment as a whole.
554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What percentage of bitcoin investors are gamblers ? on: November 15, 2023, 11:40:52 PM
What percentage of bitcoin investors are gamblers ?  Where will this figure be if we consider worldwide users ? I think it will be somewhere between 10-20% ? Also, it is possible that most of gamblers are still not bitcoin investors ? I see  less chances of the later happening.

This is a very difficult question to answer as there can be no accurate percentage of players who are at the same time investors.

In addition, the only information that we can gain and accept is that every investor has at least tried gambling in their lives. While it may not be cryptocurrency gambling, at least some sort of gambling where they risked their money in a risky environment. While this may be the case, we must all understand that a crypto-gambler has at least experienced investing on their lives; and the opposite also applies to this situation.
555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever Thought of Giving Back to the Community? on: November 15, 2023, 11:26:04 PM
Have you ever thought of giving back to the community if you ever had a successful gambling run? One of those punters on X, who usually wins large sums of money from betting, is giving out about 25 laptops to folks who cannot afford them, and he recently paid for someone's cybersecurity online course. Do you think this is something that you can do—give back to the community from your gambling runs?

There was a time that I felt that I had to donate something to the community but this was after playing a game where I had a very successful run. Though this may be the case, instead of giving back the community, I treated my family members and colleagues instead.

My brother sees the profit from gambling as "dirty money" where it must be spent as soon as possible. All of his winnings are then spent on all obligations that he has to pay in order to prevent himself from going back and spending his profit in gambling again.

At the end of the day, what matters is your intention. Even if you do not give back to the community, no one will judge you but yourself. Donating money does not entirely equate you from being a bad person.
556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not perfect, and that's okay. on: November 15, 2023, 11:17:15 PM
doesn't make it the "tool for terrorism" as the governments want people to believe.
Is this really a thing that governments are discussing these days? Because the other day I saw another topic around the same subject here and despite the FUD about illicit usage being old it makes me wonder whether they are starting it up again?

I highly think that this is the only argument that the government that can think of. With all the advantages and benefits that one can gain from just earning BTC, people may still find a way to focus on its negative aspect and make it like a non-negotiable thing with them.

I just find it really funny whenever I read posts arguing that BTC should be avoided because it is a "tool for terrorism" due to its anonymity factor. I mean, anything an be a tool for terrorism; even money or fiat can be used by these people for illegal and illicit activities.
557  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Client Executives Kidnapped, Forced to Empty Crypto Wallets on: November 14, 2023, 11:56:47 PM
First of all, your topic is in the wrong place, it should be in Bitcoin Discussion.

Also, technically anyone who uses the Binance exchange is a client, so I imagine a lot of people who happen to use Binance had been extorted & robbed over the platform's lifetime too.

But kidnappings? That only happens quite rarely.

I agree with your statement.

Kidnapping a client involves knowing that such a customer is a client of Binance in the first place. Probably the kidnappers have done their research on whom to target as their next victim. Also, the fact that they also know the basics of transactions imply that they probably know their knowledge in the crypto space.

These are just some of the things that can potentially happen in any kind of currency in which money is involved. I just hope that people would be able to secure their funds and lives at the same time to prevent things from happening.
558  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Conclusion after losing millions! that games are rigged. on: November 14, 2023, 11:40:03 PM
With hundreds of players placing bets on Stake, there could always be another bettor winning on the other end, so I wouldn't say it's straight-up rigged. I've experienced the same losses whenever i'm upping my bet size, but I think it's more about the house edge tipping the numbers in favor of the casino than the game being rigged. Also, slots have one of the worst win probabilities, so it's expected to see gamblers lose frequently. I've heard a similar discussion where they said the developers can cause bigger betting sizes to lose more, but I can't tell if it's true.

Stake is considered one of those well-known and reputable gambling site that ever existed. They spend millions of dollars in marketing and advertising since they even hire famous actors and rappers (e.g. Drake) to be their brand ambassador. With that kind of money involved, I am definitely sure that there are taking extreme care of their image and reputation on the market.

If their games are rigged, then somehow or someone would have to compile and send the necessary proof to their CS. I doubt that they would risk their reputation for rigging their games and earning thousands of bucks in return.
559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gambling and Invest in gambling. on: November 14, 2023, 11:22:26 PM
At my visits in the gambling grounds, I will be lending my funds to the losers who has run out of  funds and willing to bet more if they have more money.
I tends to make this a deal with interest charges with concrete agreement to be secured and I will be opened to also accepting collaterals.

I verily know that I will succeed more of the inexperienced and those gamblers who doesn't have gambling budgets including those who can't take control over their gambling emotions

So you plan on being a loan shark? This kind of business is a risky venture since you are dealing with two (2) risks here:

  • First, the gambler must win the money that you have lent them; and
  • Second, the gambler must pay you back on the agreed interest rate and timeframe of the debt.

Again, these are two (2) concurring risks that can definitely increase the chances of you losing your money. Let's assume that the gambler won, but is the winnings enough to cover the debt he/she just borrowed? Sure, the gambler won and he/she has enough money to pay you back- but are they willing to pay you back in the first place? What if they decided to never settle the debt with you?

This may be a good idea in an ideal world but with all the risks involved, I think there are better options for you to consider than this kind of venture.
560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler's family action. on: November 14, 2023, 11:04:28 PM
Just two questions here:
1. Dis the family of this young man went too extreme in trying to help stop their brother from gambling addiction or not?

What do you mean by "extreme" ? Remember, family will go to lengths just to help their members get away from an activity that can also potentially endanger their situation. Personally, there exist no such extreme measure when it comes to solving the addiction of a person if the end result would be benefit to everyone.

Quote
2. Assuming you are this young man and you had to run to a distant location to carry out your gambling as you are allowed to gambling within your neighborhood and luckily you won huge sum of million dollars. Would you share that money with your loved ones who were barring you from gambling or you will just stay off from them and live new found wealthy live alone?

I would definitely share it with them.

At the end of the day, my family members care about my life and livelihood as a whole. They will not attempt to stop my gambling activities if they know that I am being destructive in my lifestyle. Their intention is pure and good- they want me to stop and be responsible with my expenses, so it is natural for them to care.
