1541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Altcoins? on: October 15, 2022, 03:13:25 PM
It all depends on what you need but I highly recommend to diversify your investments for maximum profit.

Personally, BTC is the way to go due to its inflationary nature. While there may be lots of altcoins in the market, the fact still remains that BTC is the reigning cryptocurrency in the market with its price higher than every altcoin present. With this in mind, the potential and opportunity of doubling your money is quite higher compared to some altcoins.

While this may be the case, diversifying and investing in both BTC and altcoins is the preferred method in order to maximize your profits and minimize your losses.
1542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I find way to win on dice on: October 15, 2022, 02:53:00 PM
Do only 50% bet 20$ every time if it fails do 60$ it fails do 150$ if it fails do 350$ if it fails do 900$ if it fails do 2300$

There is no way you will fail 7 times and if you do just increase the bet and you will get it back eventually even if you wait 12 times.

what you think on my method?

Believe it or not, there are people who tried the martingale strategy and failed 5-8 times in a row. While this strategy may quickly recover your losses, the problem with the martingale strategy is that you are required to use significant amounts of your capital in order for it to work.

While this kind of strategy may work to others, this is somehow difficult for people who only have a relatively small amount of capital to being with. The value of capital that you have to prepare significantly increases the moment you lose.
1543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Survey] Do you still play or stop the game? on: October 15, 2022, 02:38:36 PM
If you are playing gambling for example slots and you double money with just a couple of bets on very early part of your game. Will you stop already or continue playing to earn more?

I’ve been on this situation many times before and I keep playing until I get the entertainment that I want and to have more profit. But the result is always ended up losing everything because it’s very easy to increase bet if you knew that your money that you use is a profit.  Cheesy

As a rule of thumb, any circumstance or chance that will double my initial gambling fund would most likely convince me to stop gambling.

I remember a few years back, my brother had like $600 of his monthly savings and we went to this casino. He told me to specifically stop him as soon as we won $20 from the bet. Eventually, we won a total of $200 and I was convincing him to stop already but he still insisted on going on. Unfortunately, the whole $600 was lost in the process.

Every time I remember this memory, it keeps me sane and firm to stop gambling as soon as I win my initial bet back.

1545  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: That one thing I like about Bitcointalk on: October 11, 2022, 05:13:54 PM
If you have to talk about the coins you are currently holding or how many btc you have in your wallet online make sure you aren't using your real picture, many people lost their lives in robbery through pictures they posted online, some mistakenly reveal their location, this is why I recommend bitcointalk to my friends, its not social like twitter where you can throw the world your handsome faces, this forum is the safest place to discuss everything crypto

We are all friends on here but I don't know how Fillippone, theymos or the_pharmacist looks like, a male or female? I don't know and I believe it's for the best.

This is indeed, the safest way to discuss anything that is related about cryptocurrencies BUT you have to avoid posting any information about your private keys, wallets, and other relevant information. Prevention is always better than cure- that is why avoid posting any data that may potentially harm you!

While this forum also is the biggest repository of crypto discussions, it is also filled with tons of scam projects and fake giveaways under some boards. That is why, always exercise diligence and proceed with caution especially if you receive some random message from a newbie or at least anyone asking for funds.
1546  Economy / Reputation / Re: Choice of Username and people's perception on: October 11, 2022, 04:44:57 PM
I'm sure you've heard of the saying that "a tiger dies leaving its fangs behind, an elephant dies leaving its tusks behind but a human dies leaving their NAME behind".
The intent and purpose of the saying is for real life, but it does not rule out that it can be applied on the Bitcointalk forum. Wherever we stand, we must always provide benefits to others so that you are always remembered when you are gone or have left the forum. It doesn't matter if someone uses a forum name that has nothing to do with their life or just uses a user name (Hello, Mmmhh, etc).
The forum does not see how good the name used on the account is, what the forum needs is how much you contribute while you are here, that's what makes you always remembered for giving a lot of education and knowledge to other users.

that's very true, your name (or your account) is remembered because of the contribution you make to those around you, in this forum, there are many strange and funny account names but have great contributions and are accounts with extraordinary posts.
but you also have to recognize your own ability, you don't need to force yourself to be able to make a big contribution, just don't commit fraud and plagiarism, I think it's enough to protect your good name (your account reputation).

Overall, the name of a person would almost become irrelevant and immaterial given that he/she has contributed so much to the forum. There are lots of people here in this forum where their names are somehow weird and alien- like sometimes it is filled with numbers and letters but they become so much irrelevant due to the work they have provided.

A person who judges someone quickly just because their initial impression stemmed from the username is also the same person who would most likely contribute nothing to the forum. Do not worry, OP- this forum is truly forgiving as people will based their perceptions depending on your overall contribution and courtesy in this forum.
1547  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cashback VS Bonus on: October 11, 2022, 04:13:01 PM
Hey guys. Apart from winning let's talk about loosing  Wink
We all have bad days...
So the question is...if you loose many times in a row, what would you like at most - a cashback from what you've just lost or a bonus to go on?

Personally, I would prefer cashback since it literally recovers some of your losses back to your funds. Unlike in bonus which involves a bonus deposit, it is dependent upon an initial deposit in order for you to utilize it. For example, if a person deposits $100 to his online gambling website and he incurs losses, the cashback would allow him to at least try to recover his losses by betting again.

For deposits, on the other hand, while it may be argued that they go hand-in-hand with cashbacks, these are to be preferred if you are planning on depositing large amounts of currencies in one go.
1548  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone Use Or Using this Strategy In Casino on: October 11, 2022, 03:04:21 PM
Anyone has done this strategy before, where it will take you less than 5 minutes to use up all your bankroll, you log in deposit bet on the dice game, and put all of your bankrolls in one shot, it kills the meaning of entertainment in gambling because you can lose and win everything in one bet or roll.

I have not done this before I never put everything in one go or bet in luck based games because I want to feel the game and if I'm going to lose I want to enjoy my session first.

I honestly believe that the ones that do this are the people who focuses on profit-earning in gambling. Since they do not necessarily need to feel the enjoyment of gambling via betting, they just want to get this over with by gambling in one single punch, all-out.

Personally, I would avoid this kind of "strategy" since it somehow ruins the purpose of gambling. If you put all of your resources in one go, then it basically becomes a Hail Mary shot- either you win or you lose. The problem with this, however, stems from its nature that you cannot recover your losses by betting again. Though this is actually more of an advantage rather than a disadvantage as it dissuades you from gambling further.
1549  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it possible to calculate how much the price of BTC? on: October 11, 2022, 01:50:30 PM
I think it is definitely impossible to determine absolutely with accuracy the price of BTC in the market. There are several factors that drive its price, which is mostly dependent upon supply and demand. Given that BTC is also volatile in nature, its value changes at least almost every single minute or second of the day.

Many have attempted to at least forecast the price of BTC in the following days by considering both intrinsic and extrinsic factors. When you put them into consideration, it can yield to to you some signs and factors that can somehow determine whether to invest or not.

I joined long time back on 2017. still member. i am really ashamed about it.I want to increase to legendary. please help what should i do?

You should not be ashamed about being a member rank here in this forum. Remember, this forum was not made for anyone desiring to be in a race but it is the journey and the knowledge that you gather that makes this forum very essential to everyone.

Personally, try to change your mindset on ranking-up. Instead, focus more on learning and contributing to the forum as a whole. When you have this kind of mindset, forum ranks will be the by-product of the efforts you put in posting.
1551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: High roller looking for KYC-FREE casino on: October 10, 2022, 11:37:28 PM
I want to find a new casino without the need to expose myself to the KYC process. I don't want this thread to discuss the pro's and con's of KYC.
I want to remain a private person and gamble.
My play has made me the number 1 player at Blackjack.fun, wagering over 2000BTC
Things that are important:
KYC free obviously
good customer service
instant withdrawals
a community would be a plus
a decent range of games that are bug free

Thanks for taking your time to help me with the wide range of choices.

Wagering over 2000 BTC? Man, you are definitely a madman when it comes to betting. Like, you can actually wage that kind of amount while it is remotely impossible for people to obtain at least 1 BTC in their lifetime.

Anyway, most online casinos nowadays require KYC for both the protection of the gambling websites to comply with their respective local laws and for the gambler in order to have some sense of security. I somehow doubt that you will be able to find a casino that will match the criteria you provided; let alone a safe and secured one.
1552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2024 Bitcoin Halving - What are Your Expectations!!! on: October 10, 2022, 10:39:41 PM
From this thread alone, you cannot argue with facts that every halving, the prices of BTC increase in the market. Maybe, this is the golden opportunity for people to acquire as much BTC as they can garner in order to take advantage of the halving either for short or long-term investment. I mean, this is literally the solid proof and evidence that every halving, the prices of BTC increase!

Personally, I would not touch all the proceeds that I received from my campaign signature earnings and I will make it a point to invest at least $20-$40/month in acquiring BTC. The return is just too much profitable for me to ignore this kind of opportunity.
1553  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you ready to spend crypto when market is down on: October 10, 2022, 04:20:21 PM
Hello Everyone,

I am not speaking about just Bitcoin. I am speaking about every cryptocurrency / token.  Regardless of crypto price fluctuations, many online and offline stores are ready to accept crypto as payment. So How will willing are you to spend crypto for your purchases?

If one doesn't spend their crypto for purchases and wait for to spend their crypto when its price is nice, are they really considering it as a cryptocurrency or can we assume like those people are treating more like a security or investment instrument?

I think the answer is a case-to-case basis as it really depends on the situation.

Generally, I treat my BTCs as an investment where I can almost liquidate if the need arises. Given that there are tons of exchanges where you can easily convert your cryptocurrencies to your desired currency, if the need really arises then I will most definitely convert my BTCs to cash regardless if it is a bullish or bearish market.

Again, treat your investments as something that can be used anytime. If an unexpected emergency suddenly occurs, do not hesitate to use your investments as the fund for it (assuming that your emergency fund cannot answer for the fees needed).
1554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sicodice scam on: October 10, 2022, 02:46:28 PM
90% winning rate but 100% lose every stake i bet.
From starting the process is still normal, suddenly keep losing every stake i bet.
Stay away from Sicodice, i hate it. SCAM
https://youtu.be/537Zmzn10DQ

Well, I guess you just played yourself. A 90% chance of winning may be dubious and treacherous at the same time given the high odds of winning. Though you mentioned that you lost every stake that you bet, I recommend that you post your evidence of your losses. A gambling company that claims to have 90% of winning must adhere to their advertisement, or else it will backlash against it.

I recommend OP that you post all of your matches here for proper evidence. If they really claim that 90% is the chances of winning and you lost every time you bet, then something is fishy with it.
1555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: REFLEX ACTION IN GAMBLING AND TIPS TO AVOID ITS PITFALLS. on: October 09, 2022, 11:14:19 PM
The main issue with gambling is money and greed impair judgement and decision making. Gambling with money is very similar to driving a car drunk with alcohol.

That's what makes it so hard to stay composed and disciplined when gambling, money and risk are involved.
....

Interesting comparison as it is easier to visualize in another perspective.

The nature of gambling makes it so risky to the point that your initial response to a loss is to recover it quickly. Now it begs the question: "what is the fastest way of recovering it on the spot?" Some might suggest to quit gambling and call it a day but majority would respond and answer to gamble again and try out your luck!

With this kind of vicious cycle, a person would get stuck thinking that the only way to recover your losses is via gambling again in the same situation. Unfortunately, only a few can get out of this circle while many remain hopeful that by gambling again, they would recover their losses (which is the ideal scenario but they experience otherwise).
1556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anderson Silva vs Jake paul who you bet on? on: October 09, 2022, 10:21:23 PM
I'd bet on Jake just because he's the one who initiated this fight and for his previous bouts against MMA legends, he won those with questionable performances from his enemies. Might be the same outcome in here if Silva is motivated only by money, which somewhat shows on some interviews that were done to him. +100 isn't also a bad odd to bet on considering that Jake Paul is also a capable boxer in his own regard. If skills and grit I'd say Silva, but again this is a Paul initiated fight and that should suggest you something.

I would bet otherwise- even if Anderson Silva is at least 45 years old, experience will take you further compared to someone who is relatively new to this sport.

Anderson Silva is known by many as a legend in UFC. He is a former middleweight champion and his techniques are surprisingly deadly. Though he is against a 25+ year old with more stamina, he can outsmart Jake Paul with his experience and training from all the fights that he'd experience on the field. Not to mention, just one grapple and the fight could be over in an instant.

Of course, this is all situational but if I were to bet my money, I would most likely go all in for Anderson Silva.
1557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will You Support Casino Operated By The Bitcointalk Members on: October 09, 2022, 09:47:23 PM
I'm sure by now you have read about a casino review site where the admins are trusted members of Bitcointalk, which  I believe is good for the community because they have a good roadmap and we all know their capability as gambling reviewers
but what if reputable members here decided to put their own casino will you support them and will this become a conflict of interest if they are already or have promoted casinos in the present or in the past, what's your take on this?
Maybe in the future, we'll have one.

Like what I always mentioned on similar posts like these, an essential feature of a gambling website are positive feedback and reviews from its current players. If the online gambling casino website contains positive reviews, then it is more reason than enough for me to at least try it out. Another thing, the fact that the gambling website is also operated by bitcointalk members imply that it will have an active customer support system- which is definitely a must.

I also do not think that it will be a conflict of interest. Given that there is a lot of competition nowadays, it is nothing but normal for people to create their own venture and explore this type of profit-making.
1558  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When You Heard About Bitcoin For the First Time? on: October 09, 2022, 01:49:29 PM
I know guys it's silly question but I was wondering that wether how people got in to bot oinnand other cryptocurrency.
My case is that in 2017 I heard in news that Bitcoin that is a digital cryptocurrency Crossed real gold for the First time. At that time it's price was above 1000 dollars. And that git me interested and I want to know more about crypto and now I am here and I making post 😁

It was also back in 2017 when I first head about cryptocurrencies (BTC to be specific) and I was baffled about it. As someone who had no experience or anything whatsoever, the thought of having a decentralized currency was truly astonishing! Especially when my friend introduced me to this forum, it opened a plethora of opportunities to invest and to discover about the existence of BTC.

Now that it has been 5+ years now, I can truly say that BTC is something that is something innovative that everyone should know. I just hope that government prohibitions would allow its further implementation in order to take advantage of its uses.
1559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2022 on: October 08, 2022, 05:51:45 PM
To be honest, I don’t understand what Niemann was counting on when he started cheating? Chess is a completely calculated game, therefore, having all his games in the history (as well as any other chess player), it is impossible to hide the fact of cheating - some statistical parameter will give you away.
He probably did it for the very same reason that we see cheating on sports, very quickly people realize that the only ones that get any attention are the top performers and they earn way more money than the rest of their peers, and they also realize they have no chance of reaching that level, they are good but they are not that good, so they see in cheating a way to try to get to their goal, but they forget that no matter how good they are at hiding what they are doing they are going to eventually get caught.

Yes, in the end it all comes down to making a profit. Niemann has cheated in 10 cash prize tournaments, and chess.com is ready to defend this point of view in court (since they published their report). It surprises me that after such a scandal, there are still no sanctions from FIDE - they just created a commission to determine if he cheated in games over the board.

Confirmed swindler, thief and scum without any problems participates in the US Chess Championship.
By the way, today there will be an interesting game between Niemann and Caruana https://www.uschesschamps.com/2022-us-championships/pairings-results

When COVID hit, I think that it was the time that he executed the opportunity of cheating. Lots of sports and companies slowly shifted to that kind of setup and security was not that stringent compared now. Given that most sports/companies have adapted to this kind of setting, they now have all the means of security in detecting these kinds of cheats.

What Niemann and the other cheaters did is just a disgrace to Chess. More importantly, he cheated on multiple tournaments that involved cashed prizes. I wonder what kind of prohibition and ban would Niemann get and the other FM-GMs as well.

Anyway, I do seriously recommend the game that transpired between Magnus and Korobov!
1560  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How hard to detect scams nowadays? on: October 08, 2022, 05:34:10 PM
While I agree on most points that you raised, a brand-new project is not necessarily and absolutely a scam- but the risks are too high to justify your decision in investing.

There are lots of projects who are brand-new nowadays as anyone could actually create one. But if you are really keen on investing on one, you have to be responsible by checking all the necessary details in a project. Check if they have a genuine domain, a well-written whitepaper, and all the consequences that follow that proves that it is real and active.

Another thing to keep in mind is to always asks questions. If you feel like this brand-new project could be real, do not hesitate to ask questions TO THE RIGHT people.
