How is Dogie wrapped up in all this?
642  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [GUIDE] B's Moderated Biased & Opinionated Miner Sellers Trustworthiness Guide on: February 06, 2015, 04:51:51 PM
Technobit customers still waiting for product and Dogie still rates them 10/10 for Ethics and Shipping what gives?

It really is amazing that Dogie can ding Spondoolies Tech time and time again and yet never adjusts Technobit down appropriately given the hundreds of complaints posts in these forums.

Marto/Technobit isn't responding to pm, has not logged in here in 3 days, looks like we are fucked. Time to file a claim with the EU customer protection unit, Bulgarian section, www.ecc.bg/submit-a-complaint.htm

I would love to write a review for the 2hex8m but I'm still waiting for my 2 to arrive ordered in December pre production batch. To this day I've had promise after promises from Martin when I have phoned, but much to my dismay I'm 606 euros down no miners and not much more to say really.
I'd just like my money back now so I can buy myself something useful like a bike
peace all

643  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Philipma1957's attempt to rate current Manufacturers of Asic . Results in. on: February 06, 2015, 04:47:38 PM
What about attempting to rate the current manufacturers?

Perspective and on topic.

Avalon is not the company you want to do any deals with given their history.

There are better companies. Better prices and better equipment out there.

Given that you can't make anything mining at home why bother?

Seriously if you are doing it for a hobby put some coins into a company that hasn't basically killed a whole swath of open hardware designers single handedly like Avalon.

There is a reason to avoid them make the right choice.

If people were strictly concerned with the ideology of home mining and not ROI'ing, they would just buy a dozen or less Bitmain U3's or a couple old S3's to underclock and get that warm fuzzy feeling inside. Doesn't change the fact that it makes no more sense than buying an Avalon 4 though. Huh  Surely the U3's/S3's would be quiet too, and you would lose less of your money. Avalon project/Canaan missed the boat with this one, it was clear to see all the way back in the fall (too little too late).

PS Has anyone buying these even run models?  Even with 0% difficulty increase, $0.05/KWh and $300/BTC price (all quite unrealistic atm except maybe power cost), they would take over 200 days to ROI.  Give your head a shake people.  Anyone that is promoting these quite obviously has something to gain, and it's not your hand in friendship  Undecided.

I got a S5, 2 S1, I had mutiple usb miner and now I got a Avalon4. We try to make the best evaluation of all miners.
The S5 is lound as hell but with modification you can reach something nice.

I have my miners in my livingroom so I need something quiet. Right now, the Avalon4 is really quit. I also mine on solar power and I mine to be part of the bitcoin system not to get rich. If I can do money over it well good.

I do agree that the Avalon4 is right now not cheap but its a good miner for home miners that dont want to modify anything.

We've been though this, Canaan Creative is NOT Avalon.

Avalon renamed themselves to Canaan Creative after their Gen 1 shit-storm.

Irrespective of history, the current Avalon products are not price/performance competitive, at all, with SPTech or Bitmain.

Call it pudding when it is actually dogshit doesn't make it pudding.

As everyone is pointing out. Avalon is not the units you are looking for.
645  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [GUIDE] B's Moderated Biased & Opinionated Miner Sellers Trustworthiness Guide on: February 06, 2015, 01:00:18 PM
Minersource stole over a million in equipment from Black Arrow. Black Arrow stole millions from customers. Where does it end?

This situation just screams for law enforcement to get to the bottom of this. Stay away from both companies. You have been warned again.

Minersource is falsely claiming that we have not shipped ordered merchandise while in fact they have stolen $1050000 from us through fraud.
...

What about the $5k you stole from me you fucking piece of shit?
646  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Philipma1957's attempt to rate current Manufacturers of Asic . Results in. on: February 06, 2015, 05:12:56 AM
Don't buy Avalon... just a simple mantra.

Why is that?

I'm about to buy a piece to put it beween sp20 and s3+(maybe s5 soon)

Ethically this company is one that people should avoid given they cost consumers millions in lost revenue with their chip fiasco.

This piece of gear I get will be the first one I ever had from them.

Most every builder has had fuckups.

Asic Miner -------------The prisma
Bitmaintech -----------The first s-2's
Sp-Tech ----------------The sp30

Reading the forums some felt they got the correct  fixes some say no.

No point to buying an Avalon given it is less efficient than competition and you will heavily mod it to meet your local needs. Just get an SP20 or S5 or next offering and do the same. Why support this company that price gouged and lost our community a fair number of good open source hardware teams?  Perplexing.
647  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: February 06, 2015, 04:59:22 AM
It would be worth it to me, 5% improvement in efficiency when its hard enough barely breaking even... is all the difference.
I don't want to disagree with you. I just want to give you a different perspective.

You probably discounting your per hour work time charge to some very low rate. I presume that the industrial-scale miners will not be able to hire highly conscientious people like you to run their operations. Their employees will be more like Bruce Peterson of the BFL's burn-in-room fame.

Invoking Bruce's name in a Spondoolies thread... the ultimate contrast.

I think I will give SP a try. I been using bitmain as they have done me no wrong personally. But SP also appears to produce solid hardware. Not a fan of how involved they get in sponsoring surveys that favor them. But If the SP20e performs as I have been reading, then its worth at least a trial run in my environment (most of my monitoring is custom). The numbers don't lie when it comes to performance.

Let us put that survey / poll in perspective given what passes as fanboi promotion time and time again in these forums.

We can give Spondoolies a thumbs up or thumbs down nothing more or less. In the 100s of user posts not one person has remained negative towards buying a Spondoolies product. I can't find one person that has had an issue with Spondoolies that hasn't been happy or at least satisfied with the resolution of the issue. For the most part the units are some of the best being offered. They ship on time and often to spec and if off spec refunds / reimbursements have been offered.

I think the poll is a good gauge of CONSUMER feeling but you can read through all the threads, like I usually do, to find out why Spondoolies is the most trust fabricator currently. You don't need a poll to prove it. The forum has ample evidence to support that results of that poll.

Unfortunately some people want to make more of stink about say Asicminer or Bitmain given their issues but to be honest those companies also try and do their best to rectify the mountain of problems they have.

That is not the case of say Bitmine, Black Arrow, Minersource, Avalon, Technobit, BFL, KNC, HashFast, Cointerra and others. But if you read my guide you will see that.

There is no real need to buy equipment for home mining or small mining operations you are fighting a losing cause. But if you are still painfully ignorant of the mining world or mine for fun or whatever reason besides a return on your investment then it is either Spondoolies or Bitmaintech right now. Edge goes to Spondoolies based on customers service and superior build quality. I don't need a multiple column framework using a ten point sliding scale to know that. Anyone in direct competition with Spondoolies also knows this and are scared.

However Spondoolies can turn on a dime and pump out a million miners in a month can they? No they can't and that is where they are scared of their competition.

We're not scared of the competition.

You should be scared of competitors that can easily out produce you.  Use whatever term you like. Cognizant, aware, respectful... I prefer the term scared. Puts the right point on it. Then again I am not privy to your total production output so I could be wrong. It may have been the case last year... maybe it isn't the case now.

Minersource and Technobit tag team consumers for more losses.

Or Dogie gives Techonbit a 10/10 for Ethics and 10/10 for delivery on time. Someone ain't watching the boards are they?

Yeah, I am owed 19 boards.  I received 6 so if anyone wants some just let me know.

And...

Is this company still alive? Sent back 8 boards, they arrived 2 weeks ago, can not get any response from them.
Marto was online yesterday, so he's still around.
Thanks, missed that when I checked a day before his last post. Still not answering support tickets or anything posted here. 8 boards missing, what a joke this whole groupbuy became, people never seeing their hardware, nor their refunds from minersource, and now rma's end up in some void too.

I stayed with BA and my order was never shipped, all these guys are straight up thieves and liars.
654  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [GUIDE] Strato's Antminer S5 Vertical Mounting Setup Guide - OC with Less Heat on: February 05, 2015, 05:56:42 AM
Overclocking voids the warranty? Then why is it a drop down option in the control panel of your software which ships with the units. I'm not trying to start a fight here. But I find that it's ridiculous to put an option to set a frequency higher than 350 with a simple dropdown menu - in your own software - and there be no warning whatsoever - and that BM would deny a warranty claim.

Yes it does. I can't really answer on behalf of the other questions as its not my rules.

I added an overclocking question to the wiki.

Quote
Is overclocking allowed?

Users may overclock at their own risk but overclocking WILL invalidate the product warranty.

This is a more official quote if you will, there is a bigger quote but this is the best one I can find with search as it is.

Over Clocking will void your warranty on the unit, please be careful  Cry

That is your usual waffle! There is NO official literature on overclocking voiding the warranty, and your quotes, wiki additions and public forum quotes by a bitmain employee can not be used as binding statements to bitmain. Like I said, waffle as usual!

Add to that, Strato (or anyone) is not obliged in any way to add a warning to their threads regarding any statement as to OC'ing voiding their warranty, if only because even bitmain themselves do not mention that anywhere authoritatively. You, dogie, are a simple dogs-body for bitmain, toothless dog if you want, as your assertions are not worth the digital ink that they are written in (let alone have the force to void a bitmain warranty)!

PS: And stop being off-topic here, if you are so concerned about the warranty warning, go and open a thread in the scam accusation subforum or press your favourite link to report to the moderator.

My guess he couldn't get the thread moved out of hardware when he reported it as being in the wrong section of the forum and as he is not being paid to promote strato's offering he wants to limit his potential customer base for whatever reason.

On topic:

Interesting idea but really costs would be prohibitive to make this viable for home users. Everything is a loss at this point.
655  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide [17th Dec] on: February 05, 2015, 01:36:08 AM

Here's the deal - neither of you are allowed to post in any of my threads from now on. You are combative, abusive, off topic and contribute nothing to anyone or anything. Do not post again.

Will this be a regular behavior from now on? Just shut up everyone that is pointing out your moves?

"Avalon outsells Spondoolies Tech 50 - 1."  (Who is going to be selling in 2015, 2016 and 2017. I bet you Avalon won't)
"You can't post here." (BFL, Bitmine.ch, Black Arrow and Technobit at their worst covering up their lies and deceit welcome to the club Dogie.)

Same arguments that BFL / Technobit used to combat a flood of posts against their lackluster performance.

Funny how the worm turns.

There is obvious bias in this guide and now with spam posting Bitmain threads that is a complete lack of respect for Bitmain and their efforts to do better. You are dragging them down with you Dogie and that isn't cool. Maybe you need to rethink your "support" for companies at this point given when you comment in threads, you are merely trying to burying other threads in a sea of dogie spam. It is unnecessary and the mods should be reviewing this and warning you. That is the issue.

You bring up 50 to 1. You bring up you can't post here. So this post is FAIR response.

Doesn't anyone else see what Dogie is doing to Bitmain?

I am a representative of Bitmain. Absolutely upgrade to 12/19, it is the most stable of all S3 firmwares and fixes a critical bug.

That is bitmain's flaw to have you as a representative if they actually do. Saying that, I've never seen bitmain refer to you as their representative anywhere.

In any case, you should know that it is adequate to simply update cgminer in the Aug firmware as the reset button (your favourite excuse) works well. Just the stratum bug that was fixed in cgminer 4.6.1 needs to be corrected in the Aug firmware, but you did not even ask the OP to check for cgminer version before suggesting your firmware update (for all we know, his unit may have an updated cgminer from the previous owner!).

EDIT: And why do you insist on posting links to your firmware updates rather than refer people to the bitmain site? Does that link contain your own edited firmware where you've introduced suttle bugs to steal hash-rate or some other sinister stuff under the cover of a bitmain representative?

and

I really don't want to be arguing with you but I have to correct incorrect or misleading statements you make to customers, as you're neither the one who will end up with a bricked unit nor has to help those customers. You seem incessant on going against everything I'm saying - because I'm the one saying it. If you really don't agree with what I'm saying then simply ignore me.
I am not interested in arguig with or shadowing you, but I shall always point out the misleading information you give out under the pretext of being a bitmain representative. And the ball is in your court here, if you do not want to be challenged, stop giving false advice to bitmain customers (of whom I am). And if you do not know the answer, let others who know answer!

Your self-annointed bitmain representative badge neither confers nor imparts any knowledge unto you to shadow any and every comment on a bitmain instigated thread to the extent of you pretending to be an authority on all things bitmain. That much I know from your numerous waffle responses and the patently wrong advice that you keep giving.

EDIT: If bitmain have scrapped a firmware release, why do you keep telling people to install that release? Will you recompense them if their rigs (which may be out of warranty) malfunction? Or will it be a case of you can not help since warranty period has expired? Do you ever give thought to that you twat?

If people want to see less posts here that are negative about Dogie then maybe it is Dogie that needs to rethink what he posts. This is a self inflicted wound that he continually infects with his fecund bump posts and is right that people call out Dogie on this in this thread. This is not a meta issue or spam issue here. We are on topic on this thread and it is more than fair game to ridicule his overt bias and tit for tat bullshit in the forums. The mods need to do more to cull his posts as it now looks he is trying to spread disinformation not only about SPtech but Bitmain as well.

Pardon... Mr. Moderator they are abusive if anyone needs moderation it is you? Maybe you don't like the truth. Start a moderated guide otherwise people are going to freely call out your thread. Censorship isn't free dogie you have to do the work not the mods.

Do you need to file a complaint against Bitmine.ch?

Jail you will go. Let us hope people recoup their investment.

My lawyer told me they probably will go to JAIL ^^ because of tax fraud (Steuerhinterziehung)

They earn bitcoins and sell them and donīt pay any taxes. Thats fraud BIG STYLE friends.

So i made a notification to ESTV (swiss tax agency). -> sd@estv.admin.ch

the MORE PEOPLE tell them that Christian Anselmi and Giorgio Massarotto are tax frauders the FASTER THEY DO GUYS, they will check them ^^

Thank you @Alex27!

I filed a complaint at the email address provided.  I HIGHLY encourage everyone on this forum to do the same.  If they have not paid taxes on their earnings in any currency (cash or bitcoin) this is the probably the best way for us to get the government involved with this fraudulent company.

As if there was any more proof needed - as soon as I posted the above message of thanks on SPTechs thread - this happened:

Look at this, as soon as SPTech get a post, dogie splatters the thread with more poop to promote his employers........ Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Pretty much says it all - what a joke this paid advert "guide" is Roll Eyes

Even Bitmain find it embarrassingly painful:

Hi Pat,

Can't believe he popped out again...

But we have no control over his negative repping people and submitting mod requests.

Tried but unsuccessful for now.  Keep looking into situation.  This will be a long time project.

If it was under Bitmain Account, sure we can delete them but under his personal account, we have no control over.

It is painful watching.  Trust me

Hopefully it won't be too long term......... Cheesy

How sad.

Obviously Mr Dogie doesn't care about ruining the reputation of Bitmaintech.
659  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [GUIDE] B's Moderated Biased & Opinionated Miner Sellers Trustworthiness Guide on: February 04, 2015, 02:46:56 PM
SPTech continues to wow customers with superior customer service.

I could have titled this post or "What Dogie won't show you in his ratings about SPTech."

Just thought I'd drop by to congratulate Spondoolies-Tech on their superb customer support & efficient RMA process - truly excellent!

I lost a loop on one of my SP20E's, & after SPTech logged in remotely they quickly decided to RMA it after confirming the fault. I was sent details & info for shipping the unit back & as soon as I had sent them the tracking number they dispatched a replacement which I received yesterday (after a long & still ongoing argument with DHL - see below). Customer service like this is hard to find in the Bitcoin world & is the reason I will be using SPTech for my future mining hardware needs. Again, a big thank you to all SPTech staff - massive kudos  Grin

DHL - different story  Angry

They're still trying to charge me tax & import duty on the replacement unit, despite me sending them all the required documentation to prove that this was a replacement unit, the entire email conversation with SPTech & after SPTech kindly wrote to them to confirm what I had already explained to them on multiple occasions via email & phone conversations. Good luck with that DHL  Roll Eyes

Peace  Smiley

Edit: I don't see the 2.6.9 or 2.6.10 firmware mentioned above on the manual upgrade button - has it been removed?
660  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Philipma1957's attempt to rate current Manufacturers of Asic . Results in. on: February 04, 2015, 10:50:11 AM
actually we don't need any more gear at the moment.  we need btc price to rise.

1. Price rises to make mining profitable... larger farms stay online and ramp up with more efficient units.
2. Prices of miners will never be low enough for a home miner to compete.
3. Race to ZERO $$$ electrical cost is where you will make headway in this commercial mining race now.

@huff... you are so correct sir!

SPTech has been cleaning the floor with the competition on a number of areas I would really love to see their commercial customer list with how many units have been sold. I am pretty sure that be impressive.
