701  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: August 18, 2014, 11:01:57 PM
Anyone got their payments yet???

No. I haven't seen anyone yet.  I read 12 hours yesterday and then 48 hours to see it in your account so I guess that would mean tomorrow we should see it.

But this is my first time getting paid so maybe some regulars can clarify how long it usually takes to see the BTC in your wallet.

Cheers!

Give it some time, Stunna is verifying all posts. Anywhere between 19 and 23 should be payment  Smiley
702  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why is people against military actions against ISIS/IS? on: August 16, 2014, 10:02:52 PM
Since the US requested assistance from Denmark by asking for a C-130 to drop Aid for the refugees in northen Iraq, a lot of danes are screaming to the government not to send f-16 fighter jets to the region to protect civilians and to bomb strategic important areas for ISIS/IS.

And other countries must have gotten the same request from the US.

I personally think that we (Denmark) Should send 6 F-16 fighters to help. 4 for missions and 2 backups.

What do you think about military actions in northen Iraq?

I think it's because of the double agenda our government has. One the one hand we stimulate Al Quadia in Syria, on the other it fights extremist in Iraq. In addition, when bombs fall a lot of innocent people die - I think they prefer troops.
703  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is US Citizenship is a Curse or a Blessing? on: August 16, 2014, 08:24:06 PM
It just came upon me that US Citizenship is more a curse not a Blessing.
Cons:
US has highest healthcare costs in the 1st world
US has highest gini coefficient in the 1st world
US has worst privacy laws in the 1st world
US spends 687.3 billion on military spending, which doesn't create capital or useless capital(war devices)
Pros:
No Value Added Tax
Significantly lower Income tax
Best Colleges in the world(if your privileged)
California (although I've heard Chile is a great alternative)

Anything else to rant about? Add more!

It can be very good or very bad, depending on your situation. But everyone privacy here gets invaded. You have more freedom in the former soviet states now than in the US. In terms of comfort, many of us live comfortable. It's better to live here than say Somalia, but you can live comfortable or freely in other places too.
704  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what happend with bitcoin price?! on: August 16, 2014, 11:41:24 AM
Just like with any stock or market. Some big selling and people have mini panics and sell then more get worried and sell and the next thing you know its $510 people will start buying back in. I am making sure the prices stay stable before buying more just in case it drops into the $400's

hi there..jus wondering..do u think it'll drop to  the $400's? i'm new to btc and am trying to work out when is best time to buy..thanks

I don't.
But if you have some USD on an exchange, it is not a bad idea to make some a buy order at $400.
You may be able to get yourself some cheap coins while sleeping. Smiley
499$ now, if it goes to $400. You could make 0.2 BTC that way, but it's still gambling.. you may also lose 0.2  Smiley
705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin sites leaked :( - Big bitcoin members emails database on: August 16, 2014, 10:22:50 AM
Thats really bad news.

Dont you think the passwords can be cracked
Yes, a lot of MD5 hashes are found.  The idea of MD5 is like a formula, it's easy calculate the output, but hard to calculate the input from the output. But.. people have created entire bi-directional databases of MD5 hashes, pairs of (password, hash) so its' easy to look up. These are known as rainbow tables and some are larger than 15 billion entries. If you have a totally unique and long password, you may be safe from it, but it's better to assume you are not.

706  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-16] Check Out How Many Overstock Sales Are Done Using Bitcoin on: August 16, 2014, 10:13:38 AM
I keep seeing this quote:
"Bitcoin sales on Overstock have averaged $15,000 per day, or $300,000 per month. "

Why does Overstock's month only have 20 days?
Is the Internet closed on weekends?

I think it has been an error by the writer, it's quite a lot of money that was left out of the calculation  Cheesy
There are a lot of Bitcoin sales on overstock, I wonder how large the bitcoin economy is at present
707  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Using dice sites, exchanges, etc. to mix coins? on: August 16, 2014, 10:07:05 AM
Is it a good idea to use dice sites and exchanges to mix coins? I know there are legit bitcoin mixers out there but shouldn't depositing bitcoins in a dice site or an exchange and withdrawing them minutes later accomplish the same thing? I know that the bitcoins you get back from an exchange are not the same as the ones you put in, and I also know that exchanges pool their users' funds and keep both hot and cold wallets.
I think it's a good idea but keep in mind your browser has a unique fingerprint based on ip-address, resolution, cookies etc..
In many cases there is also tracking spyware in websites, like Google Analytics, which may have a good software but for anonymity of the users it's not so good, so you have to block all trackers. If you can have the most common fingerprint and a unique ip then you can use it to mix.

709  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How anonymous is the Skyhook Bitcoin ATM on: August 15, 2014, 06:41:20 PM
I was looking into buying one but I wanna know how anonymous it is? I know bitcoins are anonymous obviously but let's say I buy one correct. Then from there I put in a secure area where I know others will use it. How secure will it be and anonymous? Just out of curiosity. Thanks

You can buy them, and send them to other addresses you own. For example, send it around 100 times. Nobody will know its you.
Addresses can be anonymous - it depends what you do with them.
710  Economy / Services / Re: Design your faucet for just 0.02 BTC on: August 15, 2014, 12:54:17 PM
Its right on their website mate. The moment you open microwallet mainpage you will see the notice.
Where do you see it? on microwallet.org I do not see any news of closing
711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin sites leaked :( - Big bitcoin members emails database on: August 15, 2014, 10:44:24 AM
I've just checked other 3 files they are offering for free and all paswords are hashed in databases. No need to worry at all if your password is long enough.
Which hashing algorithm is used? MD5?
712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the top places of Bitcoin discussion ? on: August 15, 2014, 10:39:23 AM
I would like to list out the top places of Bitcoin discussion where Big Brothers discuss their business and communicate with customers. I'm listing here what I know. If u know more, please add below, let us know which one is your best choice and why ?

1. https://bitcointalk.org

2. http://www.reddit.com/r/bitcoin

3. https://webchat.freenode.net/ #bitcoin

4. https://bitcoinfoundation.org/forum/

I like bitcointalk.org the best because there is such a huge database of questions and answers, and the community is really big.
It is the largest community. I also like forums over irc, because you can look for any topic at any time.

I have found some small forums on the web, but nothing like bitcointalk.

713  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can be use by future Mars Inhabitants? on: August 15, 2014, 10:32:51 AM
You guys forget that when Mars gets colonized Bitcoin and all it's technology is prehistoric.

I guess it's possible but really I think it's unlikely.

Consider that SpaceX was created for the sole purpose of reaching mars so that Elon Musk could be buried there. Reaching mars is the first step in colonizing it, and if any company would ever do something like that - it would certainly be SpaceX.  Along with that, it would be fairly quick since they are working at a rapid pace towards space domination.

However, even if it takes 200 years to reach space - we will just more likely be using Bitcoin as our main currency by that point.  USD has been used for close to 200 years now, as well as other world currencies, so I think it's still possible and even likely we would be using Bitcoin.

It may even be a vastly improved version of bitcoin, but since Bitcoin is a software and not a physical item, it can become something entirely different but we can still call it Bitcoin, and it will still be Bitcoin.

#ToTheMars!

There will be digital currency in an planetary financial system. Most of the goods, if not all, would be digital. But, given that we have 3d printers now they could easily be physical.  There is still the question as to the speed - for all currencies. Maybe 22 light minutes is not a big problem or by then there is a trick to speed it up.
714  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Advanced Tor Browser Bundle config. - Anti-Spying - Anti-ECHELON - Anti-FiveEyes on: August 15, 2014, 09:36:43 AM
Is Tor still considered a secure way to surf anonymously?

Heard plenty of story of people getting arrested even when using it.

Tor can help to protect against traffic analysis and provides improved anonymity and privacy when browsing on the internet.

No one should ever consider using Tor or the wider internet for any type of 'illegal' or malicious activity.

- "Tor can't help you if you use it wrong!"

Never confuse your 'Right to Privacy' with anything else.

I considered it my right to consume and buy weed online, which doesn't harm anyone other than the tobacco industry.
In my opinion weed should be legal all across the globe. Other drugs are legal and kill way more people. They'll send 18 year olds on suicide missions which benefit only the industry, but can't smoke some greens?  Huh  Cheesy  Besides, even our president smoked it.
715  Other / Politics & Society / Re: greatest speech i heard in a long time on: August 15, 2014, 09:21:20 AM
Just another conspiracy theory.

In truth, no one is in control of the system. The ruling elite fear the mob as much as you fear the criminal.

In addition they have some other fears. The top rich have always been afraid of things like socialism. Did you see how fast the occupy movement was crushed? It even weren't many people..
716  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do girls use Bitcoin ? on: August 15, 2014, 09:18:10 AM
I did remember seeing lots of tips in crypto going around on reddit for boob showing etc.

So, this guy is not in jail yet.

Is there any penalty going to be apply to him?
Last thing I saw, he is living in an expensive apartment in Japan. I do not think he will go to jail, probably he has some protection by the Japanese government - as clearly he should have a trial.

Electrum at the moment

Bitcoin.de are on him pack. That sucks.

Are we need to always make new password? Smiley

Yes, because in most cases today passwords are not hashed in the database. Companies do not take security seriously - that's why hacking pays off.
720  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Rand Paul: We Must Demilitarize the Police on: August 14, 2014, 06:59:30 PM
Look at the weapons.. dear mother of god when the USD collapses..... We are so screwed...  Perhaps I really should move to New Zeland.

If you look only at the image, you would think it is the military. But of course, "police" is written on the signs.
When USD collapses, we are very screwed - unfortunately there do not seem to be plans from the government, perhaps the plan is world war 3.  Huh
