761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [GOOD VIBES] Antpool Mining Refunded Overpaid Fees on: December 13, 2023, 10:52:47 AM
yes if good antpool offered.. so good vibe, old news..
many topics talk about antpools offer many days ago

but the address that spent the 83btc was a hackers address where he then tried to act like someone(voitelgluk) that obtained that addresses wallet from another hacker and was advertising that he can sign it.. (trying to sell the wallet address to someone else for 10% of the 83btc) thus a double hack/scam

the victim didnt own the address that spent 83btc in fee's.. the victim was a few taints before that spend

the victim(s) were 2 wallets/addresses
one with bc1q8qz322m5gu4faemeumzkxeqhd4r4439y42ps3r   99.24875663 BTC ( 3,847,366.97 USD )
one with bc1qd6nn3734nkxlktseawn27xp2cw4ruy2ecz9hk9   40.17625999 BTC ( 1,557,428.23 USD )

a hacker moved the funds to:
bc1qn3d7vyks0k3fx38xkxazpep8830ttmydwekrnl
and then hacker did child-pays-for-parent in the same block. to spend 83btc fee of the 139btc to get 56btc in the hackers next wallet

the hacker then sold/gave the now empty wallet seed of 'bc1qn3d7vy..' to someone else(op) or the OP is the hacker

the address
bc1qn3d7vyks0k3fx38xkxazpep8830ttmydwekrnl
is not an address of the victim.. its the hackers wallet

the hacker . now trying to get 10% of 83btc by trying to sell the seed to someone who wants to claim antpools 83btc offer
good afternoon everyone. I did some research, as a result of which I received the seed phrase of the wallet from which 139 BTC were stolen. I have evidence that this seed phrase was not generated by chance. if the owner did not create it himself, and this seed phrase was generated for him by some wallet, then I can provide evidence of non-random generation, as a result of which the owner will be able to go to court and recover lost funds from the creators of the wallet. In return I ask for a reward of 10%. I ask the owner of the lost funds to contact me. telegram @Crypto_Validator https://i.postimg.cc/5yy2yzWw/139btc.jpg]

OMG what a cluster 4uck that was, so it did end up being a scam related transaction.

I didnt see the other threads about this and I did actually search for that news.

This isn't a good vibe, it's ultimately harmful precedence for Bitcoin mining.  The pool operator is a custodian whose job is to distribute the block rewards to the workers, if I was mining with Antpool or F2pool, I would be furious that the earnings I worked for were given to someone else.

and if you were sending Bitcoin to a different address legitimately with extraordinary
high fees as a mistake and the mining pool didnt flag it as being abnormal would you be
furious then?

What happened last night is a disgrace.
There is nothing to say, even if the referees made right or wrong decisions, you can't do that.
They destroyed the reputation of our country.
The punishment should be severe but there will be no punishment because there is no justice in the country.

Yes a pure disgrace, unbelievable actually its something that I kind of expected, there
is so much emphasis put on respect in the game, it just goes to show there is no respect.

I stopped watching football a few years ago, too much negativity, for me it outweighs
the beautiful moments in the sport.

You are probably right about there being no punishment...

I wasnt aware of this event, isnt this the first year its been played?

The players who attended was a small group with Taylor Fritz being the highest ranked
player at #10.

The 2023 tournament in Macau will feature four ATP and two WTA players including Taylor Fritz, Wang Xinyu, Daria Kasatkina, Tallon Griekspoor, Borna Coric, and Zhang Zhizhen.

Wang Xinyu
Borna Coric
Daria Kasatkina
Tallon Griekspoor
Taylor Fritz
Zhang Zhizhen
Belinda Bencic, Emma Raducanu, and Frances Tiafoe were due to play in the event but they had to withdraw due to injuries.

On the womens side there was nobody from at least the tip 10 but I guess if this
is the first year of that event it can get better in the future.

Its interesting that Raducanu was due to attend but had to cancel due to injury.
765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union / League / Super / Sixes Sevens Pro14 / Cups & Tours / Olympics on: December 12, 2023, 07:45:48 AM
Australia certainly have had mixed fortunes with the Women's soccer team reaching fourth place at the recent World Cup and the Women's Rugby team winning again.

The Australian men's team on the other hand both internationally and in the Pacifica comp have struggled to win their away games. There needs to be something of a "back to basics" change of mentally.

In the 7's I think Australia could be in a few finals but what I am gathering from this competition
is that almost everyone is capable of beating each other.

The top team New Zealand got beaten in the QF #2 by Ireland who got beaten in last
rounds QF#2 by Fiji who didnt even make it to the knockouts this week.

Similarly South Africa in QF #3 got hammered by Australia 28 - 0 but last week beat
Australia in QF #1 28 - 7 and went on to win the trophy.

Thats just the knockout phase example in the mens side. Then in the pool stages its
really hard to predict a match winner.

The only consistent team over the two rounds is Argentina IMO.

I have to see if my synopsis on the mens game correlates to the womens side.

767  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / [GOOD VIBES] Antpool Mining Refunded Overpaid Fees on: December 11, 2023, 08:25:33 PM
Just happened across this article about Antpool offering to refund someone their over paid transaction
fees of $3,000,000.

https://unchainedcrypto.com/bitcoin-mining-firm-antpool-offers-refund-for-3-million-record-transfer-fee/

Quote
On Nov. 23, a Bitcoin wallet address attempted to transfer 139.42 BTC to another address, but ended
up spending 83.7 BTC on transaction fees, which was captured by Antpool on block 818087.

From the article its clear that the mining pool was able to automatically freeze the transaction, this is a
good news story, any abnormal transactions like this one are able to be flagged, massively ver bought fees
are able to be refunded and it proves that Antpool are not scammers, they appear to be doing the right thing,
This creates a good vibe and says a lot for the Bitcoin community in general.

Thought I would post here to share with everyone rather than the Mining Board.

The user had until yesterday to confirm "their identity"

Quote
The team behind the mining pool asked the user to verify his or her personal identity either by preparing Electrum
or Bitcoin Core signing tool, rousing the private keys of the address associated with the transaction to sign the message “AntPool.”
The user will have until Dec. 10 to prove their identity.

768  Other / Meta / Re: Was the forum better before without Merit or is it better now with Merit? on: December 11, 2023, 07:28:53 PM
IMO there is still the same amount of posts which are not needed,
<cut>

I'm not so sure I agree with that. Take a look at this graph. The raw number of posts per month has dropped dramatically from over 1.5 million in 2017 to around 300 thousand (in December 2022, according to ninjastic.space). So, I would say that the merit system probably contributed a lot in that regard.

Thats interesting for sure and is a perfect example actually of a change in general member/spam behavour,
I had to examine that graph again to figure it out.

There are still going to be people who are better than others and who are able to rank up quicker, that
was the case prior to the Merit system too.

I don't think that's true either. Before the merit system, everyone could rank up on the forum at the same pace, as all that was required was activity and time. No one was able to rank up faster than any other member sharing the same activity.

Thats actually very true, all things being equal time spent on the forum and post count the "rising
tide was floating all boats"

These points have changed my opinion on the thread title, I guess I was focussing too much on what I would deem
as low quality posts and useless threads.
769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Sanction On Mixers Would Make This Forum Boring on: December 10, 2023, 08:51:13 PM
The forum was never reliant on Mixers to exist, The influx in mixer advertisement on the forum
only started when Chipmixer went down which left a void which in turn was filled by numerous
other mixer services. The forum isnt going to die a death because there wont bbe any more
banner ads.

There will still be discussion about those services and I doubt there will be many people leaving
the forum because there are no visible advertisements from mixing services.
770  Other / Meta / Re: Was the forum better before without Merit or is it better now with Merit? on: December 10, 2023, 08:27:05 PM
I dont think the forum has either benefited or suffered from the Merit system, I voted "No Difference"

IMO there is still the same amount of posts which are not needed, its mostly by low ranked members
who are trying to write posts primarily to get Merits, to rank up and get into a signature campaign, but
there is a finite amount of campaign positions anyway.

For me what the Merit system has done is put a -visual number- on everyones technical ability, Bitcoin
Knowledge and communication skills. Its a measure now of generally "how good you are" and its easier
now for the campaign managers to filter the applicants to their campaigns

There are still going to be people who are better than others and who are able to rank up quicker, that
was the case prior to the Merit system too.
771  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will we see repeat of 2017 or new trend? on: December 10, 2023, 07:19:12 PM
No we wont see a repeat of December 2017.

We are currently PRE HALVING so we are in a bull run, back in December 2017 it was 18
months AFTER the July 2016 halving so the timing was for Bear season in Bitcoins 4
year halving cycle..

If you look at the 3 previous halvings, at least 6 months before the event we enter the
bull phase, and from approximately 12 months after we enter the bear season.

It might be the same month but its a different year and a different time in Bitcoins 4 year cycle.

Rugby 7's Round 2 - Cape Town

Mens

Argentina take the title beating Australia 45 -12

South Africa and New Zealand only made the QF's.

Some of my predictions didnt happen eventhough they were favourites. In the first
match Samoa lost to Australia and surprisingly the second match was a bit of
a shocker, Canada whipped NZ 7 - 19.

I didn't get to follow up on the rest of the pool matches but suffice to say it was somewhat
different to lat week...with the exception of Argentina who got to the final again.

Womens

All the first games in the pool predictions went according to plan except that Canada
beat USA which was a dodgy one to bet on.

It was an Australia France final with Australia winning, Thats 2 in a row for Australia!

773  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Work & work & work until you begin to break, is there no way out? on: December 09, 2023, 07:39:47 PM
When you’re caught in the day to day grind it can feel like you’re trapped or even enslaved. I think the way out is to save money and then start a business doing something you love. Then work won’t feel like a trap. Instead it will feel like you’re doing what you love to do with your life. It can be hard and not everyone will make it, but maybe you owe it to yourself to try.

Personally I have made a few moves to get out of the "rat race". I dont have ant FIAT
loans, credit cards or mortgages, I have a part time job and the rest of the time is
for myself. I did this approximately 3 months ago and reaping the rewards of it now.

In my country so many people are using Cocaine to be able to function at work,
its gotten to the stage where parents of young children are finding they need to
use in order to deal with the pressures of work, parenting, socialising and all the
pressures of keeping up appearances.
774  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: December 09, 2023, 09:03:40 AM
Thats the thing so many people have been talking about and what will be missing with
the new crop of players who will take over from the top 3, there have been countless close
battles between Roger, Rafa and Djokovic and Andy to an extent.

Maybe there will be 4 players who dominate the game for the next 10 to 15 years....

Alcaraz, Sinner, Rune and Medvedev? who knows.

The Capetown sevens have just been loaded, so I'm going with New Zealand, Samoa, Argentina, Fiji, Ireland and South Africa in the men's tournament.

In the Women's match ups, I'll go with the favourites, Ireland, New Zealand, Fiji, Canada and France (betting on the Australia Vs Spain match is suspended (unless if course you want to bet on Spain at $101.00)

Yea just looking at the odds on ROLLBIT for the line up's for the first matches now,
ATM its just the first round of matches I can see odds on.

Mens

Samoa v Australia - Samoa are favourite @ 1.81 against 2.24 for Australia, thats very close odds really,
They only won 1 game each in the pool stages, hard to bet on these two.

New Zealand v Canada - yea well we know what way that is going

Argentina v Spain - same as above - Argentina @ 1.04

Fiji v France - Same as above - Fiji @ 1.25

Ireland v USA - Ireland were good last weekend winning 2 games and making it into the knockouts, favourites
tomorrow @ 1.42 - not bad odds.

South Africa v Great Britain - SA favourites @ 1.04

Womens

Ireland v Brazil - Ireland favourites @ 1.10 - should be winning that

New Zealand v Great Britain - has to be NZ @ 1.02

Australia v Spain - Spain are 28.0! [not going to happen]

Fiji v Japan - Like the mens side the monens side are very strong anf favourites @ 1.1

Canada v USA - the odds suggest this will be close, its 1.83 v 2.18 - wont be betting on that

France v South Africa - France @ 1.09 - SA didnt win any of the pool matches last week, Strange
how the mens side are so competitive and the Womens not [so far]

777  Other / Meta / Re: cryptofrka's Merit Source application - gambling boards on: December 08, 2023, 09:55:05 AM
I support this application, a second one I have seen recently and both users I know well from gambling sub.

There's certainly truth, from my anecdotal experience,  that merit is gained most outside gambling (and alts). While I believe I gain merits there now, the majority of my earlier gains, to make legendary anyway, were from Bitcoin-only sections.

I feel that is a good reflection of previous requirements for quality contributions to promoting and assisting, elevating Bitcoin use.

But as OP points out, gambling continues to be a major utility area for Bitcoin. Even beyond the use of it as a currency, gamblers using and transacting in Bitcoin lead to discussions about its technical aspects. Fee specifications, coin control, even signing of txs. I am certain it has become a perpetual gateway for new Bitcoin users.

OP knows gambling and the activities related, he would make a solid merit source in that board, in my opinion.

I agree with this synopsis.

I havent given the matter of Merit in relation to the Gambling board any thought before and there actually
isnt very much Merit awarded in the Gambling threads I frequent. I suppose its probably because its a very
busy board which inevitably means there is a lot of nonsense posted, I guess I subconsciously thought in general
the Gambling board was not worthy of merit.

Hopefully if cryptofrka gets approved and there is a Merit stream on the board it will prompt people to
post at a higher quality therefore I back cryptofrka's applicationFWIW
778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union / League / Super / Sixes Sevens Pro14 / Cups & Tours / Olympics on: December 08, 2023, 08:26:32 AM
The only bet I've been able to place is on Edinburgh ($4.50) Vs Clermont. Not sure if the other games haven't been loaded. I'll check tonight when I get home.

In the sixes, I've gone France, England and Wales.

For the Six Nations next year I will agree with 1 out of the 3, I'll probably go with Ireland over France,
and Scotland over Wales so 3 away wins, Ireland, England and Scotland.

Ireland will be a different team without Johnny Sexton and France could very well be a full strength outfit.

Based on where Wales were at last year winning only 1 match and that Scotland finished in 3rd spot I
think the 2024 season could be a reoccurance of sorts. in the URC the two scottish teams are in the
top half of the table while the 3 Welsh are in the bottom half with 7 rounds played.
779  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jamie Dimon said he would close Bitcoin down if he was in government on: December 07, 2023, 02:12:05 PM
Since 2018, he has been talking like this with Bitcoin and isn't it clear that he's got into something? He's buying for sure at the dips and people don't realize that. Didn't he launched his JPMorgan coin or something like that? Anyway, I've made a thread on 2018 about him calling all of his bias against Bitcoin through this thread:

I'll quote it all for you.

I'll summary the sequence;
1. Called bitcoin a fraud.
2. Bought at dip
3. Regret calling bitcoin a fraud.
4. Overcharged cryptocurrency purchases.

The lesson here for those who are keep on spreading FUD in the forum about negative news. Try to learn and understand this technique made by Jamie Dimon. (Chairman and CEO of JPMorgan)

By the way, I've just seen this news 3 hours ago.

Crypto is for criminals? JPMorgan has been fined $39B and has its own token

I did a thread on him back in 2021 too > Jamie Dimon & Tulip Bulbs

...anyway this is just more hot air from Dimon and its clear he says one thing and does another.

The worlds largest asset management company Blackrock and their clients obviously
dont see Bitcoin the way he says he sees it.

Surely he isnt that naive in thinking Bitcoin can just be "shut down" or is he just pandering
to his audience who expect this negativity and skepticism.
