781  Economy / Collectibles / Re: MrHodLClub - CHECK YOUR FUNDING! on: February 28, 2024, 08:48:02 PM
The pride of workmanship and accomplishment of even bringing items to market is what I have faith in.  I’ve seen some amazing work on individual undertakings and always been impressed. (Even Titan)
To me , to create works of art that you’re immensely proud of and then rob people doesn’t comport.  I just don’t believe a fraudster would have meticulous attention to detail concerning AESTHETICS to steal later.  It would be a project that you’d want to do perfect.

I suggest you do some research on one of the earlier makers "Coinograpghic"
They made some nice coins with nice presentation.... and then BAM, funds stolen off most of the coins

I also thought that Gravitate made some nice coins that I personally was a fan of the design (which led to insane claims that we were the same person).  I even wanted to copy one of his designs and got permission from him but never went through with it.  Anyway, his coins turned out to be scams too I believe, so you definitely can't have faith that these types of people genuinely care about their products and customers.  Some people just scam.  That doesn't mean that makers can't be given the benefit of the doubt at times, but it does mean that buyers always need to beware.  Especially when it comes to loaded coins being offered by people who don't value their reputation.  When it comes to coin makers, I personally think you want one that will go to extreme (even psycho) levels to protect their reputation.  That shows they truly care about their reputation and it means something to them.  Some of the makers I'm seeing today are selling coins in advance that they run out of money to produce, then release other products to try and raise money to get their other products made...  I don't want to mention names, but at least one of these established and still respected makers have turned their operation into a ponzi scheme just by trying to stay afloat.  MrHodLClub is far from the only offender.  Be safe out there folks.
782  Economy / Speculation / Re: Something is seriously wrong with bitcoin markets. No liquidity? Should we sell? on: February 28, 2024, 08:40:06 PM
I wouldn't sell because there's no liquidity.  Why make Wall Street's job easier to steal everyone's coins and destroy Bitcoin as something that is usable by it's longtime supporters?  I say we all not only hold the line and not sell our crypto, I think people should continue buying.  Really stick it to these fund managers.  Make them pay $100,000+ to get their hands on our coins.  Don't give up your future gains and help put a lid on the market by providing sell liquidity just so you get less $ for your coins...  Now is the time to really punish Wall Street.  Make them bid the price up to a million per coin if they have to in order to run their ETFs.

Celtics has been looking like a team on a mission. I feel like if they keep this up, there isn't really any team that can stand on their way. Jokic or not, western conference do not look like they have anyone that can rival them.

Celtics and mainly Tatum trying to get that one ring finally so they can relax, look at Bucks, they did get the ring and now they are not caring about it all that much, even with Dame joining their team, they are just having that relief, Dame probably wants it more than anyone else, whereas Celtics never got one, and they are a very great team historically, so Tatum wants to win one for the team as well, they are so close, and they may get it this time around, otherwise nobody knows when is the next chance.

What's insane though is that Jayson Tatum's name is not even mentioned as a MVP, he is just outside the top 5 if I'm not mistaken. So that also baffles me, they have Jokic, Luka, SGA, Embiid and Giannis.

And how many games that they are ahead? 7.5 games. Tatum knows this, media knows this, but they don't like Tatum and he knows that. So him and the Celtics should really be go and win their first NBA ring with Tatum leading them and rub it in to their detractors.

The Celtics are good no doubt, but I don't think Tatum is an MVP caliber player.  He's definitely nowhere near the best player in the NBA like he thinks.  He's been known to disappear in big games and none of his stats are better than the other guys being mentioned for MVP.  In my opinion, Jayson Tatum is a great player, an all star even.  I wouldn't start him in the all star game though, wouldn't consider him a first team all nba player and definitely wouldn't give him the MVP over guys like Luka Doncic, Jokic, or Giannis.  I do think he's a better player than SGA though...
784  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 28, 2024, 08:31:30 PM
Looks like we're seeing some profit taking as Bitcoin's recent rally melted the faces off folks.  I'm guessing this is going to be a massive bear trap.  Judging from the volumes it does appear like someone is selling heavily into buy walls.  This to me is a sign that traders are selling their positions and maybe even shorting into buy walls to try and knock the price down.  This is a dangerous game when Bitcoin is in rally mode.  I suspect it won't last long and the market will punish anyone dumb enough to take on short positions trying to cause a cascading fall in price.  We've entered the battleground...

786  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 28, 2024, 03:27:42 PM
I feel like price discovery will be upon us before you know it… Wall Street has gotten a taste of Bitcoin and they like it. New high by the end of the week? $100K by April 20th? It all sounds incredibly crazy but it is now on the table. This is the excitement we hold for. Congrats to everyone who refused to sell!
787  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did people buy bitcoin before Mt. Gox? on: February 28, 2024, 03:18:05 PM
People used IRC to chat and trade Bitcoin before mtgox. You can take a look at the experience here: https://bitcoin-otc.com/trust.php

It is also where the Bitcoin web of trust started, which was like the original version of the trust network here. People would post what they had for sale and others would contact them to buy. Pretty simple but it worked.

Have you seen Josh Hart's bloodied nose after getting hit by Zion? Watch it here if you haven't seen it https://www.youtube.com/shorts/YiH7TP7hGxA

They guy was understandably mad at the ref when no foul was called. Nobody wants to be at the receiving end of that but it's clear that Zion got the ball first and then hit his face.

Zion is a monster. You definitely don’t want to get hit by him. He’s playing again tonight on ESPN against the Pacers. The later game will also be a good one to watch. The battle of Los Angeles as the Clippers take on the Lakers. Hopefully we’ll get a look at a lot of superstars on national television tonight.
789  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 28, 2024, 01:34:11 PM
C’mon Buddy… Post that $60K goodness we all want to see.

It’s happening so much faster than I expected. Will it be different this time? Will we see the cycle peak in 2024 instead of 2025? I am almost afraid of where the price is headed if we resume historical patterns.
790  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 28, 2024, 12:43:27 PM
Waking up at night to take a piss

3 choppers passed

And no I’m not dreaming

Lol Cheesy damn! that feeling,  it's feels goooooooooood...
Bitcoin hitting the price range of $59k, next  $60k 😊🚀

lol, very very very very very very good!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I’m finding it difficult to sleep in as well. This is all too exciting. I’m a little worried if this rally continues for another year+ like history would suggest, I’ll be suffering from a severe lack of sleep. I guess we all have our own cross to bear… Feels a lot like we’ll be testing $60K before the week is over.
791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 28, 2024, 06:01:35 AM
The Pistons managed to get themselves another win tonight against the Chicago Bulls. I believe that puts them at 9 wins on the season now. Still not great, but they’ve seen some improvement over the last couple of months. Looks like they are about to get themselves into double digit win territory, which is impressive given their start.
792  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: February 27, 2024, 08:55:59 PM
Here's my pick for today.  Not the greatest odds so I wouldn't follow it if I were you, but I needed to get a multi-game parlay after hitting a few losses in a row.  No games that excite me today with plenty of mismatches to be disappointed with.

Washington Wizards - Golden State Warriors
Winner (Incl. Overtime)
Golden State Warriors

Milwaukee Bucks - Charlotte Hornets
Winner (Incl. Overtime)
Milwaukee Bucks

Chicago Bulls - Detroit Pistons
Winner (Incl. Overtime)
Chicago Bulls

Minnesota Timberwolves - San Antonio Spurs
Winner (Incl. Overtime)
Minnesota Timberwolves

Oklahoma City Thunder - Houston Rockets

793  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: February 27, 2024, 08:51:35 PM
I saw an interview with Ryan Garcia today where he was saying he wants to fight Suga Sean O'Malley.  He claims he'd easily knock him out in boxing (maybe true) and wants to challenge himself by fighting Suga Sean in MMA.  I think this must just be some sort of a PR move to try and build up some hype around his next fight or something.  I don't think there's a chance in hell that Ryan Garcia could knock out Suga Sean in the octagon, but I'd sure like to see him try.  This is the sort of crossover fight the sports need.
794  Economy / Speculation / Re: New All Time High Baby! - $68,742.31 on: February 27, 2024, 08:40:56 PM
Quite funny reading this thread back and remembering all the certainty 4 years ago that we were "certainly going to $100k" or "$150k" or even "$450k" and now those same suggestions are starting again. I think we might see $100k of thereabouts this cycle but I'll be utterly amazed if we see much more.

In everyone’s defense, I believe that the market would have hit those price targets had it not been for FTX pulling a massive fraud that limited the upside of BTC while artificially inflating alts, thereby directing new money to those alts and further reducing Bitcoin’s price increase. If there’s no funny business this time, I could see BTC even surpassing $200K… I’d probably become a seller around $135K though.

Well, I should be delighted if it did, but i don't see it.  Its very easy to look back and rationalise what did happen but not so easy to look forward and predict what will happen.

Obviously the ETFs are a bit of a game changer but they aren't going to be driving massive inflows indefinitely, they will stabilise in due course. I stand by my prediction of a cycle high somewhere around $100k on the lowside and $130k on the optimistic side.

I don’t view it as rationalizing what happened. I’m just explaining to you what happened. There are legitimate reasons the rally was cut short last cycle. It isn’t a myth or hypothesis. It is what actually happened. Without financial fraud at a level most can’t comprehend, Bitcoin would have certainly gone much higher. If it doesn’t hit a new all time high this cycle, it will no doubt have another black swan event that is responsible. FTX caused a lot of damage.
795  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Coping with expectations on: February 27, 2024, 08:16:51 PM
They say that expectation is the seed of disappointment. That’s why you really shouldn’t expect anything from anyone. You’ll be better off if you always prepare for the worst so you can handle anything. Like the old saying goes… The bird on a branch doesn’t trust the tree branch won’t break, it trusts that it’s wings will keep it from hitting the ground.
796  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul VS Ryan Bourland Cruiserweight 8 Rounds March 2 on: February 27, 2024, 08:15:11 PM
This is a fight that seemingly nobody cares about. I’ve only seen one ad for it on social media since it was announced and the big news today is that Jake Paul and KSI will supposedly be the next fight. Seems a bit odd to be promoting the next fight the week before his current one. I guess they aren’t expecting much from this weekend.
797  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 27, 2024, 01:08:58 PM
Rough night for Haliburton on the Pacers. He shot 2/11 from the field on his way to a 9 point night in the loss against the Raptors. Social media is cooking him for some reason like this game means he fell off. It’s something to keep an eye on, but he’s a 20 year old kid so I think he’ll right the ship in no time.
798  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 27, 2024, 12:47:01 PM
I’m picturing fund managers scrambling to find BTC to buy without sending the market stratospheric. Today could get interesting. I wonder if the performance of the different ETFs will start varying based on the methods and timing they use to acquire new BTC. I’d imagine they’re all paying different prices daily with the current variance in BTC prices from one hour to the next.
799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it ethical to break your gambling rules on: February 27, 2024, 12:44:27 PM
I don’t know about the ethics involved but I assume if you created some gambling rules it must have been for a reason. Maybe it was to keep you from spending too much or to help keep a bad habit in check. Either way, it doesn’t seem like a good idea to go against any plan you have devised for yourself, gambling or otherwise.
800  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: February 27, 2024, 12:42:17 PM
What seemed to be a crazy statement a month ago is becoming reality. Suddenly $100,000 doesn’t seem so far away. When I started this challenge I had my doubts and hoped to get at least 30 days in. Now Bitcoin’s price itself is keeping me motivated to continue this challenge in hopes to successfully complete it.
