841  Economy / Economics / Re: How do banks generate income? on: May 16, 2023, 03:10:27 PM
That's why I don't use bank, even in the future. Banks are lowkey milking their customers by sugarcoated words that they are going to make their money "safe" and by giving them "profits". Bank is the only one who does gets benefits from all their users, so I don't even see myself letting them handle my funds.

I'd rather invest it in Bitcoin and let it sleep while waiting for another All Time High. It's much more profitable and convenient for me.
842  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving one third what you earn monthly is not that hard, isn't it ? on: May 16, 2023, 02:14:25 PM
Saving is part of my life and I have never seen it as an impossible task that needs to be done with efforts.
It should be good for you if you have multiple sources of income, but I don't know if you need to maintain a percentage of that amount each month. Even if saving is recommended, but I don't think it's necessary to have a special percentage in doing so and just do how many you can save.

If you insist on saving a certain amount each month then you may run into problems when your source of income dries up for one reason or another. This will definitely give you a lot of responsibility so that you can or should reduce your daily and monthly needs to get the percentage that you set. You can do it, but your method cannot adopted for other users.

If you really wanted to save money from any amount of salary, do it after you budget your salary, always prioritize the budget for rent, food, water, electricity, etc. and the amount of money that's gonna left, save it. Some people failed to save any amount of money because they don't know their priorities, or does a lot of overspending it to anything they want, which is very irresponsible as an adult.
843  Economy / Economics / Re: Retirement Age for Workers - Does this Make Sense? on: May 16, 2023, 01:31:26 PM
Retirement age doesn't really matter in my opinion since we all have choices on what age we should retire. Senior employees contributed a lot in any companies, they are the best teachers to train new employees while getting a very decent salary, that's why even in the age of 60, they are still working to maximize the benefits of their hard work.

This kind of topic doesn't promote or encouraging us to work until we're old. Of course it is so much better to retire at an early age to celebrate our success.
844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Politicians behind the development of gambling platform on: May 16, 2023, 12:50:45 PM
Gambling is a form of business too so we can't restrict someone from doing it and its inappropriate too because of an single individual used it for bad intentions. Instead of creating policy against gambling business why not have a strict policy against who commits such crimes like they have to be spent life in prison or atleast they can't able to participate in any form of election when they have crime records.
Well, if it's a country that has a good judicial system and there is law and order, I don't think a politician from such a country would first use any money for things that are illegal or at least not allowed for a politician to be done just like owning a casino or something. Even if they do own one, they wouldn't use the funds earned through it for their political activities.

And if the country itself is full of corrupt politicians and there is bribery almost everywhere, I don't think that there can be any rule or regulation against such things especially if a politician is involved since they will have the power to clear any charge or order by the judicial system.

In our country, it is prohibited to be involved in any operations related to gambling if you are a government official. This is to avoid the reputation of public officials to be tainted as well as to avoid being caught having dirty money. Gambling connections and participations whether legal or illegal, the responsibility is on the hands of the politicians to stay away from it as much as possible so that there won't be conflict of interest in any point of view.

If a country is known to have a corrupt government and system, the more it is essential to prohibit the involvement since as you said, bribery and other illegal activities that could stem from gambling might be done, but since they have the upper hand, they will get away with it unscathed.
845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Awareness: Bitcoin logos on T-Shirts on: May 13, 2023, 11:57:59 AM
I've tried wearing one and trust me, no one even cares about the Bitcoin logo, no one asked me what's logo is it, or anything that poked their interest, or let's say somebody will asked what is it, the you'll say Bitcoin, and the first idea that will come up to their mind is "scam" because of scammers using bitcoin that has been reported in television so many times already.

If we really want Bitcoin awareness in a positive way, I think the Government has the only power to that in the majority of places.
846  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading is perfect work for jobless peoples on: May 13, 2023, 10:43:07 AM
In life there are many peoples wants freedom and this is available in day training and not any restrictions that whenever and wherever you want to doing work
If we thing about that are in enjoying with your family there you are also allow to work as well and also enjoy
Also freedom from your Boss.
come on, how can an unemployed person match day trading?

how do you make money if only the income he gets when trading doesn't match expectations!

an unemployed person is better off looking for a more stable job or business then if he wants to change his career to become a trader, he doesn't have to worry anymore about the capital he will use.  Currently, there are many jobs available and also business opportunities that a jobless person can try, but for daily trading, it is very risky.
Being unemployed doesn't mean having no income at all. There are many side hustle today that can really bring good income, Students are taking advantage of it and what more on an unemployed person. Though being stable or having a business is better than just relying on these side hustles. As you know I have an unemployed friend who is now I can say a good trader and gets a good amount of money by just trading. It's also an opportunity for unemployed person to still be productive even if he doesn't have a stable job. Imagine person with disabilities, They are most likely the one who are unemployed but being a trader is one option for them to generate a possible income even they are not physically working.

Self-employed is different from being an unemployed. Unemployed means you don't really have a source of income, even though you'll say you have savings to spend in trading, that will not be suffice since there's no guarantee of making profits as a beginner, more chances of losing I might say. So it is really important to have a source of income before engaging to trading, whether it's futures or spot.
847  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Understanding the Basics of Trading in the Cryptocurrency Market on: May 13, 2023, 08:55:50 AM
I agree with all of what you've said.

But it'll be all ruined in just one mistake, and that is when your emotions didn't agree on what you want to do. For me, emotional management is the first thing a trader should master first before proceeding in the world of trading, because it's hard to make a decision when your emotions are taking over always, that would surely mess up every single trade you're going to make.
848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: with the high transaction fees btc makes me stronger to hold btc. on: May 12, 2023, 11:53:56 AM
I don't see TX fees this high as an advantage or a positive, BTC is a 'free' currency that should be used anyhow the owner wants it. You can hold it for the long term even if TX fees are normal, you don't need high TX fees to do that, but when TX fees are this high you hinder and restrict people who want to spend BTC like a currency that it is, and restricting people from using BTC as a currency is a very big problem. BTC is not only an investment option, and your post makes it feel as if it is only good for that.

Maybe OP is being discourage to make a transaction to spend his Bitcoin on something he needs or wants because of high transaction fee. I don't see any problem with that since it's his decision whether to spend his Bitcoin hodlings or not in any kind of situation. Maybe he is just being practical about his money, especially if his Bitcoin holding is his only funds where he use in buying foods, paying bills, paying rents, etc.
849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How useful is Bitcoin to the youth? on: May 12, 2023, 05:27:06 AM

Youth are interested in Bitcoin because it's easy to work with if you understand the ntrigrity also it's a way to make money, over time BTC has risen, and with this, the youth may be interested in a way to do business digitally.
We need to talk more about the benefit of Biticion in other to attract more youth because the majority do not know how this coin works.

Not all of them are interested to be honest.

Youth is more interested in spending, partying, having fun, and all easy go lucky stuff, that's why it is important to teach them financial freedom while they are young. So, instead of doing the stuff I've mentioned, they will instead be busy on how to save their money to invest in Bitcoin, they are gonna flood you questions regarding about cryptocurrency and that's good.

However, you will also have to guide them, because they might get greedy in a bad way that they could end up losing all of their bitcoin.
850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important is it to keep your bitcoin investments secret from others ? on: May 12, 2023, 04:38:18 AM
Recently, I came to read this news

https://protos.com/spanish-police-rescue-crypto-investor-kidnapped-on-holiday/

The first thing that came to my mind after reading this was that one should not talk about his crypto investments with strangers or friends as it can pose various risks. If you are active on forums like bitcointalk and involved in trades, you should not give information which can help others relate to your identity.

It's because of two things for me (1) keep it a secret as much as possible to your family, because there's a high chance they will milk some money from you or even worst. (2) Keep it a secret from your social media friends, because you don't really know them all personally, you don't know who's gonna plan something bad just to get your cryptocurrency investment.

You don't really have to brag what you have just to be famous in whatever situation, or just because your friends are flexing their achievements in social media. Let them do theirs, and just do your thing as always.
851  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Technical indicators vs the News on: May 11, 2023, 11:41:57 AM
That's because news creates more FUDs, and the indicators only follows. News plays a huge part when it comes to pump and dump of the market, that's why when trading, it is important to know the latest news about the major cryptocurrency, especially Bitcoin, because when it dumps or pumps, most of the time, altcoins always follow.
852  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you survived during covid19 ? on: May 11, 2023, 06:46:23 AM
I live in a province so the COVID-19 was not that bad here. The food is not a problem, since we have a garden that has fruits and veggies, we even have chickens. The very important lesson I learned way back covid-19 was to save money as much as possible just in case of emergency. Eat healthy foods, exercise, and have a healthy lifestyle.

It's been a long journey but we all successfully passed that problem, thanks to God. Let's just hope there's no pandemic coming next anymore.
853  Economy / Economics / Re: Quit borrowing on: May 11, 2023, 05:55:43 AM
Borrowing is very common here in our country, especially when it is our relatives. Letting them borrow money is easy but it is hard when you're asking them to return the money they borrowed from you, that's why I don't lend money to people anymore even if they are my friends or even relatives. Lending them money will just make them more irresponsible when it comes to financial thing.

They will pay you using money that they borrowed from someone else, and it will just keep on looping, a never ending cycle of borrowed money.
854  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can this be effective against the increasing numbers of gamblers? on: May 10, 2023, 12:17:42 PM
Everyone uses social media to advertise a casino game and platform. Online casino social media strategies, on the other hand, work similarly to people marketing their businesses on the same platform. Promotions can reach many people unfamiliar with casino platforms, casinos need social media platforms to advertise their business, but they cannot rely on them. This may be a small component of their larger plan.
For the online casinos, yes but for the offline ones, I think many of them are doing an offline promotions. For a crypto casino, many of them are only using this forum to promote because they know that people here are very familiar in crypto than the people in social media sites. There might also be restrictions when placing a post or an ad related to gambling.

Promotions are important because this is how the gamblers discovers your site but as a casino owner, we must understand that there are some things too which are essential in order to become successful in this field like building a fun and profitable game to our customer and having a responsive customer support.

For online casinos, it is really important to make effective advertisements to promote the website. It is the fuel for them to be known and discovered by other gamblers. It is crucial especially to those newly established and are just arising websites because they have to be known in order for players to deposit and play so they could profit and continue operating in the long run. If the advertisements are not effective in gathering clients, casinos should step up their game to make it more appealing and more encouraging and this applies to both online and offline casinos. After all, who would want to try something that has a lousy advertisement that won't even leave a good taste to you.
855  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You Experienced Winning Bets By Upsets on: May 10, 2023, 07:22:54 AM
I once placed a bet on the underdogs and won. At first, I just casually placed bets on this team, because these underdogs were against my favorite basketball team
That's hilarious, you managed to bet on an underdog team where it match against of your favorite team, most gamblers are denial and they will keep to bet on their favorite team despite how bad or good the favorite team is.

It's why a wise bettor will not care with his favorite team or not, he will analysis and bet on the team which he think will win. Some underdog team can win due to many fans are overrated the favorite team.

I see this all of the time whether it's betting games (picking odds/covering spreads whatever) or whether it's playing fantasy football, people LOVE to bet on the teams that they, well..love.  The worst thing a gambler can do is bet ( and I include fantasy football in the betting conversation) with their heart and not their head.  It's the easiest way to lose money.  I made this mistake betting on the Cubs/Bulls/Bears as well as going out of my way to pick guys from these teams in fantasy...and got burnt enough times to learn from this common mistake.

It's really a wrong move to put your emotions the moment you start gambling. Emotions usually cloud our judgment and our decision making skills. Hence, it's best to put and let your brain take over you rather than following your heart's irrational desire to bet on your favorite team or player over the most substantial bet. But just take it as a lesson learned for you so that you won't make the same mistake again. It's okay to test the waters and just follow what's best the next time around for your advantage. At least now, you knew that it will cost you if you will be foolish in deciding.
856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Questions of the day for gamblers on: May 10, 2023, 02:42:52 AM
I don't think that if a casino is decentralized, the games they contain are also considered decentralized as well. I guess it's just the platform itself. Although I'm not quite sure, this is just based on my understanding and corrections are welcome. Regarding the casino managing or regulates their own slot machines, it's a no-no for me because it is much better if this odds will be handled by other parties to ensure that the odds are fair and not rigged. Even if other parties are involved in regulating the slot the casinos will not really be at the disadvantage because they still get to decide the rtp. But of course, they are not to decide the whole algorithm because if ever, it's possible to tweak it to the losing side of the players everytime which is unfair to the gamblers.

If you are playing slots which is a luck based game and a no-brainerand you always win, I think it's fair to say that you are lucky and it's your cup of tea because of the charm you have. Though it really depends whether you want to be humble or proud.
857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About football betting on: May 10, 2023, 12:34:02 AM
When it comes to sportsbetting as far as I know, casinos aren't really the one to decide the odds of winning. Unlike their other games in the platform which they can control the rtp in this way, it's the sole odds coming from the other source will be the basis of the players to win or lose. In this way, they also profit as well because the odds given to them will be the reference of the players who will make a bet.

Regardless of what kind of sports you are betting into, always make sure that you have enough knowledge about it so that your chances of winning will be higher. If you will impulsively bet on whatever team there is, then expect an unpleasant result because when it comes to sports, every factual information is crucial.
858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: May 09, 2023, 03:22:30 PM
Gambling is supposed to be for some certain people who can control themselves without causing harm to themselves. We need to try and help people who are having problems of gambling addiction or some other problems that might be as a result of gambling unnecessarily. We are liable for any result we get fr our various gambling activities.
If many people gamble in a controlled manner, they certainly won't have gambling addiction problems because they can gamble without chasing after wins and know when to stop. You can help these people but if they don't have the intention to cure themselves of gambling addiction, you won't be able to do it. Even if you have to force it, you still won't be able to do it.

They are responsible for the results they get but most of them cannot accept the results and continue to gamble using more money. Gambling responsibly will not cause any problems and we can enjoy it too.

The best way to achieve control and responsibility is to set a part a bankroll for every session that you play as I am assuming gambling addiction happens mostly to people who play instant result games like slot machines and alike and stay responsible when this bankroll ends they call it a day and quit. The problem is that this cannot be achieved instantly,I have been addicted myself in 2020 and since then I have started applying this methodology little by little until I made it possible,in the beginning weeks no matter how hard I tried I still could not stop, but then with the passing of time I started sometimes stopping and sometimes not until I was able to stop completely when I wanted.

It's really hard to establish self-control the moment you already fell into addiction.

In the very beginning, it is important to discipline yourself and make healthy boundaries between you and your gambling habits so that you will avoid the dangers that come with having a bad gambling ways just to satisfy yourself. Being responsible is every player's duty whenever they are gambling. It is essential to know your limitations so that you won't have a hard time in stopping yourself from gambling more and quitting it if it gets too overwhelming and uncontrollable for your own benefit. Personally, I know that I will easily get hooked up if I play. Hence, I do my best to limit myself from engaging to prevent unnecessary troubles.

It will still depend on you on how you will put up with your convictions and principles prior to building your gambling habits. It could make you happy and thankful you started gambling or the other way around depending on how you will utilize gambling to your advantage.
859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering requirements for withdraw on: May 09, 2023, 01:43:17 PM
the problem is, so many people tend to overlook reading the terms of conditions on sites that's why people get stucked on the site not knowing what to do. also the thing that worries me the most is that, you need some good recommendations from someone who is a trusyworthy user on that site since some reviews can be fake too. i have tried various gambling platforms out of curiosity and most sites i visited have different rules in which they focus on their specialty offered on their house and being not able to withdraw to a ceratin threshold is pretty common on those sites like dice, slots and those fast money-making games.

This is right.

Sometimes, people do not really care about reading the TOS first before agreeing because they find it too long to read. It may appear as a hassle to some, but it is really important to read the policies before depositing in a casino website and even in other platforms in general. This is where the issues start. The laziness of the people and their nonchalantly attitude of being complacent makes them unaware of the things that are important and relevant. Hence, when an inconvenience happen, all they do is to already rant and complain instead of trying to fix the situation first or analyzing where they went wrong.

Regarding fake reviews, these kind of feedback really do exists. Some are form of shilling and paid advertisement from the casino itself disguised as feedback to encourage more players to try their site. You need to be vigilant to spot which is unbiased and biased review. That's why you must do a research to know whether what they say about the site is accurate or not.
860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: May 09, 2023, 12:03:32 PM
^

As I understand it, few countries are really interested in identifying people dangerous to society at an early stage. More to the point, they are not even interested in reducing the number of gambling addicts. Everything the authorities do is in one way or another about increasing the level of control over the citizens. Everything else is just for show. That is why close people are the only ones who can help to identify gambling addiction at an early stage and help a gambler to overcome it.
I agree, such people should look for professional help or get support by close circle. I don't blame reckless people who leave gambling addicts to their own fate since it was their own fault for losing life savings on the casino. Some gamblers don't take it seriously and keep depositing because they don't have close friends who can warn them about the possible results addiction can lead to, unfortunately. If you just rely on government support, it will not be as effective as the help by friend. Hard to accept but this is what my experience tells me about this possible scenario.

Professional help is really needed by gambling addicts because intervention of professionals can greatly help them recover from their bad gambling habits since it is composed of different treatments customized for the patient's need such as the counselling, the medications, and the process of treatment itself. There's no shortcut in treating addiction. If one really like to abandon his old gambling ways, one must be willing to undergo the whole process because otherwise, relapse will happen and you'll end up in circles instead of getting healed.

Support from loved ones is essential when a person is undergoing rehabilitation. However, if a person is unwilling to change and is unwilling to let go gambling despite its negative effects to himself, friends, relatives, and loved ones in general are entitled to their right to leave and cut ties before it even becomes toxic and unbearable on their end. Be reminded that as a player, yourself is your responsibility. You are not a responsibility of other people, let alone to support you, even the harmful gambling habits you developed.
