841  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can Israeli - Palestinian conflict worsen the crisis? on: October 11, 2023, 10:30:33 AM
In my opinion all the leaders, presidents, kings, prime ministers, government officials of all the nations should go through "a walk of shame" and put in jail for the rest of their lives. This world needs a restart, something along the lines of Noa's flood and the event which killed dinosaurs. If you think about it, things are wrong from the root,  the tree of humanity needs correction, only way to achieve that is to terminate the population and rebuild the civilization  again.

This kind of restart is required every 10 to 12 thousand years. Nothing will change until the source of all evil is dead.

US, ISIS, RU, UK, Israel, Mullas, Nazis, Hitler, Trump, Satoshi, they all are the same ( evil humans ), except the last name.😂

While you are at it, don't forget to watch 2 kids a day, by David Wachsmann.

A world where we treat our children like that and nobody says anything about it, yeah it'd be better to restart this world. Starting with goliaths.🤔

But you do realize that there were actually more wars in the past than in the present. In a big reset though maybe the world can recharge its lost energy since there will be fewer humans remaining and let's say everything goes totally back to the past; no electricity, internet, the use of fuel, etc. But there will be wars once against since humans are born greedy, dominating, and power-seeking. Not saying they are perfect because there are some that are even worse but without governments, the UN, etc. there will be more bloodshed and injustices.
842  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can somebody make a successful career in gambling on: October 11, 2023, 10:06:23 AM
Are the answers, not obvious OP? I still call gambling as a sort of entertainment. It is possible to make a career out of gambling if you are employed by a gambling company or you start your own gambling business. Other than that, it is hard to imagine making it your regular source of income. You can't be lucky all the time so how are you getting money for your regular expenses during a string of bad luck?

And to those that are saying that there are people that are always gambling and can be seen in the casinos daily. They are mostly businessmen or they have professions that give them the luxury to gamble big amounts regularly.

There are professional gamblers that do nothing but gamble, and even when they lose, they still have a winning streak. The game has players sing to entertain, thus it's gambling out of playing for enjoyment people might get lucky. They have prepared themselves for any eventuality. Every gambling agent has their own commission share, and from my experience, when gaming companies wisely invest in marketing, business opportunities follow. When I see businessmen gambling with money, I used to be terrified, but now I don't mind because it leads to business conversations that will help their company while still being entertaining. Gambling is meant to be fun, after all.

Really? And you know them personally? Did you know their personal backgrounds? When I was in college, one of my friends gambled in a casino nearly every day mostly playing poker. But he came from a rich family so he's got the funds. The capital alone when you gamble in order to win a significant amount is not small so I am curious if an ordinary person is capable of just doing nothing but gamble.

Maybe you're terrified because of the huge amounts they gamble. But it's normal for rich people to gamble huge amounts of money like it's nothing to them.
843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 11, 2023, 09:46:49 AM
Playing healthy, I can agree to that, with Zion and CJ plus everyone on the rotation, they can really compete and bring hard time to anyone.

I think if Zion will be playing more games this season with less or no injury they can push to the playoff and make the team to be more competitive,
Both Zion and CJ can produce decent numbers and, with a good chemistry, they might carry the entire squad to move to the next round.

Too early though, as we needed to see first whether Zion will be on his full potential in this season or just like the other season he will
be bench because of his injury.

There's no question that they'll secure a spot in the playoffs if Zion remains healthy. They've proven their ability to do so in the past, and I'm confident they can repeat that success. It's not just CJ; Brandon Ingram has been the most reliable go-to player on the team when Zion is sidelined, and he certainly deserves credit. However, the team faces challenges without Zion, as they miss a player who can dominate in the paint. It's evident how unpredictable they become when Zion is on the court. The roster is solid, but when one key player is sidelined due to an unexpected injury, it affects the team's confidence as a whole.

I am also optimistic that Zion will finally become healthy this season. The Pelicans waited for years to see a healthy Zion capable of finishing not just the regular season but the playoffs as well. The team continues to have a good roster to team up with Zion. There's CJ and Ingram as the other stars of the team while Valanciunas and Alvarado are pretty good players as well.

I think it was last season or before that, the Pelicans battled for the top 1 in the West. So without a doubt the Pelicans when healthy is a threat to any team especially during the playoffs.

846  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does bitcoin price increase after halving? on: October 10, 2023, 07:21:32 PM
Hey man, I know this question has popped up plenty of times, but no worries, the halving is just around the corner, and it's natural to be curious. Looking at the historical trends, we've seen prices typically rise as we approach the halving and sometimes even after it's done, so it's safe to say the halving effect plays a big role.

Now, let's get to the juicy stuff: if we're in for a bull run this year (which seems pretty likely), do you think Bitcoin could hit a new all-time high either this year or in the coming one?

This is all about a bullish outlook, so if you're on the bearish side, no offense, but maybe just sit this one out. 😄 Just kidding, feel free to chime in with your thoughts!

I thought newbies were the only ones asking if the price of bitcoin increases after its halving. There are no guarantees of course but all bitcoin halvings in the past had the same results. Bitcoin's price increases on or after the halving. But what makes the halving more amazing is that bitcoin always made all-time highs the following year. And it is not just bitcoin, the halving drives the whole crypto market into a bull run where a lot of altcoins especially the top-valued ones are also reaching their all-time highs.
847  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DCA, the most convenient way to increase your bitcoin as an investor. on: October 10, 2023, 07:00:48 PM
DCA is good way of buying bitcoin notwithstanding whether you are new or old, whether you have money in large amount or I'm low amount. The advantage of it is that, it will reduce losses that may arise when the market fall when you have bought your bitcoin, it saves you from buying bitcoin all and then later observe that the market hs gone down below where you bought when you can actually buy more cheaper at lower price.

Right. DCA's benefit is just too good, especially in investing volatile assets like bitcoin and altcoins. Despite this, it took me years before I finally did the DCA which started late last year. I am a regular gambler so maybe that kind of attitude made me think of just risking trying to catch the dip in the past. So I am glad to finally make a DCA and will continue doing it maybe until early next year.

For the newbies who are still trying to get a clue on how the market works, DCA is the best strategy. The same to people who are busy and those who do not like to spend a lot of time analyzing the market with its short-term effects.
848  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is a Standing Desk the Right Choice for Traders? on: October 10, 2023, 06:40:18 PM
I have never used a standing desk and have no plans of doing it. In the long run, using it when you are trading is not healthy. You will be used to it and might just even stand most of the time when things become more serious. Health is wealth as well so it should be considered.

If trading is your profession, maybe buying a standing desk is fine, and then put it in the kitchen when you are busy cooking or doing something. But after the regular chores, it would be better to return to a more relaxing desk.
849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In Case of Global Conflict, Is BTC The Best Alternative? on: October 10, 2023, 06:19:44 PM
It is not just Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Hamas. There's still the ongoing war in Yemen and I believe Libya is still in a state of civil war and maybe Syria although Assad is regaining the upper hand with the help of the Russians. There are indeed a lot of areas that are highly sensitive like the Korean peninsula, China and its neighbors, the Azerbaijan-Armenia issue on Nagorno-Karabakh, etc.

Bitcoin is decentralized and is not involved in any type of politics so it could become some sort of protecting our wealth like gold and other precious stuff that are valued over time.
850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 10, 2023, 05:44:37 PM
I don’t know who at ESPN is doing their NBA rankings and predictions but I wish I could bet against them. After the horrible take on the Bucks upcoming season, they’re now saying that Zion Williamson is the 57th best player in the NBA. I could maybe see calling him the 20th, but 57th? If he plays in even 50 games this year he’ll likely be an MVP candidate…

It is becoming really weird indeed. I don't even think it is that hard to analyze that the Bucks are getting more than 48 wins next season. If they were able to win 58 last season then it is expected that they will perform better this season. Jrue is a great player with a good defense but overall, Dame is much better than him, especially on the offensive side.

If my memory serves me right, Zion when he played many games in a previous season became an early candidate for MVP. I think it was the time when they moved up to #1 or #2 in the West. So it is laughable to call him 50sh among the best.
851  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 09, 2023, 06:16:50 PM
For sure Islam Makhachev is not really a likable guy like Khabib Nurmagomedov, I really think it is because he doesn't talk that much and his English was bearly understandable, but just like you have said he is a great fighter for sure,
Great fighters don't need bullshit, I like silent characters in the world of fighting except entertainment wrestling maybe they will play promos to attract the audience, Islam Makhachev is not a replica of Khabib so don't compare the two too much, they still have their own characters, but they are the greatest fighters and fighters undefeated, anyone has to admit their greatness, they ruined the opponent's undefeated record and any fighter who wants to increase the number of wins then don't oppose and accept the fight from Islam Makhachev.

I like silent fighters as well and just let their fists and legs do the talking inside the octagon. But people indeed have different personalities. Khabib has his own ways, he has a decent knowledge of English and he talks with confidence. I remember Anderson Silva has done the same although he did try to become a villain for obvious marketing purposes. Something likable could be interpreted as marketable. It is sad but it is the reality. Silent fighters and those who have difficulty speaking English usually do not have a huge market unless they are paired against popular fighters with huge fanbases.
852  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want to fulfill my mother's dream of building a house with Bitcoin. on: October 09, 2023, 05:35:14 PM
There is nothing wrong with having crazy ambitions in life OP. And if you work hard with dedication then you are going to achieve your dreams. With regards to your plan to trade, start small so you can test if your skills are indeed enough. Test yourself if you are ready including how to deal with your emotions which is usually the reason traders lose money.

And by the way, as mentioned in some comments here, I am also curious about what happened to your quail business. I noticed you haven't made a single response to the topics you created including this one. It was inspirational but you should engage yourself in the topics you created.
853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: October 09, 2023, 02:49:28 PM
Anyway, I want Casimero to get the winner of Inoue-Tapales since the Nery fight is too risky unless it's a title eliminator which guarantees the winner a title fight. And the fight should not happen in Mexico. Casimero-Nery would be a guaranteed war and it could be 50/50 or something close.

Yes, we wanted the winner facing Casimero next, assuming the John Riel winning against Oguni. But it make sense as well to see Casimero vs Nery going for a like title eliminator as you have said, winner facing Inoue. And I like that fight because as you have describe it, going to be war and who will see if Nery can handle the power of Inoue at 122 lbs.

Casimero is expected to win over Oguni anyway. It'll be a shame if Casimero will have a hard time beating Oguni who's already inactive. So who do you think becomes the favorite if in case a Casimero-Nery happens in the US? I slightly favor Nery since he is the more proven fighter in this division and he is still in his late 20s while Casimero is already in his mid-30s.

But I just want Casimero to not enter into deals after the Oguni fight and wait for the outcome of the Inoue-Tapales which is expected this coming December 26. I also expect both Casimero and Nery available after the Inoue-Tapales bout since the Japanese might pick either of them in his next return. So it might be hard to make a Casimero-Nery this time until Inoue decides who is next after Tapales provided he becomes undisputed.

I really have the feeling that Inoue might move up after a single defense of his undisputed championships. The timing is just too perfect for a move to 126 late next year considering that its current champions are beatable and are easy to negotiate if the plan is to once again unify all the 4 belts.
854  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 09, 2023, 02:16:01 PM
I haven't seen the odds of this over 48.5 wins. But if this is 1.80 or above then I am taking this risk.

Hey there, mate, I'm afraid you can't get those odds with over 48.5 wins because currently, it's higher than that. The odds are already out on sportsbet.io, so you can check it out for yourself.

https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/basketball/usa/nba/nba-23-24-6490d1eb11281ad1f2fbdce3

Though even it's not 48.5 but 54.5 wins with Giannis and Dame still realistic to happen, if you love to spare money in risking into something
this kind of bet might attract you.

Early pick that will allow you to place your future bet, if things turn good for the Bucks. I mean, if Dame will support Giannis as the main alpha
of the team and put everything to his new team. The chance of winning that pick is very possible.

Ya, that’s the reason I was shocked with ESPN saying their number was 48.5. I think they easily hit that and wouldn’t be shocked if they won 60 games.

Looks like I’ll be getting my first look of the new Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night. For some reason I got an ad on HBO (MAX) saying the game would be televised there. We’ll see…

Ya, I think everyone is surprised by the prediction of ESPN, maybe they really underestimated the tandem of Giannis and Lillard to bring the team on the top of the Eastern Conference. I think Dame understand his role with the Bucks, Giannis is stil the alpha and the franchise player but Dame is going to support him in the offensive load and I think even if the Bucks losses Jrue, they got one of the most explosive offensive player in the NBA. And I do agree that 54.5 is a good starting line for the Bucks and win more than that and then capture the Eastern Conference top spot again. So good for those who are going to put a outright bet on that one for the Bucks as the line is very attractive and the chances are high for the Bucks to meet that.

Now that is the more challenging odds. And even at 54.5, it is still a favorite that the Bucks will hit that number. Hitting 60 wins might be hard but it is not out of the equation. Maybe ESPN just wanted a safer number but it is indeed too conservative.

The Bucks' main rival in the East would be Boston. It'll be like 50/50 although there might be other teams that will surprise us. The Miami Heat seem undercrewed most of the time but it is always a dark horse over the years. Young New York and Cleveland earned decent experiences last season and they are also coming this season stronger and with experience.
855  Economy / Economics / Re: Population: Economic strength or weakness on: October 09, 2023, 01:39:31 PM
China and India, which are currently the first and second largest countries, have grown to become world economic powers. In my opinion, population is an economic power because business opportunities certainly require a long process from production to consumption, countries that have large populations are certainly a very useful resource and important for the economy.

China's population can be misleading. China has over 1.4 billion in population but due to its huge area, it only has 390 population per square miles. Meanwhile, India has 1,130 population per square mile which is nearly three times as many compared to China.

Huge or low population density has its cons and pros. Lower population density countries are less likely to fast-track their resources but unemployment might not be a concern. Whereas huge population density countries if utilized well can quickly exploit resources and drive their economy bigger. Failure to do so can lead to unemployment, very cheap labor, and other issues that reflect a lower GDP per capita.
856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: October 09, 2023, 12:38:30 PM
And most likely that's why we wanted to see first if Nery can win against Casimero before going to Inoue. This two are well known trash talkers so it will be a great and interesting fight. Both of them are power punchers, so they are proud and wanted to knock each other out. And so I'm not surprised on what you describe on Nery.

Maybe have tried to undermined the Japanese and I think we do see it before. Just like in the case of Manny Pacquiao wherein guys like Ricky Hatton, Oscar Dela Hoya, Margarito or even Miguel Cotto doesn't consider Manny the monster that time, but they all eat their words as Pacquiao wins by KO/total beatdown and dominated them.

What we read probably isn't true; it's likely just a marketing technique to get people invested in their story. As for Inoue, he's at the top, so challengers are normal to throw trash talk at him to get noticed. But I agree with you that Nery vs. Casimero should fight first, and the winner will have a chance to face Inoue. I guess Casimero vs. Nery is also a 50/50 match, so if Casimero dominates, I think he deserves to face Inoue.

Agree. Fighters wanted attention so many of them resorted to trash-talking with some of them even tried to act like they were underestimating the guy but they knew the real situation. Pacquiao was actually the betting favorite over Hatton, Margo, and Cotto so those guys knew they were in for a hell of a night. It's just that Margo has a big mouth so he tried to act in front of the media that Pacman will lose. Only the De La Hoya fight where Pacquiao became a huge underdog since he moved up 3 divisions in less than a year which was crazy.

857  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can Israeli - Palestinian conflict worsen the crisis? on: October 08, 2023, 04:11:55 PM
The region has always been sensitive over the years. And I guess the conflict will grow more extensive as the Israelis will indeed search and attack Hamas bases while the latter will continue their full-scale attacks. What is sad are the innocent civilians suffering from both sides.

Of course, the conflict will have an effect although it might not be that big. Palestine and Israeli trade will be affected but in a worst-case scenario, there might be some alternatives to their products and services.

Hassle masyado.

Hanggang September 29 lang pala to kabayan. 1 day lang. Sobrang laki nga ng discount at 30% at pwde pa talaga groceries. Pag may time ako etry ko nga rin e-compare presyo ng SM thru Grab sa Shoppe at Lazada.
859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hardwork pays not luck! on: October 08, 2023, 07:14:37 AM
I say hard work pays but hard work with luck pays a lot. I guess money coming from luck is easy to lose as well. Either we get greedy or we become blinded and then forget to plan well on how to spend and make it grow. That's what happened to me some years ago. I was lucky to invest almost all of my savings in crypto last 2017. It turned into something huge that I never imagined. I also thought that the market would continue the same trend. In the end, I lost nearly all of its value when I sold them when bitcoin was in the $3k range fearing it might drop more.
860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: October 08, 2023, 06:11:40 AM
Meanwhile, Steve Kim talked to Bob Arum and it's said that the fight is looking forward this December 26 in Japan once again. So it seems like American money is once again beaten by the Japanese sponsors in trying to bring this undisputed fight to Inoue's home. But at least things are clearer now that this fight will happen. But it's not too late yet for ESPN and its partners to bid more money in order to bring this fight to America.

This venue's a bit of a snoozer, right? Hehe, sorry for being blunt. I think this whole thing should go down on neutral ground. I mean, we're talking about two champions here, it's an undisputed fight, so there shouldn't be any home court advantage. Bringing it over to the US would be a win for boxing – big money's up for grabs there. Not only will the arena be packed, but their PPV subscriptions would shoot through the roof. Let's hope they see the potential in that.

Personally, I also love this fight to happen in the US so that it's a neutral ground for both especially since both are holding 2 belts each. But I won't really be surprised if they announce this fight to happen in Japan again. Japan is the 3rd biggest economy in the world so it can absolutely outbid those American promoters and networks.

If this fight indeed happens in Japan then it only means that the money being offered to stage the fight in America is smaller compared to the Japanese sponsors. The audience and ticket sales can be easily beaten by Japan since it also has a huge population and most of its citizens are rich. If this event is a PPV then the Americans need to pay the subscription to watch this undisputed fight.

What is odd though if this happens in Japan is the scheduled date. Big fights in Japan happen on Tuesdays (Wednesday in the West) while in the US and in Western countries, big events happen on Saturdays. So the PPV buys will absolutely drop since it is a normal working day in the West. But it also means that Japanese sponsors are bidding a huge amount of money that will beat the projected number of PPV buys.
