861  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 20, 2024, 05:49:12 PM
Two more days until the return of NBA basketball. I think I’m going through withdrawals. There haven’t been many moves as far as signing players either. Hopefully the players return refreshed and healthy to make a run into the postseason. I expected the Warriors to make some signings or something. Weird there aren’t more free agents finding homes.
862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 19, 2024, 03:32:59 PM
Embarrassed  No more basketball until Thursday.

All Star weekend was a bit of a letdown. I don’t know why they don’t just put up a million dollars for the slam dunk winner and save the contest.

I stopped drinking or cooking with tap water.  Better go with a soft natural mineral water or filter the tap water with an osmosis filter.  ...and not because of Mr Jones ...

I treat tap water basically like it's poison.  I hate the fact that I brush my teeth and shower in it.  If there's one thing that was great about growing up in Northern California it was that the water was second to none.  Unfortunately, they even ruined that with fluoride, but I dream of the day where I can bathe in a private river and brush my teeth with well water from snow melt.  Makes you think the current homeless population in some areas are living the dream.

Anyway, if Bitcoin could kindly jump to $200K so I don't have to shower in contaminated water anymore that would be great.  For now, I get those 5 gallon water bottles dropped off pretty regularly...
864  Other / Meta / Re: Icopress ' Merit Source Application 🚩 on: February 18, 2024, 07:28:27 PM
Last time I checked merit records are public - so what exactly is the issue here? If a merit source were to "abuse" their power it won't take long until the community calls them out for it. Besides that, what's the worst a campaign manager could do by being a merit source? Rank up business accounts for their clients? lol.

I'm also quite confident that any manager here on average read and see more posts than any other user.

It isn't really exclusive to campaign managers but if you've been watching what's going on here over the last few years you'd see that some people took their merit source status and used it to get their subordinates or people who agree with their politics into the default trust network.  They then use their influence to have those who don't agree with their opinions excluded.  This has led to the default trust network becoming nearly useless for real world activity and actually trusting people on this forum with money as I believe it was meant for.

Well… I missed both legs of my parlay last night which is a bit impressive in its own way. I think everyone who saw the Mackenzie Dern fight were the real winners last night though.

I feel sleepy but I'm curious about the dunk contest. Even if it doesn't have the flavor of the old years, last year McClung brought some excitement back to the contest. I want to see if he will do something different this year. I'm not sure if Jaylen Brown and Jaime Jaquez Jr. are up to the challenge, I can't imagine how good they can dunk. I wonder if Jacob Toppin is as good as his brother Obi. I've never followed him either. For now, with the limited information I have McClung seems to be the favorite again. I hope we can see surprise performances from the others.

I thought I’d read that Jalen Brown will be the first All Star to compete in the contest in 5 years. I guess that’s the only thing I’m interested in seeing, but I’ll probably just watch the highlights on YouTube tomorrow.

We betting on Mackenzie tonight?
868  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: February 17, 2024, 05:53:48 PM
100 is not that much. Just divide it up and do 20 five times a day. Although at this rate, I think Bitcoin will reach 100k before we see any muscle gain results. At the end of this challenge, (if enough time has passed), we are going to have chad bods.

Either way, I am in and still going!

100 is quite a bit to do on a daily basis. I’m on day 16 and just now feeling like I could be doing more than 100 per day without hurting myself and I’ve been regularly lifting weights for years. A lot could depend on your body weight too I guess. I’m over 200lbs so it’s definitely not light work doing things like push-ups and pull-ups.
869  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 17, 2024, 05:48:06 PM
Correction that didn’t even take us below $50K… Bullish.
870  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 16, 2024, 08:29:53 PM
Some bitcoiners bristle at ETFs...not me.
Bought into a couple a few days ago (in Roth)...not taxable, haha.
A path: from some strange swedish bitcoin ETP (Bitcoin XBT tracker One or something like that) and straight into US-based.
An expensive tx (they REALLY fleece you), but it was up about 10X since 2020, so, no biggie.

I grabbed some too. I went with FBTC for the custody diversification. Also tossed it in a Roth IRA. Bitcoin is cool and holding your own is respectable, but long term Bitcoin gains without having to self custody or pay taxes on gains… That’s just too good to avoid for any reason. I’m up 25% already.
871  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "I'm DONE With The Left!" Joe Rogan BLASTS Liberal "Cult" on: February 16, 2024, 08:26:32 PM
I’m shocked there’s anyone left supporting this destruction of America. Liberal politicians are a joke and I don’t think any of them would be caught in public surrounded by those they represent without armed body guards. The shame of these people… The border, the children, the bribes, the mentally ill, the wars… If you voted for Joe Biden last election, maybe it’s time to admit politics aren’t for you and leave selecting the people running the country to those who actually have a clue.
872  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: February 16, 2024, 07:37:15 PM
Today I got the results of my health check and I must admit, it could be better.

My last checkup the doctor told me my blood pressure is pretty low for a guy my age and I should consider adding some stress into my life.  Cheesy  I figured posting here more should do the trick.  Grin

Today I will hit 1,500 push-ups since I started this challenge (I started on February 2nd, before I started this thread).  I feel like I've made a pretty good effort sticking with it so far and hope others are as well.  I'd like to urge others to update occasionally with their progress as well.  Would love it if at the very least this thread managed to do 100,000 push-ups together.
873  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 16, 2024, 07:30:00 PM
I keep saying it but it bears repeating.  We're bumping up against the very last resistance level before the all time high and when it breaks we're going to zip up $10,000 in what will look like a straight line when zooming out on a chart.  I also don't think there's enough sellers left at the all time high to really slow down what is coming.  The ETFs are taking in far more than anyone expected and their intakes aren't slowing much.  It will be interesting to see what happens with ETF intakes once a new all time high is reached and the fomo really starts.  Has me wishing I bought options instead of shares when the ETFs went live.
874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: February 16, 2024, 07:27:21 PM
Gambling because you don't have sufficient money is probably the worst thing you could do for yourself.  Gambling is a form of entertainment and like other forms of entertainment, it costs money.  So what people need to understand is that you go gambling to have fun, not to make money.  Sure, the possibility that you could get rich is there and motivates people to give it a shot, but if you aren't enjoying the act of gambling, you're giving your money away for nothing.  Always remember that gambling isn't a job, it's a form of entertainment.  You wouldn't go to the strip club hoping to make money either.
875  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: February 16, 2024, 03:43:56 PM
I assume we are allowed to change pushup style between finger tip, fist, diamond, wide hands, wide feet, but may I request an official ruling on these please?

I don’t know if I’m the guy doing the official rulings or not, but hey, I’ll take up the responsibility. My official ruling is that you can and should do whatever makes you a better person. In this case it’s strengthening. Any activity or commitment you want to make towards that is better than allowed, it is praised.
876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 16, 2024, 03:39:48 PM
The Milwaukee Bucks losing to the Memphis Grizzlies yesterday was a bit wild, but it happens. I’m looking forward to the weekend NBA All Star shenanigans and hope the dunk and three point contests don’t disappoint. Would be great to see some new high flying dunks although I haven’t followed who is in it this year.
877  Economy / Goods / Re: ~ Buying a TESLA CYBERTRUCK with BITCOIN ~ on: February 16, 2024, 07:07:00 AM
I don’t think this is true but I am seeing people talk about it on social media. When I looked in my account this reward wasn’t listed, but who knows… Maybe they’re rolling it out or something. In any event, if anybody wants to test drive a Tesla or buy one with my referral code you get 3 months of full self driving for free or $500 solar products… PM me if interested.

878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 16, 2024, 12:13:12 AM
While we’re talking about Draymond Green… This clip of him laying injured on the ground while the teams continue to play multiple possessions is crazy. Why didn’t Steve Kerr take a timeout? Why didn’t any of the Warriors commit a foul? It’s pretty disrespectful what they did here.

879  Economy / Reputation / Re: Where do we draw a line? Signature campaigns or shilling campaigns on: February 15, 2024, 10:44:36 PM
My only interaction with him was when I reached out to him to let him know that one of his signature campaign participants was spreading lies about me in an attempt to damage my reputation because a moderator deleted one of his posts insanely criticizing myself and Elon Musk.  His response was to join in on attacking me in defense of his signature campaign participant, which I felt was not only unprofessional of a campaign manager, but also seemingly shady and out of place.  No shock that the registration date of the user he was protecting was right after his registration date, and they have similar posting styles, but I would never dare allege that the accounts of dkbit98 and icopress are controlled by the same person.  I already know the attacks that would come along with such an allegation and I'm sure icopress is a stand up guy that would never double dip into his own signature campaigns.

Don't tell a lie about me and I won't tell the truth on you  Wink

Fixed the quote for you. I wonder why you cut part of it out…

Telling the truth about me. LOL. If there’s one thing I’m absolutely not concerned about, it’s you telling the truth about anything. I’ve been here for over a decade so it is possible our paths have crossed, but you were not memorable to me until it became clear you were a con artist.
880  Other / Meta / Re: The effect the mixer ban has had on the forum. on: February 15, 2024, 10:33:28 PM
the effect i have noticed is this:

when people had mixer avatars and footers.. alot of their posts were always aimed at privacy, where they would then mention a mixer..
now when i see the same people with betting avatars/footers. their conversations are now gambling related...
when people are using/paid by the merit cycle troll meme.. their posts become more trollish

seems money decides their mindset

exactly .  I won't do a gambling one .

I give this signature away to talk.img

I was sending him 0.001 a month from my mixers fees but I do not have that much spare btc so I gave him my signature for free.

I also kept an avatar that makes a general reference to privacy.

I make funds on altcoinstalks 5x slower than I did here. so i need around 25-30 months of posting their to cover my funds lost.

and I do not hold theymos wrong to do what he did.

I would not go to jail to run mixer campaigns.

I would not kill off bitcointalk for the sake of keeping mixers.

If you don’t enjoy gambling that makes sense. As far as your predicament goes though, you’d have your self-debt paid off in a few months rather than a couple years and wouldn’t have to post on a site you don’t care about.

Another option… Why not shill here for jambler? That’s basically the same as shilling for mixers under the guise of privacy and you can still do it here for money for some reason (which makes no sense).
