5:47 and counting....

Salsacz, here's the slightly tidied up gold on black bumper sticker, small version:

and here's a blue on white I did for the fun, not totally happy with it, but is nice, clear, simple and less dramatic than the G/b

On the printing front, I'm going to get some of the gold on black printed via:
www.vistaprint.nl
Their bumper sticker is 279mm x 76mm, I made the full versions to that size precisely
As well as fullsize bumper stickers, I'll get some smaller (50% reduction, so 1/4 the area of the big version) stickers printed up on a roll, for NXTing things smaller than a car.
My stuff is all in .jpg, vistaprint.nl has no problem with that, I'm assuming vistaprint.de won't have a problem either.
Heres the link, choose 'Eigenes Design hochladen', and take it away....
http://www.vistaprint.de/gallery/AGQBAAABAI8AAAA=/au%C3%9Fenaufkleber-rechteckig.aspx?txi=15107&xnid=UseCasePage_Bumpers+Stickers+%28linked+item%29_Stickers+%26+Decals_Labels+%26+Stamps_All+Products&xnav=BrowseDesigns

Send me a PM with yr e-mail and I'll send u the full size versions for printing. TinyPic wants to compress everything it sees....

Bounty would be nice, but no rush, I'll see what the printing costs come to first, and if anyone else wants some stickers.
BTW, stole Mareks 3d rendering for the gold on black, gonna share some bounty with him.

EvilDave: you have 9 hours Cheesy

8:57 and counting.
On the case. Do u have a fast turnaround print shop ready to go ?
In NL, I'd use:
www.vistaprint.nl
24-48hours delivery, very cheap & reasonable quality.
Maybe they have a German equivalent?
......and, as if by magic (well, google):

doesnt this mean its illegal to sell anything on craigslist? i mean would it be different if someone sold their bicoins on craigslist instead of localbitcoins? are bitcoins legally speaking any different from any other good that you might buy on craigslist?

It's the dollar amount.  They ran up against anti-money laundering laws.

The feds have an amount ($10,000) and states and local jurisdictions may have their own laws on the subject too.

It's a mine-field for those of us in the US.

so then people buying cars for > 10,000 on craigslist are breaking the law?

I don't believe so since a car is a physical good.  It has to do with money-for-money transmission/exchange.

OWOW bitcoin is considered money in the us now?

No, but accepting $10,000 is under money laundering laws.
FC! See you can make useful posts. I am proud of you!!

I do believe if you buy (or sell) a car for $10001 one or both ** could ** be prosecuted to the full extent of law. Such a nice friendly country america is. Come to america, spend you vacation here. Just dont spend too much money!

That is insane.
What is happening to Charlie Shrem is also crazy:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=435059.0

If that happened in Russia, u can bet your sweet ass that the US gov would immediately call it a politically motivated and malicious arrest.

Conferences

Berlin (February 12/13)
- McJavar
- l8orre
- admiral.fu
- Bitventurer
- Salsacz (?)
- narknark (?)

Berliners: lurning, nakauchi, Edward Snowden

Guys, are you ready for the conference  Cool

Current team is:

l8orre - local
admiral.fu - help between sessions
Bitventurer - from Hamburg  - network pass
Salsacz - from South Bohemia - network pass

I just finished Business cards design:

Salsacz: Over promo stuff for the conference:
Do you want some stickers, for example:

I can send a slightly tidied up, full size version in a few hours. You could then get it printed up locally for the conf.
People love free stuff, and stickers always end up in a nice visible spot. Very cheap, very effective at spreading the word.

How's admiral.fu and the t-shirts coming on?
1785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 07, 2014, 10:26:16 PM
I've seen some clusterfucks in my time, but this is becoming truly epic.

You guys need to get organised, stop chasing the magic beans, and take a long hard look at who is making money out of this.
I'm pretty sure most of the guys/girls/whatever posting on this thread have lost at least a lot of time, and at worst a lot of actual real money over the last 24 hours.

I could be wrong, maybe most of u are happy with how this is working out, but it really doesn't look that way.

1786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 07, 2014, 09:04:31 PM
hi, just wanna ask, is this nxt-e.com launched by u guys?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=453580.0
I think the answer is:

GOD, no, its a scam, ffs!

Not us, not even the FCs, (I think)
1787  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 07, 2014, 07:25:11 PM
Hey, the FCs have managed to change some of the colours on their nex client. The black top bar on NXT is now orange in nex.
Big improvement, must invest.

@FC (or anyone who knows) wtf is a GHOST protocol ? Or an OldBlue specification ? Just curious....

Read the whitepapers on the GHOST protocol and the OldBlue protocol.   Links are on www.nexcoin.net

FYI, Nxt doesn't employ either GHOST protocol or the OldBlue protocol.

You aren't technical so I doubt you'll understand the significance of these two papers.   Stick to critcizing the colors of a UI.
That answers my question, FCs, and, yeah, I am aware of my limitations.
Still, nice orange, bro, can see why you'd be so proud.

Jesus, that nex logo on nexcoin is awful  . Change it mate, offer a bounty, just.....get rid of it. Really.
1788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 07, 2014, 07:10:04 PM
sure I would like to help but I am a kind of jobless since there is an unclaimed coins commitee. They decide and pay out the unclaimed coins.

Make sure it's not a poll but rather a thread where people (not sockpuppets) post their vote.
Or use the voting site...

http://nxtvote.com/

Set up some hard parameters, sockpuppetry can be reduced to a minimum.

What is the impact if this is changed?  Will some folks lose access to their accounts?

No.  It has to do with generating blocks.

You should change it in your fork of Nxt.  It would be good.

No, nevermind.  I shouldn't tease you.

Although the Nxt Asset Exchange will be a useful addition I think that we are missing something that could be much more useful (and perhaps a "killer" addition) and that is "atomic cross-chain crypto-currency transfers" (some of you would recall I've already mentioned it).

As far as I can tell no-one has actually built such a system and also so far I can't even tell if such a transfer using TierNolan's approach (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Atomic_cross-chain_trading) has ever actually been tested (if anyone has a link that shows such a transaction having taken place then I'd be very interested to see it).

IMO this would really be a "game changer" as it could allow people to trade crypto's directly without an exchange and without risk (beyond having to wait for the "refund" problem that is necessary for TierNolan's solution in case the trade doesn't get finalised).

It wouldn't work fast enough to do "day trading" but for those not in a huge rush the promise of 100% secure transactions with only minimal blockchain fees would be pretty appealing.

What do you guys think?

Good idea, also for marketing. Don't know how this would work though Wink Are smart people besides CIYAM thinking about it?

Isn't Xio's idea somewhere in the same area?

Everyone feel free to donate to my account to help fund something not yet seen in the world of Nxt that will help people get in touch with ease.

Yes, I am pretty much a stranger here.
Yes, I am quite serious.

In the unlikely event that nothing useful (product launch) will come out of this until February 28, I'll send any donation back to the donor, minus transaction fee matching the fee paid in the originating transaction.

Thank you for listening and keep up all the great efforts!

Well, a little disappointing that the interest seems to be close to none. I guess that's my own fault, though.

If you are curious what I want to do and why donating makes sense:
I want to create a person-to-person exchange for NXT, similar to the functionality of LocalBitcoins.com, providing a secure and easy way to trade NXT (for fiat).

In case you have any wishes or suggestions on how you would want to use it and what to expect from such a service, please let me know.

Also, I remember there being at least one bounty offered for accomplishing this task. Are these offers still valid?
Of course the idea itself is interesting enough to invest effort and time, yet neither infrastructure is for free nor do my living expenses pay for themselves once I go full time on this project.

Guys, sorry for the super silly question. I read every post here but when i saw that FC was promoting NEM i ignored every post in which i see "NEM". Now i see that Utopianfuture is responsible for NEM and most of the active people here are in the staheholders' list of NEM (are they really? Anon? Come-from-beyond?). Will NEM have the same features like Nxt (especially transparent forging)? And the only difference will be the community and developers? I know I gotta be missing something and i sound silly but i have to ask. Thank you for the response!

NEM is a clone of Nxt created by Nxt insiders.   So rather than improving on Nxt,  these folks have decided to fork a clone of Nxt.
With a "fairer" distribution stategy (in principle), u used to be very keen on fairness, as I recall.

NEX does not involve Nxt insiders.
nex seems to involve almost no-one. Love your dev thread, btw
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=398461.msg4956801#msg4956801[/i]

So Nxt folks condone NEM efforts because they are all buddies with them.
And maybe because no-one on the NEM project has vowed to destroy NXT ? And we r buddies, u got some?

Nxt folks however take great efforts to criticize NEX because NEX folks aren't Nxt insiders.
If u remember, FCs, you were the one who started this game.....

Italics are  mine, natch.

@eMule: u missed a great chance to kill NXT in the last 24 hours. One good hard dump from u could have started a panic sell, if u dumped hard like u are always promising us.
Are u ever going to back up your talk with just a little bit of action?

OI !, Frictionless, r u promoting NEM ?

And why do u and eMule seem to be joined at the hip ?
1794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 07, 2014, 06:08:14 PM
rofl. i completely missed that thread where i was mentioned like a dozen times

U should monetize ur reputation. If u were a fiat gateway operator for Asset Exchange, u would help the community a lot. I would accept dollars issued by u without any doubt. Think of such a business plz...

Anon136,

If you do consider fiat gateway, iDeal might be something to look into for accepting Euros.

http://www.ideal.nl/banken/?lang=eng-GB

I had asked in this thread earlier if anyone had any experience with it, and a member did PM me to tell me that he used it and that it was awesome.  If you're interested, I can ask him to PM you, also, to get an idea of how it is used.

He gave me this link:

http://www.bitcoinvergelijker.nl/

But I don't speak Dutch so I only got a vague idea of what is said there.

That was me....what do you need to know about iDeal ?
It's way simple: direct money transfer (via a web interface), from your account to merchant account using your accounts internet banking access system. As easy as Bitcoin, but from the banksters....
AFAIK, it's only in NL at the moment, but your first link hints that they want to take it Europe-wide.
Most BTC merchants in NL use it (as well as all NL online shops/pizza delivery/etc) and u can go from "want Bitcoin" to having the BTC on your wallet in 10 minutes.

Gotta run, some other NL members can mybe explain more.
Try Google translate, btw, give u an idea of whats going on....and try the iDeal interface out, see how it works.

Looks......interesting.

How come I've never, ever seen/heard any of the players behind this IPO on the NXT boards ?

You'd think that if someone went to all of the trouble to get a NXT exchange up and running, they might look for help/funding/support within the NXT community. Seems obvious.....

Never seen this bunch of jokers in my life, love the first 10 obvious sock puppets.
Watching with interest, this could be as good as Maxcoin.   Shocked
1796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 07, 2014, 09:31:38 AM

You know, that would not be such a bad idea right now!

If everyone would just bij 0.1 or 0.2 BTC worth of NXT right now, that would really boost the market.
It would stick out like a flashlight in the darkness.

Problem is: everyone wants to buy low...  Sad

Looking at coinmarketcap.com, NXT is currently 15% down over the last 24 hours, most of that being due to the BTC drop, not from NXT itself.
All we need is a friendly whale (or a lot of minnows) to buy in, and we are in the green. Like mikesbmw said, that will make NXT stand out so hard in a sea of red......

@Hacer88...winning with us would be the best option.

Maxcoin killed all the coins  Tongue

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=438150.0

Maxcoin might well kill Max Keiser if the amount of butthurt on the above thread is anything to go by.
Go read it, then come back here and appreciate how bloody good NXT is.

Heres my little pep-talk for today:

Bitcoin is in free-fall and under pressure from government and law, not to mention MtGOX....

The entire crypto market is collapsing, following Bitcoins lead.

Maxcoin was going to rule the world, that seems to be postponed for a while.

2nd generation cryptos.......does anyone see a functioning 2nd gen crypto apart from NXT ?

NXT is in a very good position right now. It isn't tied to BTC in any real way, the basic features work well, and the advanced stuff is coming along, though maybe more slowly than some of us expected. NRS clients are stable, no nasty hacks for a while...

Right now, we should be thinking  "marketing opportunity" , not "OMG, the sky is falling".
I'm going to be throwing some more fiat/BTC into NXT today and I suggest that everyone else follows my lead.

If we can hold, keep calm & carry on, keep NXT on the level while the market is collapsing around it, the potential is huge.
This could be a game-changing moment for crypto, there are a lot of people right now out there in crypto land looking for a safe place to put their investment. It would be very good for NXT if we could make NXT that safe place.

So, can I humbly suggest that we:

Hold. Do not sell, where are u gonna go, into BTC?

Buy. Get rid of that BTC, or just keep the fiat value up by moving into NXT.

Promote. Get the huddled masses running to NXT as shelter from the BTC storm.

Help any newbies u meet.....

Last thought here: If we can get NXT in the green on coinmarketcap, while the rest of the crypto world is deep red, everyone is going to want some, no matter how complicated the client is or whether we can forge on RspPi or not..... so pump, don't dump.

I'm off to throw some BTC at DGEX, come and join in...
