Set target temp to 75 C and set max fan to 70%.

I have 2 REFERENCE (ie LOUD) 480s, and I can barely hear them.

Both running 29 MHs at 75 C with fans under 70%.

maybe with more gpus than one result is better. i only have one. so half of my total watt is wasted on the pc

It's not wasted , your memory and memory controller using it . Set the memory voltage to 950 , 925 , 900 , 880 with wattman. Find the stable settings where your not loosing from the hashing speed,  and you can save a lot of extra watts .

In wattman I can't change voltage (inactive). I use Wattool 0.7. But after I close programm or reboot - I need to change voltage manualy again.
Maybe you know another soft or hard method?

My mods for AMD RX470 8gb gamining X

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B6KuR3PyZ7SBQlhBRWF5QTFCM3M

In folder 4 roms:
3.15WMh-MSI-RX470-Gaming-X-8gb-75w-23.8Mh(GPU-11)(RAM-1650).rom
4.28WMh-MSI-RX470-Gaming-X-8gb-117w-28Mh(GPU-10)(RAM-1800).rom
For-dual-mining-MSI-RX470-Gaming-X-8gb-100w-22.2Mh(GPU-6)(RAM-1650).rom
Original-rom-rx470-8gb gaminingX

(GPU-11) mean to reduce GPU to -11%
(RAM-1650) mean to set 1650 Mhz

I calculate profit:
stock in dual      22.3     125W 60$  +533sia   93KW/month (288rub) 4.7$/month
For-dual-mining  22.2Mh 100w 59.7$ +533sia   74.4KW/month (288rub) 3.6$/month
1100@1650       23.8Mh 74W  50$              56KW/month (173rub) 2.8$/month
-10%@1800      28 Mh  120W 59.8$      90KW/month (280rub) 4.5$/month

Now best profit is For-dual-mining-MSI-RX470-Gaming-X-8gb-100w-22.2Mh(GPU-6)(RAM-1650).rom
If you have power limit - 23.8Mh 74W - your best choice.

If you have another mods - please send it to me - I add rom's in folder.

I'm new to these BIOS mods, is there any rom available for Sapphire NITRO+ 480 8gb?

I took my stock rom and copied the 1750 memory timing to 2000 and it improved my speed from 24MHs to 27.5MHs but every once in a while I get a red error in Claymore Dual Miner, is that normal? Also how do I reduce power consumption, in wattman it seems if I reduce core voltage below 1050 it gets unstable.

GPU-Z is not accurate, not even close to accurate, not at all. My 3 GPU's are consuming 200 W according to the GPU-Z, but in actual, they are consuming somewhat like 400 W. I'm extremely sad with their software feature by the way. Roll Eyes

It refers to the GPU wattage, not the entire cards wattage, but I agree, the true wattage from wall is pretty much double.

What gpu-z reports is pretty irrelevant.
It is only what the GPU itself are pulling.

Ad atleast half that and the real powerdraw from the wall is more correct.

That is right. It is better to use a watt meter to measure the real power used by the graphics card from the wall.

I understand that but it seems like most people are using the GPUZ numbers and I was making an apples to apples comparison, its actually about 230w total system at the wall dual mining eth and sia

and thats a sapphire nitro+ 8gb with samsung memory pn 11260-01-20G
