Fuck this

The only reason I didn't refund my $10k was both cloud hashing and the second Neptunes.

If this is true! Cancel my cloud hashing!

I regret not refunding, I'll never make my money back at this point.

I didn't ask for refund because of the same reasons as yours. Even though it is difficult to get back the refund with both cloud hashing and second neptune, I treated KnC's previous announcements as a positive sign to care for the customers. I didn't expect they will fuck the customers like this!

No space for overclocking.

I expect these are first customer appreciation batch boards and designed with that purpose in mind.

I'm sure the ones heading to boden will be a much better design Tongue
I don´t think so, but they might be underclockable to reach 20% better power efficiency.

The ones sent to customers are simply overclocked to reach the advertised 3TH.

Yep! I stand by my theory that Neptune was supposed to be 6 chips. But some cheap bastard named Sam made an executive decision to save a few dollars when they discovered that the 5 chips could be overclocked to reach 3THs. Nevermind mind that the board components are near spontaneous combustion temps.

No need to wonder why the warranty period is 3 months now.

No: the 6th slot is occupied with the Display-board: so max 5 slots for boxes was the original design.

I think the controller board can handle only 1,5 Th/s +- 20 %

each time you send a transaction don't forget to use a new address, each time you receive one also!

This KfC power arrangement reminds me of pushing 120w through these for overclocked blades back in the day:

Those things got hot hot hot!

KnC clearly planned six modules until recently because they recommended buying two or three power supplies.

How come nobody has  posted an unboxing?

I thought that the Neptune was supposed to be a 4 chip because they said they will use the same Jupiter case/model.

Do you really think they had actually designed a box before last week? Lol. Even the Jupiter case looks like it was designed and built just days before shipping.

No, but I remember them stating that they will use the same model as Jupiter's. They never said separate boxes.

No, I mean like they want to justify the 5 instead of the 6 box setup.
An lcd is useless compared to an additional box.

Look at those temperatures  Shocked

I said that the temp monitoring components were far away from the chip because KNC probably knew there would be overheating issues.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=170332.msg7181832;topicseen#msg7181832

Anyone who shot me down when I said that, please feel free to eat your words!  Tongue

Do your homework before you make an even bigger fool of yourself AVNGR.

Those temps come from the on chip BMR464 PMBus temperature monitoring circuits.

I believe he was not referring to the vrm temps but to the core temps.

Core temps cannot be correctly measured that far away.

You mean there are no dead core chips out there?

Screw the display!

We need more hash power!!

How? You really think they will sell separate boards/boxes? I doubt it.

they will 'make' such they simply won't sell such to customers...i bet they are board specific to the mounts on their current rack mounting PH farsm

the cloud hashing offer works like this ..you cloud hash you don't get a 2nd miner and when we send you a miner we stop (net gain KNC)

so all the taking cloud hashing does is give you hash 'till you get your miner" then that hash goes to knc and the future miner (which is probably
already being made..in case you did not take cloud hashing optioin ..but now that you have goes plop into their PH farm

eventually (except for your 1st piece of equipment) in an ideal world all hash and 2nd miner go back to KNC for use on their farm

works slick huh

as to the above point ..they will NOT sell modules to us once they have shipped neptunes all batches .indeed i suspect they are producint 2 miners
for every one sent to a customer ...the extra miner out the door in this time period will go directly to their PH farm....also any miners after batch 3
will go directly to PH farm....it is win/win/win for knc

get the cloud hashing 'back' they setup for you to hash..get your machine out while likely making 2x as many machines...also the machines that
were refunded..they are also being built to go right to knc and any 'modules' in the future are plug in play int their current rack setup on the giant
PH farm

brillant i must admit

5%-- I didnt notice this before?

Hello do you have any information on what percentage of that is actually hosted miners? What I'm wondering is how much of that represents  KNC mining as a company and how much of it represents the hosted miners for their clients. For example if one half of it represents hosting for clients then KNC hasn't nearly approached the 5 percent as a company.

Just curious about the facts here.

Core temps cannot be correctly measured that far away.

You are right. That is why those chips shown circled in red in the original post are not used for core temperature measurements.
