I purchased a computer product named "Titan" from Kennemar & Cole AB (https://www.kncminer.com) aka KnCMiner.

The "Titan" product they have shipped to consumers is not functional and poses an extreme fire hazard.

I will now explain why the product is a fire hazard and that the company knows it is a fire hazard and has sold and shipped it to consumers anyhow.

The product is called a "Titan" and it's a specialized computing device.  It receives power from a standard ATX computer power supply such as those sold at any computer store around the world.  The Titan has uses a single "PCI-e" type power connector.  The industry rating of these types of connectors is for a maximum of 75 watts.  The problem occurs when the Titan is turned on and begins working.  Each unit of the Titan uses 245 watts of electricity.  This causes the connector (where it is attached to the Titan unit) to melt and when completely melted, the power supply pins touch each other and a short circuit is created with the potential to cause a fire.

245 watts is way more power than can be safely used with a 75 watt connector.

These devices are not certified by any authority nor do they comply to any standards.  They do not have any UL certifications of any kind.

I purchased this product expecting it to be safe to use and to conform to the national electrical standards and rules of Sweden.  It does not do so whatsoever and is a danger to all consumers.

The company 'KnC' aka "KnCMiner", "Kennemar & Cole AB", has produced similar products in the past that have also caused fires and melted due to their high power consumption, lack of safety features, and non UL listed specifications, parts, and build quality.  They could have revised the product to use two or three connectors and it would have worked safely.

Aside from the safety issues, the product is also defective and does not perform the functions it was advertised to perform. 


I can supply more information about the product.  

I'm attaching a picture of the melted power connector cause by this device.  Luckily I smelled burning plastic and was able to turn off the device before and more damage was caused.

I have been in contact with dozens of other consumers who also purchased this product 'Titan' and have also experienced melting connectors, burning wires, non-functioning devices.  KnC is refusing to honor any refunds.


I would like to return the product for a refund.

Below you will find my original sales receipt.  The product was in production for many months and was finally delivered to me three days ago, on 10/02/2014.

me...back in the olden days of march 27th 2014 when KNC was 2 weeks from going from Nun to Porn Star morals wise I got a NO ROI Titan

now taking a loss on a pre-order or alts and bitcoin tanking is one thing...but now it looks like it is a combo doorstop/space heater....ie it plain ass don't work!

anyway...wondering if you are somewhere in this slow leak Titan(ic) lifeboat as well..(kinda of a crowded lifeboat.....don't ya know)

It is all relative....got the knc jupiter last fall 52 coin..also my estimate on what I may get out of Titan. of say what 8 coin..make it holding of 60 coin....so it all evens out in the wash ....again i was forced thru a bank error to be a legal us miner...that 25% off equipment
costs with depreciation and the fact I had deductions for the 4K i shoulda/coulda paid last year 2013 (paid taxes none) and likely not gonna pay any taxes this year either..I'm actually
looking in better shape ...instead of 17.5K I have in all equip last 2 years I'm looking at 12k actual ..again this is depreciating according to IRS guidelines (computer) 5 years...so 2015 2 will be the start of year 3 for me..(wheels w/in wheels) anyway again .it has to go below 200  usd for me to slip
under the waves..which is a bit too close as we speak...

not sure what this means...me being a legal miner with equip deductions and home biz tricks doing ok in all this is ..not good for BTC...but by golly if the IRS is gonna make me pay capital gains if i sell (I've always held so it don't apply) and 25% on what I've mined (paid no tax have equip deductions other biz stuff according to cpa at least in 2013) anyway folks with a lot of equip buys should probably talk to their CPA if this

All that have problems with KNC keep reporting them to Konsumentverket like advised above, if they get enough valid reports
from consumers they will eventually put KnC on their "Black list" and that is not a list you want to be on as a Swedish company.

That was mine.  Ribbon cables were backwards... I think they were mfr'd in error.  The controller side is keyed.  Pictures online show them going AWAY from the controller but the one's I have go to the MIDDLE of the board.  So I had to switch the cable on the cube side so that the ribbon cable first went INTO the cube.  

I am curious now... is that the way it is for everyone else or did I just get a reversed set of ribbon cables?

Although there are some problems left to iron out with the firmware, you seem (from the posts I have seen across the forum) to be mixing up the issues with our firmware issues and the issues pool-side. The majority of pools today are not equipped to handle ASIC miners like the Titan. We can't really be held accountable for issues with these pools causing the hash rate to dip.

Its all the pools fault, didn't you know ?

Personally, Kurt is a good person we should not blame him all about this, he is a contact window between us and KnCminer, also the way he treated us is quite responsible and friendly, also he is not the one who in charge to solve such hardware and software problem, so reply question on the forum, update and follow up issue solving progressing is all what he can do about.

Actually, they take too much risk on operating financial lever, for instance, huge mining farm and APP,
they sure have long term future if they keep original promise mining less than 5% of their selling, that TOS is a very good strategy, but obviously they didn't keep it, so we'll see that consequence, but before that please send me my miner or makea refund me, I do appreciate that ~
