So I'm a small-scale miner... averaging about 1.1 Th/s on this pool.  Lately things have been really terrible.  We're currently almost 24 hours between blocks... what's going on?  I was thinking about switching pools, though I have no clue where to go.  I thought about that new bcmonster or whatever it's called.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

If you play with dice, statistically, you have a chanceof 6  to make 6.

But sometimes it can get you to play 20X without making a 6.

This is the same for finding block, it is a matter of chance. Normally we must find 6 blocks per day, or one every 4 hours. But sometimes we find 3 in less than an hour, other times one in a day.

On a pool of this size, the value begins to be stable, that is the monthly average. And yet it fluctuates a bit, +/- 10% is not abnormal. It's very difficult to know on short period if something is wrong.

Also you forgot to mention that the communication with the captain is the same as the pool luck but with huge difficulty. If something is wrong he will answer once in 10000 times. Good luck

Yes Slush have very bad comunication.  And pool had some problems last 6 mounths (abnormal invalid blocks, low efficiency (slush tell us it was a block wistholding problem...)

But if you look about on year results of the pool , it's not catastrophic.
On the other hand, there are good things about this Pool

If you want  realy stable profits, go to a PPS pool. the fee are little more expensive but it's the best solution... It is impossible to cheat discreetly on a PPS pool

This has really turned in to such a crappy pool.  Almost 24 hours with no blocks and the dashboard shows a 120% day.  Yeah.. 120% crap. Cheesy

tomorrow you might get nothing for 24 hours. I believed slush is messing up with its own miners. I would rather see something stable.

Maybe when the hashrate goes up it is from rentals that are using block withholding "buggy" firmware.
So blocks go into a black hole

For those about to block we salute you! AC->BTC

More than 12 hours, 0 block.
Is Slush outsourcing us to make his own profit?
