it's income, and if it's like BFL...you'll miss that boat. You won't be hashing until its not worth it. Buying a big ASIC is very risky. A month lost hashing while others have been delivered to drive the difficulty up is a killer. Lose you serious income.

This is the precise reason I could never purchase a Neptune, even at the special discounted pricing. At best we're looking 3 months away, at worst 6 months. Even 3 months away.. will 4 or 5TH be enough to break even? It's sketchy at best, and that's hoping BTC value rises.

Minimum payout is now at .05.  Some places in the knowledge base refer to it being .01, but that was changed a long time ago I believe.

It's based on luck, but Slush's pool averages around 12 blocks per day so here's the math:

Your Hash Rate/Pool's Hash Rate * blocks per day * 25 which is current payout per block *.98 after Slush takes 2%.  There will be some variation since the payout per block doesn't include transaction fees.

So if you were hashing at 100Gh/s you could expect 0.062 Bitcoin per day based upon the hash rate at the current time I checked.

100/474653.331 * 12 * 25 * .98 = .062

It's normal since Slush uses a method where the latest shares submitted are more valuable than earlier shares.  If you have disconnects or pool hop, you'll see wide swings in earnings.

Higher pool speed means more blocks, but you'll earn less share per block.  As long as the pool is large enough to consistently generate blocks, you'll see earnings pretty stable no matter which major pool you choose.  It's really a preference at that point and learning the nuances of each pool.

When I first started with Slush about two weeks ago I set the threshold to 0.01 and when I crossed the threshold it transferred.

I use coinbase. Their exchange rate is very nice (usually between mtgox and btce) and refreshes frequently. You get money into your account within 2-3 days of selling them. More reliable than any other place I've tried, and they have merchant capabilities, and are actively listening to the user base for suggestions and making improvements.

do they work with Bank of America? I seem to recall hearing some banks will close your account or get pissy about anything being transferred in from a bitcoin wallet...
