I read it, I was wondering where it came from.

I just saw it in the news feed on the side of the homepage.

So cool to hear it has been 3 years!!!

It makes me wish I didn't lose my original account due to inactivity. It would be cool to go back and see the first shares I had!

Happy 3rd!!!

Thank you for the number.

It sure is the share rate target. Sending results of one's work is the same as sending shares. :-)
Share rate would depend on the speed of my miners only if there were no VarDiff. The purpose of VarDiff is to set a reasonable share rate for each worker, preventing overloading and incidentally protecting bandwidth, yes. :-)

Shares have different values for different target settings, but they're still shares...
I think we are simply interpreting the question in different ways.  There is a target for the number of share submissions - around 20 per minute - but not for the actual number of resulting shares, i.e. submissions x difficulty, which is how I understood the question.

Can anyone answer me this?

On BFG miner at the end of each accepted share it says "Diff 11/2" or "Diff 2/2" etc, the second number is always two but the first number changes every time. I guess it is something to do with the difficulty but not sure what?

The first number is the difficulty of the share that you found and are sending back. the second number is the difficulty that the miner is set to by the pool, the not less than difficulty. the first number will always be >= the second number. It is the same as CGminer.

Thanks, so my difficulty is 2? Does that sound about right for about 2.9 GH?

In other words, you suspect me of posting dumb questions. :-)

I understand the matter quite well, no need for repeating.

Resulting shares should read resulting diff 1 shares in your interpretation, but I've never said anything like that. Never mentioned resulting shares, diff 1 shares or submissions x difficulty. It's you who's pushing those items here.
My question applied to the rate of submitted shares, i.e. those shares the worker submits to the pool, whatever their value can be. It's quite clear from the question itself, I was asking about the target value of share rate for a particular instance of VarDiff, which is quite a common & reasonable question.

Does anybody got smaller reward from last block nr.275382 ?
I usually got about 0.011 or 0.012 and now 0.009. I have 235 GHs working stable all days and have differencies like this.
Pool hasrate did not increase so much.
This VarDiff is really strange Sad  Maybe I will try other pool for next days.

Mine was normal. I have three different devices and it seems to calculate them separately then add to the total shares as each one finishes. Sometimes it takes a minute or two for the full share amount to show up for multiple miners - could that be what you're seeing?

With near the same hashrate (~240) i get from 0.010 to 0.014 per round, which is ~20% variance.
The variation is caused from both: higher difficulty (actually lower share rate) and vardiff:
1. More shares you submit per minute - more accurate results, but the target is 20 shares per minute, so there is some variance compared to 50 or 100, but then that would put more (unnecessary) load on the server
2. When your miner submits more (than 20) shares, because of luck - it's diff is increased, but then when the luck ends you get lower share rate (and reward), which in turn decreases the diff and the opposite.

The end result for a longer period will be averaged
