Payout is on block 120000, and we're at block 117814 now. Any estimate date on when we'll reach block 120000? I also read the dvc will be paid out over multiple days (a month?), so will it be from when we reach block 120000 and then a month, or will it be from block 120000 untill round 31 ?

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the

10 minutes per block, times 2186 remaining, equal 21860 minutes, divided by 60 = 364 hours, 20 minutes, divided by 24 equals about 15 days 3.5 hours. So about 15 days 3.5 hours, and then payouts start, but the DVC will be paid out over multiple days. A round countdown clock might be nice, if anyone could do that (ETA to end of round)

Sounds good, about 18 shares for that. Any objections?

Bit of an early xmas present I was able to port over devcoin src over to bitcoin 0.8.5 with fixes (i0coin latest) and managed to statically link in libcurl so no need for the dll either(sucked doing that btw).. now I need to test and create the qt wallet! How does the test net work?
would you please share some patch or the binary, so we could test it ? Hey man, It looks like the I0coin fork that rsnel did broke the testnet as Im getting errors identical to my devcoin build which was based off of his fork. Since his daemom is already in production im assuming his base is stable and working... so I have a daemom for you to test but whats the safest way to do this? The testnet wont work. It may just work ootb but it may not and I domt wanna mess up the network.

Hi everyone, I'm a big believer (and a large investor) in Devcoin and I would like to do what I can to help it succeed. I've seen a lot of complaints about the web site - I've been a professional web designer and technical writer for over 13 years now and I would be more than happy to work on the site free of charge. Just wanted to check in with the community first in case someone is already working on it. If not, I would start by quickly taking the content that's there now and placing it into a much more visually appealing template. I'm a big fan of jQuery and Bootstrap so it wouldn't even take me a day to just start by taking what we have and making it look way better! After that I'd be happy to edit the copy and continue to build on the site in the future. Just let me know if you are interested Hi. jasinlee maintains the site but I'm not sure about status, never any harm in offering to help. Although there's a lot of info on devtome, as you say it's devcoin.org that people hit upon first. I'm not a web designer but also keen to keep things moving, so just to also put it out there I've pulled together info from devcoin.org, devtome, a video script and some of my own views on a devtome page that might offer ideas for template/page material: http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin_summary

I can't run the daemon since I don't have a VPS, so if I did do it I would have to grab the data from somewhere else.

I have a question about rewards on devtome. Are shares only given to new text contributed?
For example, if I decide to contribute some fiction I've written, will I only be paid once for it? This is what I assume is the case, but I'm confused by the mention of the words popularity and what not - popularity would imply previous work having an impact on...future pay? If someone can explain to me how it works, or point me to a page that explains it better I'd very much appreciate it.

.. I'd like to claim the bounty, if it's ok.
Please post a link to it, and you'll get it if there are no objections to the bounty within 4 days. To everyone, from now on, since we have more admins, if there are no objections within 2 days, that will be enough. If there is a bounty that is out of line, someone should object to it within a couple of days. though I think it's a not so hard task, maybe 10 or 12 shares are enough.
After Weisoq's post: Countdown clock - all it needs is a spreadsheet link, could probably just be added to smeagols dvc price site: Using an old start point for calc: In A1 enter '12/05/2013 21:50:00' (date formatted, this is GMT for ref if want to be specific). I agree that it's not so hard, so I suggest 12 for the first person to accomplish it, and 6 for the second. I can't run the daemon since I don't have a VPS, so if I did do it I would have to grab the data from somewhere else.
If you don't have a VPS you can scrape the vircurex page: https://vircurex.com/which lists the devcoin block number. Because the generation rate is almost constant, and you don't need an hourly update to the change date, scraping it once every three days would be sufficient.

To everyone, I suggest that the first four people who test Sidhujag's client and make an informative post (at least 50 words) get devcoins. First would get four shares, then 3, then 2, and finally one. You do not have to succeed in running the client, if you post what you tried and what errors there were, that's enough. Any objections?

Is it true that node versions need to match to accept blocks? When I run the daemon its failing to accept blocks after initial version message but if I point it to say I0coin which is same version then I can connect and get orphaned blocks (rightfully so). So we would need a few nodes with the new daemon and a mining proxy running real to update with new blocks? Sucks that the testnet is broken!! Kinda confused how to download the blockchain if it rejects based on version.
