Came across http://www.technologyreview.com/featuredstory/520446/the-decline-of-wikipedia/? on Hacker News, I wonder if people would be more motivated to become Wikipedia editors if they knew they could initially compose their articles on Devtome and get paid to do it, so that they they could refine them and get feedback on hem and such before braving the supposedly now somewhat edit-hostil Wikipedia?

I do not support realsolid and his projects, he is a known scammer and just an overall terrible person. That is the reason I have not been on there.

Realsolid?  Seriously?  Lol, that sounds like poop, constipated poop.  And only a scammer would name himself something like Solid or Mr. Honest, in an attempt to add a few points to his struggling rep.  Good for a laugh, though.  lol.

Yeah he coded and opened up mcxnow.com, and various other scams throughout his time on the forums.

No one has put any black marks on RealSolid's trust rating, and there is no indication that mcxNOW is scamming anyone, unless you want to count the chat window or trollbox where people often talk about planned pumps and dumps.

Calling someone a scammer is a serious accusation so it would be nice if you actually had some (ok, pun intended) real solid evidence to point to.  Otherwise it sounds like you just don't like him, which is OK, but a different matter.

I agree seems to be some scammer tag belinging to him whats the deal? Finshaggy dont go telling him everyhing we still want to be able to trade it there...

We know you guys are going to be upset once it gets delisted from mcx, but let me try to cheer you up...

We are adding Devcoin to WorkForCrypto.com - Right now it's still in beta, but fully functional for use with Tickets (TIX) as of this post, but we are working on getting Devcoin up tonight most likely on there

That means you guys can go on there now and post your jobs or services, and as soon as Devcoin gets released on there you will automatically be set up to accept it

This is our second project that accepts Devcoin, so I have high hopes. We are trying to help people earn coins without mining...what better coin to support than one that does the same with Devtome?  Wink

Thanks guys, help us test and go post some jobs!

OCTOBER 26th, 2013 -- We are now opening up our first official project for Tickets. Devcoin is going to be added next to support it through its transition off of mcxnow and encourage non mining coin making like DVC does with Devtome. Spots and Copper Bars will be added after Devcoin. These will be the only 4 coins usable to purchase goods or services. Sellers have the option of cashing out in any of these 4 coins, as well as Bitcoin to encourage non-crypto users to post jobs here and break into the crypto currency scene with no special mining equipment or knowledge

WorkForCrypto.com will allow users to both buy and sell their goods and services on a fast, secure platform with reviews left by users themselves to weed out the bullshit. We will be very tough on scammers and people found guilty of not performing their end of the agreement will be dealt with as needed. Buy and sell with confidence knowing there is security and support in place to protect both parties involved. Support will be available to assist with customer needs

This is not a web shop. It is a way for members of the crypto currency community to use their skills helping others who need something quick, cheap, easy, and of high quality. Our no bullshit policy will weed out the bad apples for safe transactions. You deposit your coin of choice, change to DigiDollars, and purchase anything listed

What are DigiDollars?
DigiDollars – § – is the digital version of $1 USD.
A method of payment worth its weight in both fiat and crypto currency without being either one, yet both at the same time.

Buyers will enjoy the ease of a merged payment method using a coin of their choosing, automatically converted to § right here. No need to put in a buy order and wait, here it’s all instant!

Sellers who are intrigued by Bitcoin and the digital currency movement are now able to break into the community without the need for large, specialized mining computers.

Let us convert your skills into Spots, Copper Bars, Tickets, or Bitcoins today.

The §5 you earn today could be worth double that tomorrow.

Join the fast paced journey that is crypto currencies In one place you can now buy and sell your services to buyers from around the world 24 hours a day 365 days a year;

let us help you get the exposure you have always desired

Terms of Use
We will not allow anything against any international law.

These include, but are not limited to computer hacking or network disturbance, drugs, weapons, tobacco, and any other form of illegal paraphernalia of any kind.
This rule will be very strictly enforced with a very firm no tolerance policy.   One strike you’re out and will be reported to relevant authorities.

WorkForCrypto will allow users to both buy and sell their goods and services on a fast, secure platform with reviews left by users themselves to weed out the bullshit.
We will be very tough on scammers and people found guilty of not performing their end of the agreement will be dealt with as needed.

Buy and sell with confidence knowing there is security and support in place to protect both parties involved.
Support will be available to assist with customer needs.

By using this site you consent to abide by the above rules,  expect the full force of the law to prosecute any offenders

Thanks, we are working hard to give you guys a safe, stable platform to use and earn DVC. Yea, we are still in beta and had to wipe all the jobs when we moved servers just to start fresh. No more job wipes, hopefully. Wallets are all on a separate server, though, so no worries with funds

Yes, you can still use DVC at iGotSpots.com/other to get to the precious metals exchange

I really dig this platform...reminds me somewhat of fiverr but with cryptos. Will make an account later today.

Now, as kind of an open-ended discussion question: Would it be feasible to somehow link DVC bounties to this site? For instance, to create jobs from the Devcoin foundation for the sake of making big-ticket projects and bounties more visible.

Yea, you can do anything. You can also request jobs to be done instead of just posting your skills if you are looking for something specific done

This is a great idea and ive been thinking this too as ive been working hard at converting noobs who had false assumptions which led them to believe devcoin is not worthy of a look... so ive had a hard time to look up bounties and such but the wiki sucks to describe it.. but showing maybe posts on there via jobs may help and we would need it to be via a devcoin hub so it has its own space.. ppl like organized chaos not a bunch of jobs to sift they they want all jobs via category to come by default mayne thru user preferences or even data mining based on historical requests or something..

I use gmail, it isn't even in spam folder.

Why do you think it is necessary to confirm email?

This policy is outdated, it isn't a problem to register a one-time email on sites like mailinator. So it doesn't confirm user's identity in any meaningful way.

Just let user to pick password and skip this confirmation step.

Or even better: enable oauth/openid authentication, so that people will be able to login using their facebook, twitter, google accounts etc.

We changed it to that. That's why the reset. Just start a new account and you can make your password anything when you register. We haven't sent the email out yet, it's coming tonight

DVC is not getting delisted from mcxnow any more, People are actually supporting it there now
this message was sent out directly to over 3,000 people this weekend all over the world: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1peyx7/holy_shit_this_changes_bitcoin/

but this is still awesome news about the DVC jobs.

I thought I would let everyone here know you already know me, PM to ask who I am. If you want to guess go ahead, just make it fun.

And my negative trust is for reviving a DVC thread, not for doing anything wrong.
