I once read an article that says bitcoin is used as a payment transaction for terrorists and hackers. And maybe you guys in this forum also already know it. But here i want to convey my personal opinion in that matter. I think that internet and bitcoin interrelated. Many terrorists and criminals use internet .so also with bitcoin which used perpetrator However, despite all these issues, do people make concrete efforts to ban the internet? No. Not because removing and banning Bitcoin is difficult, but because the internet offers more positive than negative. For the same reason, we have to be more careful about our mindset for Bitcoin, because much evidence has shown that Bitcoin brings many positive, if not more, effects than the internet. Internet and Bitcoin are just devices that 'bad guys' and 'good people'. Fortunately, the world is filled with more people in the 'good people' category.

criminals?? who were the criminals then?? the one that violates the law?? sad to say the law makers were one who violates it.. so in connection with bitcoin.. bitcoin = money.. criminals, terrorist, priest, imam, pastors, male, female, old and child i mean everyone can use bitcoin with regards to its purpose it depends on the one who used it.. that's all thank you.

criminals are using any possible way to commit crime, same is about terrorist, when we have new ways of communications, payment, shopping and etc. new ways of commiting crimes also emerge, that's life.

BItcoin is a very expensive coin. People of all over the world uses it for its facilities. We can use this coin at many place though there is no government relation with this coin. People can use it for transferring money to one place from another and they doesn’t have to pay any extra taxes or fess or have to pay a very low fees so that there is no doubt that any criminal will like this coin.
Though there is no internal investigation for the people who wants to be a member of this service so that they can easily can deal with it but will you through the responsibility to a gun if someone rough use that? As same bitcoin will not take the responsibility if anybody misuse that. You should use them at the right place.

Yes, Bitcoin is being used by criminals all over the world. The other day I even read an article about ISIS using it(Not sure about it's credibility). It has no boundries, it's not restricted by land or territory and is untraceable thus they use it. Yes you are right it all depends on our mindset, but more of the rich people are being affected by bitcoin thus there has been bans on it in many countries.

The amount of BTC used for illegal activities is estimated to be over 1 Billion Dollars however the amount of FIAT currency used by criminals and tax avoidance in off shore tax havens runs into the trillions of dollars.

Lets put things into perspective here.

One thing we must take note is that criminals are every where and they use every means they get to satisfy their business needs. Also we must remember that this is the internet, digital currency, where anonymousity is high and tracking can sometimes be very difficult so they can use Bitcoin as a means of their business but that doesn't mean Bitcoin was created for that.

Yes, Bitcoin is used by criminals. But let's not forget that fiat is also used by them. I read that criminals are also using gold as a means to offload their illegal activities as well. Whatever form of 'currencies' are used, they will be used, by some, for illegal reasons. I also read, that some criminals are turning towards privacy cryptocurrency - for obvious reasons.

I find it a little bothersome, when certain people, label BTC, etc. used by the underworld. Because fiat never was/is!

Bitcoin started off being used with Tor to buy/sell weed and porn and then it attracted gambling
dens and if you look at the adverts in many of the posts here then you can see where I am
coming from.

now just before Bitcoin really started to take off we were getting lots of wanacry viruses turning
up all over the place (PLEASE DO GO BACK AND CHECK THIS) and the decryption key needed to
get your data back was all being sold on the Tor network and the ransom money was paid in Bitcoin

This is only half the story and I know that many people would like to dispute this but I and 99%
sure that it was the Tor client software that was one of the methods being used to spread this virus
and this had nothing to do with back door browser exploits and before then I was one of Tors
biggest fans.

Yes, anything related to it or in money is used by criminals and illegal things too. It depends on people on how they will use it. Bitcoin is exclusive for and can be used anything and anywhere. Definitely, it can be used on bad things too.

I see a lot more criminal activity around credit cards than any other payment method.  Credit cards are easily stolen and numbers are easily purchased at carding sites around the web.  BTC, on the other hand, is far more difficult to steal.

Thieves and criminals, as you may figure, are generally a lazy group. They do illegal things, for the most part, because it's much easier than doing things the [legal] right way.  So criminals go out and purchase credit card numbers (which afford them a satisfactory amount of privacy) and use those on websites instead of BTC.

I didn't hear that yet,  because all I know bitcoin is legal.  And not allowed to people who facing criminality.  If criminals will allowed using bitcoin I think its bad to the economy and more lives will begin broken because of the influenced of criminals to other people to do things that really bad to the community.

i totally agree if they say bitcoin is been used by criminals but that aint the cas cause bitcoin has brought more than bad,and just because some people are using it for the wrong reason doesn't mean errybdy does?.

Remember that bitcoin is digital currency and anyone can earn it and can buy it anywhere. So there is no doubt that criminal can't used bitcoin. Everyone can used bitcoin. It depend on the user of bitcoin that for which purpose he want to used their bitcoins. There is no mistake of bitcoin. I advise to all people to used your money for good work not for bad. As we all need development and that will be possible when we can create peace through out the world.

Anything can be used to crime. If you buy a gun and use it to shoot someone, the gun is just an instrument but the shooter is the one who killed. This would be different if the gun is given to a police officer to protect citizens.

Point is, anything is determined with intentions. Regulating bitcoin could help avoid malicious use of it.

Of course it is as is fiat what's the difference ? unfortunately crypto would be a great way to clean money and it was also used in its early days on silk road and the dark web and still would be.
