is not 230 million of shares too much for9 hours?? something is wrong with numbers. Edit: i think shift numbers are screwing the rest I also find it unlikely. 307e06 shares in 10 hours would mean 36626.53 Ghps, which is a bit above the estimated 850Ghps for the pool. Also 150 x D for a round would be an all time record - the largest I've seen is about 9 or 10 x D. I wouldn't worry too much, DrH will have it fixed soon enough.

Some database issues during the night. Everything running correctly again now, but I need to clean up some data, like who created those 2 blocks.. and also one block looks like it had 63 TH/s pool hashrate. I'm not sure if one of you guys was testing an ASIC, or..? But seriously, I will clean up the things that look weird. Although the two blocks may have to be attributed to "BitMinter" as the info on who created them may be lost. On the upside we were mining blocks while this was going on, no downtime there.

Cleanup complete.
There's a big shift (score 2.0, vs normal 0.1) which I just have to leave like that so everyone gets paid properly for mining they did last night. In an hour it will be out of the last 10 shifts.
Also I don't have the info on who created 2 BTC blocks and 2 NMC blocks, so they are attributed to "BitMinter".
Sorry for the inconvenience and the weird looking numbers this morning. That's not what I like to wake up to. But it was fairly quick to fix and mining was running non-stop all night.

I think the answer is no, but is there any reward associated with generating a block (aside from pride)?

I guess you're right, because where should an extra reward (aside from pride) come from on a ZeroFee-Pool?

I guess you're right, because where should an extra reward (aside from pride) come from on a ZeroFee-Pool? No, there's no reward, it's just for statistics. I guess a reward could be taken from donations, but they are pretty slim already. I may add a reward at some point. I am certainly going to add more statistics on the website.

According to the efficiency rating in my cgminer (84% currently), it doesn't look like BitMinter supports rollntime. Have you considered adding support for it?

+1 mining @ windows with 96% efficency.... (2x 7970 mining @ puppetmaster, now on bitminter) -v 1 -w 256

+1 mining @ windows with 96% efficency.... (2x 7970 mining @ puppetmaster, now on bitminter) -v 1 -w 256 The relevance is that E: can easily get into a few hundred % or even higher with rolltime support ... which also is of great help to the pool itself - it immediately reduces the getwork load ... drastically https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=28402.msg1111327#msg1111327

use backup pools . Every mining setup can use backup pools (execpt guiminer) just a backup pool with 180sec mining time and then back to the main pool, and just use pps pool for backup

A failover server setup costs money. Bitminter is, if you want, a free pool that even pays out tx fees. If you want Doc to be able to afford more servers, consider setting or increasing your donation ratio. Im pretty sure for the first 6 or 9 months of running this pool, it has cost Doc as much, if not more than he earned on it, while spending god knows how many hours on it.
Another point Id like to bring up; over the year Ive been mining here, bitminter has been remarkably stable. The hashrate has increased 10 fold over the past few months, so its probably not so bizare there are more frequent issues now, but I can probably still count the major outages on one hand. Not bad for a single server, free pool.
