Merit & new rank requirements

what i don't get is why people want to rank up. or why the do want to rank up so desperate.

don't answer me with this: its easy for you, you are a legendary member.... blabla.....

do they just want a higher rank because the possibility the join a signature campaign is higher and the payout is higher too?
or do they think that their post are more important because of their rank?
or do they need the rank to feel better?

Most members probably want higher ranking for the better stakes in signature campaigns. And of course when you're a newbie you want to be able to post images and don't have to wait for 12 minutes in between posts.

The first is also a reason why present high ranking members don't want others to climb up. More competition means for them less pay in signature campaigns. That's one reason why the Legendaries and Heroes are so enthousiastic about the merit system. No more competition, ever. Heck, they don't even need trust system abuse anymore to eliminate competition.

you have a bit of a paranoia problem pal.. I am offering to level people up, other higher ranked guys are either taking part or giving me merits to give away..

we just do not like shitposts.. that's all it is - no big brother, no trying to steal from your earnings.. just that we want a better quality forum like we used to have

I like this new ranking requirement.  It helps cleans up the forum.  I think many people will be stuck at Full Member rank permanently due to this change. 

it is good , but it sucks for Full Members like me who are so close to Senior Member and dont just post junk... but oh well i guess its best for the community, just wondering how long it will take to get 250 merit when ill probably get 1 merit point for like 10 good replies of help......

We do have the same thing in mind. I think Theymos just made the activity count same with the "Merit" just to be fair for those who is going to rank up. now we would just make post and get sMerit from forum members. really sad about this. I wish Theymos could see this.

0.01 a week x 2 accounts is $200+ thats a lot of money in some parts of the world.. these People are proper butthurt now..

no more shitposting.. it will get worse as well for them when campaigns just demand X merits to join!

You got it wrong. It are the Legendaries and Heroes who are making livings out of posting. And the less competition they have the more living they make. Besides that it's an open secret that the long standing members have already gathered dozens of alt accounts on this forum. That's how they make their living. Merit system is status quo and that means nothing will change. Which is they way they want it, in their privilaged position.

I think you hit 3 nails on the head and you answered your own question. A nice retorical one? Nobody likes to be a ‘newbie’ although I learned the most in this period. It all is a learning experience as it is an earning experience too....

yes, the newbie level is hard. but it is only hard because of other members with higher levels just tell them "shut up newbie" if they have an other opinion and can't help themselves with arguments.

Other Legendary members will know exactly how they will use the merits: Agree with the spam post +1 merit, disagree with the contentual post 0 merit.

What if  a group of bounty hunters create a group somewhere else e.a. on facebook and they will use/exchange  their extra merit with each other? would that be possible also? if yes then their existing merit could have easily doubled? am i right?
