But isn't there a limited coins at the end?!!  there should be a xx time of idl for coins in wallets or inactive wallets :( this will suck if people keep loosing coin, it will crash the system at one point!   :-\
There is no other way. No one should ever take control of other people's coins even if they are idle.

No harm will be done to the system. Bitcoins are pretty divisible and everything will work fine even if more than 99% of all the coins are lost.

.... and it's possible to make them more divisible if somehow so many were lost that we needed even smaller denominations than a satoshi.

And if you switch to another pool you will prob just jump into another bad luck period there.
Wait it out. I find any bad luck at deepbit is made up by the pool's uptime and stability.

If you want a 1.6% fee PPS, try MEI.DEEPBIT. You won't need to be concerned about luck that which shall not be named again.

Is there a difference between f1 and f2.deepbit.net? if i use one over the other would i get less stale shares? where are the locations of them?

If you use cgminer, and load balance both 'pools' (f1 & f2),
you can use the 'java API stats' command to work out which is best for you.

It obviously depends on where you are and your network to determine which is best
(i.e. different for everyone)

does just pinging and judging the response time tell (thinking that farther away, more stale shares...)

but f1 doesn't ping ,f2 does

I recommend using pit.deepbit.net because it can be changed by us to point at the most appropriate location.
If you want to set up a internal failover for your miner, try setting pit.deepbit.net as primary and f4.deepbit.net as backup.
f4.deepbit.net won't respond to pings, but usually it's located farther from you.

Recent USD/BTC price spike caused increase in payout volume, so our payments wallet sometimes was low on BTC.
Don't worry if your automatic payment didn't worked, it will be resubmitted at the next hour, after adding more BTC from the offline storage.

Yes it has. But since we mostly do not mine at other pools we dont realize when they have bad luck...
Thus switching pools often just leads to more mediocre results. Plus diff is so high get used to this type of variance.
4,000,000 share blocks will become ordinary while before were somewhat rare. 10,000,000 will also show their ugly head more often.

Deepbit and/or Tycho,
I really wish you guys would keep up on the luck stat's meter.  Of course I don't blame you for not putting it back up with this rotten luck.  But I still refer to it allot.
Thanks,
Sam

I like it also.

I also liked the "Difficulty history" on the right hand side which stopped being updated a long time ago... which is a shame
because it showed "luck" over a longer period of time with each diff change.
