ShakePay has removed non-EU countries from its list of supported counties, complicating Dash debit card prospects for users outside of Europe.
On Monday, ShakePay, a prepaid debit card provider which allows customers to load their cards directly with Dash, announced it had updated the list of countries supported:

I really wanted to like ShakePay for several reasons - they take Dash; they had a presence in Montreal Canada, the raccoon logo is cute.... I wrote them a few months ago asking about some signup details (I'm Canadian) and they did not reply at all. Odd stuff - perhaps we'll hear more details eventually.

Too bad indeed. As a European I would have liked the option to use a debit card for purchases outside the EU. However good crypto currencies are, they are limited in where they can be used. Maybe we all can find more partners to use for debit card options.

Free Dash Conferences in Venezuela to Begin in September


A series of free Dash-themed conferences is set to begin in Venezuela, starting in September.

These conferences are intended to be beginner’s conferences, introducing new users to Dash, a cryptocurrency of which very few in Venezuela are aware. The first of 12 monthly conferences will be held in Caracas on the 19th of September.

Dash Budget Proposals and the Problem of “Extra Money”

This calendar year has seen the value of one Dash begin at $11 and skyrocket to as high as $407. Even more dramatic have been the past two “Saturday Surges.” On Saturday, August 19 the value of Dash went from $225 to $290, and the following Saturday, August 26, it went from $315 to $407. Clearly, price volatility is currently the norm for Dash (as it is for many cryptocurrencies).
