correction : "algorithm" : "marucoin"

still get error "[14:42:11] Error -11: Building Program (clBuild
[14:42:11] Error compiling program for search.
Frontend phase failed compilation.

sorry i just noticed now..
i found two builds on this topic that work but they fail soon after with a display reset.
i'm using an older version of the Radeon driver too..

edit:
hmm i though i was using "13-12_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql.exe"
but my c: drive AMD folder (for cache'd drivers) is showing.. "AMD_Catalyst_14.3_Beta_V1.0_Windows_B22_March12"
so i might have that installed..
my device manager says,
- 12/6/2013
- 13.251.0.0

maybe i should try a different one i don't know and i doubt that is the problem anyway.
i've mined for ages with various drivers on all other coin algo's and it always works just fine so..

yeah I don't think its your driver... it will be something in the config, or the build itself.

Newer drivers are kind of borked...anything past 13.12 tends to suck or not work 100% (except for primecoin mining with primegpu using windows)

ya i agreed ..i came to that conclusion way back from trial and error testing myself.
some of the more older drivers were always a bit quicker for hash speed wise too.

if anyone cane post their marucoin settings thanks..
i don't have much experience with x11 mining etc i tried that one for two hrs a while back
and i don't know what to expect hash wise for x13 type of coins for a 7950.
so far i have been able to run long periods of time doing about 1.02 MH/s with a powercolor 7950 overclocked.
is that normal ?

what about that build badman made with the difficulty setting should we be using it ?

i' basically poking around in the dark and these new miners crashing like crazy
and they don't ever crash on me for scypt-n or scrypt etc.. they are rock solid !
on x11 i also no matter what have not seen one hardware error and i am getting crashing on settings when
running usage of like 90 to 95% so i am not pushing my card very hard before the driver resets Sad

help anyone ? are you mining maru also and what are you use for settings etc ? what hash rate you getting ?

I don't mine maru, but based on past experience mining "cpu" coins, some pools need you to adjust a higher diff to your workers to avoid getting HW.

Setting wise, maybe try my x11 batch?

-I 19 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 16384 -w 256

or

-I 13 -g 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 -w 256

Just add the correct kernel flag and play with core and memory clocks, I found out x11 likes higher clocks than scrypt.

Can't give you any hard settings at the moment as I am at work.
In general thread-congurency doesn't do anything for most cpu coins
For optimization you can mainly play with the clock settings on your card
Sometimes it helps to use -g 2 but not always
X 11 and some of the other algos will never push your gpu as hard as scrypt
So expect to see lower gpu temps for some
As far as my version of the miner the main difference is using algorithm to set the algo instead of kernel
Everything else is just differences in how the new kernels are added
It should produce the same hash rate as phm's build

i was kinda thinking what you said mostly but thanks for posting badman
and for the miner compiled up Smiley

please do post back if you try out Maru though if you have any tips or tweaks eh.

i have worked on my own miner mods before for Quark / Securecoin in the last year
and i compiled them on VS2010 and MingW .. i did a LOT of testing etc
So i think i am somewhat familiar with most of the algo's Maru is using (besides the two new ones)
I've just never had a coin reset my AMD display driver a lot like this eh.
and i was curious about tuning your mod with the  --difficulty-multiplier setting
i have been running with it all day with it set to 1
and i occasionally get a driver crash but i have cgwatcher auto-restarting the miner for me Smiley
Still toying with settings but i can go long periods with out crashing and my 7950 is working good at 1.02 mh/s
not sure if that is good or what.. no HW errors and WU is 0.015/m

on my version you only need to use --difficulty-multiplier if the pool is rejecting your shares
with this i get around 1.6mh/s on each of my r9 290's

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
sgminer --algorithm marucoin --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 1300 -o stratum+tcp://maru.suprnova.cc:3131 -u badman74.1 -p x -I 20
intensity may be a little high.... play with clocks and intensity till its stable
sometimes lowering intensity actually helps

ya i try and look at quality and performance and not just pushing for the highest hash speed.
i think maybe my 1.02MH/s on Maru is a good average speed then considering your 290's higher stream processor count.

my stock (3.9ghz) Intel 4770k cpu using the x64 miner is getting a bit more than 130kh/s (using 6 threads of 8 leaving 2 for the gpu to run)
which i should add that i am using my Intel cpu's integrated gpu to run my windows desktop not my Radeon.

Can you please post sgminer.conf for R9 280x for twecoin

Thank you

11MH/s for the 290 mining twecoin, seems a bit low, my 280x does 10MH/s

100% rejects "low difficultly share"

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

EDIT: seems to be working now. I created a bat file and added " sgminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum1.suchpool.pw:3335 -u x.1 -p x -I 12 -g 4 -w 320 --algorithm darkcoin "

a driver issue..
switching to amd_catalyst_13.11_betav9.5 has made it faster and more stable for me on Maru

Glad you sorted it out mate Cheesy

I find 13.11 beta or 13.12 to be better than newer drivers for r9 280x and 290 cards.

Just another thanks to the developers who open sourced this miner,

I sent you some coins

difficulty of sic is dropping !!

i did some tests on bitquark also just to see how it holds up on that

got best results on my single 7970 with g 1 w 264 clock at 1200 memory low like 700 and intensity between 18 and 20 seems to have similar results

one question,  BlueDragon747 the developer of blake coin and I (the dev of Photon a blake 256 clone)  are working on merged mining of our coins

I recently added the auxpow to the photon source code here https://github.com/photonproject/photon

I am currently learning about how namecoin and bitcoin are merged mined and built test coins to run locally and try to figure this out

Since the dev team who built this miner seem to really know your stuff i was wondering if you could recommend any good resources on merged mining

Obviously blake 256 is a bit different than sha 256 d however i have never until just recently started to learn about how pool mining works in the code,

Ive always just studied the code of the coins and a little bit of hash algo;s + projects like yours that port to cl

Wondering if you have any ideas or thoughts on merged mining of Blake Coin and Photon

I am sure you guys are familiar with at least Blake Coin since it is well known but the forum thread is here

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=306894.0

My coin photon 's thread i doubt you heard of but it is here

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=478136.0;all

check it out if you ever have a chance , i know your past time is mining cpu coins with gpu's but the merged mining could be a new challenge

one i am struggling to solve !!

Check out my coin Photon
Merge Mine 5 other Blake 256 coins - 6x your hash power  https://www.blakecoin.org/

The obvious choice is not always the best choice.

Can someone post an alternative link for the windows build of the following? I need the one that has MARU kernel support
