India is in a comfortable position to win this match. Srilanka is all out for 174 runs in their first innings they now trail by 400 runs and it is now not possible for them to chase those runs. Ravindra Jadeja's performance in this match has been outstanding. After scoring 175 runs he also took 5 wickets in this test match.

I am watching this match and after end of two days feeling very bad because I was not expecting tactics like this from PCB they have done terrible thing and prepare a slow pitch for very entertaining and most wanting series opener now most chances Australia is also going to have some good batting practice in this match because there is nothing for bowlers it's all on batsmen they have done mistake and give wicket.

Lets see how Australia is going to respond and how the pitch will behave in the final two days, i am expecting the ball to be spinning and i am not aware of the spinners in the Pakistan bowling line up. How Australia will respond and how fast they can score runs will determine the fate of this match.

In the other match between India and Sri Lanka, India is in a comfortable position and Sri Lanka needs a good partnership even to avoid the follow on.

476 enough to win the match in the first inning? Sure, if Pakistan can bowl them out early. In order for Pakistan to win this match, they need to take 20 wickets from Australia. The match might be drawn. It is an unbelievable slow pitch, so the question is whether Pakistan can bowl out Australia when Pakistan scored 476 and Australia has a much stronger team. The Aussies blame the pitch. It is true that pitches are slow, but in the subcontinent they needs to adopt a new bowling method.

The only way pakistan can win this match is by taking early wickets in the first session today and putting pressure on Australians. However, this does not seem to be happening at the moment as Australians have survived the early spell from shaheen Afridi and are 56 for no wicket loss.

I can see this test match moving towards a draw unless we see some magical bowling spell from any of the pakistani bowlers today.

If you say that Australian bowlers performed badly because they were afraid and conscious about the security, I think it is straight-up dumb reason. That's probably the best security that could ever be given to a cricketing team. I think the actual reason is the pitch doesn't seem to be helping the bowlers at all. Right now Pakistan has declared their innings for 476 runs and Australia is still trailing by 471 runs.

Just wait for Australia batting before we make a final judgement about this test match. The pitch is grassless and there is hardly anything for bowlers in this pitch. I am very much sure the Australia will score as much runs as Pakistan scored. And not to forget clouds have already approached Rawalpindi cricket stadium.

Pakistan must learn from India on how to make pitches. In India, pitches not only support Indian batting but also have enough space left for bowlers. See current match of India SL, India scored 574 runs and was also able to outclass SL in bowling. Though Australia can't be compared with SL as they are one of strongest team in test but still Rawalpindi test is boring mainly because of pitch.

I think actually Pakistan did this on purpose because they knew they did not have the right bowling combination or good enough bowling power to stop Australia. So they just made a pitch for batting and went for the draw. Good thinking, not a very brave one but good.

In India versus Sri Lanka match India just showed who is in charge and won the match by 222 runs and innings. Actually, I expected India to win but I did not expect Sri Lanka to play this poorly.

Anyways, you are right pitch isn't good for bowlers at all, before the match I thought spinners could enjoy the game while pacers obviously would struggle, but even spinners haven't really got any juice out of the pitch. Now it will be interesting to see Aussie batting, if they also are able to bat this easily just like Pak did, obviously match would end as a draw, but with an older pitch if the Pakistani Spinners can do some magic, the match will be an easy win for Pakistan without even coming to bat again. Even though both the Pakistani Spinners don't have much experience so it will be interesting to see how they play this high pressure match with Aussies.

This is just going to be a boring draw between these two teams in the first test because the pitch is just heaven for the batsman and the bowlers are not able to extract anything out of the pitch. The third day has already ended and the first innings of the team batting second is still nowhere to be ending. Unless something really unexpected happens this is surely going to be a draw. And I think none of the team are stupid enough to suddenly think about winning this match and taking on the bowling

Actually the pitch condition is staying same on each day, which isn't a normal thing in test cricket. Don't know whether the field management has done it intentionally or not, but it isn't the perfect pitch condition to play a test match. The game has no excitement as the pitch condition is in favour of the batsman. Don't expect anything else without a draw of this match. The pitch would have behaved differently from the day two if the pitch has something for the bowlers.

I don't think that the Australians are going to throw their wicket away knowing this is a really batting-friendly pitch. They are just going to bad sensibly and score huge amounts of runs just like Pakistan did. This match is surely going to be a draw because at the end of the third day Australia are still batting in their first inning self they don't seem to be in a mood of getting out.

Virtually no criticism for Lankan team (cause they were facing Jaddu-Ash combo),

Also bowling lineup cause i have seen Murli and late Warney shitting their bed when playing at India so we were expecting too much, only part timers can do wonder for visiting team.

For Ashwin's haters, he's into top 10 wicket takers list in cricket history and tailing only Jumbo as far as Indian cricket is concern.

2nd test is D/N and i suppose Axar is going to make into the playing XI. SL must be praying to Ravaan for draw or something. If SL manage to draw final test then its a big set back for Indian team, critics might come out from their holes again.

Last 42 tests in my recent memory.

Indian won 33, lost 2 (Aus and Eng) and 7 draw. There is a reason India is called final frontier.

Exactly as expected, the type of pitch we were having it was expected this was going to happen, it was just Pakistani fans who were too excited about pak's innings, after Australia's performance on day 3 it's almost sure that this match is going to end in a draw Aussies will easily be able to defeat the lead made by Pakistanis and then even they come to bat they won't be able to win this match from here.

India won by very big margin and this was expected because Sri Lankan team is currently having no good batsman and bowler for facing this Indian team at home, so most chance was this is going to end like this. Jadeja and Ashwin duo was on top with ball and bat with this pant also done good job a massive win for new captain, and now they are going to play second match after few days which is D/N and most chances we are going to have result like this because after watching this first match I am feeling there is no comparison between these two teams.

For Sri Lanka it's very long way to go if they want to do some better in test matches because after retirement of few legendary players they completely fail to bring some competitive replacement and their local leagues are also having not good and strong for bringing skilled players.

After watching first day play there was all intention that Pakistani authorities done terrible job and create very flat pitch which is going to be not helping anyone and this match is going straight forward just draw, so it's happening in first three days we have only 6 wickets with nearly 740+ runs on board.

I check social media many Pakistani players criticizing for this pitch because this was most wanted series in long time and their this thinking is going to hurt this all very badly specially when you are expecting some good audience then you need to prepare some better things and very supportive pitch but here it's completely opposing with weather is also having his own impact hopefully after this now we will have some better supportive wickets from home team and fans will surely enjoy this good and quality cricket after very long time.

India won by an innings and 222 run in 1st test match against Srilanka. Indian batting and bowler performance  was really outstanding. Srilanka batter didn’t handle indian bowler.Few years ago Srilanka test cricket team was very strong but now although new cricketer. I hope Srilanka will recover their test form in next test match.
