First of all congratulations to the Bangladesh team, they won against Afghanistan by 546 runs. In 2019, the first test match against Afghanistan was a shameful loss of 224 runs. Bangladesh cricket team took some revenge. After 1934, no team got such a big win in Test match. Bangladesh cricket team showed that they can play both batting and bowling very well. They showed it to the whole world. Best wishes for Bangladesh team may they play better cricket in future.

Afghanistan face humiliated defeat due to absence of many star players like Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan and Muibur Rahman which is embarrassing for them but no doubt matter of proud for the Bangla tigers because now they are having their name in history books.

But here I have few more things like after checking team of Afghanistan I have feeling they are not interested in RED-BALL which is surely never been good, and ICC now also needs to check things like this because this is going to have negative impact on this format as well specially Bangladesh were also missing their few star players but still they have done good job, but team like Afghanistan needs to think about this can they still interested in this format, or they have to stop this all without any problem because this is completely waste of time and sources as well.

England scored 393 runs with 12 overs left on day first. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the game of bazball cricket and every moment of it was exciting. Stokes made a bold decision by declaring early. However, I believe England could have added another 40/50 runs before the declaration. The pitch seems challenging for batting, so chasing may not be easy. But, looks like Australia will score quick too.

Khawaja played an impressive innings and scored his fourth Ashes century. Usman Khawaja and Alex Carey are playing their part seriously until now.

It was a batting practice for Bangladesh and Afghanistan was not having their best bowlers in this match and you cannot call it as a revenge. If Rashid Khan was in the team things might be different. 

Are you serious? I believe with Rashid Khan the margin would be a little less but we have to acknowledge that Bangladesh performed really well.  I read the cricbuzz commentary yesterday and I will quote that here so you can understand what did I mean. The absence of Rashid Khan must not be an excuse here. It's the biggest win in terms of run in the 21st century (3rd of all time) and has not happened since 1934.

Don't forget that Rashid Khan is a bowling all rounder.

Afghanistan are a young team in Test cricket but we expect more from them as they have won three of their six Tests. Yes, they were without their best player - Rashid Khan - but that is no excuse to be blown away with the bat in both the innings. They just couldn't handle the heat of the Bangladesh pace trio and that is a lesson they will take away. That is all from this one-off Test. Afghanistan batsmen should have shown some maturity in this test but they played below the level of a Club. In both innings they scored 261 runs and also there bowlers were not able to pick wickets. With such current  performance I don't think they will get more red ball matches. This march proved to be a blessing for Bangladesh as there batsmen and bowlers improved there stats.

But here I will say that there is no doubt that the Bangladesh team is coming to a good position. Because Bangladesh team was defeated by Afghanistan in 2019. Bangladesh and Afghanistan have equal Test statistics. in 2019 Bangladesh played only one Test match against Afghanistan which was held in Dhaka which was interrupted by rain and Afghanistan won the match. Then these two teams did not play any test match for four long years. But after a long break Bangladesh came to Afghanistan to play only one test match. But they will remember the tour of Bangladesh for the rest of their lives because no other team has beaten them by such a huge margin in a few years. Nazmul Hossain Shanto scored the runs alone in 2 innings which the entire team of Afghanistan could not score in 2 innings. He played a brilliant innings reaching an impressive score of 126 runs before being run out. I don't understand the decision of Declaration by the English team first of all, even after 8 wickets some 20-30 more odd runs would have helped also not to mention 400 is a big psychological mountain as well. Aussies on the other hand have been literally saved by this partnership for 6th wicket, but still this match looks to me more like a draw so far, if England can bat till end of day 4, it's hard to expect a result against England, but yes first it'll be interesting to see where the Aussies end.

I think in the first match of Ashes series 2023, England batted first and they declared the innings for 393 runs, it must have been a wrong decision for them.
Because Australia has already collected 315 runs for five wickets and if they collect only 82 runs, they will surpass the runs given by England.

Brother, I agree with your words, Bangladesh broke the record of 146 years in Test cricket and created a new record. The last 23 years of the Bangladesh team, Bangladesh has had to bear many failures. But no one ever imagined that such a beautiful success would come.Bangladesh defeated Afghanistan by 546 runs.They were not only congratulated by the cricket lovers of Bangladesh but also popular Indian player MS Dhoni appreciated and congratulated Bangladesh on their Test win. After a break of 15 days, Afghanistan will come to play the ODI series from July 5. This Test win will give a lot of confidence in the ODI series.

I agree that it was a really odd declaration by England. Wouldn’t even surprise me if AUS take a lead into the 2nd innings if their tail enders can hit a decent amount of runs. Like you said though, a draw looks likely.

As long as Khawaja is there on the pitch there are firm chances that Aussies can take lead in first innings. Good recovery from Australia after they lost few quick wikcets. Khawaja, Head and Alex Carey are the main batsmen who helped in the recovery process. From England side they are giving more opportunities to Ali and he has picked 2 wickets in his 29 overs.

The first day of this test match belongs to England while the 2nd day of this test belongs to the Australians. The most probable outcome of this match is a draw unless one of these two team have a batting collapse at any point of the game.
Right now, it seems that batsmen from both the team are comfortable to play but if lets suppose Australia takes a 50 to 80 runs lead and England teams gets into pressure and loses few quick wickets in their 2nd innings, the match can enter into a phase where the result will be possible.

Khawaja is batting very well as batting plays a huge role for Tests. Meanwhile, Australia performed very well when they competed against India. So I would say that Australia definitely has a much lower number of wickets than England.  In this case, England's bowling performance should be improved. No team would want a poor performance especially in this competitive match and everyone is hungry for a win.

Australia had an early batting disaster against England but the medal order batsmen managed to overcome that setback. Especially Usman Khawaja, who came to open for Australia, has managed to take his team to a good position from 123 runs unbeaten. So far Usman Khawaja and Head remain unbeaten on wickets. At the end of the second day's play, Australia is 82 runs behind England so far. Since Australia's batting condition is much better now, it is expected that Australia will end the first innings game by scoring 82 runs behind England by some more runs on the third day.

If they could add at least 30 more it was going to be a bigger difference now because Australia is currently on 371/6 and they are trailing by only 22 right now. If England could add 30 more, I believe right now, it was not sure whether Australia was going to take a lead or not. But now it seems like Australia is going to take the lead. I believe Australia is going to score something near 420 or above. I wonder how England is going to perform in their second innings. It is also going to be interesting to see the score Australia will be able to get.

Australia now trail be just 16 runs and still 2 batsmen to bat. It looks like Australia may take a small lead in first innings and that can play big role. Khawaja scored 141 runs before bowled out by Robinson. It be interesting to see how England will bat in second innings. They must give target above 400 runs as anything less then can be chased by Australia. Let's see whether Australia can take a lead or not.

So far only interesting thing i found in this test is England's approach otherwise this could have been a dead match due to the flat deck.

Poms are exciting to watch when they are batting and surprisingly innovative with their field settings, I've never witnessed such unconventional in-field placements, except in gully cricket.

Kudos to Stokes, McCullum and especially fielding coach Hopkinson.

Before Osman Khawaja's dismissal, it looked as if Australia might set a big target, but being bowled out for 372, Australia could not set much of a target as Australia ended the first innings trailing by 7 runs. However, if rain stops play in a few sessions in this Test, then it can be said for sure that there will be a possibility of a draw.
For now, rain has stopped play on the third day and two sessions have been ruled out so far. But England are wicketless with a lead of 33 runs in their second innings.
