Hi all. Eligeus seems to be down.
So people make sure you always have a 2nd pool setup Good thing I had btcguild. Eligius isn´t down, the system is just in fail-safe mode. This is nothing to be worried about, as all your work will be logged and you will be payed according to your work once the statistics server catches up with the submitted data. It happens every week and it never missed paying anyone. During that time, it is safe to ignore the short-term statistics, as they can display anything. It seems that work in the spondoolies DC is still ongoing and just took some units of mine offline, but i know they will compensate for lost time so no worries there.

In the SP30 we use heat sink per ASIC. Due to mechanical stress issues, we preferred not to use large shared heat-sinks on top of the FCBGA ASICs

It seems that work in the spondoolies DC is still ongoing and just took some units of mine offline, but i know they will compensate for lost time so no worries there.

In the SP30 we use heat sink per ASIC. Due to mechanical stress issues, we preferred not to use large shared heat-sinks on top of the FCBGA ASICs Does this mean there will be additional heatsinks on top of the chips aswell as under the board or only on top of the chips? If the second option, will you be looking at higher thermal conductivity ie. copper heatsinks to compensate for the lower surface area or will you be making the heatsinks with a higher surface area?

Thank you for that information. Could you confirm that the maximum airflow of the sp30 is around 2.3 times that of the sp10? This is the number i came up with when crunching the numbers with those new, higher cfm 80mm fans. Is it safe to say that the combined surface area of the sp30´s heatsinks is around the same as 2 sp10s? By the way, PCBs look nice.

Will ask the technical guys. Here is some info I have when contacting data centers for quote:

Thank you, looking forward to that. Atleast on the airflow it looks like it is around 2.3 times that of an sp10 when you set fans at 90%. However, i thought you were using ~83cfm max. 80 mm fans on the sp30, which would give a maximum airflow of 332 cfm. From my experience, it is always nice to have some additional cooling headroom available, it gives some peace of mind. I also (wrongly?) assumed sp10s had 150cfm max. , as i thought i read it somewhere.

The miner is smart enough to detect if there is communication with the pool. It is not the statistics that cause the problem for it to switch. For example it switched to btcguild about 10 hours ago and then back to eligius and back to btcguild 4 hours ago. So yes there was something going on with eligius - so it's always safe to have a backup pool.

The miner is smart enough to detect if there is communication with the pool. It is not the statistics that cause the problem for it to switch. For example it switched to btcguild about 10 hours ago and then back to eligius and back to btcguild 4 hours ago. So yes there was something going on with eligius - so it's always safe to have a backup pool. I am not advocating to not have a backup pool, that is always nice. When the unit switches it may also be because the server wasn´t providing work fast enough. When you say "eligius is down" that means it is more or less permanently unreachable, which it isn´t, atleast not on my other miners. There might be some reagonal problems though, and connection to some servers might not work.

Sometimes it needs some time after startup, around 3 minutes. If it doesn´t work then, try a different pool in the meantime.

LukeJr has told on eligius thread that the DB has gone mad and that he has shut off the public interfaces untill Wizkid7 comes to help, so yes Eligius is down even if the stats page still shows numbers. Looks like it's back up...
It's not. You shouldn't even be able to connect, since I killed all the public-facing servers until wizkid057 can fix them.

you find FIDOR as quick and efficient? I use the SEPA method to withdraw funds, and has to be said, normally, transfers are concluded within a couple of hours... if you have seen the Kraken official thread, also, they are equally as competent with their customer services as Spondoolies-Tech. finally, the bitcoin world is running smoothly,and it is a big effort by both these companies which has made it so.
