There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Hey, I've been unable to get 2 SP10 to hash at 1.4. The highest has always been 1.35. It is running off a 120V and turbo mode has been selected. I have not made any changes or messed around with voltage since I don't want to thermally seize the miner, since I'm remote to it, that would be a bad thing. Are there any SAFE settings I can try in advanced voltage settings to try and get it to 1.4 as advertised?

Thanks.

You're limited by your power.  At 120V, that PSU caps at 1100W.  1.35 is the best you're going to see.

I was looking into a DS1200 to solve the problem. It looks like it doesn't perform any better on a 120v if I'm reading the specs correctly.

The noise complaints are numerous. So why doesn't Spondoolies address this issue and make an alternate version in a 2U rack size? I'm sure they would sell more units if they weren't so loud.

I thought my cointerra was obnoxious. Unless you have a room at the far end of your basement, this is not for you. I was really hoping to let it vent out the window. It's just to damn loud.

I can't hear the SP10 at all, even standing next to the cabinet.

Hi Zelek,

what size rack are you using?
how many SP10's are you running in the Ucoustic rack?
how's the rack managing the temperature of the SP10's?
are you running the SP10's on 'turbo mode'?

Lastly, what's the price of the rack you have? if you don't mind me asking.

thanks

Neat!

Sadly,  the cabinet is about the price of a SP10 itself =(

> what size rack are you using?
24U

> how many SP10's are you running in the Ucoustic rack?
1 SP10. Plus an S1, S2, Jupiter, and misc small miners.

> how's the rack managing the temperature of the SP10's?
Very well. It has an internal temperature sensor which adjusts the fan speed of the cabinet based on the cooling requirement. The cabinet can handle up to 7.2kW of heat.

> are you running the SP10's on 'turbo mode'?
No, but the rack could handle it.  Due to power limitations I'm running the SP10 in normal mode.

> Lastly, what's the price of the rack you have?
It's expensive.  I paid the list price on the web page, plus customs import duty. But where it is located it had to be quiet, discreet, and secure (the cabinet is lockable). It's in an "office" type of environment and I didn't want anyone interfering with my rig.

I am actually a bit jealous.  LOL
That is a great rack.  A 42U should handle several miners without not being able to keep up.

Sure, I'll try to go in there on Sunday to take a video. It's quite spectacular hearing the noise then closing the front doors with a slight thunk then... silence.

Thanks, that makes me feel better!

I threw about $10k at BFL (3 Singles) which went horribly for me (got them six months later, meantime difficulty shot to hell), and hurled $13k at Bitmine (2TH/s Rig) which has earned me heartache, no miner (they still haven't shipped a Rig, I paid in Oct 2013), and still no refund.

So at least my Rack Cabinet, arrived and operates perfectly, and will continue to function usefully...and I'm all set to run Spondoolies gear, the kind of professional server-grade miners I have been waiting for!

i'm with you on that, unfortunately I bought a cabinet that doesn't quieten things at all, but on the upside, it's 5degrees C cooler in my old mums garage than it is in my spare room  Grin

That cabinet is in a corporate atrium which is air conditioned. Due to power constraints at that location I only run about 3kW in it.

My new cabinet is in my basement, and the cabinet vents out a 150mm hole through the wall. It will be cooled solely with ambient air. It can handle 7.2kW max load. It will house 1 SP10 and 2 SP30s come August... my little Spondoolies room.  Wink

Spondoolies - got miners today and they are simply brilliant.  Thanks a ton.

One question, what are the best settings in terms of difficutly level, etc.?  I ask b/c I am seeing between 6-11% of errors on the shares mined.

Cheers.

I think that 1024 should be ok. Give it a bit of time because usually errors are high at start but they level down in a couple of hours.

They have dropped a little bit, down to 4-6.5% in the past 24 hours.
