All this drama surrounding Trump is just another attempt to shift attention away from the deteriorating economic situation. Yesterday, US central bank increased the interest rates by another 0.25%, and we can expect a sharp increase in the inflation rate (which is already in double digits). In the United Kingdom, the inflation rate has touched 10.4%, as per the Bank of England. Two banks have already collapsed (Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank), and there is a very good chance of an economic meltdown in the next 6 months.

The funny thing is that the media covers more Trump than the actual president.

It's a weird thing to be honest.

I think it is normal in the sense that the media will always cover whatever draws the attention of the viewers, in this case Trump's political career has characteristics which are of vital importance to both the left and the right in the United States.

Obviously, the right is attracted to his charisma and his way to govern. While the left would rather Trump to be politically irrelevant, this is far from being true, so considering the way he ha managed to convince his supporters to commit devious acts, in the mind of the left news channels, ignoring Trump would not be a clever move, since it may imply to leave him unchallenged.

Also, I need to read more about the event at Waco which Trump organized, it seems that the attendance was significant.

LOL, A great topic has been raised. If he is arrested, he may have to spend the first time in the jail of the country he will reach. But I don't know if any country will dare to catch him or not. However, if for some reason the Trump administration wins the American elections, then I am skeptical about the direction in which American politics will turn. Whereas the Trump administration has a deep relationship with the Putin administration. In that case, there will be big changes in American politics. Moreover, Trump's popularity is much higher. However, there is doubt whether Trump will be able to stay in his previous place or not. Some gamblers will not miss the opportunity to bet.

The rush on the US Capital and Trump's contribution to that, should never be forgotten, even if he were acquitted from that.  

This is what I'm totally agree with you on. It was just a miracle that things didn't turn out much worse. The attack on the United States Capitol, I mean. In a less Democratic country Trump would go to jail for his contribution to that. But unfortunately many Americans, I feel like almost half of them, but I would be happy to be wrong about this, many Americans support Republicans. And among Republicans around 60% want see Donald Trump as the president.

Not sure about the percentage, but one thing is certain is that most Americans put their blame on the camp of Donald Trump about the violence that takes place on the attack on the Capitol. Though the rioters create the huge mess, but Trump should be accountable why the attack happened. I have to agree that in a less democratic country, Trump should go to jail and pay the consequences of his action. But Trump eventually overcome the issue, because he can control the government because of his power.

Biden's poll numbers are similar to Trump. Neither candidate is very popular. Kamala Harris is doing even worse. US elections are no longer about which policies you support but which candidate you hate enough to go cast a vote against them.

The secret weapon for an eventual entry of Michelle Obama into active politics is the legacy of his husband and the impact it had in the country during his two terms.

Searching on the internet I see some web-pages claiming that he was indeed quite popular as a democrat president, so it is not impossible she may try to capitalize some of that legacy in the future. Not sure if in the form of a presidential run, but perhaps as a senate candidate.

Obama back then during his first run was himself a surprise candidate and managed to gain the support of the democrat base quite shifty, so I am not closed to some surprise democrat "stealing" the nomination this next year.

 Republican nominees are rather more predictable with Trump around.

Because that would be the worst thing that has ever happened according to republicans. If you watched 8 years of Obama presidency and if you watched 4 years of Trump, you will see the difference, democrats did, I am not even American so I do not have a side in this and I can tell you easily that FOX type of places were disgusting about it.

Some of them even called her monkey type of harsh words, and the first lady with naked pictures online? That was a classy first lady for them. Trumps wife has naked pictures everywhere and a thropy wife for trump and a gold digger, here, is that nice to say? Not half wrong neither and yet terrible to say for a first lady right? They called her classy, what did Michellee do?

Nothing like that at all, and yet they called her all kinds of words because not only was she a woman, but she was a person of color as well, something FOX seriously hates.

I agree, but as I have mentioned in one of my previous posts, Kamala comes with a lot of past baggage. Her candidacy would remind me of Hilary Clinton's nomination in 2016. A lot of people do support Kamala. But at the same time, a there are a lot of people who hate her. Now the worrying aspect for Democrats is that those who support her to the core are mostly concentrated in deep blue states, while those who rabidly hate her are distributed among the swing states as well as the deep-red states. At this point, Kamala is not a risk that is worth taking for the Democrat party.

LOL... are you sure about this? There is no doubt that Barack Obama was one of the most popular presidents in the history of the United States. And he was very much qualified for that job. But what about Michelle Obama? What are her qualifications? If we take experience in to account, then Kamala Harris is ahead by a big margin. And if you are assuming that Michelle will mobilize the colored voters, then don't forget the fact that she and Kamala belong to the same racial category. The probability of Michelle Obama becoming the Democrat nominee is as large as Elon Musk becoming the nominee of the GOP.

Hehehehe there is certainly a bigger chance that it will be Trump. However, this might be a mistake created by his political enemies, I reckon. If Trump is arrested, they will only be making a martyr of him and this might make his run for the presidency closer to a certainty. Trump also knows he can use this case to get more public attention.

Well, guys. It seems that the run of De Santis is already losing steam against Trump and he is yet to announce he is officially running for the position.

I have seen some videos on Youtube suggesting that the gap in the polls between the two politicians is opening wide in favor of Trump. If this continues to be the case, we could see a scenario where he decides not to run for office and remain as a governor instead. This is one example of those articles, pointing out the position of De Santis these days.

I am expecting the gap to grow more even if Trump ends up getting charged in the state of New York.

As for Mike Pence, he would not be even running, as he stands no chance in this race.

Trump was the top pick for 54 percent of respondents, who were asked to choose from a list of potential 2024 Republican presidential nominees. DeSantis — who has yet to declare his candidacy, though he is widely expected to — came in as a distant second pick, with 24 percent of the vote. It’s a slight drop in support for the Florida governor, who nabbed 28 percent to Trump’s 43 percent in a Fox poll conducted late last month.

The month-to-month gain for Trump comes at a time when some Republicans fear support for Trump’s expected leading challenger is faltering.

Of course, in politics, public confidence in political leaders can rise or fall at any time and under any circumstances. When a political leader is persecuted in some way by the leader who is in power, the public will generally support the persecuted leader. Because the biggest thing in people is their emotions. So, if Trump is impeached, his chances of winning can be greatly increased.

He lost the 2020 elections to Biden by a big margin. What the US need right now is some young blood, and not two 80 something guys fighting it out in the 2024 POTUS elections. BTW, why his support is going down like a falling knife? From what I can see, DeSantis has maintained a low profile during the last few months. His rapid decline in popularity is somewhat surprising.

LOL... finally.. Here comes the indictment. And he deserved every bit of it. Donald Trump was indicted on charges that he paid hush money to one of the porn stars (Stormy Daniels), and the payment was made just before the 2016 POTUS elections. Trump allegedly had sex with Daniels during his stay at Lake Tahoe in 2006, but denied it in front of media. The indictment proceedings were put in to action by Alvin Leonard Bragg Jr., who happens to be the New York County District Attorney (the first African American elected to that office). So as far as I know, Trump is ineligible to run for 2024 POTUS elections.

De Santis policies are in line of what most of the Republican party would expect (both the base and the establishment), but in comparison to Trump, he seriously lacks of charisma and does not know howto attack back.

If Trump was not a candidate, he would have the nomination, but that is not the case. Trump has a lot of things to attack De Santis. Haven't you see the video of his campaign, when he was endorsed by Trump? He even dressed up his baby in Trump propaganda clothes. It is an embarrassment.

From where did you got this 60% figure? Because most of the opinion polls I have seen give 40% to 45% support for Donald Trump, with DeSantis trailing him with support from 25% to 35%. DeSantis is still unknown to many of the GOP voters outside Florida. And in due course of time, I would expect him to attract most of the anti-Trump support within the GOP. In case Trump is polling below the 50% mark, it is a red flag for him. Because he is a known figure and it means that a majority of the GOP voters don't want him to be the Republican nominee.

Polls are never 100% accurate. I don't remember where did I get that 60% figure, but I just googled it right now, and here's the latest The NY Times article on the matter(clickable):



Looks like Trump is getting more and more popular these days(among Republicans, of course), and it's possible that the odds on gambling sites for him to be the Republican presidential nominee will be lower in the future.

Well, Donald Trump is achieving a lot in a short time and that is that Trump is a very intelligent Guy, he knows a lot of things and one of the things that I Admire about him is that eventually he knows what strategy to use due to the circumstances that are being presented, so how He manages a large audience and some people who are faithful to him,because he wants to cover more,for me he is not doing badly,although his ideas are Quite radical and strong, he is a very likely candidate to win,if the others are not at the level possibly Trump wins.
