I find it interesting that all over the world we hear more about Trump than the actual current US president.

I think Trump is doing his campaign this way actually, no publicity is bad publicity.

In terms of Trump's campaign, he is superior and he has a name that is always being discussed, but from the past issues when he was still in office, I am not sure he will have many supporters and sympathizers.
Since he started to frequently create controversy, many people have lost their admiration for Trump. It even seems that Trump supporters are only taking advantage of the situation to be able to take personal advantage of supporting Trump.
But I don't know because in the world of politics anyone can be in power and have everything if large amounts of money are issued. It's no longer a secret that money can be a determinant of power in politics.

From a formal point of view, the charges look adequate (you can’t break the law), but the bias of the prosecutors is obvious even to the blind - it’s all part of a big game to keep Trump out of the election (which he will most likely win).
Can anyone remind me how many years he spent in Clinton jail for lying under oath (when the Monica Lewinsky trial was going on)?  After all, lying under oath is a criminal offense and an ordinary person would go to jail for this.

I'm not a resident of United States but I believe that Trump has still a massive supporter even after he ended his term as a president. Trump is a great speaker and knows how to handle masses as we see from the previous election. He has this charm that can convince people to be on his side and I think that it is one of his weapon why he become a successful businessman. He is also strong in all sorts of media in my opinion. He had done things that his previous voters don't like and I think that it will certainly affects his voting power over other candidates.

Ironically, as I already said, the polls suggest that he is gaining more popularity among the die-hard republican voters after he was been formally charged, even if he gets indicted for the other more serious crimes he allegedly committed in order to overturn the election in Georgia and steal classified documents, it is likely the base will continue to support him.

At this pace he will likely be the Republican candidate, but I doubt he will be able to keep the swing voters by his side in the presidential election. If he loses I assume he will go nuclear again and call of people to fight for him like back in 2020-2021.

I find it interesting that even if convicted he can still go on with the presidential race.  Even though thats the case it does seem they are pressing charges they would not do normally, hard to feel sorry for Trump as it seems to be doing no harm to his chances.
  The best commentary I heard recently was that being elected candidate and actually winning overall should be considered separately and thats how I will bet, yes the bet for Trump nomination is quite reasonable but overall I really dont think he can win this time.  Swing voters do really matter for overall success and they dont swear allegiance to either parties bias.

Voters don't really have a choice this time, and they need to chose between a mentally deranged person and someone who is too old and suffering from dementia. Both the systems have their own advantages and disadvantages. Here in India, we have a multi-party system and it is extremely difficult for a single party to attain majority. This results in unstable coalition governments, and frequent elections to the parliament.

Actually, in the United States there are several registered parties, from both the right and the left of the political spectrum and they have only been able to win one or two seats in the House or senate in the past.

What happens is that in America, both the Republican party and the Democrat Party share most of the power, influence, money from donors and attention from the media. If a third party wanted to have attention from the media to increase their votes, it would be very difficult to achieve so, since the channels are biased in favor of those parties and it would not be convenient for them if an outsider won.

In the United States, the president is not a king - except for him there is a congress where you can choose anyone, plus other branches of government act independently. And in general, each state has its own legislation and the right to withdraw (in the event of insurmountable contradictions) from the United States. Therefore, the choice is greater than it seems. The fact that often at the end of any competition there are two people who you both do not like is a common occurrence and it works not only in politics.

When was the last time a party other than the Democrats and Republicans won any of the senate races? Please don't give the examples of independent candidates, because I don't think that any of them could have won without the support from the two mainstream parties. At this point, there are 3 independent senators - Angus King of Maine, Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona and Sanders of Vermont. But all three of them are aligned with the Democratic Party. And as far as I know there are no independent or third party members in the House.

Let me tell you, the entire American political system is like an age-old never ending controversial discussion. Choosing between pizza and ice cream is like choose between two equally tasty but very distinct foods. Having a plethora of political parties ensures a wide range of perspectives and ideas, but may also cause confusion and anarchy.

However, I believe that our group's variety can serve to our advantage. Having many people's ideas and opinions heard in politics increases the likelihood that we'll find novel and radical approaches to the issues we confront. When we have a group of voters that are enthusiastic and involved, we can create bipartisan solidarity.

Legally, Trump can still run for president even though he has been impeached, and if elected he still has the right to take office without any impediment. I am not a US citizen, but as far as I know (I have heard and read in the news)... in order to be a request to serve as a public official, the US Constitution establishes only one rule: not to have participated in an "insurrection" or a "rebellion" against the United States. I'm sure Trump's case could fit that criteria as an independent prosecutor is investigating Trump's possible role in the January 6, 2021 invasion of the US Capitol. case may be suspended during the four years of his term because, in the 1970s, the Department of Justice considered that an incumbent president should not have to respond judicially, not even for facts prior to the inauguration.

But, in practice, I doubt that Trump will still get that many votes in order to be elected president again.
His popularity is not what it used to be and his actions after the last defeat made Trump lose a lot of credibility.
