Clay did you notice that the miner 6.0 gives more hash in the mineru however the pool gives 10 to 15% less real hash. Many users have this problem. After 12 digging there has been a lot fewer coins excavated??

I don't know what is "mineru", sorry. Miner shows "raw" hashrate, it is always more than hashrate that pools show, it was already discussed here a few times. Also some pools send new jobs with big delays often, it cause a lot of stale shares and pools don't indicate them at all (except Minergate).

Please read Readme and FAQ in the first post of this thread before asking any questions, probably the answer is already there.

My fault for "miner" I thought the Minner 6.0 provides more hash than in version 4.0 or 5.0, while the pool shows less power than the 4.0 or 5.0 although in version 6.0 acceleration 2-3%

You can use v4 or v5 if you think that they are faster, but it's not true. Even when I use same version I see 10-20% speed deviation in hashrate that pools show, it looks like pool-related issue, latest versions of the miner are not slower. If you know some pool that shows exact hashrate let me know and I will test all recent versions on it.

any chance that 5xxx cards can be optimized even more?

6xxx cards seem to work fine with -a 3 setting but 5xxx cards just seem too slow.

6950/6970 about 350 to 370 h/s
eg. 5850/5870 about 150 to 180 h/s

Is the problem the 1 GB vram for 5xxx cards?

Yes, video card must have 2GB for good performance.

I have 6 cards (8GPU in total )with combination of 4 X 7950 and 2 X 7990 run fine on 4GB. The virtual memory is larger than 16 GB. Win 8.0.

I've been running 5 290s on some of my rigs with 4GB ram with no real problems, so i'm not entirely sure that's true.  It's got more to do with available virtual memory, i surmise.

Perhaps Claymore can comment on physical ram requirements, i would be curious to know.

I cannot find exact requirements. In most configurations it works with 4GB RAM with any number of cards. But sometimes 4GB is not enough. Virtual memory definitely helps, but if you have only 2GB of RAM it won't work in most configurations anyway. It is something related to AMD drivers and I cannot find any public documents about it.

Does anyone have advice or steps for getting this to work with XFX R9 290s? I have yet to find a stable miner that lasts for more than 24 hours. The best one to date is 4.2

The errors I experience are I'll get threadCL is hanging watchdog something OR I'll come back to my machine and it's been restarted saying windows has created and nothing is running.

My 7950s work flawlessly FWIW.

Would it be helpful for me to start dumping log files here? Is there anything I can do or where can I go to debug issues locally?

try takeing your OC down some. i believe that issue is no longer a problem if you upgrade to 14.6-14.7 beta drivers as well.

My cards are all running at stock. So I should upgrade from 14.6 RC2 beta drivers to 14.7 beta drivers?

set to -a 3 for to decrease power.
4 7950 -a 1 = 625W
4 7950 -a 2 = 623W
4 7950 -a 3 = 565W
The productivity (1030/1500) : 1710kh  a3>a1>a2
Why do so - I do not know?

-a 3 works great and it increased my hashrate too

my 3 x r9 280x vapor -x were running on 1070 hash now they run 1450 hash

Thanks

i use a mixture of 14.6 and 14.7 drivers and the thread hang issue only happens with high OC. so an upgrade would be a good idea lol.

Just started mining XMR and I am getting 1730ish on rig with 5 270's and 2150ish on rig with 6 270x's.  Both using the -a 3 setting.  That sound about right?
