these are great rigs... if you downvolt and clock to  675/300/.95v  you will get much more mh/w   (835watts) and much less heat:
unless of course you get free electric and are trying to heat the room

edit:  another good setting is  750/300/1.0v

your right about the fan,  I blow air in from the back at a slight angle to blow cool air into the fan openings.

flip the fan counter clockwise about 165 degrees

Updated a few things:

Ventilation system = an old broken dryer I got for free, old PSU cable, and $20 worth of ducting.

I should be adding another rig to the other middle slot here soon.

A few extra peripherals.

The KVM switch has been the best item I've purchased by far. It makes maintaining rigs a million times simpler as I just have to push a button on a remote to switch computers. It also has a shared USB slot so I can keep all of my mining software instantly available to every rig.

Here is my setup. I started in January with a single 6950 and it has grown into this 7.5 GH setup. As you can see the fans are currently in the up position so I could take the photos.

The control room is also pictured as I needed to separate myself from the rigs. With everything going it gets tough to stand the noise all day. (work from home)
All the cables are run into this room with a 4 port USB KVM with monitoring on the left monitor.

With a simple API, it wouldn't be too hard to pool mine and have getworks. Although, getworks would probably be at 1 every 10 minutes.
Might be better to setup a MineChain?
