Bitmain, when can we expect a new firmware update to re-enable voltage control? The last update killed voltage control. I'd use the previous Oct 16th if I needed it right away, but the latest firmware is much more stable. With summer coming I'll be wanting to underclock and undervolt, along with many others I'm sure. Please make sure that all 4 hash boards respond to voltage settings, previous firmware only controlled 3 of them while the forth was stuck at 0750.
Bitmain wants to be fail and not profitable our S4's. DONT USE LATEST FIRMWARE ! i am planing to share this solution step by step guide in here when this donation adress reach 4 BTC. Can u explain what u mean about a fix & what it does?? dont be lazy read few pages back. it allows to down the voltage to make the miners more power efficient. The newest jan firmware from bitmain does not allow this, they locked the voltage 0725 so you cant do shit

wouw this is amazing i have got 10 Th (5 S4's) and i cant put more miners in my company, because our buildings electricity board cant handle more good work Thank you Cyper_BLC. Mine can't handle anymore either until I get my power upgraded. I found my limit when I added six (6) S5's to what you see in the picture. The main breaker tripped after I turned on the 5th S5 with the AC going, 2 eyes on the stove top going, the oven going and the dryer going. So, I'm not running the stove top and oven at the same time as the dryer or at the same time as the dish washer at the moment. I turned off some S3's to have all S5's going. I'm looking forward to upgrading the power. I'm doubling the amps. That means my income tax return will be gone once I get back - lol. It's kind of expensive to upgrade power. I'm not sure if I'm bumping up to 400 amps or 500 amps. I suppose it depends on what my present "feeder" (service) cable can handle. If it can handle 600 amps, I'll go ahead and upgrade to 600 amps. It may be good for only 400 or 500 though. It should be done by the end of May or first part of June. There's a chance I might wait on spending that money upgrading power here to spend it on power at my next location. I haven't decided yet. Still doing the math. Big plans, that's cool. That's actually what I am planning right now, starting with a dedicated 200A next week and another 200A in a few months. Then I'll see. Electrician is coming next week but first I have to install some infrastructure (utility pole for the new electric line, underground wires, etc.) It is an exciting project, and with summer coming, wife, kids and friends starting to complain about the heat, I have no choice but moving my miners out of the 4 houses I'm using right now for all of them. 200Amps of miners will be crazy hot , i have only 60Amps and the heat is insane , my 2nd floor gets to 89 degress when its only 50-70outside Damn, that is pretty hot for 60 amps of rigs. Have you been brain storming about a means of getting the heat out. It will get hot during the summer. That AC is going to run non stop.

Man you guys are my heros!! With 1 S4 running, the only one showing me love is ComEd when the electric bill shows up!!
During my winter I was running 11k watts. My electricity company loved me so much that they had to split bill into two. They were not setup to take such high bills for individuals so they split my bill in 2 that their system would take and I paid two bills all winter. Yeah my bills are nuts too bascially 800usd a month. There has to be a way to get a better rate. Move to Washington State or Colorado. There are counties in both states with rates less than 5.5 cents per kWH. Only move if you plan on getting large though.

I would love to have 100 sp20's running in a Washington State backyard with a Barn paying 4 or 5 cents a kwatt. Those sets of 15 sp20's were as low as 5k so for about 40k I could of had a 120th farm running Since Jan 1st. power would be under 2200 a month

I'm surprised you haven't had a visit from the local PD or FBI, electric like that trips them off to grow lights!!
I don't think that happens as much these days because local PD and FBI especially are in cahoots with the NSA and have access to purchases made and websites visited. They would know if grow lights, etc, were purchased on the web or else where through credit card bills and electronic bank records. The 4th amendment is gone. We no longer have privacy.

Sounds great!!! What are your electricity costs per kWH?

Now put your gear on a 13 hour on - 11 hour off timer and you will attract some extra attention.

It's a shame but my fears came true. I did all the firmware updates for my S3's to adjust voltage and frequency; even on the old S3 that are not S3+. I was always leery about firmware updates for the S4 when the S5 came out. I still have the original firmware they came with (File System Version: Thu Oct 16 15:58:23 CST 2014).

We are thinking big and we are willing to move away from family and old friends to take a gamble at preparing better for retirement. It's everyone's prerogative though. You know your situation and what sacrifices you are willing or not willing to take. I support you no matter what. The more people mining, the better for bitcoin. Yes, I jumped on one of the last 15 pack of SP20's they had. They said they were sold out a couple of hours after I made my purchase.

But up here in Quebec, temperatures don't get as high as down there. Hydroelectricity is cheap and temperature is cool, ideal for mining. And women are hot.

Much better than my present 10.5 cents per kWH in Alabama. It will jump up to 12.1 cents per kWH from June through September here in Alabama. I'm totally ready to move to Washington State. I'm waiting for a couple of things to fall in line personally before the move. They could fall in line in the 3rd quarter or may not occur until the 4th quarter. The sooner the better in my opinion of course. Yes, the temperature is nice in Quebec. Hydro is a bit cheaper though in the 3 counties I'm eye balling in Washington State. It's among the cheapest in the world. I'm sure the women are hot in Quebec. However, I'm marred with a 4 year old son. I don't want to muck it up.

Old supermarkets, factories, packing plants etc.
