101  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Knowing about this forum will help more on: December 28, 2020, 02:17:03 PM
Twitter is not good for crypto newbies hence it has full of hypes from influencers and the biggest target will be new to crypto and for sure it will be a biggest mistake any newbie can possibly do.
Basically, some of the public data being shared on that platform can be misleading. It usually initiates FUD and FOMO to investors which influence their investment decisions. Some of them were forced to invest in a project that has an undefined use case, thinking it will result in a high-yield. Besides that, few of the accounts have a verified badge, but can be a complete scam which means any person and information could be unreliable.

Forum like this should be the root  of all knowledge and guidance to newbies in order to have a better crypto experiences and stay out from scams.
Personally, the forum is better than any platform to learn and understand cryptocurrency. As it consists of different details concerning cryptocurrency, like guidelines with investment and personal insights. It eases any biased opinion within a particular matter; therefore, you can conduct good research of the project you wanted to evaluate. Nevertheless, we can discuss the idea of the forum simply with people we usually interact with, like family and friends interested in cryptocurrency. It can possibly make good progress, even bit by bit.
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: did I make mistake? on: December 28, 2020, 01:04:03 PM
Tbh, we can only tell if what you did can be considered as a mistake or not once we get there but I do believe that we will also get altcoin season soon so I have hopes too. As long as you are fine investing the remaining funds you have in Ethereum, I think that's already good and should not consider what you did as a mistake already. Also, Ethereum is slowly increasing now so you can just hold it and wait for the right time.
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Appeal to Everyone to secure your future on: December 28, 2020, 12:23:23 PM
You already said that we never know what could be the price of bitcoin in the next 10 years so it would be hard to encourage other people around us to invest in bitcoin. We can't just tell them that the 1 Satoshi may be worth 1 dollar in the future because it might not happen as well. Bitcoin is a good investment but I would only suggest it to people who are interested, willing to learn about it, and patient.
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When This Scam Will stop?? on: December 27, 2020, 04:52:23 PM
We all know that it was a very popular forum back in 2017-2018.

after that, every altcoin announcement and project was like a total scam, Every new member became a copper member for management of a project.
I mean why isn't there any rules for this?
As a new project emerges, they join the forum with a newbie account. Thus, they choose to purchase the copper membership that allows them to post any relevant details, like a picture related to their project. In such a way, they can effectively present their ideas and objectives to the investors. But remember, it does not mean that the project is reliable. Hence, you still need to conduct an inquiry to validate its reputation.

Every day there is so many coins launched in the market but they didn't even know about this forum.
They are not required to join the forum to promote their project as there are alternative methods. However, it is way better to propose it here because there is a specific section in the forum where they can freely discuss their project. Besides that, they can gain some criticisms and remarks that may help the development of their project.
105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why are there many big us and international institutions investing in bitcoin ? on: December 27, 2020, 03:56:36 PM
Maybe these institutions just needed time to realize the value of Bitcoin unlike in 2017 when they still probably have a lot of doubts about it. But with the time that passes, bitcoin gets more support and we have seen more of them investing in bitcoin this year because it already has more recognition compared to the previous hype back then. And it's good since if there are giant companies adopting bitcoin, others will follow so we will get to see more in the coming years.
106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New ATH, New ATH, New ATH on: December 27, 2020, 02:27:21 PM
Who would not be happy to see that bitcoin is doing great in the market and we keep seeing ATH? I'm happy and excited to see the current market situation because I never really thought that we would reach over $25k before the year ends, but I also somehow feel sad that I don't have much bitcoin with me. But regardless of that, I hope we continue seeing more ATH to come.
107  Other / Off-topic / Re: Covid is fud on: December 27, 2020, 01:37:36 PM
Might as well include receipts where did you get that idea that the covid is a fud, and how can you say that things will be fine on the 2nd of March, for us to believe you. It already shows that this pandemic does not entirely affect the crypto market, but has a big effect on economics. And AFAIK, a new strain of the virus was found in the UK, being more contagious that brings more threat to us. If this new strain continues spreading in other countries as well, another lockdown might happen so I don't know how can you say that just by the first quarter of the coming year, it will already be fine.
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altilly down after being hacked at Christmas. on: December 27, 2020, 12:56:18 PM
That is bad i had some tokens worth 200 usd atleast there and i thought it will be ok to store there because that project was not listed anywhere else,
What an unfortunate incident, hopefully, they will be able to recover the funds and damages with their system. Regardless, it is inadvisable to store the funds in exchange as it is a third-party wallet, which means they are in control of your funds. Aside from being prone to hacks, they can elicit an exit scam.

if they claim to be closing just because of this i would believe that they have done all this intentionally to exit scam.
It could be the potential reason, but as of now, it is difficult to make any statement as many exchanges have experienced a comparable circumstance. You can communicate with them via telegram, thereby, you can see any update about the exchange.
109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happiness in bitcoin on: December 26, 2020, 03:43:56 PM
That's the advantage of bitcoin and for me, we find happiness when we are contented with what bitcoin can offer us. We can say that bitcoin indeed can bring us happiness and satisfaction because we were able to use it in various mean that benefit us. We would not be here believing in bitcoin's capability if we're not happy. However, there are also disadvantages so it's not only pure happiness but I'm really glad I get to know bitcoin because it helped me in different ways.
110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Trading can be considered as Gambling? on: December 26, 2020, 02:52:48 PM
They have their similarities like what you have mentioned but for me, they are somehow on a different level so I don't consider them as something really similar. They both have risk and you either win or lose when you trade or gamble but I guess I can say that we can assume that trading is like gambling but gambling is not like trading. Trading is like gambling because you are risking your money for the aim to earn profit but gambling is not trading because it does not require market analysis and such.
111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Open for bitcoin payment on: December 25, 2020, 05:04:28 PM
It is an innovative idea that may help the development of the business. By implementing it, the customers can purchase a service easily and quickly. Besides that, the customers will have an option of a mode of payment based on their preferences. It is an advantage for the buyer because it minimizes the cost as they don’t necessarily need roaming around to purchase it. Regardless, it is a good start, and I hope the successful result for your business.
112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blocked funds in a poker room on: December 25, 2020, 03:00:40 PM
Really disappointed with the result but I see this as your fault as well since you are using VPN as this is usually not allowed to most gambling sites. It was really sad but supposedly they will return your money since it was probably not stated there TOS  but the problem is that you can no longer access your account and withdraw it. Your last hope is that they feel what you feel this time and give mercy to you.

This could be a lesson to learn to everyone who uses a VPN to bypass such restrictions. We don't need to do this, better to think about the consequences that might happen later and that possibly the lock-up of our account just like OP.
Though OP faults for using a VPN that violates their TOS, the way the gambling site responded (they barely respond) to this issue is kinda disappointing. It's upsetting if OP won't be able to get back his funds but yeah, this will serve as a lesson not only for him but for us as well not to violate the TOS of any gambling sites.
But the OP argues that there was nothing on the TOS that states that using a VPN is forbidden and after reading the image of the TOS that is being shared here I can say that I do not see anything either, with this in mind then it seems unfair that his account is being closed on the grounds of a rule that is not explicitly stated anywhere and that not only he is denied his winnings but that after so long he still has not gotten his initial deposit back.
If this is the case, it's unfair and a loss for op. He could keep emailing them about that it was not stated in their TOS as his defense because he has the rights over his winnings, but I think the site is hard to contact because they rarely reply to his emails.

But for the op, I'm just wondering why would he still choose to play on that site if it is restricted and still have to use VPN. I mean, there's a lot of other gambling sites he can choose tho, but I really hope that his problem will be fixed since it's been a while already.
113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: prediction betting platform pros and cons? on: December 25, 2020, 01:22:18 PM
One con that we saw recently was that the outcome of the election was not conclusive at first and then Trump tried to make it even more confusing by claiming he was going to win in court. Prediction markets held off on paying for several weeks to make sure there was a definitive answer. Having your funds locked up for longer than anticipated would make anybody nervous. This is always a risk when there is a close election or the outcome of an event is ambigous.
Well, I don't consider this as a con of the platform because I think it's more appropriate to say that that's the nature of what you bet on. Betting on election takes a little longer compared to sports betting since it's a more serious matter so it's kinda understandable why sites tend to lock up your funds for a longer time. So if it makes you more nervous, you can avoid betting on this kind of stuff or ensure the legitimacy of the site.
Thus, if we feel not confident of the site, we better stay away from them.
We understand the nature of gambling, we risk, we lose, or we win. And the reason why I preferred sportsbetting is that we don't need to wait long and see the result, unlike this election predictions. I feel bored waiting, to be honest not matter if the site is legit.

And as I observe, more gamblers will come in sportsbetting than predictions. It possible that because predictions create only less interest than sports and more gamblers are fun into sports which is very easy for them to pick.
We should always consider the site first before betting because we will be giving our funds there. And you're right that we should avoid prediction betting platform that we lack trust in or we are not that sure since it's better to ensure the safety of our funds when we bet on longer betting events like the presidential election.

I also feel the same that sports betting is much more fun and exciting than predictions. Only big events get a lot of interest when it comes to prediction betting.
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Non successful projects find it hard to pay on: December 25, 2020, 12:29:22 PM
Bounty hunters should be rewarded for their determination to accomplish the different tasks to promote the project. Thus, they are deserving to get a decent salary for their diligence. However, some of the team of those projects neglected their responsibilities to the bounty manager and hunter. Hence, even bounty managers complain and reported it as a scam to raise awareness to the interested investors.
For an instance:

[1] Hitmex Exchange {Scam} The owner is a fraud

Also, even if they were able to raise an amount that is capable to support their project, but it contradicts their plan to scam, they still won’t pay them.
115  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Babagsak Pa Kaya? on: December 24, 2020, 04:32:52 PM

117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any insurance service for gamblers to retain heavy losses....??? on: December 24, 2020, 03:00:43 PM
But yeah why seems no one is offering this? Is there no good returns if insurance for gamblers may be  opened ?

I thinks this is worth investing ,because all they do is spending and not thinking for what tomorrow may bring.

It's just encouraging more gamblers and even non-gamblers to gamble. Someone can get addicted and ruin their life without hesitating to gamble just because they are insured. Gambling is voluntary so it's not anyone's fault if they ruin their life because of this.
I don't think it was encouraging and attracts non-gamblers to go gambling because these people never think this thing. In real life, people come into gambling because they want to win, not being insured, and getting back their losses.

Well, I would like to see if there is a site that did this thing consistently.
TBH, this kind of service will be good but to wonder why we never saw this is probably due to the fact that they are not true to their promises and the site itself never profiting.
Both have a point if it might encourage gamblers to gamble more or not if gambling sites would offer such things. But it depends on the gamblers If they will let themselves be tempted with the insurance or not.

The service seems good but gambling is a risk and it's our individual choices and free will to gamble, so gambling sites are not obliged to give us insurance services for our possible losses.
118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Massadoption - Is it ready? on: December 24, 2020, 02:19:46 PM
For me, it becomes more complex because that's part of innovation. During the old days, when the technology is just starting, it's also complicated for other people but they eventually learned and adopted it so I think it's kinda similar. For now, not everyone is ready for bitcoin adoption due to several circumstances but I believe it only needs time for people to adopt because if people are interested, they will learn.
119  Other / Archival / Re: ... on: December 24, 2020, 01:40:46 PM
Bitcoin will surely gain more attention now that it's doing good in the market and that more companies are adopting it. But I always doubt that bitcoin will dominate and replace traditional currency because the first thing we should look at is the government. They won't let a decentralized currency to dominate their country and replace their own currency. Rather than replacing traditional currency, bitcoin is an alternative and they will co-exist together.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is going to be the next gem on: December 23, 2020, 04:41:39 PM
Bitcoin is a gem, and it already shows. It can give us convenience but not everyone is ready for it yet since a lot of people are still relying on paper money. If the government would adopt digital currency, they would start their own but I doubt that every government will accept bitcoin.

We have been saying the same thing for years. Everything is digital in the world now. Why shouldn't the coins be digital?
Countries like Sweden have started to change and this will spread around the world.

People are indeed adapting to technological changes but it is not that easy to do. Other countries may start digital currency but for other countries, it will be hard to follow so it will still take some time.
