1001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 07, 2023, 05:58:13 AM
With regards to the potential Canelo vs. Bud next year, it sounds crazy but really doable if Canelo approves it. If I were Canelo, I would take it since it is the biggest fight in boxing right now. He will be bashed a lot though if he wins and it could be worse if he loses to someone who moves up two divisions. I like Bud to win but I believe Canelo will be too much and destroy him.
If I'm not mistaken, Canelo already welcomed the idea where he could face Crawford next considering that he will win in his upcoming fight against Charlo. It's just a matter of time though, what we need to know now is if Crawford is still that powerful and fast at 154 against Spence before he proceeds towards 168. I know that he's big and so 154 or 168 will be okay for him but that alone can't make him win.
All I heard and read before was that Canelo seemed interested but at 168. But after Crawford changed his tune and became interested in making that ambitious historic feat, Canelo is showing some hints that he is uninterested because he wouldn't get any credit if he wins. But I felt like Canelo is just trying to make an impression to the public that he is not the one pushing this mega fight. Canelo will propose this fight if Bud wins his rematch with Spence. I believe Crawford no matter how good he is in his current division, will be at a whole new level at 168. Financially, he is high-reward and low-risk fight for Canelo at 168. And Crawford at 36 with lesser reflexes, Canelo is not a welterweight and might just eat his punches just to land his own big punishing shots.

Yes, and it will be a big challenge on the part of Crawford though, again as we said, he will be going up in 3 weight classes and facing one of the best Super middle weight, not just in this era.
But I like the what BoMac has said, he will also take this as an opportunity, on how he will outsmart Canelo's trainer which is Eddy Reynoso.
So this is not like just a fight for this boxers, but for their trainer as well. BoMac outsmart Derrick James when Crawford beat Spence.
And BoMac could be running for a obvious Trainer of the Year with that victory.
Mate, I love Bud to beat Canelo but it is very hard to imagine a 36-year-old moving up 2 divisions in 5 months if it happens in a Cinco De Mayo weekend. In total, that's 3 divisions north in less than a year. Bud will be slower and Canelo will crush him.

BoMac might get the Trainer of the Year here in 2023 since he had another solid win last weekend although it was not a title fight. His new fighter Chris Eubank Jr. made sweet revenge by beating Liam Smith in their rematch. But the fat man made his own headlines, he was arrested in the airport on his way home to the US after security found a loaded gun and ammunition in his baggage. Cheesy

There's a positive answer if you are willing to open up your eyes and figure out to deal with volatility, since one of the most inevitable things in bitcoin is that it is going to continue to be volatile, and there are ways to deal with that in order to see the positivity of the matter both financially and psychologically.

Volatility is inherent feature of all risky assets markets, offering opportunities for investors to enter or adjust their positions. In the  case of Bitcoin, the intensity of price fluctuations is comparatively higher, making it a defining characteristics of this digital currency. While managing this high volatility can be a challenging task, there are ways to deal with it and find positivity in both financial and psychological perspectives. One effective approach involves adopting a long term investment mindset when dealing with Bitcoin.

What if you are appointed as a bitcoin investment manager by the Central African Republic? Would you consider the 4-year cycle of bitcoin? Will you buy and accumulate 2 years earlier until its next halving and then sell them after the halving year? I am not sure if the big financial institutions are doing this but more likely that some of them as already into this type of strategy.

The volatility of bitcoin will continue until it reaches its long-term potential. Maybe if the whole valuation of bitcoin reaches double digits in trillions of dollars its price will have difficulty making big waves.
1003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 06, 2023, 03:42:31 PM
I see nothing wrong with Spence hiring another coach because it is normal. He will learn more by shifting to other coaches. The issue however is he won't be having an easy tune-up with his new coach as he will be doing a rematch against Terrence Crawford. And I agree with @Kemarit since Roy Jones is not a proven good coach.

The score is 77-61 in favor of Canada; I think I've seen this before  Smiley

Canada still holds a double-digit lead, and the worst thing is that Luka has been thrown out of the game. He committed two technical fouls for constant complaining about non-calls. Slovenia's journey in this tournament will likely come to an end soon, and unfortunately, it won't end well.

Would've loved to see an upset in this game but it is really hard to pull an upset especially if the team is nearly dependent on a single player. The main focus of the defense will be obviously on Luka Doncic. I remember when Luka was having a hard time converting his shots in the first half against Cape Verde, Slovenia also struggled. And against the Canadian favorites where it has a lot of options for their offense.

Big props to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, that was a very solid performance. Barely missed his shots except during the times when he tried for the threes. I won't be surprised if Canada wins this FIBA World Cup for the first time.

The Lakers have signed forward Christian Wood to a 2 year deal. Christian had a decent year last year averaging 16 & 7. I’m not sure how he’ll fit into the lineup but maybe he’s a little extra insurance in case something happens to Anthony Davis. Wood did dominate the Lakers in the Christmas game last year…

Good, I thought that he will be in the Warriors, but I guess Lakers is not that bad for Wood to be a destination team. Yeah, most likely it he will be some insurance for Davis, if ever AD got injured or something, at least there will be someone to cover the Center/PF department for the Lakers unlike last year.

Decent stat but he was not a impact to the Mavericks last year and I think he struggled with the rotation and chemistry with the players and it's good though that he has been released and then pick up by Lakers for a 2 year deal.

Maybe he is a slight downgrade from Davis (just a bit though). I mean, both can dominate the paint and can shoot from outside, so it looks like he can fit into the chemistry needed for the Lakers team to work smoothly. Davis' minutes need to be managed, as they cannot afford to miss him in the playoffs. So, having Christian Wood, who is known for his offensive skills, I think he'll shine with the Lakers. The advantage the Lakers have is their big lineup, so the defensive and rebounding liabilities for Wood may not be as challenging.

Christian Wood is not on the same level as Anthony Davis but at a minimum contract of just over $2 million next season, that's already a steal. His stats deserved a double-digit contract so this is another big achievement in terms of the Lakers' negotiating strategy. Wood is a good shooter outside and inside so he is definitely another offensive player to not take for granted. He is also in mid 20s which means he can still be developed, especially his defense.

The Lakers are really doing well this off-season with very good additions. And with Bron still playing at an elite level, this team will definitely give the top favorite teams a run for their money.
1006  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: September 06, 2023, 02:12:21 PM
I still can't see odds on this fight. But I am expecting Casimero to be the favorite. Oguni is not really a solid fighter that would threaten Casimero. He's not in the current rankings in his division. Although this fight will happen in Oguni's home country and that is his advantage, I don't see how Casimero would be affected. Casimero has been entering lions den in the past, going to his opponents' backyard and win. If the ML odds for Casimero isn't that low, it's a safe bet.

Regarding my recent checking at some major boxing odds preview sites, the odds for this fight is not available yet.

There's no doubt that John Riel Casimero will be the favorite here being ranked #10 by The Ring, ranked #6 by the WBC, and ranked #3 by the WBO while on the other hand, Yukinori Oguni isn't even ringing a bell for being a strong contender and just staying at his comfort zone for long.

Should be another win for Casimero as it really should be no matter what. Losing against a not even consider a strong contender does mean that says goodbye on his quest of becoming a world title holder again. Easy road to being ranked facing unpopular boxers on the way. Good progress indeed to become close on being a title contender. Smiley

https://www.proboxingodds.com/fighters/John-Riel-Casimero-1319
https://box.live/fights/casimero-vs-oguni/

Maybe we can see some betting odds later once the date is getting nearer to its fight night. Or maybe betting odds are only available to local countries where these two fighters came from.

Yukinori Oguni was a good opponent some years ago. He is a former world champion. But he went inactive or probably made a retirement and then some years later he made a comeback but only settled to draw against a mediocre opponent. Oguni is currently more than a year inactive so this should be an easy fight for Casimero.

About Casimero's quick rise in the rankings, it is normal since he is a 3-division world champion and it's been a long time since he lost a fight.
1007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: September 01, 2023, 07:11:05 AM
Not this time, Secret is eliminated which I’m sad since my fellow Filipino is in there. It will be nice if Secret get the 2nd spot so that Armel and Gabby will compete on TI with different team.

I think Quest already got this second since Luna Galaxy is already showing some and typically team that beaten bad on upper bracket finals has low morale to compete with on momentum lower bracket team.
Yes, Quest Esports did manage to qualify and able to beat Luna Galaxy straight 2-0. No Puppey this TI and this is the TI that's going to break his record from being a regular attendee and qualifier. He's got the record of 11 times attendance and appearance for TI but not for the TI12.

I'm really surprised at how Quest made a 2-0 run on Luna Galaxy after they lost earlier in their upper-bracket series. About Team Secret, I am not really fond of Crystallis' performance and I share the same opinion after seeing a lot of online negative comments. But I am curious as to why Puppey continues to keep him. Sad to see Puppey ending his longest TI participation streak. I don't know if he can bounce back in the next season or if he will follow Koroky's fate.

For many years, this should be the first time in TI that there is no team with more than 1 Filipino. And SEA only has 2 representatives. So hopefully this is a wake-up call since the other regions especially South America looked more deserving of more slots.
1008  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin Helped Create Big Changes In Your Life? on: September 01, 2023, 06:42:23 AM
Anyway for me no big change yet because I am just a new investor (greenhorn) in the crypto game, I will say that the only people that Bitcoin has help to create a big change in their life's are the people who invested in Bitcoin from either 2009 to 2017 or 2020 but now I don't think from 2021 anyone have gotten bigger achievements besides people are waiting for the bullish season after the bullrun then we can talk if Bitcoin has helped us to create any big change.

That's right. People who started to invest bitcoin in 2021 are still on the losing end. And we do not know what percent of them are still holding it until the next bull run which is usually in a 4-year cycle. The majority of the early investors pretty sure sold their holdings already and then bought back for another hold.

In my situation, I think I bought bitcoin at $500+ something before but I sold them all last 2018 or 2019 at $3k to $4k range. And here I am again starting to accumulate monthly at a higher price. But we're all probably very optimistic that bitcoin will reach another ATH in the next bull run which is expected to start next year and peak in 2025 if we are to based on its price history.
1009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: September 01, 2023, 06:20:32 AM
So the date remains alive but we haven't heard from the Haney team if they are still fighting on the said date. The contract has been signed though so I also wonder if the Haney's are just going to honor the date.

As for Regis Prograis, it's very funny since he said that if Haney is not ready then he is looking forward to giving Adrien Broner a shot at his belt. And Broner lately also said that he is back and is interested in facing the belt holders. It's funny though. I wonder if Broner can still make the 140-weight limit. Broner with his popularity became the target of Prograis, Rolly Romero, and Ryan Garcia. They're probably seeing Adrien Broner as a high reward with low low risk. Cheesy
1010  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: September 01, 2023, 06:00:26 AM

The biggest upset here so far is the early exit of France since they still have many line-ups that finished 3rd in the last FIBA World Cup. They also have good NBA players like Gobert and Fournier.

They seem to be facing some bad luck. Despite having an NBA player on their team, chemistry appears to be a problem. Additionally, it seems that Gobert might not be in his prime anymore, which is evident from his performance in his NBA team.

France was ranked in the top 5: as per ranking in https://www.fiba.basketball/rankingmen. The unexpected outcome is a significant setback for their national team and could potentially impact their confidence in international games. It's crucial for them to assess their team and identify the underlying issues. This marks the first time they've experienced an early exit in the FIBA World Cup since Gobert became a part of the team if I remember correctly.

Yeah, I also believe Gobert is no longer in his prime and Batum is also old. But still, they should be enough to at least proceed in the next round. That game against Latvia was very winnable and they were leading more than 10 in the 4th quarter before the rally. So I agree that luck is also not on their side in this tournament.

If they're ranked 5 in the world then they will be dropped hard once this tournament officially ends and updates are available. Maybe outside the top 10 already? I wonder what France look like if Wembanyama played. The Spurs decided to excuse him from the national team for further development. But he and Gobert will have their chance to team up and get back their glory in the 2024 Paris Olympics. That will be the biggest basketball event and at the same time, their nation is the host. Should be fun to watch.
1011  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - Nov 15 on: September 01, 2023, 05:39:06 AM
Looks like Jerwin Ancajas by decision is the majority vote with over 52%, including my very own vote. But I while think its reasonable to believe this, I would love to know everyone else's opinion on why exactly they think a Jewin Ancajas by KO is much less likely. Is it because Takuma Inoue has only known to have been KO'd only once in his career, by Nordine Oubaali? Or is it because he has only lost once? Huh

Sure Takuma might be tough but a punch from Jerwin is no joke. I think the chance of a KO should be higher than the polls are currently reflecting. Not as high as a by decision but still quite much higher.

Jerwin was IBF junior bantam weight title holder and most of the opinion in this game was Jerwin. With your words already the fifty percentage of vote was crossed,so the percentage of vote was favour the Jerwin. The maximum KO was made by the young and efficient Jerwin as compared to the Japanese player Inoue. This match going to decide whether the Japanese player or Philippines  player to win this match. The power puncher Jerwin will face the hard puncher Inoue in this match. Most probably the match end before the complete of 5 rounds by the KO,this was the unique style of Jerwin in most of the match.

It is less likely that Jerwin Ancajas will score a knockout because Takuma Inoue is a smart boxer with very good stamina since nearly all of his fights went the distance. Takuma is not known to punch that hard reason why he only has 4 KOs in his 18 wins. And by the way, Takuma's only defeat was by decision and not by knockout so we shall see if Jerwin is capable of catching him clean.

I would like to see Jerwin becoming champion again but I actually voted for Takuma by decision. Jerwin is going to get schooled if he is not bringing something new to his technique.
1012  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 01, 2023, 05:12:14 AM
The whole Giannis thing started when he said he is expecting some winning moves made by the team. Plus we are seeing stars leaving their teams all the time now, way more than back in the day, which means that its going to get only more common. There is really no reason for someone to have a career like Dame anymore, its not getting enough respect. That dude has spent all his life in Portland and for one reason or another they did not build a team around him at all. Dame with some great drivers would have been a beast team, Giannis is a great example, imagine Dame with him. The fact that some stars may not want to end up like him makes sense.

Yeah, many players have realized this and are now willing to make moves even if they get bashed. Personally, it's better to follow what you want to avoid regrets in the future and stay unaffected by negative remarks. Dame is a very good example of the current superstars that stay loyal to their city and because of that he's probably more loved with minimal bashers than the other superstars. To be fair, Portland tried to make moves in the past but they were not enough and it's also not consistent probably due to limited resources, unlike the other rich teams in the NBA.

Dame is now 33 and he wants to play his remaining years while he is still significant in a team that has a real chance of winning the title. Portland should at least try to ship him to Miami as per his request for his many years of loyalty. Hopefully, a 3 or even more team trades will do this before the start of this season.
1013  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 31, 2023, 10:22:53 AM
Against a team with deadly offensive guards, GSW will be forced to bench CP3. Actually, it is okay to bench him since he is already 38 and will be 40 by the end of his contract. The issue though is that CP3 will be paid $30 million per year which is too high for someone to play 20sh minutes per game, especially during the playoffs if they can qualify.

Anyway, it remains to be seen if this GSW experiment will work. I still value young Poole over CP3 but I understand that GSW needs to let go of him since they prefer Draymond.
Yes, no doubt that Jordan Poole has a good contribution to them when they have a championship run. Nevertheless, last season was very different as Draymond and Poole has a scuffle prior to the season and it set the tone for the Warriors and then they completely collapse after the first round. I thought that the issues has been solved already.

But it seems that it was still very evident as we have seen Poole complaining every time he didn't got the ball and then he was bench by Kerr. As for CP3, maybe a good 10 minutes or even 15 minutes might be good for him as a Warrior as he is no longer at his prime and could also be prone to injury.
I would guess that keeping Draymond is a proof that there is going to be hard time for them going forward. Why is that? Well Poole was the one that got punched, but they still sent him away and did not back him up and just wanted to protect Draymond in that situation.

I can understand the loyalty because he is the guy they won 4 rings with and he is the master at the passing for klay and curry and memorized all the plays and does all the dirty things that others can't do to keep them clean etc etc. But that doesn't mean that other players will not see this and go "well I could be punched there and kicked off" and just not want to go there. I would guess this was a tough decision, they made the wrong one emotionally, but probably the right one by the team.

Nothing's personal here; it wasn't the punching incident that led the Warriors to decide on trading Poole. Instead, it was his performance in the playoffs, which I believe was subpar or uncharacteristic of him. I assume the issue between them was already resolved since they played together during the regular season. However, Poole's inconsistency might have played a role, which no team would want from a player they invested a lot of money in.

Yes, that is indeed the reason why Jordan Poole was traded and not anyone else in the roster or Draymond Green. The punching incident was already buried and was not one of the factors why that specific trade took place. If only Poole showed consistency while everyone else in the team is giving their best, he could've remained as the Warriors and wear their jerseys again but since he wasn't, he can only blame himself because after having a good run, he then became a liability to the team.

Warriors will not trade Poole if he's consistent on his performance but he didn't achieve what their management expect so that one provably the main reason why Poole got traded. Thay punching incident is just additional factor since if that happen and Poole is contributing like a star player to Warriors for sure they will not let this guy go anywhere. I guess this is good trade done by then as they eliminate the huge salary of Poole and can give it to Green and to other more useful players on their team.

I disagree. That punching incident wasn't included on the factor on why the Warriors decided to trade Poole, it was his performance in the playoffs which made the Warriors did what they did and in-fact, Poole had it coming to himself because he was not on his usual self during that time. And if Draymond Green was also inconsistent, I won't be surprised either if both of them will not wear the same uniform they had next season but it was just Poole.

Anyways, it's just coming from rumors but it will remain speculations because the NBA and the Warriors will never allow the public to know something that isn't good for public consumption. They're even very disappointed as to why the video of the punching incident circulated online since they want it to remain private.

It is what it is. Poole actually played decent in the regular season and then something went wrong during the playoffs. If I were the management I wouldn't trade a young potential due to a single bad playoffs performance especially over a past prime yet more expensive player. Unless something is happening behind the public. Just my 2 cents. I doubt GSW will do better this coming season which means at least reaching a conference finals.
1014  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA 2023 World Cup Prediction Thread on: August 31, 2023, 09:43:03 AM
With how laughable the Philippines are performing in the game that they themselves are hosting, it’s safe to say that they are outclassed in the game that they pool millions of pesos for, and they are not going to bag any gold medals nor be part of any major international tournaments moving forward. Poor performance, coaching from one of the most senile people on the planet, and just downright lukewarm players that are in there cause of hype and nothing else to back that hype for are just the tip of this disappointment iceberg. I would say I hope things change and their team performs better in future games but I can’t bring myself to believe in them anymore. It’s just so disappointing watching “professional” players play the ball game like they are high school students in tryouts.

Chill mate. It is what it is. What do we expect from a very corrupt country? The unwanted coach is also like a government official, he's got no shame and will continue to do the job and accept his salary and incentives no matter how ineffective he is.

It is really funny that most of the country ignored the sports and athletes that are actually playing world level yet they never get the attention or enough support from the government, media, business sector, and its citizens. And to realize that the Philippines along with Lithuania are the only 2 countries in the world where this sport is number 1. Lithuania at least with only 2 million population is playing like a real basketball country. The Philippines has over a hundred million in population. I heard it spent over a million dollars for Jordan Clarkson alone to play. Its lawmaking body is also quick to approve foreigners to become naturalized citizens just for the sake of this sport. While offering minimal to zero support from the other sports athletes which prompted some of them to just relocate to other countries where they got sponsorships.
1015  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - Nov 15 on: August 31, 2023, 08:30:20 AM
That is really the big issue with Jerwin when he lost the belt the first time, not sure though why they insists on a rematch since he can no longer make the weight class and obviously his body is getting bigger.

Maybe before, not confident enough to climb at 118 pounds when there were lots of strong contenders during that time.

Just my guess though why he decided to just stay at 115  and we know what happened later on. It's good for me to see him being defeated at the hands of Fernando Martinez, not once but twice, for him to recognize that they need to get out from that division he reigned for a long and consider stepping up another challenge on his career. Being a contender now at one of the belts at 118, I'm sure he won't have any weight problems now. Previously in his last fight in June, he weighed around 121 lbs during his fight against Wilner Soto which he got a knockout win.

We can assume that Ancajas' comfort weight now is between 118 to 122.

Team Ancajas were very confident about moving up in weight after the first defeat. They said they are moving up in weight. I don't know why the change of decisions. But it is indeed very tough to decide since they have a rematch clause on Fernando Martinez. So the final decision was to activate the rematch clause against Martinez and then move up in weight. Should Ancajas won in that rematch, he would've probably gotten ranked in the top 5 of these sanctioning bodies since he moved up in weight as a champion. He lost the rematch but he is lucky that 2 of the sanctioning bodies still ranked him in the top 10.

I really want to see something new in Ancajas' strategies this time, otherwise, Takuma Inoue will outbox him for the 12 rounds.
1016  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 31, 2023, 05:30:00 AM
Currently watching Slovenia vs. Cape Verde. Luka Doncic and his team need to win in order to secure the top spot but it seems like they are getting tough opposition by Cape Verde. Luka is only 2 of 11 but I assume that they will start to figure it out here and will take the win.
Slovenia is currently leading by 12 points, and based on their performance so far, it seems likely that they will secure the win.

They won the game 92-77, with Luka still being the top contributor with 19 points. What was the spread before the game? I missed this game; I could have bet on Slovenia to cover the spread as I believed they were the favorites to win.

Games that are still ongoing now;

China vs Puerto Rico
Iran vs Spain
Greece vs New Zealand

Luka is still the leading scorer even with the poor start, but that's how star players work. They will figure it out and will not stop
to attack, to continue finding the right touch.

Not sure about the spread, maybe you are right and those who bet for the handicap might secure a nice win a part from taking the ML.

Interesting to see how teams perform and how those NBA stars are trying to help their own national squad
and be competitive during the games.

I also forgot about the spreads but the ML odds aren't good enough for me as the Slovenians were expected to win the game. I was so focused on watching the game and was intrigued as to how Cape Verde was holding its own line. After reading the comment here I just realized that I missed the opportunity to bet on Slovenia when the scores were tied or very close. I was also confident that Slovenia would win on ML.

The biggest upset here so far is the early exit of France since they still have many line-ups that finished 3rd in the last FIBA World Cup. They also have good NBA players like Gobert and Fournier.
1017  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does monitor size affect trading? on: August 31, 2023, 05:03:14 AM
Very good traders can still actually perform great trades even without big screens. But having a big screen, a separate comfortable room for trading and many screens help them to become more effective and productive. For instance, you want to see bitcoin/usdt charts with various indicators. So it is quicker and less hassle if you have many screens and bigger screens. Having a lot of screens also helps them monitor more pairs rather than just a few ones.

Not all good traders have these kinds of trading materials but probably all of them dream of having all of it so they can be more focused.
1018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: August 31, 2023, 04:38:18 AM
Mike Tyson said that he thinks Francis Ngannou is going to give Tyson Fury a good fight, and he even gave him few tips how to fight against Fury.
I dont know who else is going to train and prepare Ngannou for this fight but this is going to be big boost to have Iron Mike in his corner.
I think most he can do is to win few rounds, but he is entering dangerous uncharted waters with boxing.
If rematch fight would happen in MMA that could easily be highest paying MMA fight in history.

Iron Mike can offer some tips but he never fought someone as big, smart, and as skillful as Fury before. But indeed he can boost Ngannou's morale. While Ngannou literally has a very low chance of winning already, his inactivity of nearly two years further diminished his chance of causing an upset. He is also turning 37 so aside from not being known as a quick fighter, his reflexes won't be the same as before.

The best I can see for Ngannou is to not care about winning rounds. He better not waste his already limited energy trying to jab without having plans to follow it up with a power punch. I'll be very glad to see Ngannou catching and putting Fury down and causing a major upset but he needs to do it before he runs out of gas. Fury also knows that Ngannou will be tired after 3 or 4 rounds so he might stay away from harm and just use his jabs in the early rounds.

As for the rematch in MMA, I doubt Belly Duck will grant it. He even refused a huge money from Saudi for a chance to become the first ever undisputed heavyweight champion in this 4-belt era.
1019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: August 30, 2023, 01:45:14 PM
Prior to picking Oguni, there were two or three ranked fighters who challenged Casimero. One of them is former 118 champion Luis Nery who is ranked WBC #1, WBO #2, and IBF #7. Casimero at the moment is ranked WBO #3 and WBC #8. Maybe Casimero's team thinks that this type of fight deserves a belt which makes this a high risk with low reward. Besides, Nery is banned in Japan after being caught using illegal substances. And I doubt Casimero agrees to travel to Mexico which is also very risky IMO.

I think that's the other way around where instead, the Casimero camp is challenging Luis Nery but the latter camp didn't have an interest.

Anyway, doesn't matter anymore as Casimero just needs to take down all opponents on his way. After that, we should see a bright light on his career by having a shot to face Naoya Inoue at the WBO title or unification, if possible, if the monster wins against his counterpart champion, Tapales.

In the past Johnreil Casimero indeed talked many times about fighting Luis Nery of how he beats the Mexican. I guess nobody is ducking between them and they just went separate ways. Also, Nery was already at 122 when Casimero was still fighting at 118 as the WBO champion. Now it's just talks about challenging each other since both of them have no belts so they also know that it may not be worth it. Both fighters were also the ones mentioned as Inoue's targets in his title defense. So the real target is Inoue for the belts and the money. Nery might have a better chance of getting Inoue first since he can be named as the WBC mandatory but he is banned in Japan which means Casimero might get Inoue first. But maybe Casimero and Nery will finally fight each other down the line but for now, they need to take a belt first.
1020  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 30, 2023, 01:17:07 PM
On the other hand, Tapales does have good speed and a very hard punch,

Just like i said before, no matter how good Tapales is, this is Inoue's game, i mean This unification fight if pushes through is for Inoue to win and all they need to do is pay Marlon Tapales the right amount for them to get the Filipino fighter's nod.

Just a little trivia about Tapales, on his last fight against Akhmadallev, he change is fighting style to a counter-puncher which i think surprise the latter and never got the chance to adjust and this ultimately give the win to Tapales and who knows that he could surprise Inoue the same way he surprised Akhmadallev.

Power of Tapales might be underrated, but as you have said, he just toyed with Akhmadallev and counter him all night during their fight. And even though Tapales was caught several times, he has a good chin and then just used that counter very often that Akhmadallev become confused on the fight.

And the awkwardness of Tapales might be a plus for him in this fight. As Inoue is known to face technical fighters and so he is ready on what they are going to throw on him. But if Marlon is a very boxer that Inoue was expecting, it could be a very hard fight, just saying.

We're all expecting another huge Inoue win here but it's also interesting to predict how the fight goes on. Tapales might be too underestimated here just like when Iron Mike underestimated his opponent during his fight in Japan which cost him his undefeated record.

It's a good thing that Tapales can shift from an aggressor to a counter-puncher and also he can be awkward. These are very much needed in order to confuse Inoue. Maybe Tapales is once again developing another strategy that is something new. Tapales don't have to match the speed of Inoue here, all he needs is the timing.
