Well.. it was disappointing. Netherlands women had a chance of scoring an upset win, but the goal from Lindsey Horan in the second half made sure that the US will get at least one point from this match. Both the teams now have 4 points from 2 matches in Group E, and are almost assured of a spot in the next stage. United States will be playing Portugal next, and all they need is a draw. Netherlands will be facing Vietnam. Today we have a few more matches, and the one in Group B (Australia vs Nigeria) will be interesting.

Great result for the Netherlands who have a great footballing history and I think
they have an easier match next against Vietnam than the USA have against Portugal.

In the FIFA Women's World Cup United States vs Netherlands two teams came to the field to play. The performance of the players of both teams was very difficult. I was a supporter of the Netherlands team in this match. The Netherlands first scored 1 goal in the 17th minute. The performance of the Netherlands team in the first half was amazing.  After the halftime of the game, Netherlands started to perform very badly which led to a draw. United States played a poor first half in this match but had a great performance in the second half which led to a draw for the United States.

I am also a supporter of the Netherlands, my partner is from there so I always have
a second team to get behind if Ireland fail to progress in any sport
The Netherlands not performing well in the second half was a result of the USA performance.

"Ita a game of 2 halves"

The race is truly on for first position in this group.

The match between Canada vs Ireland waa very interesting and Canada really needed a win to maintain the first position of their table in Group B, though Ireland were leading with a goal but the Canada women who where so ambitious for a goal equalised due to an own goal from the Ireland defence making the first half of the game to end with a 1 - 1 draw, the presence of the Canadian attacker Christine Sinclair was felt in the team when she got in, because was very good with the goal holding and created some good chances that would had led to goal, it was a wonderful performance from the Canadian women they played fantastically and pressed more which made them had another brilliant goal from Leon at the 53rd minute of the match which later ended 2 - 1 in full time.
Another player that had a wonderful performance was the Arsenal women's player and Irish captain Katie McCabe, she opened the goal scoring with a stunning goal at the fourth minute of the game, scoring directly from the corner, and also had a brilliant game though they lost making them to sit at the bottom of the table. The super falcons of Nigeria would be having a match against Australia tomorrow and only time would tell if Australian would come top on the table or lose to the super falcons.

Yes an interesting game it was, Canada were rattled in the first half, Ireland played aggressively
and didnt give Canada time on the ball. The Irish goal by McCabe was very spectacular - corner
kick curling into the net off the back post. I'm sure a lot of bookmakers were just a little fearful
at that point that Ireland just might have been able to win...but if course it was a long way to
try and hold that lead.

The OG just before half time was kind of against the play of the first half where Canada were
not effective in their attack play and I think Ireland had slightly more possession.

Second half was very much different, 3 changes at half time for canada changed the
dynamics of the team and they were way more effective attacking, that coupled with
Ireland not being able to hold possession was only going to result in one outcome.

Canada were definitely worth their favourite status in the end.
1043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on: July 26, 2023, 11:37:41 AM
Ireland in an upset.

Hopefully
It will be tough, they actually might cancel themselves out, both defences are quite good
and as well as Canada they have good attack play but of course ball in the net is what
counts. Canada are olympic champions but I think Ireland are capable of an upset for sure.

Straight forward wins for Japan and Spain earlier today so yea they are going through,
they play each other in the group to see who tops the group.

Another court case lost for Dr.CSW

Here's the tweet from Peter.

That statement "deliberately false" is so damning, the main thing is that he was found out bigtime.

Great. It’s funny, but I also hate it too. Are we still giving CShitW attention? He’s literally one of (if not the) the biggest failures in crypto lol, and he’s still trying.. I somehow feel bad for him in a way, he’s tried so hard for something he’ll never achieve and only be publicly shamed for it forever lol

At this point, he’s close to breaking records for loss streaks

Thats the thing, he should be publically shamed for actually starting down the road he created.

He will definitely be a big part of Bitcoin's history ut on the negative side unfortunately for him.

Full judgement here: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Wright-v-McCormack-judgment-260723.pdf

.

My understanding is that by letting CSW "win" the trial, the judge closed off some avenues of appeal which CSW would otherwise have abused.

Brilliant interpretation o_e_l_e_o and good play by the Judge - intentional or not!

Overall, we are delighted to see this house of cards finally toppling and hopefully soon we can
move on and have all this BS behind us.

off-topic, Djokovic is on vacation in Dubrovnik, as I can see, but not giving interviewes regarding Wimbledon

I dont blame him - its done, he gave his interviews, what are people expecting of him
at this stage?

Meanwhile over at Atlanta I'm keeping an eye and following on Eubanks, he is
into the Round of 16 after beating Martin and faces Nakashima tomorrow.

All the top seeds are through, de Minaur plays Kokkinakis, Fritz plays Wu and Evans
plays Koepfer, I think de Minaur has the tougher of the matches.
1048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on: July 25, 2023, 08:11:14 PM

Tomorrow going to watch Canada - Ireland, probably I already can put bet on goals under Cheesy.

I'll be interested in how this pans out tomorrow especially on how Ireland do.

There is a massive match on today, starting in a few hours - USA v The Netherlands,
this is a replay of the last Womens world cup final from 2019! Would love to see
The Netherlands win but they are missing a key player Miedemaespecially for this one
1049  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What factors affect life expectancy? on: July 25, 2023, 07:32:21 AM
There are indeed many factors which affect life expectancy, some posted above. I' m not
sure war and conflict are the biggest threat, I would say disease and illnesses are the biggest
and having access to a working health system is extremely important.

What seems to be trending currently is the environmental issues and the threat they pose to us
like natural disasters from climate change and food security from the decline in wildlife
and the imminent extinction of certain species. Taking this a step further, current food production
practices are probably not actually doing us any favours in the long run.

After the defeat from the Wimbledon Djokovic have decided to withdraw from the ATP Toronto Masters. He had decided to be off from the court for few more days, also mentioned that he always enjoyed playing in Canada and hope to return in the coming years. This time quarter finalist of Wimbledon Eubanks gets entry into the Toronto main draw.

I wonder will he be limiting the amount of tournaments he plays now, will he be concentrating
on Grand Slams and some tournaments on the lead up to them? He has done everything in the
sport its really about chasing records now I would say.

On Eubanks, he is currently playing Atlanta, and plays Martin tomorrow. He is seeded in
5th spot and has Fritz, de Minaur, Evans and Nishioka ahead of him as top 4 seeds, I really
would like to see how he progresses this week.
1051  Economy / Economics / Re: Europe have one big problem the euro currency on: July 24, 2023, 07:08:04 PM
Every FIAT currency is in trouble, not only Euro. It is because FIAT has no hard supply cap like bitcoin. Every FIAT currency in history died because of this reason. People tried to use gold backed currencies but we failed because we cheat. Bitcoin is honest. The supply is limited and there will never ever be more than 21 million bitcoins in existence. If people dump their FIAT for BTC maybe the central banks will take notice and stop printing useless papers but that's wishful thinking. We know they can't stop printing because it is their job to do so.

Absolutely, I'm not sure why the OP is focussing on the 3rd largest currency? so yea
raise the point of backing it up with something but that means central banks wont
be able to print their way out of/into trouble so easily so while we in general can complain
I'm not sure backing it up with some commodity or asset is going to be popular with
decision makers.

There is no demand by other currencies for euro so much.

There is quite a demand for € inside the eurozone though!
1052  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on: July 24, 2023, 05:49:28 AM
This year's FIFA Women's World Cup tournament so far has not produced much goals as is expected of women's league. And to be honest, it's quite boring. Maybe as it's in it's early stages. I was expecting the Three Lionesses of England to thrash the Haitian side but their performance was not something I'd call satisfactory and if they couldn't beat the Haitian side well, is it the Denmark women they'd defeat? Maybe this will end in a draw.

Agreed so far it's been a little uninspiring.  I expect the knockout stages to be a little more watchable but to date there hasn't been that great of soccer (or futbol whatever) being played.  US side should have annihilated the Vietnam side and just spooked sloppy when in their 18, laid off betting for now but considering betting the underdogs going forward as the favorites have been just squeaking by.
Every passing year there'll be improvement with the teams. This is why we weren't able to see teams making big number of goals. Earlier the leagues were dominated by the big ones who thrash the small teams. Nowadays the small teams have improved much and standing strong against the big ones. This is why we weren't able to see much of goals. Even in mens football we were able to see underdogs winning matches that can't be said as just mistake. Those were part of the team's improvement.

I agree that the teams will improve with time and proper funding. The womens
game I suspect has been under funded for years and not given the recognition
it deserves by officials or the public. I have vouch for this because of the lack of
proper treatment the Irish Womens team have endured for years.

https://m.independent.ie/sport/soccer/international-soccer/sharing-tracksuits-and-changing-in-toilets-irish-womens-team-hit-out-at-treatment-as-fai-respond-with-statement/35592523.html

Sharing tracksuits and changing in toilets - Irish women's team hit out at treatment as FAI respond with statement

TBH we shouldnt blame the players themselves, I recon if they got a fraction of the money
which is circulating around the mens game the womens side would advance by leaps
and bounds.

They just need more support from everyone

I really thought England and the Netherlands would have bigger wins on Saturday.

Meanwhile back on the clay courts...

Semi finals in Bastaad Sweden sees Ruud on his favoured surface face up to Musetti
a close match this but Ruud is favourite.
Cerúndolo faces Rublev, another close one but Rublev should win that, interestingly all top
4 seeded players have made it to the semis, Ruud being #1.

Over at Gstaad Switzerland its Ramos-Vinolas v Kecmanović who is second seed and my
favoured one for this this semi.
Second semi is Cachin v Medjedovic but no idea how to pick a winner eventhough Cachin
is favourite.

The final today at Bastaad is as expected between Ruud and Rublev. Ruud despatched
Musetti in 2 sets while Rublev took the 3 sets to take the win. I'm going with Ruud to win today.

Over at Gstaad its a Cachin v Ramos-Vinolas final, both won their semi finals in 2 handy
sets, No clue about todays winner, Cachin is slight favourite but Ramos-Vinolas is
a good bet @ 2.25 I think.

Rublev swept Ruud off the court easily (relatively) 7:6, 6:0. The Norwegian was only resisting Andrei's big forehand in the first set. In the second, Rublev turned GOD MODE on with super hard and precise shots mostly down the line demolished Ruud. This and also the slippery court after the rain made the Norwegian surrender. Well deserved win for the Russian! Congrats to Rublev!

Hamburg set to start tomorrow, some big names on the list: Zverev, Ruud, Rublev, Musetti, Cerundolo.

Well they are two .ore dead bets! massive win by Rublev indeed especially the 6-0,
thats a strange result for Ruud not to win a game.

And the favourite won in Gstaad over three sets.

Just looking up the line up for tomorrow at Hamburg and Cachin and Rublev are
scheduled to play, I wonder if they can carry their form over to Hamburg, I'll wait and see.

The Atlanta Open also kicks off tomorrow, some well known players in particular
Eubanks will be playing that!

And then it only took the Titans 16 to get their score... and then ran in another 4 try's in 12
minutes and at half time it was 18-16! I didnt bet on that game.

...or todays games, I was thinking of backing the Sharks, luckily I procrastinated, they
are being hammered, its currently 0 - 24!

On the Womens side, wins for Titans, Knights, Roosters, Wests Tigers and Sharks.

4 out of 5 is a great return, good picks Timelord!
1057  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is politics everyone's business? on: July 22, 2023, 06:52:24 AM
Yes, everyone is affected by political decisions so it should be a concern, and in fairness
its avery popular discussion - mostly to complain and give out about current political affairs.

Those who dont at least cast their vote in elections dont really have a right to complain
about the outcome and there are those who dont vote and yet have nothing good to say
about a government.

Politics is guaranteed to affect everyone to some degree, positively or not so positively
so its important to try and keep up with current political affairs so that we can be well
informed about issues concerning us for when elections come around.

I can confirm  ROLLBIT have a book open now on the Womens NRL.
First game up and running and there is also a live feed!

Whatever about the Mens NRL I know nothing about the womens game.

On the mens game, great wins by the Warriors by 1 point over the Raiders and big
statement win by the Broncos to tell everyone they are going the full distance
and not going away in the latter part of the regular competition. Very happy
for both!

Interesting game later - Cowboys v Eels ... two top teams from last year play each other
mainly at this stage to scrape themselves inside the top 8 to kind of salvage something
from their season, I'm definitely staying away from yhat one

1060  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on: July 21, 2023, 06:35:14 AM
In FIFA Women's World Cup, the match between two teams Nigeria vs Canada has started. The players of both teams are trying hard to score goals. However, I like the performance of Canada team players. It seems that Canada can score anytime. If Nigeria does not play well today, the chances of winning today's match will be very small. So far, the players of both teams have not scored any goals. If there is no goal in today's match, the match is likely to be a draw. If the players of Canada team Can play well, maybe Canada can win. Nothing is understood until the game is over.

Canada has more dominance in this match, and they should be able to win here. But a cool performance from Chiamaka Nnadozie made all of Canada's chances for nothing. TBH, I wasn't surprised to see her cool performance, because she came from Paris FC, which is ranked third in the French women's league, below Lyon and PSG.

In their next game (Nigeria) will meet Australia, which is one of the strongest teams in this World Cup, maybe it will be very difficult for Nigeria to hold a draw like they did against Canada.

It's a tough group for Nigeria indeed, but they are not to be written off just yet, Australia needed a penalty to win against Ireland, and I'm very sure that Nigeria would be a tougher opponent for Australia than Ireland was.

Nigeria missed a couple of their best players today especially Rasheedat who plays for Atletico Madrid (w) team, but still put up a decent fight against a strong Canadian side, and I believe the draw is actually a positive start for Nigeria, a win against either Australia or Ireland would sure put them in a decent chance of qualifying for the round of 16, I'm still proud of their performance today and I hope they improve on their ball distribution and chances creation before the next match.
Honestly a draw vs Canada is a good result for Nigeria though. Playing out a draw with Canada in women football, I think Nigeria need to even celebrate it. Overall, it was a good performance by the Falcons. They should have won but there was no connection between the midfield and the attack, they have to improve. Nigerian attack always loses idea once they reach the half line. Going forward they should beat the Irish if all goes well and try getting a result vs the Aussies, and I think that’d be the problem.

Thats a good result indeed for Nigeria against a top team like Canada. Many thought
a Canadian win was inevitable.

Another interesting one today Spain v Costa Rica - a similar sort of match up, a top
side Spain v's a much lower ranked Costa Rica but as joker_josue says the results
be unpredictable.

We had already said here that women's football is very unpredictable. And we already had the first surprise in this World Cup, with New Zealand winning.

Of course, it will be easier from the second round onwards, as we have already seen how the teams are playing, but it will be a World Cup with several surprises.

One thing is for sure, we shouldn't compare countries as it happens in men's football. A country that is good at masculine is not necessarily good and feminine. We have to stay tuned and analyze more details.

Thing is though, if you look at the too 10 ranked in the world we see some familiar
countries, Brazil, Germany, Netherlands, France, England and Spain!
